Food was great but the service was absurdly slow. It took us 2 1/2 hours to have dinner, and we had to cancel our other plans for the night. It wasn't even packed. I absolutely won't be back at this location. Ridiculous. read more

Third experience in a row that unfortunately was a disappointment. The burger was raw in the middle. I know what you may be thinking, why order a burger at a seafood place? However, not everyone in the family likes seafood options. Chicken strips were dry and stuffed mushrooms were bland. First time to eat at Red Lobster. Our server Carol was awesome. She helped us determine what we wanted. Her recommendations were spot on. Blacken salmon with shrimp was excellent. Will be back. The clam chowder was lacking. Very thin sauce. read more

Food was awful. I had the shrimp and they were disgusting. Salad was wilted and the ranch dressing tasted watered down. Husband had the ultimate feast and he was disappointed. He said the lobster and crab had no flavor. The only good thing was the bread. We waited almost two hours to have an awful meal. We will never return, I knew I should have went to Sizzler instead read more

Not such a great experience. Was 3/4 way through my snow crab legs when I discovered a large fly, dead, floating at the bottom of the dish. I lost my appetite after that. The only reason they get more than 0 stars after that travesty is our waiter, I believe his name was Justin. He was quite possibly the most genuinely happy and friendly person I've ever encountered. Perfect personality for his job. It was a busy Saturday night, but he was attentive and sweet and took the snow crab off the check for us. I mean, I would HOPE they wouldn't charge us for vermin-infested food, but still. He got a large tip from me as a thank you. My stomach is turning just thinking back to that fly corpse seafood, so suffice it to say I likely won't be returning no matter how desperate I get for crab. read more

I was hungry for seafood so I ordered the lobster feast. Lobster was overcooked and tough, and very unseasoned. I remember the Cheddar Bay Biscuits tasting better than the ones I had. The pasta was good, but the shrimp and crab were overcooked and tasteless. I couldn't even eat it, so ended up giving it away. I should have taken that same $40 and bought some fresh crab and lobster tails and grilled them myself. Won't be going back. read more

Talk about inconsistency! Literally called 10 to 15 minutes ago asking about reservations and they said that they no longer do reservations that it's only walkins so I said OK how long is the wait in and they said 45 to 15 minutes I said OK so I had my guy go there since I was coming home from work which is about an hour away to put our name on the list, and he gets there and now it was over a two hour wait. How the hell does it go in 10 to 15 minutes from him to get there to 45-50 minutes to over two hours. They really need to get their times straight and get their shit together. Called maybe a week ago and was told that they were only doing reservations not even doing walkins so even that all the rules are changing. And to top it off you quite literally saw maybe only two or three tables occupied in this dining room area so why was it a two hour wait. Absolutely ridiculous!! read more

This is a great quick lunch spot during the work week. I also am not to familiar with the Modesto area so it was kind of like whatever. As we walked in they were taking out some Lobsters from the tank to the back. They were just sitting in this little tub looking at us. I mean really looking at us. I wanted to pet it, then eat it. We were quickly seated waaaaay in the back. Our waitress was fast and got our drinks out in a flash. I got a Chicken BLT Sandwich. I really wanted the Lobster Pizza but after Tom R. told me how many calories it had the last time I went to a Red Lobster, I decided to go a little lighter. It was good and the bread wasn't to crusty or hard. We had a very enjoyable lunch. I would come back again if I was in the area. read more

Ahoy you land lubbers! Top reasons to dine at Red Lobster? 1. Garlic Cheddar Cheese Biscuits: fluffy, cheesy, garlicky goodness 2. Fried Clam Strips: so tender and not greasy; not at all rubbery which quite often happens when one prepares clams. 3. Endless Shrimp: say the word "endless" and I'm so there ;) read more

DON'T RELY ON THE APP for wait times. We put ourselves on the list today, and the app said "now seating". Party of 6. Upon arrival, were told the wait was 2 and a half hours. The explanation was that the the app is "not accurate" for this location. This would be understandable for a difference of say, 15 minutes. But not 2.5 hours. I'd sooner spend that time driving to the bay for real seafood. read more

Who reviews Red Lobster anymore? That's exactly why I decided to write a review for our local Modesto store, and give you some "Pro-tips" for this store. This was a spur of the moment trip to the Lobster of redness, and it usually happens that way when we start to crave mussels again. More accurately, the sauce that Red Lobster makes for the mussels. We arrived at about 5 PM, prime rush time for any restaurant, and it was the first weekend of the month, so expectedly it was busy. There were people sitting outside, and the parking lot was full. We lucked out and found a spot right up front when someone left. There's a long bench inside for people to wait, but then you have to watch the "chosen few" walk by like a coronation, following their waiter to the throne. Besides, the bench is within eye shot of a few tables, and it's very uncomfortable to sit there while someone is sopping up lemon butter with their cheesy biscuit. We checked in, and the young lady at the podium - who's job is to hide the sacred list of future royalty from the current line of peasants, informed us that it would be a 45 minute wait. But she's ignorant to the ways of the bar area. This is pro-tip number 1. Always sit in the bar unless there's no wait whatsoever. This particular restaurant has a fast turnover in the bar seating area, and there is ample seating there. There are plenty of booths too, so comfortable seating for family. But the biggest is a 4 person booth, so you don't have to take the mother in law. Instead of waiting for 45 minutes, we simply did what we always do, which is hover in the doorway and look as imposing as possible, so anyone who was thinking about sticking around after eating and chit-chatting instead of un-assing the booth would think twice. Sure enough, there was an ugly couple sitting near the front with an obvious "get the hell out" sign on their table, err I mean a bill folder with a receipt sticking out. They got up, we sat down WHILE THE TABLE STILL HAD TRASH ON IT. Don't wait for a waiter to clean the table or you will lose your spot. So we were seated in 1 minute instead of 45, much to the chagrin of the peasants waiting in the hall. Pro-tip number 2. DON'T eat the biscuits when they bring them to your table. For one, it will fill you up and you won't eat half your dinner. Remember, the reason you came to Red Lobster? Save them, and dip them. More on that in a minute. My wife and I both ordered the butter garlic wine sauce. Also known as the mussels appetizer. But it wouldn't have mattered if they served that sauce over shoe leather, we would have sopped it up and ate it. It's the best thing they serve there, and the appetizer is full portion sized. Oh, and it comes right away, unlike an entree. Here's where you put your biscuits to work... make sure they give you plenty of napkins... DIP your biscuits in the butter garlic sauce! To eat the mussels, don't use that stupid little fork they give you. Simply dig the mussel loose from it's once-comfy home with your fingernail but DON'T take it out of the shell. Pull the half of the shell that wasn't holding the mussel in, and set it aside, then use the shell as a spoon to scoop up MORE of the golden goodness. Toss aside like a spent shell casing and repeat. We enjoyed our meal, and our waiter was awesome. He brought beer when we needed it, and took away the plates at just the right time, as we were leaning back in the booth, which is the universal sign for "Take this plate from the table before it ruins my after-experience with the smell." I tipped accordingly. We will be back. read more

Came in early immediately after picking up the kids. I had asked my 4 year old where she wanted to go for her last day of being 4. She said "I want Red Lobster" So here we are now! The biscuits are just as good as always! My drink was beginning to run low and the waitress passed by and asked what I was drinking and dropped it off very immediately. Our server is friendly and patient with my 3 kids. My youngest told her it was her birthday. So she got an ice cream complimentary. Service was 5 stars! Serena is an excellent server, checking in on us several times throughout our meal asking if everything was to our liking or not, promptly brought out the check. It seems the management staff also help serve as well, checking if we needed anything and helped to bring out the crackers for our crab legs so Serena didn't have to go back to the kitchen. It's nice to see a real team effort, and not the mentality of people saying, "I'll get your server for you!" Drink refill requests for the kids and ketchup requests were refilled with a smile. This crew was awesome! They sang happy birthday to 4 patrons including my birthday girl! The food quality is up to par 3 stars...they serve seafood, so order the seafood. I've been here plenty of times. For Modesto, it's the best seafood you can get. It's not a Joes Crab Shack, but it's not bad. I've been here and had some overcooked food, sent it back, server had returned promptly with freshly cooked crab legs and they were phenomenal! Food is hit and miss between awesome and okay, which is the reason for the 3 stars. read more

Laura was an excellent server, very sweet and helped us with anything we needed. The smoothies were amazing! The steaks not soo much but it's fair considering it's not a steak house. The manager was also nice and helped us out with any issues. read more

Service was okay. But we give 5 stars to the young lady who kept my Mom's birthday a surprise dinner a surprise. She was phenomenal. Hats off to her for pulling it off with a simple instruction of "it's not 2, it's a party of 7, but it's a surprise..." as I passed by her to go have a seat while waiting for our table. Because I'm disabled, my Mom walked in ahead of me and told this young lady, it was a table for 2 and I had no idea how I was going to tell her it was a table for 7 without my Mom knowing. But this girl pulled it off! When we were taken to our table, my Mom was so confused as to why we were being placed at a huge table when it's just 2 of us. My Mom even went after this girl to ask her if this was a mistake and the girl said "I don't know."LOL! My niece was standing next to my Mom at this point and my Mom was so tunnel-visioned that she didn't even notice my niece. It was so awesome and hilarious. Food was okay. Not the quality it used to be(last time we were here was before covid...2019ish. Prices were astronomical for the quality of the food and the amount of lack thereof, you get. But, the experience was fun. We were also disappointed that no one sang Happy Birthday to my Mom, like they normally do and like the staff did just a few mins prior to us finishing up our meals. Pretty disappointed about that. I know my Mom was:( read more

So, we got sat at 7:00pm the dinner and service were actually fine. The server was nice and sweet the food was great. The drinks were good also. The issue I have is with the endless shrimp advertisement. Shrimp orders should be allowed at least 2 orders at a time. We waited about 10 minutes in between each shrimp refill. Which extended our dinner time a whopping 2 hours. The servers hands were tied and I understand that but we have been attending this endless shrimp event every year for the last 3 years and have never had to wait this long for shrimp refills. This is actually the only reason we come to Red Lobster once a year. We attempted to find the manager but they were not on the floor during this time. Anyways, food is good and drinks were good. Service was good. Endless shrimp needs to be fixed. read more

My husband and I just left the restaurant and I'm very disappointed. We rarely get "nice" dinners out but chose to splurge & get a good meal from our go-to establishment. We got their 4 course for 17.99. I was so excited to get the baked potato soup, it's one of the few things I've been able to keep down my entire pregnancy. I went to tell our waiter (he said his name was Devonte but name tag said James), he told me Red Lobster no longer offered the potato soup. I told him "okay, I'm 8 months pregnant and cannot have any type of shelled fish, what're my options". He proceeded to tell me "substitutions aren't allowed but you can order from our regular menu. I'll give you a few more minutes to look over it". Okay..the chicken pasta I planned on ordering was $19 by itself vs the $17 for my entree plus soup, salad and dessert. The waiter came back and I told him just don't bring out the soup - I'll just skip a course. He brought our salads out where we proceeded to wait 15 mins for silverware. By the time we received our silverware our entree was at the table. My entree came out - pretty simple chicken pasta, I made it clear fish could not touch my place. I mix my pasta around and take a few bites before I realize there was shrimp mixed in. My husband flagged down the waiter & he took my plate to be remade. It took about 20 mins. In that time my husband had finished his meal. I got my plate - no fish. Awesome. I started eating. I had to spit out my first piece of chicken. It was underdone and VERY rubbery. I went through all the other slices of chicken, all but two were underdone. The waiter didn't seem to notice the pile of half raw chicken sitting on my bread plate. We ordered our dessert to go & left extremely underwhelmed. My husband and I had our first date here 3 years ago and have been frequent diners since. Tonight, they lost our business. There was no apologizing or trying to remedy our experiences. As someone whose 8 months pregnant and CANNOT eat fish to any extent I'm very annoyed. Potato soup has been a staple menu item for years for non-fish eaters.there should always be options for those with allergies or medical conditions that prevent them from consuming fish. read more

I took my Son here for his 30th b.d. he wanted the all you can est shrimp. We recieved no bread with our salads and when we finally did it was burnt. Joe got his shrimp plate and the waiter said "I put a second order in for you already." And after that we didn't see him again until chk time! I had even asked about our waiter at the bar. Come to find out. Management took him away to handle a 15 seat table. Do I blame him? Nope! That's on the management. It was their poor decision! Very disappointed in Modesto's Red Lobster franchise! There are a lot of places I could have taken my son if my intentions were to be disappointed. Now I know Red Lobster is another! read more

So I'll start off by saying its endless shrimp right now, so some time allowances have to be made. That said, here's 2 examples how the system is severely flawed. Parties of 8+ have two assigned tables. So you are basically stuck waiting until they leave. We were skipped over so much and our 1 hour expected wait time turned into that plus 40+ more minutes until we complained and learned about their aforementioned system and asked for the manager who was as accommodating as she could be despite the "system". Also, the refill policy of 1 order at a time is ridiculous. One refill of a skewer type is 5 shrimps and it takes a long time to come. It took 3 hours for everyone to be done, so yeah, no wonder the wait is so long. The servers are totally handcuffed and because of the length of time to get people out the door, their tips probably suffer a lot. Our hostess Hope and our server Maritza were awesome and I feel bad they are stuck dealing with angry customers because of such a bad system. Btw. Got here at 500. Still here at 937 and our last refill isn't here yet. read more

They have good food great servers and the 4 of us had a great time. The coconut shrimp and shrimp Alfredo were fantastic.

I used to love going here. It was my mom and mother in laws favorite place for fish and chips. We went there yesterday after a doctors visit at Kaiser and were surprised to see their menu had changed. NO MORE FISH and CHIPS on the menu!!! I even tried ordering them with our waitress, thinking maybe I missed them on the menu, but NOPE. They no longer serve fish and chips:( What a bummer! It's hard to imagine a chain seafood restaurant not serving fish and chips, especially when they serve egg rolls and chicken tacos... I guess we'll have to go to Applebee's or BJ's for fish and chips from now on. Boo boo. read more

Went here on Sunday 6/9 for lunch at around 11:45. Service was fine and we were seated right away. We have been going to Red Lobster for over 35 years and my mom use to wait tables there and my brothers and I would eat popcorn shrimp when we were younger while we were waiting for her. It's sad to see them struggling. These companies spend all this money to try and learn why they are struggling and some reasons seem so obvious. My wife (doesn't like seafood but I do) and I were looking over the menu and there was no lunch menu going on a weekend. Then my wife ordered a burger and they were out of buns. We were looking to drop in and spend $50-$70 to bucks on a basic lunch. I didn't want the Admirals Feast or dual Lobster Tails for lunch. My wife wanted a basic burger and I wanted soup and salad and unless I ordered that separately you can't do it. Refresh your menu guys. We were already in your restaurant and you had us. We ended up leaving before ordering. I wasn't there to drop $35 bucks on a meal and then spend another $10 bucks on a bowl of clam chowder just for lunch. For dinner no problem but come on and offer a lunch menu on the weekends. read more

So tonight the wife wanted to take advantage of the endless shrimp. We had a little wait time but we were seated at 5:49 pm. Why the time, you will see. My family of five were seated in a corner with a round table with four chairs. The staff pulled a chair from another table to complete this table. To me, to put a family of five in an area normally for four kind of sucked. Not much real estate for our plates, cups and silverware. Our server was Andrew. Very nice kid for sure. He made sure to tell us the service would be slow since They're short staff. Fast forward an hour later, I see why he told us the service would be slow. So we ordered our food which was typical Red lobster food. They had a new fiesta shrimp but that sucked. Whoever thought about putting nacho style cheese sauce on top of breaded shrimp should be fired. Horrible combination for sure. Andrew was a rockstar. He turned a bad situation into a memorable one since he was trying his best to get us fed. By the time we were done, we walked out of the restaurant at 7:20 pm. Yes we were there seated at this place for one hour and 30 minutes. A little long for me since I had three kids that were super board. read more

Mom didn't enjoy it too much and I tried some and I didn't either. Red Lobster - Notice what you don't see, our food we ordered almost a hour ago. Can not believe it has taken this long for endless shrimp. - Seafood Near Me - Modesto, California

Had one of my worst restaurant experiences thus far last night. I came to Red Lobster last night to celebrate my mother-in-laws 50th birthday and although it was a Saturday night and waits are expected, our wait-time to be seated was ridiculous. Our party of 7 literally waited close to an hour-and-half until we got seated. What made our wait even worse was how many other party's of 5-6 that were seated before us. The explanation provided to us by the receptionist multiple times was that they were waiting for a party to leave after they had paid their bill, which made no sense given how many other party's got seated before us. Why couldn't they have just consolidate a few tables for us? It wasn't until the third time of asking about our table that they made any kind of efforts to get us seated. This time they gave me the excuse that there were only two areas that could accommodate our party and that they were working on clearing the table for us at the time, which was a complete lie because I witnessed the crew finally trying to consolidate a few tables for us, which took them another 15mins to do. On top of all this our table didn't even have silverware and there was no acknowledgement nor apology for our ridiculous wait. After this experience I will never come here again. Its a complete joke of a restaurant with incompetent service and I highly advise others not to come here either. read more

Let's face facts. Modesto does not have a good seafood restaurant. There are some ethnic restaurants that serve decent seafood menu items and individual entrees at grills or cafes that are not too bad. Best option is find one these spots. A a seafood lovers place comparable to what you may find in the Bay Area does not exist here. Yes, the cheese biscuits are great but that alone does not make for a great meal. Lots of not very tasty fried shrimp and fish and grilled and baked "fresh fish" are just not prepared very well here. Mediocre quality. Not worth the wait list or bar wait. read more

Though the caesar salad was very salty even for a salt lover like me and I didn't are much for the Walt's Favorite Shrimp, everything else was great! Our server, Lisa, was such a sweetheart. She was beautiful and I loved her nails. I noticed that all the tables that she served, just like us, fell in love with her personality and her attention to detail because I heard them say how amazing she was. Lisa was busy but never once did we have to wait for her. She remembered everything we requested such as extra lemon, butter, etc. She went above and beyond to serve us by constantly checking on us and all the other tables. I just fell in love with her beautiful soul and I wish her the best in life. The food was amazing as usual and the renovation looks good too. I just wish the tables and booths were somewhat larger. We will definitely be back even if it's just for Lisa :) read more

Whatever manager was in charge on 05/10/2020 at the red lobster on Sisk Rd in Modesto should not be the manager. I left so internally angry I didn't and couldn't even think of every detail like getting a name of the manager. Smh. It was my Birthday that Happens to fall on Mother's day every 5 yrs, and being that I've been a loyal customer for over 15 yrs this place is my #1 pick on days of celebration. I have never had a horrible experience such as this one on this day or any other special day or occasion ever and I have been to plenty of different locations on Mother's day, Birthdays, Graduation, or just cause I wanted Red Lobster etc... Understandably I had to order online for pick up because of the day and Covid circumstances so of course delivery wasnt happening and I was fine with that. 1. I get to the Restaurant and realize that they don't even have any social distancing practicing being enforced, so there were 50 or more people standing almost shoulder to shoulder inside the whole front area of the restaurant as well as new customers coming in and out. 2. My order was supposed to be ready for pick up by 4:15 pm. I figured I would give them about 30 extra minutes trying to be understanding of the situation. By 5pm they had only fulfilled maybe 10 if even that of the pre-payed orders, only one little dude in the front. I felt bad for him. 3.They clearly weren't even adequately staffed or prepared. There was no functioning system in place to expedite things, it didnt even seem like they were making the food in the orders that they were being received. They probably should not have even opened. 4. The manager not once came out to address the situation or customers at all. 5. I also blame the delivery services, as well as the Red lobster online ordering platform/s, they should have had a better system for the increase in online orders especially for what's going on with everyoone having to stay home for the most part and ordering for delivery or curbside pickup. Something realistic that would have helped the actual restaurants not get so flooded, earlier cut off, more accurate extended wait times, anything. It was a real shit show guys, customers trying to help out the one little guy. Looking at tags, calling out names and orders. 5:30 is when I finally decided to call it and ask for a refund. At this point, I mean is my food even going to be fresh? Being that there are people still waiting who's food was to be picked up an hr before mines. My name, order #, and phone # was taken down to be given to the wizard manager. I have not received a call or my refund. I Ordered myself a nice feast for a Queen of the day $60+ pre-payed for food I never received and from the looks of how things ended up similarly at other locations in different states, probably wasn't going to get. I am going to raise a fuss on as many platforms as I can. As a loyal customer, YOU RED LOBSTER need to make this right in my eyes. Not only should I get a full refund, I should get the entire meal that I ordered, spent 2 hrs of my double special day in line waiting for, for free. Food I was never going to receive because you guys were just thinking of all the money YOU would be making, but not planning fulfillment wise, or thinking of your customers, especially on a day that you know is always super busy. I ended having to spend more money on food I didnt even want, not getting adequate compensation for my wasted time, and until I get a refund, lost money. read more

Was really excited to try this place. Had a horrible experience. Amid the coronavirus you think they would be happy to have a customer during a time people are not out spending money. Ordered the surf n turf and there has a huge hair in our food!! After waiting for several minutes to see if our server would come by we told another server what happened and literally no response nothing. No sorry just took the plate and left. Another 10 minutes goes by and our service said she would make another one. 30 minutes later the group I was with finished their food so when the plate came I asked if they could bag it to go, was given such attitude about this and that took another 15 minutes!!! Then was given attitude because we were paying cash and not using the dumb machine. Needless to say spent 100$ here (they still charged me for the meal) and it would be my first and last time here. Have not been for over 15 years. Decided to try it out after so long. Right off the bat not one person was friendly. It was a 30min wait which was fine so we sat at the bar. Didn't get helped for 20mins. The bartender was the slowest bartender I've ever encountered. All the of surrounding staff seemed as if they were constantly distracted by everything other than the customers. When we were finally brought back to our table the hostess dropped the menu on the floor, slid it toward her with her foot to pick it up. She then placed it on our table, it had a dusty ass footprint on it. Then our server comes to take our order and was very condescending. She made it a point to point out we could not take any shrimp home with the endless shrimp which I felt was very ignorant. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and as they came out we asked for silverware and our server said absolutely . After what seemed like 10mins I had to get up and ask someone else for silverware which by then our mushrooms were already cold. We ordered our food which everything seemed really good. My boyfriend's fully loaded mashed potatoes were cold as if they were still frozen. When we told the server she straight asked if him if he wanted her to microwave them or a new plate. WTF are you kidding me you're gonna ask if we want them microwaved? I ordered another wine and it took so long I didn't want it anymore nor did I want another serving of the endless shrimp. Will never go back. Shittiest service ever. Everyone seemed miserable as if they hated their job. Do better!!!
