We were taking our time enjoying dinner when the waitress dropped the check and then very obviously checked to see if we had paid every other minute. Then when we finally felt pressured to pay and leave (we would have stayed longer and enjoyed some more conversation and food) she stood over our table and watched as we tipped and signed our checks. WARNING! UNSANITARY! It started out great with delicious food, excellent variety and then, on a second trip to the sushi bar... a COCKROACH crawling back and forth along the side of the sushi tray! Totally disinterested sushi "chef" could not be roused from his seat to come look! Another nearby "chef" FINALLY came over and picked up the COCKROACH with a napkin saying "Thanks" to me for pointing it out. That was it! No removing of the COCKROACH tainted tray(s) of sushi; no cleaning of the trays or bin... nothing! I told the manager and he immediately commented, "I call every week to have restaurant sprayed; I'll call again tomorrow!" so obviously this is an ONGOING PROBLEM!! You can never go wrong with Jumbo, and it's my go-to when I'm back in the 610. Great mix of hibachi, sushi, and every other Chinese American delicacy you could dream of. So pleased I took a friends advise and gave them a shot. The buffets in the Pottstown area have gone down in quality. Well worth the drive, even on the later side of Sunday night food was being replenished and the selections was great. Everything was clearly labeled even the Sushi which gave me the confidence to try and enjoy this so much more. The variety of food and desserts was very good I fulled up before trying the Hibachi but will do so next trip. The $14 price to me was barging with Hibachi and Sushi included, they don't charge extra for crab-legs either! Typical weird buffet decor but very clean and comfortable. This used to be my go-to spot for Chinese food and cheap sushi. Unfortunately, quality here seems to be on the decline. Shrimp is no longer offered on the hibachi bar during lunch. If you come for dinner or holiday, it is significantly more expensive with only limited improvements in selection. Crab legs, the most notable addition to the dinner menu, are always empty at the buffet. People actually stand there waiting and waiting for a small serving that is quickly devoured by the crab-hungry queue. Service remains prompt and I've never had a bad meal here but I'm no longer "wowed" by my dining experience for the $ as I used to be. Was in the area and decided to go to Jumbo China Buffet for lunch. The cost was the dinner price ($16+) "all day", cost that was double the normal cost for lunch. Merry Christmas?!? Never had to wait to get in and they are expanding their place currently for even more seating/serving room. The prices are terrific no matter what time of day you go. Extensive choices for everyone no matter how picky. My boyfriend LOVES the sushi selection. There is plenty to choose from and something for everybody at a reasonable cost. However, with the size of a buffet like this most items are obviously frozen and simply defrosted which makes it "okay" in comparison to other Asian restaurants. It's not bad, but it's not great either. The associates that were with me all said the desserts were not fresh and probably stale. This may be a result of freezing and defrosting though -- but then again, one doesn't really go to a Chinese buffet for dessert. Me and my sister are vegetarians, so this buffet is great for us. The sushi changes daily, but when there is only fish sushi out, the chef will make us something special that we can eat. The food is generally fresh, and the lo mein tastes great. Sometimes, they have fresh mango in the fruit/dessert area. Seating is spacious, and the facilities are clean and updated. Only downside is lack of sesame buns, but it seems most Chinese buffets are getting rid of those. read more

This formerly was a ok place to eat, not anymore. I was there last evening with a friend and the food was horrible. My friend was able to enjoy the shellfish but that was the only edible item. I complained and they would do nothing to give me satisfaction. I was unable to eat anythibg and they insisted on charging me the full buffet price due to that i put food on a plate, which they threw away, due to it being dried out and unchewable. Food was great but the service was absolutely horrible. I paid with my credit card and was going to leave a cash tip on the table. When the waitress, who was not even the one who attended us, came to pick up the signed slip from me, she said out loud, "Not tip?!". I said ma'am I was going to leave a tip on the table. So she walked off angrily. Not only that but throughout the entire stay they just hovered around us and asked each time if that was our last plates, as if they wanted us to leave as fast as we came in. I couldn't enjoy my food as I felt hurried. I have never felt so embarrassed like this before after giving my hard earned money to someone for their service. It is absolutely disturbing someone would do that. As I said the food was very good and tasty. They have huge and wide variety; alas some of the staff need to be trained a bit more on their customer service skills. My husband and I love sushi, so hitting this buffet for $11 or $12 a person is so worth it! It's even cheaper if you go at lunch (before 3 or so I think.) Depending on who is doing the sushi or how busy it is depends on the kind of sushi and the variety, but there's usually at least 6 or 7 (minimum) kinds of sushi/sashimi. Along with hibachi and a great variety of other foods! Most of the staff is very nice as well. Although the staff who replenish the food on the buffet line will often cut you off or even bump into you with their carts. Other than that, we love it. We go often! read more

I like to go on the weekdays because it is lower price. We tried Sunday because there is a sign that said Lobster and crab on Sunday for higher price. They had people waiting for crab and brought only enough for 2 people and then someone brought lobster legs and tiny pieces cut up. no tail, just small pieces and only enough for about 2 people when there were several people waiting. they bring only a hand full out every 20 or 30 minutes and people nearly fight for them. it is false advertising. I had 2 tiny thin crab legs and a bite of lobster from (God knows what part of) the lobster. the salmon was pink on the sushi but the sashimi salmon must have been anemic because it looked like it was cheap or silver salmon. I heard people asking if there was crab or lobster and the kitchen crew was rude or didnt answer them. There was no oysters and I feel bad for the workers because they are not the ones. The manager tells the waitresses to hound the customers to pay the check and the manager told me they get in trouble if someone leaves without paying, so they pressure people to pay and watch closely when you stop eating. I enjoy if Im there on the weekdays but the weekends are crazy, and it ruins the experience. read more

First, let me preface this review with the fact that I don't really care for buffets and watching the great unwashed pile their plates with soggy crab legs and fried nuggets kinda grosses me out. However, this buffet had a few pleasant surprises and I ended up eating my twenty bucks worth in seaweed salad alone. The restaurant itself is huge, but the waitstaff is quick to refill and clear. There are the usual greasy buffet favorites, both american and chinese and a hibachi station. The winners for me were the cold squid salad, eggplant salad and the nice selection of clams and fish. The two real surprises were the perch, which was tender and buttery (I had never had perch) and a sushi item called Yaki. That was a square piece of nori wrapped up around rice and eel with some red roe on top to create a little boat. The sushi chef had just put it out, it was visually beautiful and seemed a little fresher than the other sushi selections. I ended my meal with some very good fresh fruit and a tiny moist piece of coconut cake. So, all in all, if you ignore the patrons carbo loading on slimy lo mein and concentrate on the more unusual selections, this buffet can be a good value and decent experience. read more
