My husband and I were planning an outing in Leesburg and we found this hidden gem enroute. I was a little hesitant because of the star rating, but the food pictures from recent visits looked great and I do love waterfront views; so my husband said let's give it a try and I'm glad I agreed. We had a reservation for brunch on a Sunday and were seated promptly upon our arrival. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and made sure we understood the menu options and had everything we needed. I tried a couple mimosas and my husband stuck with coffee. For our main dishes, I ordered the tomato and spinach benedict and my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. My benedict was delicious. My husband said his biscuits and gravy were good as well. I like the vibe of this place; it is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, but the vibe once you get inside is very nice. Considering the drinks cost $12-$14 off the craft cocktail menu, I was very bummed to see that there was no garnish on one, and a lousy small orange wedge on the other. The presentation was that of a dive bar. Also, I looked around and none of the other cocktails seemed to have garnishes either. The Palm tasted like a weak spicy marg and the old fashioned did not taste like a proper old fashioned at all and was watered down with a lot of ice. Disappointed. The ambiance is great and service was fine (we only got drinks) but it's a bummer that the tree below has overgrown and now only a couple of the waterfront tables can actually see the beautiful view because the other tables are blocked by the tree. A simple tree pruning would do the trick! read more

Had a great experience hosting a 30-guest baby shower at Red's Table this past weekend! Communication from booking to menu selection to logistics coordination was excellent, clear, and prompt. Guests raved about the food variety and deliciousness, and the special event buffet setup they arranged was perfect for our party. Our servers were very friendly, reliably quick, and accommodating, allowing us to set up decorations in the space and even bringing us an extra small table for gifts upon day-of request. After living in this area since college (over 20 years!), I cannot believe I've never been to this gem of an establishment... Admittedly my restaurant standards are pretty high and this place wowed me on all levels. I was greeted promptly, seated immediately, and offered a drink all within 2 minutes of walking in the door. The menu offerings excited me as much as the amazing lake views. Every single staff member was highly attentive which was really impressive compared to most places I visit. I'm always searching for new brunch spots and this place did not disappoint -- everything we ordered was delish!! I cannot wait to bring friends back and try even more items from the menu. Red's hosted our group of 21 people with diverse tastes and dietary requirements. The menu, while not overwhelmingly large, had something for everyone. We enjoyed the appetizers, including the Bang Bang shrimp, Chesapeake crab dip and goat cheese fritters. There were no leftovers of the entrees, which included the perfectly cooked NY strips, a mushroom and rolled oat burger, and the homemade lemon cacio e pepe with scallops. A number of the younger members of the group also had room for brownie sundaes, which someone was kind enough to offer me a bite. If I were twenty-something again, I would have ordered one too. In the beverage department, people were pleased with the selection of mixed drinks, selection of beers, including a number of local craft beers, and the wine list, like the menu, was thoughtful and varied without being overwhelming. Add to all of this attentive staff, well-timed service of food and drink, and a nice private room for our group led to a very enjoyable dining event for our party. read more

Went to Red's for Valentines Day. Glad I made a reservation because they were almost packed when I arrived. We had some cocktails, a white wine and the Dead Man Walking which were very good. Next was the clam chowder which was prob the best that i have had in a long time. The main courses were the seabass and the scallops which were delicious. We used to love coming here. It was always a treat. Man, the food and service has gone downhill. The oysters were poorly shucked, and had clearly been rinsed off after shucking - there wasn't any brine or juice. So they tasted flavorless. The Fresh Catch Special, seafood risotto that the server said had chunks of salmon and was cooked in salmon broth was actually a giant, gelatinous blob of pesto-oey rice with overcooked shrimp and shellfish (I think clams) and lots of broken shells... but no salmon that I could see. One bite and we sent it back. The fries were hot, perfectly spiced and delicious. The salad and cassoulet were both meh. They used to do an amazing duck cassoulet....the current pork one doesn't hold a candle to it. Cocktails were watered down. It also took a long time for them to come out. Service was slow and sporadic. Kitchen runners were on top of things, but servers seemed weeded or just discombobulated. Couldn't tell. Waited 15m to place a drink / appetizer order. Drinks came after we were done with the appetizer. Waited another 20 min to place a dinner order. I flagged one server down to take away my special dish and bring me a menu - but had to wait another 10m before anyone came by to take my new order....which wasn't expedited. So my dinner companion finished their meal about 20m ahead of me finishing mine. Getting the check took a while as well. It was a beautiful night with a great view of the lake, so that helped quite a bit. read more

No clue why this place has close to 4 stars. Probably because of the lake view but if just talking about food and service quality I'd give a 2/5. Ordered calamari, fish n chips, and clam chowder soup. Only the calamari was decent, the others lacked flavor and tasted bland. Service was subpar; the waiter took over 10 minutes to take our order. It's been a while since we returned... couple of reasons prevented us. Not a fan of metal chairs either in terms of sitting on them or listening to the noise as folks scrape them across the floor as they get up and down. But hubby wanted a Rueben and we figured they gave a house corned beef so we would come in for lunch Let's talk about good first... my maple siracha wings were excellent... Fries served as the side with the Rueben were excellent... I do love home made fries... where things were a serious miss was the rueben. First the bread was burnt around the edges so hubby opted to not eat but to just enjoy the insides... his second observation was the sauerkraut isn't sauerkraut... as it's not very sour... his comment more like half sour... as for the corned beef he felt like part of it was just crumbles... small pieces... but he said the taste was good... but overall as a Rueben not one he cared for at all. Now at this point I would have rated them a three but backing up... while we knew coming in what we wanted the server pointed out the business mans lunch which is a appetizer a main and a non alcoholic drink but only the options listed... ohhhh cool I thought... both the items we want are there... so we asked if we could do that but served together as that's what he wanted... but I got the... ohhh we aren't supposed to do that... I'm not going to argue so we still ordered but it just bugged me in the end... a option for both with a drink st $20 instead of the $28 without a drink we ended up paying for... the pricing makes a difference as we consider our future lunch options going forward and how things fit in the budget... so if they had let us more frequent visits could be planned for So while I adore the wings and fries... this visit just wasn't worth doing a repeat at least for us.... read more

I've dined at Red's Table for years, simply because it's close by. They have never figured out that vegans deserve to eat, and not just a salad or a side of greasy spinach or veggies with no seasoning. Notice that I also wrote a review in February, but there hasn't been much improvement. However, now, at least, they list one vegan food on the menu, but the menu does not use the V-label, which is a widely recognized and trusted international symbol for Vegan. Instead, they label vegan food as "veg," which means vegetarian. They are a little confused. The vegan salad they offer could be a complete meal because it includes farro. Bravo!!! But sadly, the salad contains only about a tablespoon or less of farro. If they are going to consider it an entree for vegans, why does the waiter ask if I want to add a meat protein? Their salad with farro is designed to be a complete vegan meal, as it's the only option on the menu for vegans. The chef needs to know that a serving size of farro is typically 2/3 cup (about 194g) when cooked, NOT 1 tablespoon. The serving size provides around 200 calories and is a good source of fiber and protein. Come on, Red's Table, get with the times and recognize that vegans deserve to enjoy an entree instead of a side or salad, having to go home to finish their meal with a grain, quinoa, beans, or one of the other eighteen plant-based proteins. You can surely do better. If I weren't a 30-year vegan, I'd likely give the restaurant a better review. read more

This was a pretty heavy salad, since it a burrata cheese plus some small pieces of roasted squash. It was good, but I think more squash would've make this a lot easier to eat. Additionally, this could be because I like my burrata melty, but I recommend putting there cheese in hot water to melt the stracciatella and cream in the inside but then immediately dunking it it ice water so the outside is cold. This would have made the salad a LOT tastier. Also, not very much squash. Overall, it was good, but definitely on the pricey side ($16 I think) read more

What a find! I don't live in Reston but was meeting some friends for brunch on Sunday. Well worth coming back in the near future as it was easy to get to (cute shopping center) and so charming when we walked in, just an overall very good vibe. It was sophisticated and yet friendly. We had a wonderful waiter (wish I could remember his name) but he was that perfect mix of friendly but also wasn't all over us and interrupting the conversation multiple times like I find in so many restaurants of late. I would have never tried the mushroom and rolled oat burger without a friend suggesting as a good vegetarian option. It was FABULOUS. Loved the goat and beet salad as well. Seats were not too close together so we had privacy and didn't feel as though it was too loud. Even though we were indoors on a very chilly day, seeing the lake from our table made us feel we were on vacation! So nice to find a family friendly restaurant that is not a chain and has staff that clearly care about your meal and experience. Keep up the good work, I'm coming back. read more

I ordered wings, a drink which they forgot a salad and a cheeseburger with delivery it was over $90! I ate two wings and had to stop because there was a nice roach covered in wing sauce - so everything else got thrown in the trash. I did not call the restaurant because I know there's no way to prove it since the food was delivered but either way that is my review. read more
