The first thing I noticed about the Redding Subaru dealership was the polite greeting and lack of pressure. The evening before I had been on my way to Medford, when on I5 north of Redding a big rig jack knifed, hit the front of my 05 Forrester and then somehow bounced, cause I came to a stop some distance ahead, hugging the guard rail. 5 star test crash rating took on new significance when I realized that I was gonna walk away from the wreck in one piece and in good shape. My car was totaled. All this to explain how grateful I am for such a positive experience at the dealership. Everyone I interacted with was professional and helpful, and the absolute star was my salesman Michael Beckham. He was patient, kind, informative, calm, and not pushy in the slightest degree. I was still shook up, and afraid to drive, but of course had to. He showed me several cars, small, medium and large, and it gradually became apparent that the low mileage immaculate used Forrester was "just right." It's a lovely car. Getting back on the road was tough. Driving past the the crash site, and big rigs, was scary. But I made to Medford in time to sing happy birthday to a dear friend who just turned 87. I have been wanting a Subaru Outback for 6 years, well the time was finally right to get one. We are from Vacaville and we were getting quotes from dealers all over the bay area. On Jan 1st I called the Fairfield dealership to see if they were going to be open. The sales manager said they were supposed to be open till 6 but would be open till mid afternoon for sure. My husband and I got ready and just as we were walking out the door ( right before noon) I got a text from a sales man saying they were going to close. I asked if they would be open long enough for us to come down and he said we could come down but no one would be there to help us. WHAT? A couple of days later I had to go to Redding and while I was there I thought I would check out the outbacks at Redding Subaru. I spoke with Greg Moss and he was one of the most genuinely nice persons I have had the pleasure of meeting. They did not have what I wanted the day I went but the next day Greg called to let me know they got some in and they had exactly what I wanted . I definitely have a love hate relationship with car dealerships in general, but my recent experience with Redding Subaru was a pleasant one. I was looking to trade in my 2010 Toyota Corolla for a slightly newer family SUV. I did some research online and found that the Subaru Forester might be a great option for me. I had the pleasure of working with Brandon Scarabello, a sales associate at Redding Subaru. I never felt rushed or manipulated into making a decision. Brandon took his time answering all my silly questions and thoroughly explaining my options. When he mentioned leasing a vehicle as an option, my gut instinct was to say "no thanks". But since I knew nothing about leasing or how it works, I decided to humor him and get more information. To my surprise, leasing a new 2017 Subaru Forester turned out to be an excellent option for me. Our salesman was courteous and patient with my wife and I. We visited the dealership numerous times, trying to find that "perfect" car. That perfect car was the Subaru Outback. Mike was very knowledgeable about the Outback and explained the different features very well. As luck would have it, the color my wife wanted wasn't in stock. We either had to wait 5-6 weeks to get one from the factory or hope that Redding Subaru could do a "dealer trade" with another dealer that had the right color Outback in stock. We didn't want to wait the 5-6 weeks, so we opted for the dealer trade. There was a flat $150 fee that we paid for this. They had our car the next day and the day after that, we were signing papers. I just purchased a 2014 Impreza from Redding Subaru. I have nothing but good things to say about this dealer. The car I wanted was not on the lot, so they located one in Eureka. A driver immediately went to Humboldt County to pick the car up even though I had not insisted on delivery that day. He returned around closing time on Saturday, but they took the time to: ensure that all of my questions were answered; set up my Bluetooth, clean dealer stickers from the windows; and make certain that I was entirely comfortable before I left. They followed up the next day with thank you e-mails and a call to ask if I had any questions. The service was first rate, and I never felt pressured. After a careful search through Consumer Reports on its March car issue, I found 3 vehicles that met my requirements and gave each one a thorough test drive. Each one, Toyota, Nissan, and Subaru was excellent and the personnel were very pleasant and exerted no pressure, but I had to choose one which was the Subaru Forester. They were incredibly transparent, resourceful, and best of all, compassionate. Best experience that we've ever had. This is our third new car, but our first Subaru, and the only car that we enjoyed buying. We went to every dealership in town test driving cars, and made our final decision partly on the fact that the team at Redding Subaru were the best group to deal with. I went to the Subaru lot several times, asked lots of questions and test-drove several cars. The salespeople I dealt with were Kenny and Mike and they were great. They listened well, asked good questions to get me to think about what was truly important for me to have in a car I would buy and allowed me the space to walk around and think about things without putting on the hard sell. I finally found a used Outback with pretty low miles that has all the bells and whistles I wanted. The finance guys (esp. We recently purchased a Shelby GT 500 from Redding Subaru, and Billy was our salesperson. Most of our communication happened over the phone and via text, which made the process incredibly convenient. Billy was persistent in following up but never crossed the line into being pushy. He took the time to understand our needs and went above and beyond to work out all the details, including arranging for the car to be delivered right to our home, since we weren't local. jeremy cunningham is a crook! he thinks he is doing his community a service by adding $2,995 markup to all of his new cars and charging way over retail on his used cars but its a joke! there reconditioning of there cars is horrible. why would you pay as much for a used car as a new car! its so easy to drive a couple hours to save several thousand dollars. also, i heard he treats his employees like garbage. but i get it, we are giving back to our community, lol! if i were you, i would rethink your strategy and actually give the good people of your town a fair deal instead of filling your deep pockets. read more
