Just got back from having a night out with my bf here and first off the waiter we had was nice. My bf though had ordered his steak medium rare and it had came back well done which we just decided than to swap out meals but the main issue and concern we had after here was the fact my bf out of nowhere got really sick....this was after he had the crab dip. Mind you he is not allergic to fish or anything else that is in there so I'm not sure if something was bad in the dip since it did taste kind of weird but we could not pin point what it was but definitely just be careful with the food that has seafood it honestly was horrible to see my bf get this sick out of nowhere. read more

We have visited Red's Table on several occasions and have always enjoyed a great overall experience. Last night was no exception. I had specifically chosen Red's for a relaxing, calm experience as we had a number of family members visiting including my elderly Mom. We have discovered the hard way that the majority of RTC restaurants are crowded and noisy, not ideal when good conversation is your desire. We had requested to be seated on the outside patio and our table was ready upon arrival Unfortunately, there was a party which had completed dinner but had turned the patio into a happy hour event...lots of yelling and extremely loud. Way beyond ability to hear or be heard. We asked to relocate inside and the staff was very accommodating in making that happen. As it turned out, staff also relocated the HH partiers to the side patio, which made such a difference that we were able to stay outside on a beautiful night. Staff are to be commended for their customer service. As for our meal, the craft beer selection was awesome and our calamari appetizer followed by entrees of fried chicken (a couple of us had that), chicken and vegetable hash, rockfish and spaghetti and meatballs were all delicious. Service was attentive and timely. Everyone had an enjoyable evening and we will continue to support Red's over the crowded, noisy and now pay for park RTC. read more

Four stars for great local farm to table concept in a newly remodeled Space strategically located in a tucked-away strip mall overlooking placid Lake Audubon! With a new and improved menu that includes choices to please a broad audience, this place is now great for after work gatherings, award or promotion parties, or just a casual girls' night get-together. After a change of ownership about a year and a half ago, this formerly dated little restaurant underwent a magnificent cosmetic and menu transformation! The interior changes created a vibrant ambience with maximized space, updated interior with sleek, modern lines and an effusion of light in the open and airy dining area with (heated in winter) patio overlooking the lake. Visual aspect aside, the biggest changes came with the menu offerings. Red's Table management introduced beautifully plated, nuanced flavors combinations made from whole, fresh, easily recognizable ingredients cultivated by local farmers. Lunch and dinner menu items are even served in small portions during a daily happy hour from 4 to 6 PM paired with specially-priced beers, wine, and cocktails. Where else in the area can you get a glass of quaffable vino for $5!?! read more

The ambience was amazing, and the restaurant took care of us socially distancing from others. The food was absolutely amazing, and even though we couldn't sit on the patio because of a private party, the view was awesome. I'd definitely go back anytime I'm in the area. UPDATE: Decided to remove comment about dry aged beef since I can't with certainty make claim one way or the other considering the brioche and cheese that masked the flavor and I am removing the comment about pre-cooked then fried chicken since I didn't observe the process, but it sure tasted like precooked and then burnt in the frier. However everything else stands as per my original review and hope it will help the owner improve things for future visitors. If it wasn't for my ladies and the fact that no one can screw up freshly shucked oysters (unless oysters have been out of the ocean for a while), this would likely have been one of the worse dinner experiences in recent times! According to my kid, who shared a burger with mom, the burger was so and so, served with fries that were soggy and half burnt rather than fried. My buttermilk fried chicken was beyond horrible. The so called chef, appears to not have a clue how to properly deep fry chicken ensuring its cooked through while making sure it ends up crispy on the outside. To make things worse, as the fry process was burnt, he or she tried to cover it up with some kind of mayo based aioli of unknown flavor, which was all served with stale sliced pickle and sautéd spinach. The spinach was likely prepared a week ago or so and then reheated under salamander (assuming they had one in the kitchen)...horrible! To add to this "great experience" the glass of Malbec I ordered, tasted like ripple @$10 per glass, and waiter had no clue do they have a liter, 750ml or 1/2 liter San Pellegrino water packaging even after I tried to lead him to the approximate size by showing him sizes and asking is it this or that. I wanted 1/2 or 1/4 a liter bottle that you can usually get in so called fine dining places, which this clearly was not, and I ended up with the largest size there is like I came to take shower not have a dinner (showed me that waiting staff has no clue what they are selling)...all in all I paid this junk dinner around $105.00 for which three of us could have had a nice sushi experience, but ok sometimes you end up on the short end of the stick when you visit a joint based on some, clearly bs, reviews in Washington Post which is what made my better half to say lets check it out. Ok we did and my advice to my local friends is, avoid this place in huge circle! Came here on a weekday for dinner after a friend suggested it to us. We sat in the back outdoor seating space overlooking the lake. We were initially bummed bc of the rain and weren't sure the patio seating would work out but the ambiance exceeded our expectations. It was nice and cozy from the space heaters. They covered the perimeter with plastic to prevent the rain from coming in. Beautiful string lights hung from the ceiling and created such a nice and intimate atmosphere. The view was amazing. We really loved the honey glazed wings and crab cakes. We likely won't be ordering the pasta again bc of how bland it was for us, but the service was fantastic. It was a bit on the pricier side, but perfect for a special date night and/or celebratory lunch/dinner! read more

I came here for dinner with a friend and this place was really good! Nice ambiance and great location looking over the lake. We got a charcuterie board and it honestly wasn't anything special however I got a dish with the homemade pasta and it was to die for! I'm still craving it to this day. Bar is packed (they have great happy hour) so we opted to sit outside. It was freezing on Friday night, so they had the plastic down and heat lamps on. The lamps don't do much especially since they have the fans on as well and one heater wasn't working. Food is pretty good. It's not cheap, but it's decent. I really want to love this restaurant. Great location, great concept. The food is a big disappointment. The goat cheese fritters, mentioned in another review, were not terrible, but were emblematic of the basic underlying problem with the food--the dishes are way over complicated and rely far too much on the addition of FAT. We got the chicken breast with "creamed kale" and roasted fingering potatoes, hoping for something tasty and simple. Indeed, the chicken in the cider reduction sauce was fantastic and the fingerlings were fine. The kale, however, was basically a soup of butter and heavy cream with bits of kale floating by upon which the chicken and potatoes were dumped. Yuk! And that was the lightest entree on the menu! The prices are also very high and there is virtually nothing on the menu for a simple weeknight dinner. Please guys, lighten up the food. Let your fresh fare speak for itself and don't overreach with complex dishes that are not appropriate for the neighborhood gem you could be. We eat out a lot, and only usually write reviews when we're impressed. The new chef here is absolutely phenomenal. The crab bisque was hands-down the best soup either of us has ever had, and the chef even explained how he makes it taste so great to us. All of the food was fantastic, actually. Prices were pretty standard, but the food was next-level. The food could have cost 150% more and I'd still be satisfied. Also, excellent drink menu, friendly staff (Justin the bartender was so awesome), and GREAT atmosphere - right on the lake, outside seating, live music, happy hour specials. My expectations where high, it looked like a great local menu i went in and it was a nice location, unfortunately it was a bad food experience. I had the smokey chicken wings.. not smoked or crispy at all, just soggy wings. The cherry glen Goat fritters: the cheese was good, i love the cherry glen company but the sauce they served on the bottom was too sweet, not a good combination. Spiced roasted pumpkin w/ ricotta: i was expecting a nice appetizer showcasing roasted pumpkins .. it was actually a pumpkin puree with excessive curry spice and pieces of bread - wouldn't have ordered this if it actually said puree or dip on the menu. Here comes the worst.. the Fried Chicken.. OMG so gross tasted old and frozen not fresh at all i couldn't have one bite of this. The food and drinks were sent in incorrectly had to wait for my salad while my husband was finishing his main course. The waitress had apologized and comped a round of drinks I believe- it happens, so no big complaints there. Overall the service we received from our waitress was not bad. The sitting arrangement was the issue for me. The hostess told us that we couldn't seat at the 4 top tables because it was only two of us when most of the 4 tops on the patio were occupied by couples only, so really it was blah after that. I love the bar service, usually we go to the happy hour, never had any issues but also the service at the bar is less demanding vs having a full-seat-down-meal type experience. read more

The oysters fresh and delicious, the goat cheese fritters melt in your mouth, the crab dip I just started scooping out with my spoon and the short rib was fall apart, flavorful, perfectly cooked goodness. So if you're going for a good dinner with a friend or two, this is a good place. I've been before many times. I love the ambiance. That's why I chose it for my and my husband's joint birthday dinner. Finding a place for 16 people is tough, so I called a few days ahead of time and they said they'd accommodate us in the private dining room. How cool is that?!? I was looking forward to it. Then at the dinner, we were eating and drinking and celebrating and then without warning, it just... ended? Why??? The waitress never introduced herself so I don't know her name. She started splitting up the bills and giving us checks and not a soul had ordered dessert. Yes, we were there for a few hours. I understand wanting to turn it over, but we walked out of the room and the place was empty (only 5-10 occupied tables). I wanted the 'tiramisu' that she told us about when she was telling us the specials. I didn't get my birthday dessert. Honestly, I didn't push it because our bill was astronomical anyway but it still made me sad. We were so rushed out that I didn't grab a menu to scrapbook or the flowers that my friends brought. Reds table has a great outdoor eating area, set amongst trees and a beautiful lake. On summer or fall days, this outdoor area is perfect! The food is pretty good, as well. It's got a great lunch special that includes an appetizer, an entree, and a drink for $20. They've got great choices for appetizers. I had the goat cheese fritters, PEI oysters, and the calamari, which were great for a group. For the entree, I got the crabcake burger. The burger was a bit dry, I wouldn't recommend it. However, I thought the service was lacking and the food was average. For the price, I don't think it was that great. The hostess and the bartender were kind of standoffish. This is Reston's answer to the businesses produced by the Farmers Restaurant Group (Founding Farmers being its most famous chain). Come to Red's Table for comforting American dishes, prepared using local ingredients (very local, Reston Farmer's Market-sourced) in a sorta scenic setting. It's only sorta and not wholly scenic because the restaurant is, after all, located in a strip mall. However, the restaurant offers a few things many others can't brag about--lake views, over 150 seats, year-round outdoor dining (with the help of heat lamps), and fantastic food. The strip mall location isn't too bad; it does make for easy parking. It beats commuting into DC for a nice dinner any day...in my book... Red's Table gets five stars for excellent service and overall delicious interpretations of classic and new American dishes. Portions are also huge, which is great if you're the type of person who hates leaving a moderate to pricey restaurant hungry. You definitely won't here. Heck, you could fill up on appetizers alone. But don't do that. The entrees, from what I can see, are pretty stellar. I sampled my aunt's bucatini with clams in a red sauce, and it was everything I would want in a seafood pasta--briny, peppery, umami, and filling. We also shared a charcuterie platter, which came with a meat mousse of sorts (only tried the cheeses and pickles). Very good. The clam hush puppies look a little scary, almost burnt, but they tastes great and come with a fantastic smoked paprika butter spread (gimme!). Calamari is also good, though not as unique as some other menu offerings. Hubby got the chuck roast, which came on top of a roasted vegetable medley. Gorgeous! Again, no meat, but I did sample the carrots and onions, and they were exemplary. Our server was very fast and friendly. She also knew the menu and the restaurant really well. Sad to say, but not all servers get this one down. She gave us some awesome recommendations. Some tips: 1. Make a reservation, but be flexible if you're getting hangry--seating opens up sporadically, not necessarily where you may have asked, but it's okay. 2. Understand that there's no such thing as a bad seat. 3. Come with a group so you can share lots of dishes. 4. Don't come without an appetite--again, they have huge portions, and flavors are also really rich. Truthfully, I had never heard of Chef Adam Stein until now. With his spin on American food and incorporation of fresh, fresh products, he'll soon achieve the recognition he so deserves. While others may be heading over to Reston Town Center for twinkly lights and grand eats, I'd much rather be here. read more

Like another poster, very disappointed in writing this review. My fiancee and I have been extremely excited for Red's opening as it seems to be a family run establishment that isn't a chain in Reston Town Center with an appealing "foodie" menu. I've been to Red's Table 4 times for dinner and I've tried my best to love the restaurant. I would give 1 star, but I do believe everything besides the food was pretty good. This is a case of high expectations, rightfully so based on the cost of the items on the menu, and the food being terrible. The most recent visit was with my fiancee and her family visiting for Christmas. I ordered the cider glazed chicken and it was completely overcooked. My fiancee ordered the pot chuck roast which was completely burnt and leathery. The onions literally were black. Both burgers were reported as not very good. My brother in law's steak initially came with a hair in it. The subsequent steak wasn't handled correctly, returned with the same cold side. They comped the steak, which we appreciated, but it didn't make the experience acceptable. The food took a very long time to come out as well. I am as patient as they come and this was way too long for what was ordered. Clearly something was missed and they held all the dishes. This resulted in everything being awful and the wrong temperature/doneness. On another occasion the mussels we ordered were disgusting and had sand in them. They comped these, but I'd rather eat fast food and pay for it than bad quality seafood for free. The food has been off the mark each time and I cannot recommend this place to anyone until they improve on the quality of their food. I'm hoping they can resolve so I can update this review as it would fill a niche in Reston that needs filling. read more

This is one of my favorite local restaurants but unfortunately last few times the food has been very disappointing. This evening I tried their ribs and sadly it was dry, not tender, and came with the sweet potato and brussel sprouts hash that were completely burnt. The fried Mac & Cheese was overcooked and i only took few bites out of it. However, I am giving them 4 stars because the service was fantastic and when I brought up the fact I wasn't happy with my meal, they addressed the issue, comped the meal (Wasn't expecting) and apologized. I tried to be fair. I understand that they're trying hard and you can't always make everyone happy. But the fact that they addressed the issue will only result in us returning. First, I'm really excited to see another non-chain restaurant in Reston. The remodel is very contemporary and inviting. Another plus, they are supporting local breweries and offer a nice craft cocktail line up. Even though this first food journey with Red's wasn't out of this world, it is opening week and it takes time to iron everything out. The menu is creative and different and I will absolutely go back in a month to see how things have progressed followed by an updated review. The staff was attentive and helpful. The bread to start was delicious, especially topped with the honey butter. I tried one of the cocktails but didn't enjoy it. The flavors were not balanced, to much vermouth and the oversized orange peel placed in the drink was pithy causing bitterness. This drink was also my second choice as my original pick, the bar didn't have all the ingredients. We started out with the salmon ceviche and lamb tartare. The ceviche was very tasty and presentation was elegant. The lamb tartare was different. Ground lamb mixed with herbs rolled into to a loaf. What was interesting was the uni incorporated into this dish, not my favorite. Two very strong flavors. The side of toast for the delivery was good and the sauce for topping was delightful. I ordered the chicken and dumplings. Chicken was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and seasoned well, very flavorful. The bed of dumpling-ish strands I didn't much like, heavy and a bit undercooked. There was a spoonful of gravy placed on one side of the dish over the dumpling strands. There wasn't a lot of flavor to it and was glad to see it sectioned off so I could leave it alone. My friend ordered the NY strip and German style potatoes. The steak was blackened on the outside and hardly cooked on the inside, texture was very chewy and was overall hard to eat. As soon as our server noticed my friend wasn't eating after only a few bites, he asked if everything was ok and asked if there was something else from the menu they could bring to the table. He declined and the steak was taken off the bill. We tried the peach pie for dessert. Peaches were tasty. Not overly sweetened with a mild tartness. I'm giving 3 stars overall based on the service and food combined. The food things I enjoyed were really tasty but some not so much. I am so disappointed to have to write this review. I heard so many good things about this place. I love their ethic, the restaurant looks good, the service was good, the drink menu was good, they have outdoor seating, what's not to love?!? Well, that answer is......the food. Granted, we only ordered a total of 5 items from their menu, maybe we picked really, really badly? Maybe. Char Crudo: to be nice i could say the cut of the fish was "rustic" but i think "homestyle" may be more accurate. It was woefully under seasoned and just really unappetizing. We did not finish it. Fried Chicken: My favorite food. I was excited, i love different takes on fried chicken. I could hazard a guess that the person responsible for THIS fried chicken, hasn't eaten fried chicken before. It was over done, the coating was very dark. The pieces were at first glance, ambiguously shaped. The coating was not crispy. I know, from experience, that good fried chicken doesn't have to be crispy. This was not THAT fried chicken. The flavor... is hard to nail down. The best descriptor i can come up with is "herbacious" and not in the best use of that term. We did not finish it. Cioppino: I do loves me a good Cioppino. This was not a good Cioppino. The broth was not right, It was oddly flavored and heavy and not bright with wine and tomatoes, the portion was very stingy. The seafood that accompanied the Cioppino was ..ok? i guess? The shrimps were "head on" and they were filthy. I am not a "head-on" shrimp afficianado so maybe thats how they are supposed to be? i don't really know. The cook on the scrimps was good though. The scallops were the best thing i put in my mouth all night. The clams were adequate, the mussels were adequate, the crab was perhaps the smallest, thinnest cluster i have ever seen in my life. And then, the oddest thing....smoked fingerling potatoes. seems like a good idea. Its not a good idea. I finished the Cioppino The kids got a burger and chicken tenders from the kids menu. Their french fries were very good. The burger bun appeared to be house made. The Chicken tenders also appeared to be house made. The kids meals were in reflection exponentially better than our "grown up" meals. Will i give Red's Table another try? Likely not. I am disappointed. I wanted this place to be a home run. read more

Tucked away in the corner of a strip shopping center on Lake Reston and surrounded by the ubiquitous Starbucks, Subway Sandwiches, etc., Red's Table has the potential to be a go to spot for those who do not mind spending a little more for food, libations and atmosphere. First, the good. The owners obviously dropped money in designing and outfitting the restaurant and bar. Though not large, Red's Table has a variety of seating areas, to include very inviting lakefront seating, all with tasteful, pleasantly subdued decor that is crisp yet inviting. The menu was interesting and varied, and the hostess attentive and helpful. A perfect setting for what would hopefully be a delicious mid-afternoon meal. Now, the bad. Our waitress, though pleasant, needed more training. She did not know the happy hour drink specials, made a simple but substantial mistake on our order, and charged a dinner price rate of 15 dollars on a brunch menu item that should have been about three dollars less. I chalk this up to poor training. A management issue. Second, to charge 10 dollars for a glass of low end chardonnay is a little galling, but may be a function of the premium rent the owners are no doubt paying for this location. Pricing is psychological, but Reston is full of savvy diners who no doubt have picked up on this issue. Finally, my barbecue chicken sandwich (a featured item) had a chicken filet that was just a little larger than a healthy scallop, and the sandwich roll a small, crumbly, tasteless mess. The fries that accompanied the sandwich (I was supposed to get a side salad instead due to dietary restrictions) were tasty enough according to my wife, but when the side salad arrived, it was literally a handful of lettuce on a plate that looked like it came from Safeway's pre-packaged "spring mix" selection. My wife's 15 dollar chicken Caesar salad was equally disappointing. Paltry and not memorable. I know it seems like I am beating up on this venue, and I suppose I am levying fairly harsh criticism. But, Red's Table has huge potential, and management needs to take a cue from The Great American Restaurant group (Arties, etc.) Training, training, training, presentation and proper pricing. I want this restaurant to succeed, but mediocrity has been the death knell of too many restaurants who shoot high but don't quite get there. We will give this place another chance and if the dining experience is markedly different and better I will gladly revisit this review. read more

Ok....never been here before. Been here with the previous restaurant, Lakeside. Decor: like it. It is stone and earth tones. Lights are nice Food: nice menu. Bit on the pricey side. $29 for a dozen oysters? Common...other items were ok. Did not order any food--kitchen closed at 10:00, yet they are open until 12:00am. Hmmmmm??? Service: with only5 people at the bar, my bartender never greeted me. Nor asked me my name. It was a pain to order beers. He did not check on me and seemed more interested in what was on the TV. Sucked. Beer: great. Nice menu. Good selection. Wine: good too. Bottom line: brush up on the details and this would be a killer place. read more

I don't like to give negative reviews. Red's Table is interesting place and there's lots of potential, if one is looking for new types and styles of food, Red's Table is the place. Unfortunately the cuisine is limited and the noise inside is deafening. I tried the chicken and dumplings. The chicken was a good size, but bland in taste. The dumplings were not dumplings. The meal was ok, but the thing that always bothers me is having a Grey Goose Dirty Martini straight up with three olives. The drink was more water than vodka. From my point of view, I enjoy a local tavern with good food and drinks that enliven the spirit. At Red's Table, I was left feeling as bland as the food. Since the restaurant is brand new, I intend to go back at least for the Oysters and hopefully a great Martini. read more

I came here last week on a Friday with reservation and was seated immediately upon arrival. The night started off great with a good selection of beers and wines. We ordered the following appetizers and they were great!! -Smokey Chicken Wings - Great taste, perfect balance of sweet and spicy -Meats, Cheese and Pate platter - Good until we had an unfortunate incident with the pate. Incident was handled properly by the manager. -Baby Gem 8 - Nice blend of salad with white anchovies and garlic-parmesan dressing. The main entrees were very disappointing. We ordered the following: -Bison (Special for the evening): Very dry and tough with no flavor even though it was served with some type of puree. The best part of the dish was the sweet potato type chips. - Clam & Castelvetrano Buccatini: Not a flavorful dish and the pasta reminded me of spaghettios texture type pasta and was cold. - Fried Chicken: Good crunch with no flavor. After biting into the chicken through the skin, the chicken was very bland and you can feel/taste the mushiness below the breading. Service was mediocre. But the dish itself didn't wow us because it was too salty. Maybe the fish oil isn't needed on this dish. As entree I had the Fried Chicken and my boyfriend had the Shellfish dish. My fried chicken was very meh... I felt that I wasted the calories, would've been better off with the burger maybe. The shellfish dish had good flavors, but tools weren't provided to break the shells so it was a little bit of work. For $30 I would appreciate my shrimps being peeled off. Our server was very friendly but waters were not filled (at all)... The manager did come around checking tables which gives this place another star. Overall we felt this restaurant was overrated... For the price they need to step up their game and look into the small details. I really wanted to like it since is conveniently located for us. We have been back a few times (lots actually) and our last trip was fabulous. Our server was fantastic. He was attentive and helpful (two small kids) and just a nice guy. The food was wonderful as always. The bread that kicks you off - on point. My husband really enjoys the wings almost every time. I'm a big fan of the burger or the salads. I would always love to have some new specials (mom's meatloaf or a grilled cheese/tomato bisque) for the winter... so hopefully they will have some soon! read more

A few weeks ago we went there for one of my kids birthday. They could not reserve an outdoor table because of weather they said. When we went the patio was unseated, but I was told the entire patio was already "reserved" for a private party and weather was great. Revisit your policy. read more

We have been here four more times since they opened. Food is always great and service is excellent. Super location and unique food choices. Leave the hustle and bustle of RTC and come here for happy hour, lunch and/or dinner. Interesting cocktail menu, variety of beers and seasonal menu options and specials. We have tried everything from buffalo wings, maple siracha wings, salads, calamity, fritters to fried chicken, catfish, pork chops, and pasta. Everything has been delicious. Dishes we havent enjoyed as much....aren't on the menu anymore. That tells me they heatd what was working and what wasn't. They also adapt their menu and specials to the fresh ingredients they can get. Give Red's a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

First let me apologize to Red's Table for not writing a review on any of my previous visits when it would have been a 5 star rating. I should have, but didn't, and for that I am sorry. We brought an out-of-town guest with us for dinner Friday night, after I had been telling this person for so long about how amazing this place was. Little gem in the middle of a wooded area, on a lake, with a nice view on the deck, creative menu that had never disappointed us. All of that went out the window Friday night. First, we asked if there was seating on the deck, and were told that there was. Our hostess took us outside, and while there were three empty tables right along the railing in the center, she seated us at a side table that was so far off to the side, that our view was of the townhouse to our left, and the back end of the restaurant. When I asked about the three empty tables overlooking the lake, she said that those were reserved. I had actually called earlier that evening to make reservations, but was told to just put my name on the list. Not sure what the difference is, but obviously, it did not work out to my benefit. Then we proceeded to wait an uncomfortably long time for our waiter to appear. It's never a good start, when you begin to feel like you are invisible and you are already starting out feeling annoyed. In addition, it was freezing, and at some point we had to ask for them to put the heat on, which they finally did, but I was annoyed that they hadn't taken that step to make sure that the people on the deck were comfortable. Here is why I was beyond disappointed, and what I want to share with everyone. Please don't ever ask the question that I wish I never had: "What is rant?". One of the featured items on the menu was Rant Risotto. When myself and my out-of-town guest asked what exactly rant was, we were told that it was a plant native to West Virginia, and was a cross between green onions and garlic. We were told that it had a very nice flavor, and when we asked the waiter if he felt it was a good choice, and if he himself would order that item, he said "absolutely". I was actually torn between that and the salmon, but the salmon came on a bed of grits with sausage gravy, that I was not interested in, so he said they could just put the salmon on a bed of risotto. Perfect. There are no words to describe the horrible, biting, lingering taste of rant. Not to mention that the entire plate of risotto was a dark, nasty green, and there were no other vegetables in this dish. I ended up sharing my salmon with my guest, since he only had the risotto, and did not even eat the whole thing, which is very unusual for him. For me, I was just thankful that I HAD the salmon, but only to find out that I was charged double for my meal! They charged me the price of the salmon dinner, PLUS the price of the risotto dinner. I really could not have been more disappointed with our experience Friday night. But what is most upsetting to me is that my husband and I have had great experiences at Red's in the past - great food, atmos, service - and I have told more people about this place than any other that I can think of. But I don't think I can bring myself to go back there again after this last experience, and that makes me sad. I am sure that this experience was unique to us on that particular night, and that most people had great dinners and a fun time out. Chances are that if you are heading out there soon, you too will have a great experience. As long as you don't order the rant. read more

Our third visit to Reds. Each time not so good for the value. The leeks and carrots soup is a dud and $$. I am not sure this place is going to make it long term. The location and fixtures are great, but the food is expensive and a lot of misses on now a number of items we have tried. Red needs to: Lower prices Have more fresh fare Take a hard look across the mall at Cafe'sanos and wonder why they are packed and Reds is not we would love to make this our spot as we live on the lake and can boat over, but unless they step it up I predict trouble. It would be a shame but other friends are reporting the same experience. read more
