    Egg, cheese, bacon bowl.

I ordered online for pick up on a Sunday and specified no hot sauce on my bacon, egg, and grits bowl. When I arrived, it was very quiet with no guests. When I got my order, it had hot sauce, but everything else looked good. They had to remake it without the sauce but then the grits were very dried out. He added water to them but then they were watery. I would probably give this location another shot sometime though assuming that might be a one off occurrence. The female manager was sitting at a table and seemed friendly. The restaurant looked clean and the food tasted good.

I've always been a maple street fan since first trying them in Jacksonville, but I steered away for a while because I felt like the price to portion ratio was not to my liking. Well, I went back today and had their power breakfast and a side of grits. Oh. My. God. I had forgotten just how good of quality their ingredients were. And the grits... I don't know what they do to them, but they were some of the best ever. Super creamy and flavorful without loads of salt or grease. You won me back over, maple street.

My first time at Maple Street was for Sunday brunch. We arrived around 11:30am and the restaurant was so busy. We were quoted 45 minutes before our food would arrive, but it ended up being 30ish. We sat outside and unfortunately had a yellow jacket nest under our table. Tony was so kind and helped us remove the nest and kept us safe from the bees. Not only did Tony help us with the inner situation, he provided us cinnamon biscuits while we were waiting for our food. He went out of his way to check on us outside while he was all the way working in the kitchen. I ordered the power bowl and it was pretty flavorless. The biscuits were delicious!

Service was really awful. Food took 45 mins and was mid at best. They said if we wanted sausage gravy it would take 30 mins so I ordered mushroom gravy instead and it took 45 mins. Lol. Won't be back. Seems like they give priority to go orders. Do better

We chose to eat eat because we figured it would be a quick and easy choice. Food was good. However, it did take quite some time to get our order. I think they need to hire more staff. It looked like a skeleton crew. Kind of felt bad for even ordering with maybe 2 people working the whole restaurant.

Super great experience! Service is very nice - event got free Iced Cinnamon Biscuits for our first time there! So sweet of the staff - literally!! The ambiance is great, homey, could be cleaner but the workers are very busy as it is a very popular place to eat! Everything was very good, flavorful- the biscuits were buttery and flaky, the waffles were fluffy, bacon crispy, grits creamy, orange juice is freshly squeezed! They have questions of the day & what your answer is, is your call-out name thought that was pretty cool!

The menu here is extensive with lots of fun biscuit choices. The biscuits are light and fluffy, but also crispy. Our food came out within minutes of ordering (super fast) and was hot and fresh. It's a great portion size for the price and everything was cooked well. The ambiance is nice with plenty of seating. My only issue was that I ordered The Squawking Goat, which was supposed to have crispy goat cheese but instead just had a big hunk of cold goat cheese. It was still tasty but not what the menu promised.

We were visiting Gainesville and stopped by for a fast casual breakfast. This was our first time visiting Maple Street Biscuit. I want to mention that my rating doesn't reflect the staff -- they were all five-star great and welcoming, and constantly kept the dining area clean and came around asking if we needed anything. It's the food that we didn't love. We ordered their Smashbrowns and two of their signature biscuit sandwiches, The Farmer and the Squawking Goat. The biscuits are denser and drier than we prefer. The sauces on the chicken definitely helped add flavor. I really wanted to love this spot, but unfortunately their food didn't stand out.

I've only ever gotten this place to go before, I ordered and say outside and they said they'd find me. I realized about an hour went by and went inside and there were new people dining getting their food so I asked and apparently they never put the order through. They made it really quick and gave me a biscuit but it sucks I wasted an hour. Not sure if I'd dine in again - or I'd sit inside. The food was pretty good but the cheese on top would be nice if it was melted.

I stopped in the other day and discovered the Power Bowl with all its deliciousness, plus I had an excellent latte.

Over easy? No. Just gross rubber eggs. Yuck

Four years ago I like this place. Now, notsomuch. A few days ago I had the Chix & Waffle. Nowhere on the mobile menu did I see the breading was spicy of I would not have ordered it. Why not post an accurate menu description that this is fried chicken with kick? I ended up having to scrape what was otherwise a nice crispy breading off. If you like some eat you might enjoy. The waffle was nothing unique but it was good. Today I ordered the Blue Grass Grits Bowl with two eggs over easy. What I received was two eggs cooked to the point of rubbery with equivalent of hard boiled yolks.....and without bacon. Gross. I threw it out and requested a refund on Uber eats. I should have stuck with my usual at the Flying Biscuit!

Since we don't have these up here in the tri-state area, at first glance it looked promising. I didn't know it was a chain Resturant which is something that I usually steer clear of. Sweet, sweet southern service. I tried the squawking goat. I did order it to go so I'm not sure if it would have been better plated. The chicken was the type you'd get pre-frozen. Mediocre thin breading. I will say that I was impressed by goat cheese medallion. It really cut all the sweetness of the pepper jelly. A let down for my expectations but I guess this could fall under the standard of fast food

4.5 In town to see nephews baseball game and dropped her with some family. It was very busy, but they moved the line quickly with orders. Food was flavorful- large portions and great flavor. Couldn't order OJ, machine was down, which was a bummer for all. It is so good- fresh squeezed. We did order: Bluegrass grit bowl- grits, bacon, over easy egg The Cowboy- country fried steak biscuit Sweet Grace- waffles with strawberries and whipped cream The Farmer- biscuit with chicken, bacon, and apple butter Biscuits with egg and sausage and one with eggs and bacon. Berry mimosa- unfortunately this was only ok- pretty sweet and more juice than mimosa. They lost our order slip and there was a delay, but staff was very apologetic and came to us on this and also gave us a gift card. Very attentive and on top of everything. Very nice. Will be back when in town.

We went during THE busiest time so we were lucky to find parking in the cramped but free parking lot. The hostess let us know there was a 35 min wait for indoor seating for 2. Outdoor seating was available, but we decided against it since it was a hot n sunny day in the 90s. We were ok with the wait and gave the hostess my name and phone number to get a text when the table was ready. While we waited, we walked to Serpentine plant shop across the parking lot and shopped a little. The text that our table was ready arrived 34 minutes so it was timed perfectly with the end of my shopping... we were seated soon after walking back into the restaurant. We had a corner table near the drink prep/coffee station so we had a front row seat to the preparing of many different teas and coffees while we decided what to order. A note about the table / seat size, we are skinny people and the seating fit us well but anyone somewhat wider would have trouble being comfortable. The high top tables might be a better option for those guests. The entire restaurant was packed when we came in and remained pretty full for our visit. There are 2 single-occupancy restrooms to the far left of the main entrance. They were clean enough and stocked appropriately. We were served by Jane and she answered all our menu questions. We ordered a cold matcha latte, chai latte, Mexican Coke, crispy potatoes, afternoon hash extra egg, 1/2 mushroom toast, and a turkey club no lettuce no bacon plus desserts (to go) chocolate chip cookie, puff pastry, and cinnamon roll. Jane brought out our to go desserts soon after the order. Our drinks arrived minutes after. However, our food took a bit longer (which we expected with a 100% full restaurant and Jane apologized for the wait, letting us know our food was on it's way about 20 minutes in) around 30 minutes. While we were waiting, there was punk rock / alt music in the background and a bunch of people's conversations going on so don't expect to have quiet dining if you go during a Saturday busy brunch. The Turkey Club was on thick Texas toast with dill in the mayo and tasted clean, fresh, like a delightful treat that grandma would make on a hot summer day. My husband's hash and crispy potatoes were the right amount of crunch and spice. The crispy potatoes had chunks of lime in it that were alarmingly sour but somehow complimented the dish. My mushroom toast had a delectable sauce topping with fresh scallions on french bread. We were very satisfied with our choices and had 1/2 my sandwich leftover plus our desserts to bring home. Many of the guests left empty plates when leaving so it seems their food is a hit! The only reason my "atmosphere" rating is missing a star is that our table was unfortunately near one of the restrooms so we would occasionally smell the disinfectant odor when someone opened the door. This was just a seating "feature" so of course it could not be helped. As far as other smells, we did notice that the kitchen, even if it was nearby, did not waft any fried food odors or smoke so their cooking area ventilation must be top-notch. All in all, a great foodie experience, cost about $100 with generous tip. Jane provided super customer service. We would come back for brunch or lunch here again, just not at the same table area

I entered the restaurant at 9:15 am with my guest and were seated promptly. Our server proceeded with our drink order in which we requested a vanilla and brown sugar iced latte and lemonade. My vanilla and brown sugar latte was made well and was quite refreshing. The lemonade was a bit sweet but overall a good beverage. However, as our experience continued it became a bit of a let down. We ordered the Dutch baby with seasonal fruit, the big break, a cinnamon roll, and the afternoon hash. From time of placing the order to receiving our food was an overall total of 45 minutes. A bit of a long wait for breakfast/brunch style items. The cinnamon roll was not done well whatsoever, the roll itself was over kneaded which created a thick and heavy dough. Not the fluffy type of cinnamon roll you would expect. When our food did come out the Dutch baby was partly burnt, it did not taste as such but it was a bit flat in regard to taste. The potatoes in the hash and the big break were burnt. I wouldn't consider it crispy because they were so overcooked I could barely get my fork to go through. The taste of the hollandaise did redeem the dish a tad, however for $90 including tip it was not the dining experience I would come back to.

I completely understand the importance of cleaning the tables, especially between customers, but the smell from the sponges and cleaning products was really unpleasant while we were trying to enjoy our meal. A Funky Gainesville Gem Just Outside the UF Bubble…read more If you're looking for a spot with personality, great food, and zero pretension, The Top delivers. Tucked just outside the usual UF bubble, this local favorite has a quirky, artsy vibe that instantly puts you at ease. Think funky decor, dim lighting, and the kind of atmosphere where you can linger for hours without anyone rushing you out. The Food: We came hungry and left very happy. Highlights from our table: Blackened Salmon - Perfectly cooked with a bright lemon caper sauce, served alongside roasted potatoes and string beans. Simple, well-executed, and flavorful. Sweet & Spicy Peanut Shrimp - Shrimp and broccoli tossed in a rich peanut sauce with sesame carrot ribbons over basmati rice, plus a beautiful side salad. Big flavor, great balance of heat and sweet. Black Pepper Steak - Top sirloin seared with cracked black peppercorns and finished with a rosemary shiitake mushroom brandy cream sauce. Rich, earthy, and honestly one of the best steaks I've had in Gainesville. Paired with a crisp Caesar salad. The Drinks: The bar knows what it's doing. The Old Fashioned was smooth and classic, and the Cucumber Margarita was crisp, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. The Vibe: Super relaxed. There are front and rear patios, a pool table, and arcade games, so it easily doubles as a hangout spot if you just want to grab a drink and unwind. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a low-key dinner, a date, or drinks with friends. Other Popular Bites to Try: The goat cheese and garlic plate, fried pickles, and their specialty burgers all get a lot of love -- putting those on my list for next time. Definitely check their website for current hours before heading over. Whether you're grabbing a full meal or just a cocktail, The Top is a solid, cool, come-as-you-are kind of place. Highly recommend. I will definitely go back next time I'm in town.
