But this review is about something bigger than dessert. The strawberry cheesecake here reminds me of my mom. It was her favorite, and it was one of the last desserts I got to share with her. Anytime she wanted a sweet treat, that's what she asked for. Ordering it now keeps me connected to her. This past July, on her 3rd birthday in heaven, I placed an order to celebrate her. The menu only had cherry cheesecake that day, so I wrote a note explaining what the strawberry meant to me. The staff didn't just make it happen, they sent an extra slice of strawberry cheesecake on top of it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. The people here have always been this kind. We love everyone who works there, and we're grateful for the small moments of care they've shown our family. Thank you for everything.

Beef and Arugula Focaccia (4.5/5): If you can't grab a bacon and chive focaccia then this is their next BEST one! The outside is crunchy while inside is perfectly chewy and moist. Love this! Vanilla Kouign Amann (4.5/5): They do their Kouign Amanns close to perfection here. Theirs comes with the infamous caramelized sugar bottom and the inside is nice and fluffy with layers of buttered croissant like bread. Well done! Double Chocolate Croissant (2/5): This was not good as when I bit into the pastry it was flat and soft. Not a good chewiness or flakiness at all.

Regina Bakery in Brooklyn is an old school bakery! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with charm and warmth. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting, making it the perfect spot to indulge in some delightful treats. I had the pleasure of trying their raspberry and chocolate cigars, and let me tell you, they were divine! Both were flakey and moist, bursting with flavor in every bite. The combination of raspberry and chocolate was simply heavenly, and I couldn't get enough. In addition to the cigars, I also indulged in their chocolate-dipped pretzels. Each pretzel was expertly coated in rich chocolate, striking the perfect balance between salty and sweet. It was the ideal treat to satisfy my cravings. An Italian bakery with a huge selection of breads, pastries, cookies and cakes. You can buy some cookies by the pound, too. They are very friendly. Their Prosciutto Bread is my personal favorite -- cubed prosciutto, black pepper, cheese, and incredibly soft fresh bread. It's honestly good enough to be a meal by itself. I recently visited their 5th Avenue location in Bay Ridge, and what makes this spot even better is that it's not just a bread store -- it's a full bakery. The Onion Bread was fantastic, with sweet caramelized onions over soft focaccia. The Olive Bread, made with imported Sicilian black olives, had a great crust outside while staying soft and pillowy inside. Their seeded Semolina Twist is another must, especially warmed up with some butter or good olive oil. The sweets were just as impressive. The cannoli are filled to order, which makes a huge difference -- crispy shell and a delicious creamy filling. The pistachio croissant doughnut was buttery, soft and packed with pistachio cream, while the pistachio Cookie Tart was probably one of the most unique things I tried. The Biscoff Cake was also excellent and definitely worth trying if you're a Biscoff fan. And I can't forget the round focaccia with tomato sauce and onions. Warm that up slightly and it becomes seriously addictive. Il Fornaretto has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and after visiting the Bay Ridge location, I have even more reasons to recommend them. Whether you visit Bensonhurst strictly for the bread or Bay Ridge for the full bakery experience, this is absolutely a place worth checking out.
