Ok, having your house repiped is not something your looking to do. I imagined a super mess but it was actually better than I thought it would be. After a leak in the main line in the garage, I decided to repipe with Pex as most of my neighbors were having leaks and having a lot of damage to repair. The water in South Orange County California is treated with chloramines which are eating up the copper pipes. Why wait and be inconvenienced with damage and dealing with an insurance company and then have your insurance go up for 3-5 years. Two of my neighbors used Repipe Specialists so I just called them up. The estimate of cost was about what I expected, maybe a little high but I wanted quality work. Water can cause a lot of damage in a short period of time as I have witnessed in my neighbors houses. Our homes were built in 1979 and the pipes were worn out by the chloramines. They said it would take a week to schedule in a crew but the next day they called and said they had a crew who could be there the next day. Rafael with Mr. Repipe showed up with a 6 six man crew. Be advised that the Repipe Specialists sub-contracts with other companies that are approved by them and that they have checked out and do quality work. I was even offered on the original phone call to go direct but I wanted the lifetime one time transferable warranty and the backup of Repipe Specialists. The job went well except from a few un-necessary holes in a wall and ceiling that if they had really thought out what they were doing they wouldn't have explored that area since the area they used to run the pipe was better and more obvious. They were here until 8:00 PM but had to come back on Monday to do some valves in the master bath shower from the temperature valve to the actual on and off valves. Their cleanup was excellent and we only had dust in some areas to clean up. Too bad for us the housekeep came the day before. The only hiccup was that nobody called to say they were coming to finish the repipe and repair the drywall. They couldn't come on Friday or the weekend as we were unavailable so that is on us. The drywall crew was amazing and the texture job was perfect as was the one whole on the outside of the house that had to be filled and re-stuccoed. They were done by 4:00 PM with everything cleaned up and back to normal except for the paint. If they only painted, it would be a dream job. I still have to call my painter but again, that is on me. I highly recommend Repipe Specialists. Stay with them and don't go direct as you get the warranty which you may need. Repiping is expensive and you don't want to pay for it twice. I don't expect any problems as I looked over the job before it was sealed up but you don't know what the chloramine water might do in the long run but you have Repipe Specialists to back you up. Repipe Specialists emailed me to do a honest review and I have. No discounts, money or incentives were offered for the review and I really respect them for this ethical standard. Let's just say that the house was in badly need of repiping the kitchen. We knew it was a major job. Fortunately our HOA recommended these fellows .. they did an amazing job! I had a leak in my foundation in early October and chose to have my 30 year old copper pipes replaced. I called Repipe Specialists and Jim Fish came to our house and explained what would be done & the cost of the project. We decided to have the work done & the date was scheduled for November 14, 15, & 16. On the 14th a team of 5 or 6 workers came to the house & prepared & installed all the new PEX pipes, to replace the old copper pipes, in one day. We were able to use our water that night. On the 16th (there was no work on the 15th) another team of 5 or 6 came to the house and completed all the drywall & stucco repair which included the texture of the walls & stucco. They finished in one day. I am very pleased with the two teams that did the work on our house. And we have more water pressure upstairs due to the new pipes and a shorter route for our water to travel. I finished up by painting the walls & stucco. I highly recommend Repipe Specialists! My house had polybutylene pipes which are defective and discontinued in the 1990s. After several leaks a year, I decided to get my house repiped. I researched a few companies with good reviews. Two of them touted copper over pex and said it would take 4-6 days for the repipe. I talked with the sales rep from Repipe Specialist and was initially turned off by the somewhat hard sell and sales tactic of quoting high then offering a 20% discount. Actually, I initially dismissed this company. However, the more I researched the more I came to the conclusion that Uponor Pex is superior to copper in most ways. Research it yourself. So, after reconsideration, I went with Repipe Specialists, especially since they said they could do the initial repipe in one day!. The repipe crew showed up on time. The lead gave me an overview of what they would do, then commenced work. They laid protective tarps everywhere and were very careful and professional. I had a last minute request to add a "loop" in the garage so I could put in a water filter, which they did no problem. They had the water back on and fully functional in around 5 hours. With 4 adults working from home, this was totally awesome! The city inspection passed with flying colors. The patch crew came and did mostly a pretty good job. However, they missed a section of texturing that was behind a dresser and also left quite a few screws and nails in my driveway which I found over the next week. Overall, I would recommend these guys. This is all they do and they are very good at it. Helpful tip: when the repipe guys cut out drywall, bring the prices the Home Depot or Lowe's so they can match the paint. read more

The sales rep claimed that since the PEX lines in the attic were insulated our cold water lines would remain cold in the height of the summer when outside temperatures are in the 90 to 100 range. That is a lie. The water in the cold water lines in the attic is heated to as high as 150. This has resulted in my being scalded while taking a shower in the late afternoon. When it happens your first reaction is to turn the temperature control to cold but this makes it worse because now you are getting 150 degree water which is higher than the 120 degree setting on the water heater. Being in my 80s this could easily have caused me to stumble and fall with potentially serious consequences. The company needs to provide adequate insulation and possibly a warning. read more

Repipe specialist is the most unprofessional contract breaking company I have ever had to do business with. John Oscarson came to our house May 8th 2021 and spent 2 hours selling us all new water pipes in our house. I was extremely clear about obstacles they may face as our house has a small crawl space and they need someone really small to get under. Today May 27th Steve Lovell project foreman shows up and the notes are not correct. First thing Steve says is they did not pull a permit to do the job, but do I care? I personally am not too worried, but I am pretty sure the state licensing board will care! They do not have the skinny guy. 1 of their guys gets under our house and says they isn't enough space and they dont want to do the job. After twice having leaking pipes that flooded our house, we decided to re-pipe. Repipe Specialists were recommended to us by our contractor and I can't begin to tell you how pleased we were with their work. They do sub-contract their work but they only use a few companies in all of So Cal and their subcontractor was excellent. We have a two story, 3600 sf house and they did all of the re-piping in one day and then all of the drywall and stucco patching in one day. The entire process took 3 days (one day delay in order to get City inspection). They were extremely intelligent in how they accessed the piping in order to minimize the damage to the house. They did not have to break any of the tile and we have four bathrooms. They protected our furniture and hardwood floors, cleaned up after their work. They were timely, friendly and efficient. This company is the ultimate nightmare for a residential homeowner to deal. Never again and avoid!! This company operates like a disjointed franchise. Their is no real office to speak of: everyone you deal with can be anywhere but definitely not in one place. The net result is you need to have a great salesman to coordinate all the subcontracting parties. In my case, the salesman Ross was just mediocre and spent much his time on vacation without anyone backing up his work during most of the duration of my home's repipe. The subcontactor plumbers from IMD Plumbing just did whatever, on their arbitrary schedule they did not want to share with me and had an uppity, rude attitude to add to the uncertainty. The promised two days became six days and not all consecutive. These guys did the bare minimum and were poor at clean up. For the significant cost that a home repipe is, look around and get somebody else! Also, shop around before you do a repipe if you intend to change your fixtures, you'll get better pricing if you shop that project elsewhere. It's not a good idea to just hope for that the subcontractor plumbers will give you a fair deal if they do it at the same time of the repipe. They didn't in my case. read more

Stay away. Their amazing warranty is NOT what it seems. They repiped my house 5 years ago and gave a lifetime warranty. Well, the main pipe is leaking and they made me pay $125 to just come out to my house. Then they said that I didn't make a final payment of $250 5 years ago. They asked me to prove I made the payment before they will even come after I paid the $125 ransom. Needless to say, I don't have records from 5 years ago but would always pay my bills. It really seems they are using this as a way to void the warranty. If I missed a payment, why didn't they EVER ask me for it five years ago? They are a scam. We had a leak detection company diagnose a hot water slab leak under kitchen sink in late November on my 57-year-old home and decided to repipe our copper pipes with PEX. After having several contractors come out we decided to go with Repipe Specialist that was recommended by the leak detection company. They had one of the lowest bids and their presentation was the best, very detailed and clear. One area I was skeptical was that they sub-contract all the work, but I am glad that didn't discourage me from going with them. Overall, I am pleased with the work they did from the sales presentation by Jim Fish to the Repipe contractor, patch crew, and customer service rep Cynthia. Repipe was done in 1 day with water being restored that same day. The number of holes made to repipe was less than I anticipated. After city inspection approved we scheduled patching of the holes. There was a communications issue between the Repipe customer rep and the patching crew as they showed up on a wrong date. Cynthia was able to reschedule with our preferred date which then the drywall and stucco patching was completed. Overall, the patch crew did a good job and they even patched some rough stucco area that was not part of the job which was nice of them. One area they might need to improve is communications between the repipe company and patching. The patching crew didn't appear to come with a plan of how many holes to patch and relied on us to direct them to all the holes. We missed a hole behind the fridge that I forgot to tell them, so the patch crew had to come back and complete it the next morning. It would be ideal that the patch crew come in with a plan in hand. no one ever told me that "patching" the walls was "extra", specially since their commercials state they patch the walls. never once was i asked if i wanted my walls patched. and when i asked the main guy when will they patch my walls, he said, "we aren't patching your walls, you didn't order it." he was sooooo rude. and to make matters worse, i just added new floors to my home and when i "disconnected" my washer, i got water every where!!! there was no valve to turn the water off at the source. i had this work done in december, 2017, and i'm having my floors done on 4/9/21. can you imagine if i had tried to disconnect my water after i put in my new floors! as it was, i had water all over my floors!!!!! poor quality and attention to details! read more

They got the entire house done in one day with plaster repair completed the following day. That was in December '18. Six weeks later both new lines on the water heater started leaking and a pipe in the kitchen wall did the same. I replaced the water lines on the water heater myself using stainless braided connect lines. My plumber friend repaired the kitchen issue. Never got a call back from them. Lifetime guarantee they promise is probably pretty challenging to collect in based on my experience to date. read more

Repipe Specialists replaced all my copper pipes except for an area under the sink which they told me could not be addressed due to a post tension slab leak and that they would need to jack hammer the ground which THEY recommended against and made me sign off on. That area in my house leaked after repiping and caused even more damage this time. The problem was easily addressed through an inline reroute by another company. THEY ARE UNETHICAL. It was inevitable: 70-year old ranch-style house in Fullerton developed a slab leak. The only good news was that it was caught quickly before much damage seemed to have developed, but it wasn't that simple. The leak was between two rooms and damaged carpet and drywall and custom kitchen cabinets on opposite sides. It was obvious that a complete repipe was in my future. After talking with two plumbing companies and getting estimates, I found Repipe Specialists. Their estimate was about HALF of the other two and I was a bit worried about that but I found that a couple of my friends had good experience with Repipe Specialists before so I felt ok after that. When they showed up to do the job they were in and out in about 6 hours for the piping, and about the same for day 2 when they patched all the walls perfectly. The estimator was punctual and very informative of the process to repipe my home and the estimate was inline with other plumbing companies. I was skeptical when they claimed they could re-pipe my entire house in 1-day. Why? Because I live in a fairly large home (3200sq ft) built in 1960 that's had numerous add-ons by numerous companies over the years. Everything in the house is old and every project we've done on this place has been an exercise in patience and busted budgets. So, when I sat down with the sales team, I was giving them the "yeah right" smirk. I read the reviews, I compared them to a few competitors and then I rolled the dice. I'm happy to report a couple of months after that first sales call (my timing not theirs) how impressed I am with the whole outfit. It wouldn't be my house if some things didn't go wrong, and they did.... However, Repipe figured it all out in a stride even when they had to spend extra time making it right. Isaac and his team are the A-Team of plumbing, all they're missing is the black van. Aprox. ten guys showed up the day of the install. I had done all my homework (a sheet of to-do's that you must complete to make the job go smoothly.) They got to work about 8:30 am. We had them remove 2 water heaters (1 gas and 1 electric from 1983) and replace them both with a gas tankless water heater as a part of the full-house (2 stories) pex conversion. My first impression was one of uneasiness as at least 3 teams went to work on our walls with heavy equipment. If there's one warning to future customers, it's that these guys waste NO time getting into your walls and they will cut open as many walls and ceilings as they deem necessary to get the job done. I felt like we were in a war zone for most of the day, but that's the price of progress. These guys worked their tails off ALL day. It's a messy process, and even though they cover EVERYTHING, sheet rock dust has a way of going everywhere. So, (as the homework sheet says) anything you don't want to clean afterwards should probably come out of the house. My house was threatening their 1 day timeline and threw just about every curve ball it could at them from having to run a new vent for the tankless water heater as the old one wasn't to spec, to an old sink that cracked in the process of refitting the fixtures. Isaac and team never blinked, they just kept going. At 6:30pm on the first day they finally wrapped by cleaning the house and vacuuming everywhere. If I were the house, I would have probably felt violated... The next day the sheetrock team comes through. Same work ethic, same attention to detail, same determination. By mid-day they had patched over 30 separate openings. If this worries you, it shouldn't, these guys are TOP notch sheetrock and stucco guys. After repainting, their work is invisible. If by now you're ready to do this, a couple of bits of advice. 1. If you're thinking about swapping out sink fixtures, ask the team if they'll install the new fixtures for you. It costs a bit more, but it's so very worth it if you're in an older home. 2. Turn off computers or any appliances with fans as they will inhale sheetrock dust covered or otherwise. In the aftermath we had 2 issues. 1.The sink that got broken was glued/cemented into the old tile countertops and there was only one way to remove it and that was to break it out with a hammer. This left us in need of a tile specialist as well as a new sink. Isaac and company took care of it. It took a few days for them to schedule the tile guy and I'm assuming they had to come out of pocket for that, but when he arrived, he too did A+ work. 2. The vent for the tankless water heater was venting too close to a door that is often open and fumes were making their way back in. I don't consider this to be anyone's fault per say, but again, Isaac and team came back out the next Monday and ran the vent up through 2 stories to the roof and patched the walls for us. Bottom line, even if things go wrong in an old house (which is just the reality with older homes,) Repipe has your back all the way. Their work ethic is second to none. My only regret is that I can't hire them on as my permanent plumber since this is ALL they do (very well.) read more

Repipe Specialists (RPS) should pay their estimator, Mike, seven figures a year. He's a great salesman. Too bad the quality of the work doesn't live up to his charismatic sales pitch. During the sales pitch, Mike showed us a binder with pictures of what to expect from RPS. Here's what he represented, followed by the reality. 1. RPS would deburr the ends of every single piece copper tubing. I had my contractor there the entire day. He saw no deburring equipment used on any copper pipe. There was no deburring equipment on their trucks or on-site. 2. RPS would install isolators under the house where the new copper pipe would come into contact with the floor joists and where the pipes come through the floor. None were installed. 3. RPS would install flush mount hot and cold water knobs at the washing machine connection. Mike even showed us a picture of how they would look in his binder. None were installed, and when discussed with the crew that showed up, they've never heard or seen anything like that before. 4. A supervisor would show up at the conclusion of the job to inspect the work performed by the crew. No one showed up. Now, the installation problems: Steve, the crew supervisor from the subcontracted company Miranda Plumbing, complained that our main line from the meter was PVC and he didn't think he would be able to connect it to copper. The contract with the inspection sheet states that the main is PVC. Why is that a problem now? Somehow he managed to do it. They installed the PRV drain pipe from the water heater into a lower cabinet and not under the house. My husband had to demand they replace the pipe to vent properly. They attached the new water lines to our hot water heater onto the side of a wooden pantry cabinet using 1-1/2" dry wall screws going through 3/8" plywood directly into the pantry. My contractor pointed this out to Steve, who told him "that's how we do it. Check your contract." My contractor did check the contract, and the contract stated that the water lines would be mounted INSIDE the wall. He showed Steve the contract, who chose to ignore him. When my husband saw this, he confronted the Steve who told him to "check your contract." My husband showed him the contract again and insisted that he call Mike. Mike told my husband he didn't MEAN to quote us on lines installed INSIDE the wall; normally they install them ON the wall. Hello? They didn't install them on a wall, they installed them onto the side of our wooden pantry cabinet (hint: it's NOT a wall). They finally agreed to send a crew back on Saturday to install the lines per the terms of the contract. Steve told his crew that he would "charge back Mike for that mistake." Under the bathroom sink, they stuffed paper towels between the pipe and the floor joists for insulation. My husband replaced it himself with the proper insulation. The supervisor, Steve, tried to short cut everything. He relocated an exterior hose bib to save himself about 12 feet of copper pipe to the original location without our permission. My husband let it pass because there were already so many issues wrong with their work. They installed one hose bib with smaller tubing than the other bibs. The hose bib installed at the front porch pointed directly to the steps. The hose couldn't have been installed on the bib without the hose lying across the front porch. My husband had to demand that they install it properly, with Steve insisting again, "that's how we do it." The regulator system installed at the main is huge and spider web like. I hate the bait and switch tactics that RPS uses. The crew did not perform as represented during the presentation. I would suggest that you ask to make copies of anything in that binder that the salesman brings to show you, because no one seems to remember it after you sign the contract. Find someone else to do your repiping. Save yourself a headache. read more

I didn't want to just give the job to anyone and definitely wanted to guarantee that the job was going to be done correctly. The service from the estimate appointment, to meeting John for the estimate, to the actual service and patchwork, was amazing. Job was done efficiently and correctly. My house was re-piped through Re-Pipe Specialists on May 6 - May 7, 2019. I say "through" Re-pipe Specialists, because unknown to me, they had sub-contracted another company to do the work. The gentleman who sold me the job, had of course shown up in a crisp company shirt with fancy brochures and testimonials. He assured me I could call him at any time if I had further questions or concerns. It turned out I did have a question, and an important one. I left him a couple of voice messages with a question about some of the pipe routing we had discussed. I made it clear in my message that the information was important to me, because it could save me a lot of preparatory time and effort. He did not return my calls, so I felt I had to play it safe and do the extra work. As it turned out, many of the hours I spent moving things out of the way on the wall in the garage and later having to put back were completely unnecessary. To say the least, this did not make me happy. The day of the job, I was surprised to have a company called "Pipe-It-Right" show up. Of the large crew of workers, only a couple could speak English, and only the foreman could speak it well. During the initial explanatory walk through before work began, I made it very clear to the foreman that I did not want anyone trying to move the refrigerator unless I was there. I explained the extremely close tolerances between certain sharp flanges on the refrigerator and the cabinets, and virtual certainty that someone not aware of those flanges would damage the cabinets. As an extra precaution, I put a note on the refrigerator which said "Please check with me before moving refrigerator". The foreman forgot to tell the other workers, and one of them, who could not speak or read English, proceeded to move the refrigerator and damage the cabinets in precisely the way I had feared. I have owned a number of houses over the years, including multiple rental properties, have hired many tradespeople to do a wide variety of jobs, and believe I have a good idea of what is reasonable to expect. Re-piping and drywall work are inherently messy jobs, but both crews were messier and more inattentive than I could have imagined. One or two of the plumbing guys was soldering copper pipe on my entry walkway, the edge of the planter which runs against the house, and in the driveway with nothing to protect the surfaces. Although I was concerned the paint on the planter would be scorched and stains left on the concrete they were working on, I didn't say anything, because I assumed they knew what they were doing. You know the rest. There are dark, unsightly stains on the concrete which I was unable to remove. The same guy who was soldering disturbingly close to the paint on the outside planter, tried to replace the hose bib on the side of the house. For some reason, he used 1/2" pipe instead of 3/4" pipe, which would have been much better and sturdier. His first attempt put the thing at a right angle to the stucco in such close proximity that scraped hands were sure to result when trying to turn the knob. It was also clearly not going to be solid enough and, if not secured much better, was going to wobble and eventually start leaking down the road from repetitive motion. He angled it away from the wall, and made an effort to secure it better, but it still stuck out too far and wobbled when you tried to turn the knob. He eventually broke out quite a bit of stucco, and secured it in a manner which appeared to be solid. It is still an odd sight, however, sticking out as far as it does on 1/2" pipe. The stucco repairs in the areas where stucco had to be removed were very crude, with no effort being made to clean up the stucco droppings before they dried. They therefore dried, and have proven impossible to remove. It was decided the best way to get pipe to the dishwasher and kitchen sink was to run it through the back of the cabinets. I was fine with that, but when I went to put things back into the cabinets was shocked to find piles of sawdust which no one had bothered to remove. There were two special shims which helped support one of the garage shelves I had to remove. I put them with the other shelf parts. When I went to put the shelf back in place, the shims were missing. One of the plumbers had obviously taken them to use, because I eventually found them by the water heater. One had been tossed through a drywall cutout in the water heater stand. While most of their finished work seemed OK, the drywall guys were especially sloppy. A few areas were so crudely done and with so much debris left behind, I had them go back and give the areas more attention. When I use a power saw, I always do it in the front yard, never inside the garage, because of the large amount of sawdust power saws generate. Had my house repiped last year by this company. Very disappointed with my experience. Talked to a manager prior to going with them and was lied to about if the repipe crew was part of their company. They were not, was a subcontractor, who was very difficult to deal with. Many other numerous issues. It was a total bait and switch as others have mentioned. The process from the beginning with Sean all the way through the end was very simple and straight forward. Crew came on time, knocked the repipe job in one day. The crew members were very polite, clean and respectful. Job was done professionally and no corners were cut. Patch work was great, not able to tell where holes were cut. Fantastic company to deal with. From the initial quote to the final inspection, every member of the crew was fantastic. They arrived on time, went right to work and only stopped for a short break. The work was all done in one day (actual repipe work) and then one full day for patch work. We had one minor flaw with an outside water spicket but they came back out and moved it for us with no problems. What I loved about this company was that I was so educated before we made the decision to do it and I am glad I got a quote from them first because it gave me a great baseline to go off of.
