Swimming pool and hot tub with grotto and water features
Mario A.

Joel and Relaint pools built a phenomenal custom pool for my family and I. One of the chief reasons you'll want to choose Reliant over their competitors is because they will design a pool specifically for you, down to the smallest detail. When we were shopping for a company, all the rest came to us with cookie cutter designs that they already use. Joel and Reliant listened to what we wanted and built us something unique and custom for our space and our taste. Furthermore, the service you will receive from Reliant is second to none. Joel was always available and extremely responsive. The staff at Reliant is friendly and personable. Joel personally oversaw every phase of construction and was hands on making sure every detail was correct. Reliant worked fast, too. Our pool was complete sooner than expected. The different phases of work were seamless and everyone took great care of our home and yard as they worked. We couldn't be happier with the end result. The pool turned out AMAZING! Every aspect of our pool is of the highest quality. From the materials used to build it, to the equipment's reliability and ease of use, to the aesthetic beauty, and the pool's functionality, everything is perfect. I strongly suggest and even urge you to choose Reliant Pools.

--- Update ---- Our pool is done and it turned out quite nice. I'm still not overly pleased with some of the contractors, however, Elijah and Joel were more than willing to work with me on what the contractors billed me for. I will say, Elijah and Joel are honest guys who are genuinely good to work with. Could the project have been ran better? Yes. But, I do feel they will make any wrongs right, and they have. For that, I thank them. ===================== Our pool build started out really good. We chose Reliant after firing another pool company before they even started digging. Based on where our water and sewer meter was, it was our hypothesis that those lines most likely ran through the backyard. The other pool company (Waterview pools, you can read my review on them) was going to excavate without even finding where those lines ran. Had they hit those lines, that would have cost thousands in repairs out of our pocket. Since the other company was unwilling to do a pre-dig and they made numerous other errors like not calling the "Dig Line" first (against the law, by the way), we immediately fired them before they started. That brought us to Reliant Pools. Joel and his team were more than willing to do a pre-dig to find out if those lines were there. And sure enough, they were. We had to adjust the pool dimensions to compensate for that, but that wise decision saved us a lot of money and headaches. Joel had other suggestions like pre-wiring our irrigation before starting the pool so that we wouldn't trash all the zones. This is a very good suggestion, because if you're building a pool in the spring or summer months then you want to preserve as many irrigation zones (that have active grass growing) as humanly possible. Otherwise, you'll be hand watering for months to come. Now, where it went wrong. From the beginning we mentioned to Joel that our electrical panel needed to be checked out, because it was old and we doubted it's viability to support the amps. Joel did call the electrician to check it out first, but he never showed. Not until the electrical on the pool was started seven weeks into the project, and sure enough, our panel needed to replaced. This means pulling another permit, more inspections, and so forth. This time could have been saved had they actually assessed this from the beginning. This oversight easily cost us weeks additional to the project that otherwise could have been saved. Some sub-contractors were good (like the excavators), some not-so-much. Like anything there will be good and meh; however, you will need to micromanage your pool build if you want it done right. I was under the assumption that Joel would be out more often to make sure things were done correctly (and that was the primary reason we picked them), but unfortunately, he was not. Since I'm a stay-home-mom, I made it my mission to meet with the guys every time they showed up and talk with them on what needed to be done. I caught numerous things that should have been articulated to them, but were not or they simply forgot. For instance, the excavators were not clear on the pool depth (suppose to be 5.5 feet), the electrical team were putting the panel in the wrong place, the tiling guys did not know that a step needed to go into the tanning ledge, the spray deck guys missed a section. Fortunately I caught these mistakes early on. Lastly, our timeline got way drawn out. I mean, ridiculously so. Our pool is basic. Very basic. It's a rectangular pool with no heat or hot tub and we didn't even add decking. Footnote: Recommendations if you are considering putting in a pool. 1) DO IT IN THE WINTER!!!! You'll thank me later, but it saves your grass and irrigation since it's dormant. Additionally, the contractors are less busy, so schedules are easier to nail down, and they enjoy working in the cooler weather, which means a better product (or at least, that's my opinion). We started ours in late spring and thought it would be done in eight weeks. As it went into the hot summer months, I saw progress on the pool slow down substantially and contractors became scarce. 2) If you want it done right, then MICROMANAGE it. That means talking to the subcontractors daily, inspecting their work nightly and making sure it meets your expectations. Make sure everyone is clear on what needs to get done that day. 3) Your yard will get trashed. And I mean, not just a hole-in-the-ground trashed, but I mean, there will be piles and piles of trash in your backyard for months to come. There will be rodent families making their home in your new found junkyard. If you're anything like my husband and I, it will drive you crazy. It's also dangerous debris everywhere, so be aware if you have children running around. I just found a razor blade a couple days ago. Actually, my toddler found it. Nice! 4) Read the details in the contract and what they vs. you are liable for.

Joel and Elijah are pool masters. The design phase was all about our pool and not what they wanted to sell. Elijah was patient, creative and by far the best prepared to gather all of the information needed for my first proposal. He worked with us during the entire design process and never pushed us in a direction that was away from our the original thoughts of our dream pool. He made suggestions that were appropriate and was clear when my ask was one that would compromise their desire for quality. During construction, Joel and his subs were professional, respectful and organized. Joel is there everyday and checks in to make sure we are on track. He also made suggestions regarding the design and as a result we made some changes that really improved our pool environment. Joel has continued to check in nearly 10 months later to make sure the pool in all that we expected. He is a true pro. Reliant pools is the pool builder you use when you want "your" pool not the pool the pool company wants to sell you. We will use them again.

My husband and I highly recommend Reliant Pools. Prior to building our pool, we met with numerous pool builders in the Austin area over a course of three years. Determined not to settle, we continued our search until we were confident we had found a builder whom we could trust to build a high quality product at a reasonable price. Reliant Pools not only met, but exceeded our expectations in every way. From design to finish, they were timely and professional. We are thrilled with the outcome of our project, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend to family and friends.

Pool and Cabana

We had met with a couple of pool builders before going with Reliant Pools. Joel and Donny were great to work with and very knowledgeable. Being in the city of Austin, we had frustrations with the permitting process, etc but Reliant knew the ropes and handled it all for us. The team of contractors that work with Reliant are kind, respectful, hardworking and truly the best in their craft. The end result is a very high quality product. We have a dream backyard with a cabana that now makes our backyard actually enjoyable. If you are seeking the next-level pool, Reliant is your company.

Thankfully, a logistics company named We-Gotchu Logistics and Tanner, owner, saved the day. I had to order a crane so that we could take it over a privacy fence. I did all this on my own, except for Tanner, who made an exception to put me first in line and specifically gave me a time he would be here, so as not to run up my bill with the crane company. He did just that and more. Since we never heard from Vince after he finished the paperwork on the Spa and collected his money, I would say service after the sale is zero. Don't take any chances with Vince or Paradise Spas.

It was then that I started calling Paradise Spas for delivery. It is now April 14th, and I CANNOT get anyone to give me a delivery date. I have called multiple times per week, and no one ever calls me back. Today, I asked for a refund of my money, and they said, "All sales are final." Well, okay, all sales are final, but then a PRODUCT is typically given for a sale. They took our money, and we sat without a hot tub for four weeks. This was not just for fun; my husband had seven knee surgeries, and the doctor said it would be good therapy for him, so there is that, too. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. I will update this review if and when I get the tub or my money back.

HARD PASS. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!…read more Moved to a new house and shopping for pool service. Submitted an online request on their website Wednesday around 9 AM. Out of the 5 companies I submitted a request to, they were the 2nd ones I reached out to but the last ones to reach out back to me (excluding the auto-generated "thank you" text which the other pool companies sent as well). Lisa from the office called me Wednesday at 5:38 PM and said she could have a tech come out the next day to give me a quote. Jose came out Thursday around noon. He was super nice and professional. He said he would get me 3 different quotes for the 3 type of packages they offer by the end of the day or the next day (Friday) in the morning at the latest. By Friday at 4:25 PM, I had yet to receive anything so I called and spoke to Lisa and she said they'll send it over shortly. They sent 2 quotes (not 3) at 4:40 PM. Monday morning at 10 AM, I called to discuss the quotes for further clarification, especially since the links weren't working. Lisa said she's going to call Jose and call me right back. She never did. Tuesday morning at 8:28 AM, almost a week after I had initially reached out, I called saying they never called me back and asked to speak to a manager. She put me on the phone with Jose and he was a totally different person than the guy that came out to the house. He kept interrupting me and talking over me. He was rude saying I didn't know anything about pools (that might be true but this is not my first house with a pool and that's not something you'd say to a prospective client), and making excuses for their lack of responsiveness. If they're this bad when they're trying to earn my business, I can't imagine how bad they are once they do earn it. Reading some of their other reviews, I should've just never reached out to begin with. TLDR: Unresponsive, unprofessional/rude, overpromise/underdeliver. Ended up going with a different pool company that responded right away and was able to get me on the schedule immediately.

If…read moreyou want incompetent workers, who leave trash on property, men who do NOT communicate things at all, dump unwanted sand all over your grass to smother the grass, ring the doorbell incessantly, look no further. They were tasked with emptying our pool's sand filtration system, and as per the line items on the agreement it SAYS 'remove sand and haul off property." So what did these guys do? They DUMPED the entire sand contents onto our grass property next to the pool house. I was livid. We were not informed they'd be doing this (nor did we want random sand spread ALL over our lawn!?), and then they just left like we wouldn't notice mounds of sand?! It wasnt even dumped in one spot, it was SPREAD all over our property like someone was building a sand pit. They left trash next to our pool and around our pool house area (zip ties, cut tubing, screws). I have a 1 year old who eats everything so as a mother, this is obviously insane someone would leave choking hazards around. Not to mention leaving trash in general is unbelievable unprofessional. It was packaging for the pool lights. Oh boy lets talk about that! They installed new pool lights, tested it extensively while here, only for my husband and I to try them out and realize 1 of them flickered like crazy and flat out stopped working. What on earth was this guy testing all that time during the day!? One guy came to do all the chemicals in the pool after fully draining it to pressure wash the pool, he didn't even have a vacuum to remove all the dang sand. He CLAIMS he was informed of it too late and he was already on his way. Don't care, unprofessional, yet again. You mess something up, you fix it immediately. Any respectable company would do this. It's been a week and they said they'd be back to vacuum up the sand on monday. Come Monday, did anyone show up? NOPE. Not even a phone call saying they cannot make it. I'm so pissed Ace Hardware has the audacity to display these guys' business on their front doors, btw. The Ace in Georgetown. Laziest worst communicating business I've ever encountered. These guys are the absolute WORST bothersome stressful group of men I've ever seen run a 'business'. I've lost sleep over how awful these guys are. UPDATE: they came today to "clean up the sand", check the photos. Plenty of sand still present. They clearly didn't vacuum it like promised. I saw the beardy employee just sweep it around looks like he used dirt and leaves to spread it around on top of the sand still present. This isn't even fine sand, it's incredibly thick! What a joke.

Buyer Beware I…read morepurchased a Dimension One spa from this location after being assured by the salesperson that it met my top priorities: reliability, strong customer service, and low maintenance. I made it very clear during the sales process that these were non-negotiable for me. In fact, I was already prepared to purchase a Bullfrog spa from another dealer but decided to stop here before making my final decision. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!  Unfortunately, I now know the salesperson misrepresented key facts in order to close the sale. After working with the service department six times over the past year, it has become clear that Dimension One has severe reliability issues (and has for a long time) and is no longer a viable brand. I've since learned the company is bankrupt and widely regarded as one of the worst options in the industry for the very criteria I emphasized during my purchase, and was known by the salesman.  I have owned this spa for over a year, and for the last six months it has not functioned properly at all. This is not a reflection of the service department, who have been professional and responsive. The issue is that I was sold a defunct product by a salesperson who knew the true condition of the brand. I regret trusting the information I was given and feel misled or defrauded into purchasing a product that does not align with what was promised. I strongly encourage potential buyers to do extensive research and proceed with caution before purchasing from this business.

When our spa cover, which we'd purchased new along with the spa, needed replacement after being damaged in a hailstorm, we ordered a replacement cover, but the salesman wrote incorrect instructions on the order form, resulting in a cover that didn't fit our spa. My wife spoke with the manager Chris, who said he would speak with the manufacturer and look for solutions. When we hadn't heard back from A-Tex for a week and a half, we decided to order a replacement cover from another vendor. Just before we were about to place the order, Chris phoned informing us that our "new cover" was in and ready for delivery, and asked us to pay half the cost. We told A-Tex that as long as they'd had the cover fabricated we would accept it, but would not pay for the new cover since it was fully covered by our insurance company. A-Tex agreed to this as long as we would pay a $75 delivery charge in cash. When the replacement cover was delivered, the first thing A-Tex's delivery people did was cut the old spa cover in half. The new cover turned out to be only half as thick and heavy as the first cover. Since the original cover was destroyed, we had no choice but to pay the $75 delivery fee and accept the replacement. When my wife spoke with our salesman and with Chris about these issues, Chris was extremely rude and said, "You've already taken enough of my time and I'm not talking to you any more" and hung up on her. Every step of the way, A-Tex's staff has been unresponsive, careless, deceptive and rude with us. We eventually brought the matter to the attention of our credit card company, disputing the charges on the basis of fraud.
