I believe in honest reviews. Maverick responded quickly with an estimate to snake my kitchen sink to clear a clogged drain. They arrived and increased the quote from $150 to $270 because they had to disconnect the PVC pipe under the sink. I agreed to the increased price and noticed it took them 2 minutes to disconnect the PVC pipe! I asked why they needed to charge $120 for such an easy task! They said is $200 ok? And I said yes. They snake cleared the clog and when they put the PVC pipe back on, it was leaking a little. They quoted me an additional $120 to replace the PVC pipe under the sink. Total $320 for 90 mins of work. I'm not sure if that was a reasonable price but I paid it. He told me to call if I have any issues and he asked for a Yelp review therefore I'm giving my best one. read more

I am incredibly disappointed in what I can only call an attempt to squeeze money out of a female homeowner who looks like she can afford to pay. I bought a new house, plumbing, water heater all new. The only thing that bothered me was that the hot water worked everywhere except the showers. The sinks got hot perfectly fine. I know that it might not be a job for a plumber but I contacted a few anyway in hopes they could help. I specifically clarified that it was not an issue with the plumbing but the water controls. I was scared to DIY it myself. Maverick Drains responded quickly and scheduled an appointment in the next few days, which I appreciated. They arrived and without even opening the faucet controls ("If it broke, then it would be my fault") so I ended up unscrewing the faucet head myself only to be told that it was a blockage and the builders did a poor job cleaning up. All this diagnosis without barely touching or examining the faucet interiors. He gave me an estimate of $250 per faucet to "clean it out" and needed to go to the hardware store to get some parts. That didn't smell right. I asked to think about it. I googled adjusting safety valve on faucets, watched a bunch of YouTube videos, took a stiff shot of liquid courage and fixed both myself within 10 minutes. No blockage. I now have hot water without paying $500. So either this plumber was so incompetent he didn't know what the problem was when a complete amateur can, or he was trying to fleece a woman living alone out of $500. Both are equally distasteful to me. I would not trust this company at all. read more

Was referred to Santos Plumbing by a coworker who had used their service. Also called other plumbing companies but ultimately chose Santos Plumbing based upon their ability to thoroughly assess my home's need(spent over an hour discussing after diagnoses) and provide a honest professional action plan within my budget. I called Santos on Friday and the first question he asked me was whether the situation was an emergency. He wanted to understand if he needed to redirect some of his team to my house if needed....at no extra cost!!! After speaking with him for a few mins, I quickly understood that this is a business owner that cares about his clients. We scheduled to meet the next day so that he could diagnose the problem using state-of-the-Art equipment. After a thorough discussion of the options, I scheduled to have the job performed the next day. He and his team arrive at the arranged time and started working immediately. I could tell they were very familiar with the job and wasted no time throughout the job. Although it was a 90 degree day, his team was in high spirits from start to finish. Maverick Drains recently completed a major drain project at my daughter's home in Silverlake. The former owner had the majority of the roof drains capturing the water to drain downhill which is illegal. Santos did a complete inspection of the faulty system and recommended modifying the downspouts, installing connection piping to route all the water to the front of the house, and also inspected an underground system that conveyed water to the street. After inspection of that piping, lining was recommended as the piping did show signs of deterioration. All work was completed as if the installers were working on their own house. Water heater pilot went out, able to fix issue, with warranty along with providing estimate to replace.

We had wall leaking problems on two floors, they responded quickly. When they arrived they protected our floor and carpet, identify problems fast and fixed it very efficient. They solved both areas after opening up walls, they repiped and installed the walls back to normal, cleaned everything before they left. Since writing my first review, I've used Sam Plumbing for three additional jobs: replacing a garbage disposal, replacing the kitchen-sink faucet, and doing a pressure cleaning of the mainline. All three jobs were done in a timely and professional manner. For the sink faucet, Marc was able to customize the fit of the faucet product purchased from Home Depot, since the dishwasher ventilator prevented the entire faucet base from being installed. For the mainline cleaning, Santos first ran the camera to show me the roots growing into the mainline. He told me that a pressure cleaning would temporarily eliminate them (for about three years), or I could go with a long term solution of re-piping. I went with the pressure cleaning with a 6 month warranty. After the finishing the cleaning, he ran the camera again, and it was clear that the roots were gone and the entire line looked clear. I highly recommend Santos and his crew and will continue to use them for all my plumbing needs. Santos and his crew really know their trade, and seem to enjoy their work. read more
