My family and I went to Red Lobster Jan 26, 2018 around 930 -10p. It was my niece 23rd bday and Red Lobster was her restaurant of choice to celebrate. This celebration included my sister, niece and myself. My niece and I both ordered meals that included shrimps which she and I and noticed the shrimps weren't completely cooked. After we both ate 1 each we noticed the batter was very doughy which kinda spoiled the meal, especially going to Red Lobster for seafood. As we bought this to our waiter (Tom) attention he looked at the shrimps and replied "yea they don't look done." He said he will have some new ones made. After picking over the reaming meal we paid our check but 1st my sister asked the waiter as we were paying the bill if there can be something done with adjusting the check since here it is we're just about done and ready to leave and the redo order of the shrimps still haven't come out yet. (boxed to take home) Tom left and came back and said the manager politely took $5 off of your $66 check. While waiting for the redo of the shrimps we asked the waiter if the manager was going to stop by to see the under cooked food and/or apologize for any inconvenience. Remind you management never came to the table when we bought the under cooked shrimp to the attention of the waiter.Tom our waiter said he would get the manager. At this point we're all coated up and ready to leave and my niece still drinking her Bahama Mama while waiting for the redo shrimps, here comes a manager (Sarah) When Sarah stood in front of our table before saying a word she did a little sigh and slightly rolled her eyes and said "yes." So as I began to ask if there was a new cooked as I'm showing her the 14 under cooked shrimps left on the 2 plates between my niece and myself, I stopped in conversation as I was able to tell from Sarah body language and the rolling of the eyes and yes this young lady was rolling her eyes as I was talking that she really wasn't trying to hear anything I was saying. I paused and said "I find it odd that after you were told that our food was under cooked that you didn't stop by to even see the food for accuracy. Sarah replied and said "do I need to explain myself to you?" Yes you heard correct, this is what Sarah said. I asked her if she felt she should explain herself and she said "NO." I chuckled and Sarah slightly leaned over to me as I was still sitting in the booth with my family and pointed her finger right in my face (scolding child like) and said "I had other things to attend." I asked, something more important than a customer bringing to your attention about under cooked food. I then I asked her to get her finger out of my face and boldly enough Sarah didn't budge and kept her finger in my face. By this time the waitress dropped off the re-order of our shrimps that we had requested to put in a to-go container. I stood up and surprisingly that's when Sarah stepped back and a coworker stood in front of her. I'm not sure how long she thought I was going to let her stand over me and point her finger in my face. At this time I'm going to assume an employee was watching this whole things just a few steps away because as I stood up a young man stood in front of Sarah and shelooked at him and asked him to call the police. I laughed and asked so you can point your finger in my face but the minute I stand up the police need to be called. By this time Sarah pointed and asked us to leave and I told her my niece wasn't finished with her drink and Sarah replied "oh she only have 3 sips left" I told Sarah I don't care how many sips you think she has but she's gonna finish her drink 1st. When my niece finished her drink we left and Sarah and the guy (Austin) that called the police which he was still on the phone with them walked us to the door and came outside wanting to get the license plate of the car that we were driving. As I'm standing in the parking lot I turned to Austin and told him I left from inside the restaurant but I'm waiting here outside of the restaurant for the police. I told him they're going to hear my story because I don't think Sarah is going to be honest because my family and I didn't do anything wrong. Austin replied and said "I'm just doing my job." Before I forget as Sarah was pointing her finger in my face my sister commented to my niece and said you can get your butt (ass)kicked doing something like that (point in people face). My niece shook her head. Sarah quickly replied and said "oh you're threaten me?'' My sister looked at her and said nobody talking to you. I think by this time Sarah realized that she was wrong and had messed up and was looking for things as a rebuttal to come back with something to say she felt we did. So, 2 police cars pulled up as we were waiting outside. One said he's going in to talk to the manger and the other asked us about what happened. Went in today for my birthday lunch at an early 1pm, it was not very crowded & was sat down quickly. Filth encrusted menus we were both given! Then the wait....waited 20 min for glasses of water to be dropped off. (She says, "fresh biscuits coming out so I will bring you some in a sec!". Never got any). Then another 15 min later the waitress comes back to ask for our food order...then after she asks if we want any kind of beverage besides the water we got in dirty glasses! People & people were filtering in and placing orders for their meals & our order was still not even taken! A while later I reluctantly ordered at my friends insistence it would be good food. We were told biscuits were about to come out bc they were out & we never got those either. Yes twice told we'd get biscuits we never received, and we were starving! She then took the order of a family that just sat down behind us less than 2 min before us (35 min after we were seated), and was taking so long that 10 min after our order was given to her....she still had the slip in her hand bc she was concerned with the big family ordering behind us. Not a beverage other than water, no cheddar bay biscuits. 45 min after we were seated & waitress STILL all consumed with larger order behind. So on the way out the door, I said "you can cancel our order". Snotty & callous I get the response " are you serious?". Mind you....nothing had been even sent back as far as any kind pf order STILL!! We sat at the bar for dinner. Every single employee behind the bar--and I mean every single employee from the Bartenders to staff passing through, bad mouthed each other, their job or both in front of all guests. This happened for the duration of our visit. Not many good things to say about this unprofessional Red Lobster location. My salad had green tomatoes in it and my broccoli was over-cooked to light green. The shrimp was good. This is why I don't do many chains. Poor quality and morale. read more

Excellent loberfest!Went on the last day of lobster fest for dads birthday. Our meals were the best I ever had. I had three lobster tails, green beans, baked potato and caprese salad. He had two tails, 5 scallops, corn on cob, green beans and baked potato. Everything was cooked perfectly. This food was every bit as good as high end restaurants with $75 tails. The server, he was excellent also. I am a food snob , and very particular,so this is a big compliment to Red Lobter! read more

My girlfriend and I are always looking to for a good place to eat at night as we drive around, it's definitely not here. We both had a craving for seafood & spotted Red Lobster. We usually are weary of this place, but now it's forever avoided. The atmosphere is dark, not romantic, just dark. The place was 2/5 filled & the patrons that attended were loud & obnoxious. Notoriously overpriced as we knew, we ordered anyhow. Ordered water with lemon, did not recieve lemon till after we ordered our meal, really? Manager was rude & obnoxious over us eating biscuits - horrible as well, way to salty. He stated " did you order a meal or just biscuits because I will have to charge you $9. ( saying with a smug smile.) We both eat healthy but they Screwed up the dinner orders as our request for no butter. Way to salty, small portions, over cooked salmon, cold lobster tail & shrimp, chewy asparagus. I think my partner had 1 teaspoon of mashed potatoes no BULL. Half way through the meal, the food was kicking back, we asked for another basket of biscuits (my girl is on a no-carb diet btw) to sop up the acid & oil they used. Horrible indigestion, we could not finish the meals. Here comes the biscuit nazi again, as the waitress gave us them. Looking at me "Did you eat your meal or filling up on biscuits?" asking in a mock smile sarcastic tone. (Im thinking wanna see biscuit heaven?) My significant other nicely says "hes just hugnry, hes a bodybuilder hehe". Im trying to be polite but all I can manage is a glare past my girlfriends shoulder. Took over 15 mins to receive our check as I believe the manager was reviewing our order. On our way out the waitress huddled back from the kitchen & handed us a 2-go bag of biscuits apologising for the meal. (We had complained & received no compensation of any kind.( We thanked her & left, I spotted the obnoxious portly manager way in the back of the kitchen as there was no door. Standing behind several waitress's & cooks talking about biscuits & portion size. What a jerk. Overall - dark dreary atomosphere as I believe they had just remodeled. Service was ok, good intentioned waitress but awful management. Nasty food & cheap. I eat healthy & know good food, a fish sandwhich from micky d's would suffice better than this joint. read more

I have always enjoyed coming here. We came here this Saturday and I really loved it! The service is better than any eatery I have ever been to. Each time I come here, the waiters are so friendly and caring. Our waitress kept checking on us every 10 minutes to make sure we were satisfied. She brought our drinks in under a minute and our food came in 20. Which was very little time considering it was a Saturday evening and was crowded. The food was delicious. The lobster mashed potatoes are so great! Would eat here any day. read more

My husband and I were staying in a nearby hotel so we decided to order to go online at 7:30pm. The pick up time was 8:08p.m. After arriving on time, I dialed the number on the curbside sign which was a third party company that takes you through all this other stuff and not straight to the restaurant. So I googled the restaurant's number to let them know we arrived for our food. After 10 minutes she comes to get the payment and another 10 minutes to bring the food out to us. We get back to the room only to have raw chicken tacos which I ate the first taco because it was cooked all the way thru. So obviously they used a whole chicken breast chopped up into 3 tacos and I had the cooked end. I bit into the second taco and spit it back out after noticing the chicken wasn't cooked all the way. My husband ordered the Ultimate Feast. His lobster was overcooked, baked potato was burnt and old, the rice was dry the salad had mushed tomatoes and welted lettuce. This was the worst $50 ever spent, the company has definitely gone downhill. read more

Wow. . . Boy, has this place gone downhill!!! We ordered the Caesar salads with our meals and they were HALF the size of what they used to be. Asked for extra dressing, and didn't get that, either. When our dinners arrived, we got maybe TWO tablespoonfuls of rice, and when we asked to speak to the manager, was told that it was a "garnish" and not meant to be an accompaniment. NEWSFLASH, Red Lobster, I have gotten the rice MANY times in the past, and it was NEVER a garnish--if so, it should be stated as such on your menu! They also forgot my tartar sauce, and I'd also ordered a side of green beans with mushrooms, and never received that, either! It was a bit later that I realized it after all the other oversights, and so the manager says, "You've just noticed now that you didn't get the green beans?" My answer? YES! There were so many other issues to contend with, what did you expect??? Bottom line is, the Red Lobster that we knew and loved no longer exists--and what a shame, since it WAS one of our favorite places to go. BTW, this was a BIRTHDAY dinner as well, so needless to say, it wasn't the most festive of celebrations. As a side note, the crab crackers are a thing of the past (my boyfriend had to use his fork), and Michelob Ultras are $4.50 a piece--price gouging, to say the least, since it IS a domestic beer. Dark dreary expensive and just not good! Don't waist time or money at Red Lobster try brennan's in grand river instead.

We used to eat here monthly and then they discontinued oysters so we stopped coming, had a coupon so thought we give it a try again. We were pleasantly surprised, meals were excellent, oyster were some of the best I've eaten in 30 years. We were driving around looking for a new place to eat and passed Red Lobster. Could we stoop so low? I mean isn't that like a fast food restaurant? Gotta tell you we were pretty happy. My husband and son got the crab & roasted garlic bake and were very pleased. I got the crab linguini Alfredo and that was to kill for! We were served delicious little garlic flavored biscuits and an awesome Caeser salad. Lots of food! I had my leftovers the next day. Yummy!! The restaurant was clean and cute nautical theme. Felt a bit like I was in Maine. On the down side - very rich food high in calories and somewhat salty. I took a long bike ride after dinner. I do think they have a low Na & carb menu though. We were extremely impressed with Mark. He was very nice and professional. He checked on us thoughout the entire duration of our stay. The food was good. However, it failed in comparison to his excellent service. There was a long wait time before we were eventually seated. But, the way we were treated made it worth the wait. I recommend Mark in any restaurant setting. The very best waiter. We notified management of our experience we hope she let him know of how pleased we were. 5 Star service. read more

Very disappointing. It took 13 minutes for someone to greet us. The menus were filthy. The people next to us angrily left because their salads and drinks hadn't come out after 20 minutes. It took 21 minutes to get our salads and drinks. There was no silverware on our table. The GM was bussing tables and couldn't be bothered to greet anyone. The employees all looked miserable. Our waitress was good and we left a nice tip. Our food was good. The bathrooms are too dark. When we left we weren't thanked or invited back. When we walked out, the cook was sitting on the bench, outside, smoking. (He had his Red Lobster hat on.) Thank you competent staff of Mentor Red Lobster for screwing over my mothers birthday surprise! I called an hour and a half before we were expecting to be there to order a slice of cake that was to be brought out at the end of the meal for my mother. The woman I talked to was nice, understanding and helpful though she advised me that the shift change was coming up and to call again closer to our arrival. So I called half an hour before our arrival and the new woman who answered the phone simply would not listen to a thing I had to say. Call ahead seating? "You need to call us a few hours before you plan on coming here" Cake for my mother? "Yeah sure just bring it in a few hours before hand" (even though I was trying to buy a piece of cake from their restaurant, not bring one in for them to hold for me) Had she listened to a word I was trying to say, things probably could have went smoothly. Upon our arrival we could very clearly hear the girl saying to another waiter "You're taking them. I'm not doing it. You are taking these ones" Very professional. Our waiter Josh was very nice however if a little bit slow, though he was training a new girl which is understandable. The food was as good as Red Lobster gets, the lettuce in our salads was a little brown, but no real qualms. That piece of cake I ordered an hour and a half before we got there? Never came to our table. Although the blonde who didn't seem to like us made it a point to stop over and say "I hear it's someone's birthday today!!" and then run off to her next task. I would say "So much for keeping it a surprise" but we never even got the cake so no harm done there. All in all I think it's time for my family to move on to a new restaurant for celebrations, since trying to organize even a small one there was too much of a hassle. read more

We went there last night. It was not very busy only 1 other couple waiting. We asked for a table because my wife is in a walking cast and it makes it much easier for her to sit. We waited over 30 min and 12 -14 people being seated while we waited. We told the hostess to change it to any seating. They called us about 5 min later and surprise it was a table. The server got to us and took our drink order but it took 15 min to get a cup of coffee, "It was being made" the rest of the meal was just ok. The food was alright but not spectacular. The service was alright, he did screwup and brought an extra salad bur we were not charged for it. Won't be one of my first choices in the future. read more

Husband had the fish and chips. His fish had a big piece of bone/cartridge and the batter was so thick he was scraped half of it off. I ordered the crab linguine alfredo, got the chicken instead. If you are looking for good seafood, Red Lobster is not your place. I've been here 3 times in about 2 years and all three times the food was not good and neither was the service. The last time was about a month ago when I was craving some good ol' fish and chips and didn't want to drive to our favorite pub in Legacy Village, Claddaugh. My sad dish came with previously frozen fries and previously frozen fish. It definitely did NOT look hand-battered. The fish itself was so dry, I had to drown it in tartar sauce and the flavor itself was not good at all. The salads that came with our meal was wilted iceberg lettuce that tasted like it was made either the day before or that morning. We had to ask our server for refills on drinks, and that was when we caught her walking by which wasn't often. We also had to ask for a refill of cheddar biscuits and she actually gave us a look of disgust at our wanting more. Sadly, those biscuits were the best part of our meal. I've never been happy with the food here, I've had much better seafood at other restaurants. Not only that, but the prices are high for the quality of food they serve. I'm always so confused when I see a full restaurant and parking lot at the Mentor location. I'm guessing people just don't know any better. If you want good seafood in the area, your best bet is Pickle Bills in Grand River. I won't be back at Red Lobster. read more

This place is terrible!! Eat at your own risk. Spent $65 for a very early dinner/lunch on a Sunday. We had one appetizer to share, one NY Strip steak dinner, one wood grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops dinner, one cup of coffee and one water. The steak tasted like it was warmed up from the night before. The seafood smelled and tasted very old - strong fish smell and again tasted like it was warmed up. We would not recommend this place to anyone. What a waste of money! We are home not feeling very well right now. read more

This 3/5 star rating is NOT because of the food. The food is always cooked correctly and is always as fresh as can be and they have a cool display of lobster in the waiting room and it keeps kids busy and amazed during the wait so they have something to do. Now for the reason this got a 3/5 rating. Because of the find being so good and perctly cooked of course they are going to have a lot of business I mean what would you expect? But something I would expect them to do is toboth are some new renovations and t add a second floor. Their first floor does have quite a bit of seating potions such as full booths, tables with fully moving chairs, tables with swiveling chairs, and half booth half table seating so imagine what they could do with a second floor. Another reason this got a 3/5 star rating is because there. Not very much seating in the waiting room. So half of the time I give my seat to an older woman so she can sit. So now that there are about thirty people standing people that just finished their dinner can't get out the door because everyone has to stand in front of it so the waiters and waitresses can walk back the kitchen. Also imagine the struggles for people trying to get in. So if you see this Red Lobster without a line coming out the door then stop turn around and take advantage of it and get some delicious food minus the waiting room! read more

Love Red Lobster back in Chicago but our first time in Ohio. Server was not knowledgeable of the menu. Sons Mac and cheese was honestly the worst I've ever seen or tasted but fries were ok at best. Daughter order fried shrimp but had to find all 5 of them under the fries and when we did were scary looking and she wouldn't touch them. Order an appetizer before drinks but didn't show up for more than an hour just before dinner. Wife had endless shrimp but after the first serving it took 15 minutes to get a small plate more but we're pretty good. My fish tacos were ok but fish was way over cooked. Extreme disappointment and changed our view of how much we used to love it. Red Lobster used to be my absolute favorite restaurant! NOT anymore!! The food has really been bad lately. My last 2 visits my food was barely warm and the service isn't good at all either. I will NOT be going back to Red Lobster for a long time. Very disappointed how much this place has gone down hill. Please read! Myself, my 3 children and one of their friends went to Red Lobster for dinner. Two of us ordered the "all you can eat shrimp". At the end of the meal, I asked for a take-out container for part of my "original" order (not seconds or thirds) .. my original order. The server said I'm not allowed a take-out container. Tried to explain it was my original order, she still refused. I asked for the manager and got the same result. After the disagreement, we finished and left. This next part is the amazing part .. as we were walking out, a police officer pulled up to us. We were all stunned! He questioned us as to what happened inside the restaurant. After, I told him, I asked him why he was called. He said that the manager claimed that we ordered alcoholic beverages and she refused us and once she did, we became threatening. Unbelievable! No one ordered alcohol. She fabricated the entire story because we disagreed with her about the take-out. I reached out to Red Lobster Corporate and had no return call. I called again over 3 months later to hear a rep tell me that the case was closed because it was the policy to not give take-out boxes. I again, made the point that it was about the fabricated story from the manager to the police, and he was still not helpful at all. My son who worked at the store in the past heard later from current employees that it was known around the store that the manager had fabricated the story to the police. I cannot imagine that any decent company would allow a manager to fabricate a story to the police about it's customer and let it be swept under the rug. I'll admit I love the food but I will never go to a Red Lobster again! Please be careful to question a Red Lobster rule .. you may be answering to the local police. read more

I was looking forward to the endless shrimp. arrived and was told there was a 20 minute wait - noticed there were a lot of open tables (no wait staff during dinner hours?). A party came in behind us and was seated before us - excuse there is a new hostess - strange she was the one that took our name. Finally we were seated and the manager stopped by and made more excuses and said our waiter would be right over. 10 minutes later - NO waiter. another table had been seated after us and received the drinks and were about to order and we still did not have a waiter. Needless to say we did not wait any longer. i went to see the manager as i was leaving and he made more excuses. Must have been a miss communication with the staff. You would have thought he would have told the wait staff about us being seated. Then he said he would personally wait on us - I said I ad waited long enough. VERY disappointed!!!!! Went to Red Lobster today 1/2/15 for lunch at about 1:45 PM. The food was good, My golden fried cat fish was excellent. The service from our waitress was above excellent. the BIG let down to the whole visit was the wait to get seated. We were initially told about twenty minutes. Well Almost 45 minutes later, we were seated. We stood the whole time and we stared at three empty tables near the bar that they just didn't bother to bus. We were a party of four and all three tables would have seated us or the three other parties ahead of us. This was very disheartening and we would have left had my 90 year old father in law not had his heart set on dining there. There was a party of about ten people going on near us which we didn't mind but the Bass from the stereo was just mind bending. This was not the Red Lobster on Reynolds road I was used to. It will probably be a good while before we go there again. It is too bad too, as this used to be a decent to good establishment. read more
