Really cute spot - a bit bohemian and crunchy feeling. Limited parking available right behind if you're driving. It's not a big place. Seating is divided between indoor and outdoor patio. Order at the counter, get a number and then they will bring food out to you. Self serve water is available inside. We were there a busy day. Wait to order wasn't too bad and we found a table outside, but nobody was bussing any tables so basically customers sitting down were left clearing the dishes from the table of the people before them & wiping down the table. Nobody from the restaurant came out to help or apologize and it wasn't until dishes were almost toppling out of the bin that anyone took them away. Menu is pretty diverse - you can get some traditional items or more eclectic. We ordered the green goddess salad, croque mademoiselle (ham & cheese sandwich) on gluten free bread & okonomiyaki (japanese pancakes with cloud eggs). It took probably 30 min to get our food. The food presentation is really lovely & feels special when it's delivered. However, taste left something to be desired. The Japanese pancakes weren't good. The egg specifically looked really pretty all puffed up, but was so bad none of us were willing to have more than one bite. There were some other funky flavors going on there as well that detracted from enjoying it. The ham & cheese sandwich was okay, but the cheese is put on the outside, including a runny cheese, so it's a total mess to try and eat. Definitely do not order this one on a date! We ended up just eating the inside portion. It does come with a small green goddess type salad, which is nice. The entree green goddess appeared great when delivered. Loved the light, fresh dressing and ingredients. However, lots of the lettuce had sort of rotting tips, which made me worried to eat it especially since this isn't the cleanest place. The food was delicious! The flavors were super unique and the serving size was pretty big. I got the Crazy Rich Asians Benedict which was insanely unique and tasty. It was super, super filling, so definitely didn't need to order other things. We also ordered the Greek spreads, my favorite of which was the red beet hummus. The sourdough pieces it came with were seasoned well. One of the dips did have a piece either of plastic or glass that seems to have broken off that we removed. I ordered a dirty Thai tea as well. The drink was a bit grainy and I had to keep mixing it. Flavor wise, it tasted pretty good so I still enjoyed it but it wasn't as smooth as other times I've gotten the same drink at other places. Average spot for brunch near the UF campus. The menu has many options and a good variety of things to choose from. We ordered several things and thought the croque madam was the best thing we got. It had a nice combination of flavors in it. The steak and eggs were tasty as well, but the some pieces of the steak were very chewy. Furthermore, the TABLE sandwich was decent, but the bread was very soggy. The inside of the sandwich was tasty though. I thought the dishes were too oily as well. There is limited space in the restaurant so you can see the chefs in the cramped space running around to get orders done. There are also minimal tables to sit at, although the places gets very packed. The water is self-serve and you have to go up to order. However, they do bring the food out to you. At first they forgot the Avocado Fries included in my order but were quick to bring it out after asking about it. Although a little cramped, I think the food here is very good. We were told it was "coming up," but it still took another half hour. At 40 minutes, we asked for it to be packed to‑go because we had to get back to the hospital.When the food finally arrived, the staff didn't offer so much as a sorry, a discount, or any attempt to make things right. For $60, the food was absolutely not worth it.Even worse, I noticed several health code issues, which I've already reported.This place needs serious management and sanitation improvements. I am shocked that this place is not busier! It doesn't have more than a few small tables, but if you're looking for great brunch with no wait, look no further! There's also free parking around the back, so don't use "no parking" as a reason not to come! The menu is fresh and avocado centered. Everything looks amazing, it was really hard to decide. I was excited to try this place out with my family but we will not be going back. They make you pay and tip them before you see what kind of service you are going to get or see if they are even nice or not. I definitely would not have tipped as much as I did if it was after I got my food and saw that they don't care if you like anything at all and are not helpful at all with anything . This place has a lot of things they need to improve on! They make you get your own water which is no big deal but their water tastes so disgusting! The food is very salty so you need a drink which means you have to pay for a drink because the water they give you (sorry the water they make you get yourself) is not drinkable. I told my son not to drink it because I didn't want him to get sick that's how bad it tastes. The table we were sitting at was covered in something stinky and gross. They do not clean here at all. They want you to tip them but do nothing for it. Not even smile. Very uncomfortable and unwelcoming feeling the entire time here. I went to the bathroom and the hand railings and plant in there had half an inch of dust on them. Would hate to take a deeper look at the kitchen. My son wanted ketchup with his tater tots and you have to get it yourself from inside. I grabbed the container it was in and could see dried crusty ketchup all over the top of it so who knows when it was cleaned last. I opened it and it smelled so bad! My son walked over and I had him smell it and he made throwing up sounds and walked away saying guess I'm not getting any ketchup that smells gross. I have never smelled ketchup that smelled so bad! It really makes me worry and hope we don't get sick from eating here. The parking lot was also covered in gross trash. Had high hopes and definitely left feeling grossed out and a lil nauseous. I don't think the other people liked their food or drinks either. You have to take your plates to a bin when you are done eating and I noticed a lot of food still on the plates that were in there. A couple sitting besides us left without putting their food or drinks in the bin and had full drinks left so I guess people don't really like their drinks that much either. I've been seeing everyone posting pics from Hass kitchen all over my Instagram feed and the aesthetic of the food caught my eye so I needed to try it out. I came by with a friend for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and the place was super empty, we were the only two inside the entire hour we were there. The interior is cute and rustic-y decorated, but doesn't really have AC and there were a couple flies that kept bothering us. It's counter service, so we ordered with the girl at the counter and then they made the food and brought it out to us. We ordered the eggs benedict and shakshuka, both of which were super cute and aesthetic to look at. I did enjoy the shakshuka but felt like the eggs benedict was lacking flavor and got dull really quickly. Came here for brunch with my friends and we really enjoyed it. We arrived around 12pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. The location is nice if you live on campus but there is limited parking. Make sure you DO NOT park in the McDonald's across the street, you will get booted!! The restaurant is not very big and the ordering system is very easy. You simply order your food at the counter and they'll bring it out to you when it arrives. They will also give you silverware for you food after you order. This is nice because it allows you to choose your seating and makes the environment a lot more laid back. The interior is really cute and quaint. There are many aesthetic elements around the eatery and it provides for a fun dining experience. The service was fine, you do not interact with them too much due to the style of dining, but they were nice. The menu is quite diverse and has a lot of different fusion options to choose from. They have something for just about everyone and the food is really unique. I will note the prices are a little pricey...but the portions are decent size and the quality is very good. We started with the French toast sticks. They use their housemade vanilla-cinnamon brown sugar brioche bread and serve it with a Thai tea icing dipping sauce. They were served fresh off the griddle and were AMAZING. The sticks were so soft on the inside and the dipping sauce had just the right amount of sweetness, pairing perfectly with the brioche bread. I would highly recommend these as a starter/shareable. For my main, I ended up ordering the Shakshuka. It included spiced tomato, poached eggs, avocado-feta cream, herbs, cilantro, and warm sourdough. This was a really flavorful and hearty dish. The eggs were poached just right and the yolk was nice and runny. The avocado-feta cream was really tangy and worked well with the spice of the tomato. The sourdough bread was heavenly and I enjoyed dipping it into the dish. Really good and would also recommend. My friends ordered the egg toast, hash bowl, and the strawberry & citrus salad. They all enjoyed there dishes as well. Two of my friends made modifications to their hash bowls and they did confuse their orders. One ordered with over easy eggs and no avocado. She received a bowl with the avocado and sunny-side up eggs. While the other ordered the hash bowl with sausage instead of ham and sunny-side up eggs. She received a bowl with fully cooked eggs and no avocado. This was slightly inconvenient, but it wasn't a major problem. They also noted that some of the hash browns in the bowl were a little too salty and the bowl could have had fewer of them. Regardless, all our plates had lovely presentation and were quite flavorful! Overall, this was a tasty brunch! The location is great if you live near campus, but parking could be a challenge. The inside is super cute and makes for a great place to eat, both inside and out. There are aspects of the service that could be better, but overall it was decent. The menu is very diverse and has many savory and sweet options to choose from. I appreciated the unique menu and what it had to offer. The prices may be a little higher, but the quality is there and the portions are filling. This is a super fun eatery here in Gainesville, I cannot wait to return and explore more of the menu! read more

A little "hole in the wall" holds the most AMAZING fusion food you can dream about! My daughter and I were looking for a unique brunch-y place that has healthier options and found Hass Kitchen. Imagine my surprise when I realized it is the same building that was a dive bar I worked at almost 40 years ago! It has come about 180 and now is a rustic, charming yet somewhat quirky restaurant. I guess I would say the food and restaurant overall was just OK, but for the most part we weren't impressed. Cool, cozy little space inside with a boho vibe - but unfortunately it was dirty and that made the atmosphere feel cheap. The food however was not cheap. Everything tasted OK, but the $17 BLT sandwich with avocado and egg ( T.A.B.L.E. Sando) was a letdown. It had a sad, unripe slice of tomato straight from the end of the veggie and a sad, tiny, mushy piece of avocado - paired with bacon and a fried egg, with bread that was the saving grace of this sandwich. The ingredients were just kinda sad for a $17 sandwich. It had a sad pile of stale salad mix next to it - not sure if it was to eat or just a bad garnish. Tomato toast was good-ish to good. But it also had some sad looking avocado slices on it, although much more than the 2 sad slivers on the sando. Service was OK, but no one was cleaning off tables so the place was messy for there being just a few customers. I think overall the menu looks good, but the quality of the ingredients didn't live up to expectations. read more
