Make a reservation! This place books up fast and not just on game days. Had a family dinner here - ended up sitting in the bar b/c a table opened up there before our reserved table. The small bar area was fine, but not as nice of a feel as the main side & wait staff is also the bartender (which means he's got a lot going on) so next time will plan ahead better and try the main dining room. Upscale restaurant in nice location at Celebration point. Easy parking. Lots of hostesses ready to check you in and was impressed to see them wiping down the doors almost every 5 min. Service was fine - really nice guy, he was just super busy as the restaurant was full. Appreciated gluten-free items being marked on the menu and that they offer the GF cheese rolls. If you've ever had Brazi Bites, they're pretty much like that but bigger, cheesier and better. Comes with a marinara dipping sauce that we really didn't end up using b/c the bites are better on their own. An order had maybe 6 bites so will need a couple orders if there are more than 3 of you. Didn't love the mocktail but appreciate that they have several to choose from so will try a different one next time. Food came pretty quickly and was presented nicely. Tomahawk pork chop was good. Really enjoyed the carrots. Halibut was pretty good. Small portion so if you have a big appetite, might want to go with the tomahawk. Chicken marsala was meh & surprisingly mashed potatoes weren't great. Not a lot of food. wouldn't order again. Brussel sprouts were quite tasty. We were there late so didn't walk around much, but there's some fun memorabilia to check out. For parents visiting college kids, this is a great option and much better food than many of the restaurants closer to campus.

A high end sports bar without the multiple TV sets, named after a University of Florida football player/coach and legend. This place really focuses on quality food and cocktails. The atmosphere is more of a museum than a restaurant as they have every memorabilia that Steve Spurrier ever received, it ads to the fun of eating here. Like the food, the service did not disappoint. If you find yourself in Gainesville, you might want to pay homage to this legendary University of Florida football legend.

Are you even a Gator if you've been to Gainesville and never been to Spurrier's?! I visited on Valentine's Day -- solo -- as a recent widow, and I honestly wasn't sure how the night would feel. What I didn't expect was to leave full, lifted, and smiling. I grabbed a seat at the bar (full service, first-come-first-served) and started with the shrimp scampi appetizer -- absolutely delicious. Then came a few expertly made cocktails thanks to Anthony, who was attentive without hovering, and Mandy, whose warmth and spirit felt like a hug you didn't know you needed. For dinner, I ordered the filet with miso-charred Brussels sprouts -- perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and worth every bite. Now... I never do dessert. But in honor of my late husband -- and his love for carrot cake -- I decided to Spurrier splurge. And I'm so glad I did. The vibe? It felt like end-of-the-third-quarter Gator energy -- all kinds of weather, all kinds of people, all in it because we stick together The food is excellent. The drinks are amazing. And the people -- especially Anthony and Mandy -- made this widow's first solo Valentine's Day something I'll always remember. Thank you for helping me have a really good night.

Great food options, service and atmosphere! Loved the items that I ordered and Tuesdays is half off martinis! The fruit with the burrata was so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend!

I had dinner with a friend here on Friday night and thankfully we made reservations as it was packed around 6:30pm. Since we were going to a movie, we ordered our food immediately. I went with the blackened redfish entree which I've had before. My friend ordered the chicken Marsala. Paired with my glass of Barossa Valley Cabernet, the entree was delicious. It came out with this large scoop of infused butter on top of the fish. The fish was cooked and season perfectly, it's a good portion for one person. The green beans were good and seasoned with that melted butter. My one suggestion is this entree needs another side to accompany it like mashed or roasted potatoes. Especially for the price point at $36 - eating green beans and a piece of fish just feels like something is missing in my opinion. My friend said she liked her chicken marsala and enjoyed the mushroom flavor. Overall, the service was very attentive and it's always a good time to connect with friends here over a nice dinner and drink.

Came here for our girls night and tried something new! I loved the sweet corn ravioli. I paired it with a Pinot Grigio and it was perfect. The service and atmosphere was awesome!

This was my first time and was for a private event so only a specific menu to choose from but still had a good variety. It was so late that I actually ended up getting the meal and dessert to go but we did have plenty of appetizers which were delicious. The next day I enjoyed what I ordered which was the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and green beans. I brought home the macadamia encrusted mahi for my bf and I tasted. It wasn't my favorite but not the worst either. For a busy Thursday night, it was definitely crowded and with that being said, we had pretty great service. I want to come back for a regular meal and also for the brunch. So far, I'd recommend but I've heard mixed reviews. As a Gators lover, it's also cool to see the football related decor.

Short Rib with Wild Mushroom Risotto

We arrived later than our reservation due to a movie running over, but the staff welcomed us warmly and still served us without hesitation. Earlier in the evening, we had stopped by the bar for a quick drink--our bartender was friendly, attentive, and set a great tone for the night. When we returned for dinner, our waitress was just as kind and professional. K ordered the filet and was blown away by its tenderness and juicy flavor. The short rib risotto was rich, comforting, and full of depth--CPA was thoroughly impressed. I enjoyed a classic house margarita, while CPA's had the Jerri's Seasonal Sangria--both were perfectly balanced and well-crafted. The atmosphere was stylish yet cozy, making it an ideal place to wrap up our date night. The overall experience was outstanding, and the food ranks among the best we've had. The only hiccup was that K's water glass had a chipped rim, and she nearly cut her lip--otherwise, this would've been a 5-star review. It was a busy evening, and we understand that oversights can happen. All in all, we highly recommend this spot for a romantic and refined night out. Perfect for a sophisticated pair looking to enjoy incredible food in an elegant setting.

Awesome food and service! Will totally be back next time in Gainesville! Restaurant was loud though with a lot of kids at the table next to us!

My husband and I are both Gators. We'd never been to Spurrier's; so we decided to stop in on our way from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale. It was a Sunday at about 8:15 pm; and we really wanted to watch the Green Bay/Pittsburgh game. We thought it was perfect timing! We weren't even sure the restaurant was open because it looked pretty empty inside. The host asked if we had a reservation, odd because the place was 90% empty. Then he took our name and number and said to wait up front. We asked if we could just sit in the bar area, which was a little fuller, because we wanted to watch the NFL game. He led us to a table next to a large column where really only 1 of 4 seats had a clear view of the game we wanted. I asked if we could have a different table, (there were many empty ones.). He said we could if we waited for them to clear and set one. We said fine, and were just kind of standing back; but he said we'd have to return to the host stand and wait there. Then we waited while he seated another couple that came in and he finally came back for us. He was just very aloof, and not very welcoming or friendly at all! Once seated at our new table, our server Emily came over and promptly took our drink order. She was pleasant. We perused the menu and decided to start with the Buffalo Chicken Dip, $18. I was worried it might be a little spicy because it said it had Louisiana hot sauce, but it had just the right amount of heat and a great texture with lots of cheese and shredded chicken. It also had the black tortilla chips which were delicious! The portion was perfect for sharing. We also shared Spurrier's Cheeseburger, $19. It was cooked to perfection with a tasty bun and a juicy burger. We both loved it and it came with some really yummy fries which were unexpected bonus! Overall our food was delicious and we loved looking at all of the amazing Spurrier/Florida Gators memorabilia! It honestly would have been a 5 star review if we wouldn't have encountered the snooty host!

Short rib on wild mushroom risotto

Always a treat to eat at Spurrier's...if you don't know what to eat just get the lobster bisque appetizer & short rib on wild mushroom risotto...if you have room (which you may not), the bread pudding is the best way to top off this meal...unless it is 2 for Tuesday martini night...

Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. Located in midtown, this appears to a fast casual place that caters towards college students. They serve "Greek" street food, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. The food is relatively inexpensive. Service is fine, actually the people working there are friendly. Food is made to order and comes out quickly. There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.

Apple Maps struggled to provided proper directions to parking and it might be because the area is under construction so just give yourself time to find Loosey's especially if going for dinner. It sure is worth the effort though, especially if you get Matthew as your server. He is full of wit and great local knowledge. He charmed our table from our first encounter. Loosey's has to be a local favorite because the quality and freshness of the food is outstanding. Matthew is a local treasure and made our experience there so memorable and fun. We all remarked that it must be so electric there when live music is on stage or it's a Gator game day. We started with the loaded potato skins. There were 5 large pieces that were covered with toppings and delivered pipping hot. I could easily order that as a meal next time I'm in town. Their house ranch dipping sauce that is drizzled on top was delicious. Several in our group ordered the Chic-fil Loosey's, which is a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, but I wasn't able to grab a photo as they were so eager to get started eating it. The portion of chicken breast was extremely large and the batter was perfectly crispy. Both diners exclaimed it was one of their all- time favorite chicken sandwiches they had ever eaten. Another diner took advantage of their wing special and exclaimed the Buffalo Garlic sauce was fantastic and she paired them with their ranch as well. She loved their added touch of the small paper basket topping the plate of wings for the bones. I had the Classic Beef Burger and it was cooked perfectly. There was a nice peppery flavor to the grill of the burger and the patty size was more than I expected. Especially for the price. I was so happy we found Loosey's. It was really good food. I encourage you to look past the construction mess and the "old wooden bar" stereotypes and trust me when o say, they take great pride on preparing high quality food.

Beautiful day so we sat outside in a lovely patio area. Great beer menu with draughts imported or domestic as well as a full bar. The menu was pretty much standard bar fare I had fish and chips and my wife had Mac and cheese. The fries on my plate were covered in salt. I tried to shake it off and wound up with a layer of salt on my plate. Most restaurant food is too salty for me as I cook at home low salt but this was crazy. I decided to try the Mac and cheese. It also had a cap of salt on it. I tried to dig to the bottom of the crock thinking that wouldn't be salty but I was wrong. The dish was prepared with salt throughout. Time to go and I did complain. The waitress said she hears that a lot and she offered to replace our meal to go but we didn't take her up on that offer. The fish was great! And we loved the vibe of the restaurant inside and out. I would go back again but knowing that I would order SALT FREE !!

Parking was free and plentiful, and we were seated without a long wait, though we highly recommend making reservations, especially on busy nights. The vibe is low-lit, romantic, and intimate which was perfect for a special occasion. Our waitress was fabulous and very attentive throughout the evening. To start, their "poppers" were absolutely delicious and a fun twist on traditional bread service, especially paired with the incredible blueberry butter. To celebrate, I ordered their Painkiller cocktail, which was smooth, delicious, and hit the spot. I also had the French onion soup, which arrived piping hot with perfectly melted cheese. For our entrées, we ordered the filet, the NY strip, and the rack of lamb, and every dish was excellent. We shared the corn and mashed potatoes, both of which were outstanding. I also loved the artistic touch on the menu check presentation. Overall, we're so happy we chose Prime & Pearl to celebrate our new marriage and will absolutely be returning in the future.
