First off I have never eaten a biscuit that taste exactly like my grandmother biscuits until I came here. I got the Sticky Maple Biscuit and let me say it was very flavorful. It was seasoned very well and the biscuit was soft inside and toasty on the outside . It was so delicious I ordered a second one to go. The ambience is welcoming and the staff was very pleasant. Stopped in while in Gainesville as we are huge fans of MSB! Service was 3 stars as the staffed seemed to lack in some areas. Cashier was very helpful but our orders were getting mixed up and coming out randomly and not together. Wait time was longer than usual and it had to be because the kitchen wasn't getting the orders right. Food was good , except my fried green tomatoes were overly fried and very hard. My maple vanilla latte wasn't as delicious as back home so I had to work my magic at the coffee area to make it taste better. I have always loved maple street. It was a staple for me when I was in college. I totally understand how busy it can be on football weekend Sundays, however there needs to be some kind of changes in order to handle busy crowds efficiently. My friends and I ordered online for pickup because we knew it would be busy, we arrived to the restaurant 30 minutes later at our exact stated pickup time, just to be told it going to be another half an hour. This additionally half hour ended up being an hour and 20 minutes. Overall the wait time was awful and hectic and everyone seemed flustered and there needs to be some modifications made to make this system more efficient. Although the man behind the pick up counter was very kind. In regard to the food, everything was delicious, but I ordered the squawking goat, which is a biscuit with goat cheese and pepper jelly, and find out once I got home that the goat cheese was never added on to my biscuit. I was quite disappointed after I had already waited an hour plus. I fear this may be one of my last times eating at maple street biscuit no matter how delicious the food has always been. read more

I've always wanted to try this restaurant and today was the day. I wish it had been worth the wait, but it was not. We ordered two Retro Plates that each came with two eggs, two slices of bacon, two hash brown potatoes, and jelly. You can upgrade from jelly to sausage gravy for $2.49 and we did that for both orders. The eggs on both orders were inedible. I'm not sure why the kitchen was so heavy-handed with the pepper shaker, but it was way too much. I couldn't even feed the eggs to my puppies. The potatoes were ok, like mini latkes, but way too much onion. The bacon was good, it could've been cooked longer and we just ate around all the white, fatty areas. The biscuit was alright, nothing to write home about. I think Hardee's has a much tastier biscuit. For a place with "Biscuit" in their name, I was expecting greatness instead of mediocracy. I ordered online for pick up on a Sunday and specified no hot sauce on my bacon, egg, and grits bowl. When I arrived, it was very quiet with no guests. When I got my order, it had hot sauce, but everything else looked good. They had to remake it without the sauce but then the grits were very dried out. He added water to them but then they were watery. I would probably give this location another shot sometime though assuming that might be a one off occurrence. My first time at Maple Street was for Sunday brunch. We arrived around 11:30am and the restaurant was so busy. We were quoted 45 minutes before our food would arrive, but it ended up being 30ish. We sat outside and unfortunately had a yellow jacket nest under our table. Tony was so kind and helped us remove the nest and kept us safe from the bees. Not only did Tony help us with the inner situation, he provided us cinnamon biscuits while we were waiting for our food. I want to mention that my rating doesn't reflect the staff -- they were all five-star great and welcoming, and constantly kept the dining area clean and came around asking if we needed anything. The Pick Up station was nice enough to notice and replaced our burnt waffles. It did require more waiting, though. There wasn't even a line -- the kitchen is just very slow. It's a confusing place to navigate. The coffee station is way down near the bathrooms, while the cutlery (which they were out of, is up near the pick up station. They ask you a question like "what was your favorite childhood toy," and your answer is the name they call out for your order. We weren't told this, so we were so confused. This place is awesome. I have been to two different locations now and both were very good. The five and dine is great. Huge but great. I can't find the photos I took. But if you are looking for a good breakfast spot this is it. The orange juice was amazing! I don't say that easily. Both places were large enough to hold a good crowd too. One of the WORST dining experience I've had all year was at Maple Street Biscuit. Firstly, how does an establishment which is centered around biscuits, run out of biscuits at before noon on a Sunday? And no, I don't believe it was due to a lack of staff or too high demand (the place was not even full). Our order (2 biscuit orders - the farmer and cowboy) took over an hour... Worst of all, it was stone cold - how is that possible when part of the wait was because they ran out of biscuits and so had to make another batch... I think it was pretty unprofessional that the staff taking orders did not mention this when we were ordering... We ordered the cowboy since it was features and highlighted as a 'staff pick' but they were out of beef.... which we were only told after waiting 30 mins. Instead of thinking up quirky ways to put your name down for your order, I think management should take a hard look at how the kitchen is setup and communication between the staff and customers. read more
