I Reno Room!!! This place has quickly become my favorite hangout spot with my friends or partner and for good reason too! The vibe is amazing and the bartenders are the best! Whether it's a convo while you chill at the bar or giving you food recommendations, they will always make sure too keep you happy with what Reno Room had to offer! (Theres a reason theres two pictures of the same plate LOL!! Its my absolute favorite dish)

Zero stars. I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday because it was one of the few bars open early in the morning, and we thought it would be a fun and unique experience. Unfortunately, the bartender was incredibly rude to us from the moment we arrived. We got there at 7:00 AM and were cut off by 9:00 AM after only four shots each. What made the situation even more frustrating was that other locals we met at the bar mentioned they were already 10 shots in and agreed that how we were treated was unfair. I even tipped the bartender generously despite her attitude, hoping it might improve the service, but she remained unpleasant and hostile throughout our visit. If you're planning to celebrate a birthday or just want to have a fun early morning outing, or found this spot on TikTok a wanna try it out. I would NOT recommend this place.

Finally came for their famous Taco Tuesday, reading about it in Eater LA and the Long Beach Post. It is a classic dive bar from the 1950's, located in Long Beach, serving Mexican food from the attached kitchen (Cocorenos). It was a good experience, with good food. The Reno Room is a typical bar, and even though pretty empty around 3 pm, many of the bar booths had signs reserving it for groups later at night. Thus our group of three thought it better to sit in the small dining room next door at Cocorenos. A basket of really good corn tortilla chips were given along with some salsa. Tuesday drink specials were $5 - $10, including pints of draft Modelo's and house margaritas at the lowest end. (got two modelos for me and two margaritas for the girls...went great with the tacos). Taco Tuesday are different types of street tacos (classic two bite tacos in double corn tortilla with cilantro and onion). For the three of us, I ordered 18 tacos (3 each of beef, chicken, carne asada, shrimp, fish, and baja (fried fish)). Sides of guacamole and crema are $1.75 each, and one of each. We finished what we could (12, two of each) and brought the rest home for our 4th usual participant who couldn't make it this time. My personal favorite were the stewed shredded beef tacos. Even though hard shell tacos (taco dorado) are not included in the Taco Tuesday special, that shredded beef in hard shell with cheese and shredded lettuce would be outstanding. The two fish tacos were the weakest out of the lot, and the shrimp tacos used two jumbo shrimps for each one. The Reno Room and Cocorenos is considered one entity (food from coco, drinks from Reno) and work well together. Clover is the payment processor and there was easy payment at the table. There is a small angled parking lot to the side along with street parking where you can find it.

$5 drinks are ok, definitely getting what youre paying for. Food was pretty good on the other hand. We tried the flautas, tacos, and cali burrito. Loved the flautas, tacos werent bad but they force u to get an another one if you want a veggie taco. I only wanted to try them and they were alright. Cali burrito wasnt too bad either tbh.

Taco Tuesday deal is fantastic 1.95 for street style tacos with lots of great options including a mushroom taco. Add in the drink deals and the TouchTunes jukebox you've got yourself a great Tuesday night with food and fun!

How do I give 10 stars?!? I can't say enough about what a hidden gem and TREASURE this place is!! Let's start with the most amazing bar staff in the entire universe! Claudia, Mandira, April, Jenny, Roxy Yaya and Laura are by far the most hospitable, attentive, personable, genuine, (BEAUTIFUL!) drink-slingin' bartenders in this town! These ladies are the star of the show and make this bar truly special. They are led by superior management; Jenny, which is evident in every aspect of this place. From the ordering to the specials, to the events (karaoke! Plant Bingo!) and more, you won't find a problem here-but you will find a friendly patron to bend their ear and make a new friend. Full of locals and regulars, this is the most welcoming dive bar in all of Long Beach and it's truly special. There's a free lot to park in and also ample street parking all around. Play your fave touch tunes songs on the juke box to add to the chill vibes, and shoot a round of pool if that's your thing. And let's not forget the food! Partnering with Coco Reno's next door they offer some of the best Mexican food in the area! I love the shrimp quesadilla but a popular sleeper hit (and my personal fave) are the wings! I order them well done with the sauce on the side and they hit every single time! And can we TALK ABOUT THEIR HAPPY HOUR?!? From 3-4 they do a "Super" happy hour with drinks at $2.50!!!!! $2.50!!! For well cocktails and domestic beers! You absolutely can NOT beat that price anywhere! Normal happy hour is 5-7 Tues-Friday and alllllll day Mondays! And there is also a happy hour food menu with $5.50 lunch specials with full Mexican meals that are carve-worthy! And don't sleep on Taco Tuesdays- $2 street tacos that are delish and $4 margs! If you want a local bar where everyone knows your name and if you're looking to meet new people-this is your spot. It's the absolute best and you've got to come here! Drop me a comment if you do and tell the ladies Hillary sent you!

A friend of mine has been wanting to meet here for some time now... it finally happened this week. I will be back!! They have fantastic deals. Both food and drinks. Wow! You don't see those kind of prices many places anymore. It's nothing fancy but I did like it inside; it was my kind of place. Check it out if you're in the area.

Great service! Came here on a Friday night they had $5 margs and 1.95$ tacos. We tried the mushroom and asada tacos. The ambiance was great as it was also karaoke night (they are connected with the Reno room) super fun!

Came on a Sunday to watch football and get a little bit of food. The buffalo wings and bean and cheese burrito were pretty good. We got Lara as our bartender and she makes good vodka cranberry drinks. It just keeps getting better at this place.

Our son who lives in LA told us we HAD to go to the Reno Room for their "Famous Michelada" so we did. OMG are we glad we did. Not only is the way they make that drink (which is like a Bloody Mary made with beer) unique, it is killer!! Also - important to add that the food is awesome too. The Reno Room is tied to a fresh Mex place next door and the food was great. The "Cancun" salad was over the top with grilled shrimp, grilled mushrooms, avocado and mango. And a huge portion of probably top 5 salads I have had. Highly recommend

Food is good But very spicy Green enchiladas sauce was supper spicy couldn't enjoy it

It's not Reno, but that's ok because there's not much Room. One of four bars on a small stretch of Broadway in Belmont Heights between Euclid and Coronado, so it's much more a locals' bar than a destination bar. One's a tiny pourhouse, across the street, in something the size of a donut shop. One is a pub with a patio a block away that took over a LB institution. This retro dive is big and dark like 36/36, but it's a bit darker which is good because the bros can't start with the "what'cha looking at?" crap if they can't see you. In 2012, OC Weekly named it the #2 dive bar in Long Beach. But, then again, they named Carnation Gardens the best place to pick up women, so. Aside from the small parking lot, the bonus to Reno Room is it's connected to Cocoreno's, which hopefully explains why the girl next to you smells like pico de gallo. It opened in 1950 as an Art Deco bank (likely before the tinted windows and naked lady paintings) and was a favored spot for longshoremen and Bukowski, according to his drinking buddy and former CSULB professor Gerry Locklin, who gathered his students, co-workers, and guest speakers like Bukowksi and Ginsberg here. Said Bukowki, "I've never been lonely. I've been in a room -- I've felt suicidal. I've been depressed. I've felt awful -- awful beyond all -- but I never felt that one other person could enter that room and cure what was bothering me...or that any number of people could enter that room." Could he have meant the RENO room? Hmmm... "Wow, it's Friday night, what are you going to do? Just sit there?", Bukowski asked. "Well, yeah. Because there's nothing out there. It's stupidity. Stupid people mingling with stupid people. Let them stupidify themselves. I've never been bothered with the need to rush out into the night. I hid in bars because I didn't want to hide in factories."

Best bar food in Long Beach , Ensenada shrimp tacos are delicious. Great service from cook, bartender, and servers.

Is the Reno room 21+?

Reno Room is 21 and over. Cocoreños next door does serve food and that is when people underage are welcome to dine in.

What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.

My boyfriend and I stopped by a while ago with our fur baby, and we had a pretty great time! The service from the staff was excellent, I forgot his name, but the cook was very friendly and hospitable. For appetizers, we decided on pretzels and chicken nachos. We originally thought the pretzel would be one of those big, soft pretzels with a side of cheese, but to our surprise, they came as traditional pretzels with a side of yellow sauce. The sauce tasted similar to Chick-fil-A sauce and paired well with them. The chicken nachos were really yummy as well! The inside of the bar isn't dog-friendly; however, they do have a small outdoor patio where fur babies are welcome. I will say, I wish the patio was a bit more spacious, as it felt like I was practically sitting with the people around me due to how tight the space was. The inside of the bar is also a bit cramped. 1 Star - Worst Experience I've Ever Had at a Bar…read more I've been to The Blind Donkey in downtown Long Beach before but what happened last night deserves to be shared. I came here with a friend last night and ordered a blonde beer that tasted completely off -- it genuinely tasted like blue cheese. My friend encouraged me to ask for a replacement since something was clearly wrong with it. When she brought it to the bar, the bartender told her he'd replace it and that it was on the house, but then made her pay for the second drink anyway. If I had known she'd still be charged, I would've just not asked for another drink. When I came up to the bar to clarify why she paid for something he said was comped, the bartender backtracked and said he "didn't mean" that. I asked if they could void the second charge, since this was supposed to be a simple replacement. He kept explaining that he is charging us for this second one because it was not a blonde, it was a white ale. I told him that's fine, but why did he say it was "on the house" and now charging us anyway? He ended up bringing over the manager. The manager was a short, Latino man with a hat on. He was incredibly rude from the moment he arrived explaining the beer was a blonde- which I know what I ordered, but tasted whack. He didn't look at us, didn't listen to anything we were saying, and without asking a single question he grabbed both drinks we paid for and dumped them down the drain. We were stunned -- we paid for both of them and now had nothing. When he came back, I calmly told him we paid for both drinks he just threw out. His response? "Don't expect to come here and get free drinks." Which is wild considering we never asked for anything free -- we were just trying to get the mistaken charge fixed. When I told him he needed to void the drink he dumped, he called security on us. We weren't loud, drunk, or confrontational. Security refused to give us the manager's name, and only one finally whispered "Ken," though at that point it felt like they were just saying anything to get us out the door. I've worked in customer-facing roles before. I understand dive bars aren't known for luxury service, but this wasn't about service -- it was about basic respect, integrity, and not charging customers for drinks you throw away yourself. I'm leaving this review as a Long Beach local, it's saddening to see how a popular bar like The Blind Donkey treats their customers. This was the worst experience I've ever had.
