    Pistachio cake!
    Lucy M.

A friend ordered a pistachio birthday cake from here and I was so excited because I love pistachio and it's not used nearly enough by anyone, for anything. It was incredible! There are real tiny nut chunks baked into the moist and fluffy cake, and they seemed to be in the frosting too. I'm not a cake person, so I did take off some of the frosting from my piece, but that I ate a whole piece at all is a testament to how good this cake is. They sell individual pieces so it's worth it to come and give it a try!

They just miiiiiight be putting CRACK in this cake. It's so addictive and so good!

Okay, so i was able to cop a slice of the banana cake for a friend who was visiting from out of town. The owner/baker was SO NICE and even let me in this afternoon even though they were technically closed. The selection was limited (only cuz they weren't really open), so i wisely settled on the banana cake cuz i KNEW it was gonna be lit after having tried it last year. ::Spoiler Alert:: The cake was declared to be the best in the land. My friend actually put her hand to her forehead like she was remembering a lost love. Genuinely puzzled, with misty eyes, she exclaimed, "Oh my goodness - WHAT are they putting in this cake???" Having had some myself and also forced to wonder, i had no answer for her. We both just know that it's moist, sweet (without being overly so), delicious, and tastes homemade. i personally don't know HOW i'm gonna manage my new low-sweets diet with Cake Ambience putting out the quality of deliciousness that they've got going on.

Banana pudding cake DELISH. OMG so so good. Moist, fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. So good.

I honestly drove from Bayonne NJ hoping for the black cake. They were sold out . But the pistachio and banana pudding were a very pleasing surprise. Well worth cheating on my diet for. But I will be paying the $16 thru the Holland tunnel to return for this cake and hopefully the BLACK cake will not be some out. . So so so good

What a neighborhood gem. I like my life simple. Just give me the cake and that's it. I stumbled on it and have been addicted to the place ever since. Don't expect a fancy ambiance, the only ambiance they are giving is that cake! All the flavors are good, so you really can't go wrong. I had the pistachio, banana pudding, and carrot cake. The cake is moist and the filling is extremely edible. It is not that store-bought Pillsbury icing (no shade). You feel like they put a little tenderness and love just to get the flavor of the icing right. My favorite is the pistachio, but I think this is the best carrot cake I have ever had. The raisins in that carrot cake stick out to me. #Repeatcustomer

Small Mom and Pop style bakery that I can't get enough of! Moist, decadent cake with the right amount of sweetness! Second time getting both of these slices and I'm hooked. Service is always nice and quick. I need to try different flavors on my next visit but they are truly a hidden treasure!

I returned to Cake Ambiance and tried their chocolate cake for the first time. I wish I took a photo before I dug in because the slice I received was HUGE. I can happily say that it was the best chocolate cake I've ever had. I will definitely be returning.

Delicious cakes! My favorite is the banana pudding and the pistachio :) The price has increased about 8$ per slice.

Creamy but so good. Also grabbed a few baked goods: - gf brown sugar corn muffin... lowkey my favorite. Soft, slightly sweet, didn't even feel gluten-free. - earl grey morning bun -- light, flaky, and had that subtle tea flavor without being too much. Everything felt fresh and made with care. Definitely going back.

The wait was longer because we had to wait for the specials to come out from the oven, otherwise we could've just skipped the line and ordered directly at the counter. *Mango Lassi Croissant $15 Simply amazing. Ngl a $15 croissant should be illegal...but I went speechless after the first bite. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY I am not even a huge mango lover like anybody does, but WOW this mango croissant was seriously the BEST mango pastry EVER. The pastry shell held flaky and crunchy, and the center was filled with a labneh cheesecake and mango gelee. We were surprised the filling wasn't liquid-y at all and held up well! We also tried the new Artichoke and Green Garlic Foccacia ($9), and the Fennel and Sausage Foccacia ($9). I get their foccacia slice every time I'm here and they never let me down. So pillowy and delicious.

Even though there is a line, you do not feel rushed or pressured to order quickly. On this visit we ordered plain croissant, chocolate croissant-fresh out of the oven, rhubarb croissant, black forest pastry and brown butter corn cake. The chocolate croissant was amazing. It is triple chocolate and cocoa powder is in the dough. It is filled with milk and dark chocolate, so creamy. The plain croissant was flaky and light. The brown butter corn cake was crispy and caramelized on the outside and soft and moist. The Black Forest croissant is a seasonal offering. It is made with their Triple Chocolate Croissant filled with chocolate cake and sour cherries and topped with mascarpone cream , Rhubarb & Custard Croissant . It is tart and sweet. The rhubarb is roasted and complimented with sweet vanilla custard. They all were excellent. Each were about $8. Highly recommend and don't let the line deter you .

If you have not been fortunate to salivate and then dine on ANY item that RB offers, then all I can say is, " Sorry for you!" Lol! Does it live up to the hype? YES! YES!YES! I am in love with their sandwiches, first 1. THE BREAD: worth the cheat... baked on premises. You can see it live when you walk in here and on India street. Repeat after me.. BAGUETTE..BRIOCHE..FOCACCIA..CIABATTA 2. THE OPTIONS... Repeat after me: TURKEY KALE BASIL PESTO.. TUNA..SPICY TOFU.. HAM WITH ROSEMARY BUTTER Your eyes are starting to dance.. there is a huge smile on your face, you feel a bit unsteady as the server asks "What can I get for you?" and you point to the sandwich display case and say"I want THAT, THIS and come to think of it... Service: TOP NOTCH My fave is the Turkey Kale and Pesto on Sesame Focaccia.. the kale is marinated with lemon juice and olive oil, turkey is a mix of light and dark meat, the pesto has pine nut and pecorino. Yummmmmm.. I was asked if I wanted a bag, yes, one that is big enough to pack the entire store! There are a plethora of fine eateries in Prospect Heights which I am always exploring... However, when your exploration leads you to a gem, like RB, or your fave song, you want it over and over again. There is always a line, they let clients in one at a time or in twos.
