During my keto days, I used to go to the Beachwood WL all the time to eat some bone in wings when they were discounted on Mondays. I haven't been back to any WL location in about 3 years since my diet ended however. Well, my bf was in town and we both have never had a clambake dinner so we decided on the Mayfield Heights WL for dinner the Friday he came into town in Oct 2025. It would be my first time having non-keto food at Winking Lizard in a long time. Unsurprisingly, this place was PACKED on a Friday night, thanks to having clam bakes each weekend for the next few weeks. Because they don't take reservations, we waited over an hour for a 2 person table. Fortunately, we could munch on freshly popped popcorn while we waited. I could tell the staff was exasperated by how busy it was. Finally, we were seated but since we got filled up on free popcorn, we decided to share a bbq chicken clambake meal ($26) and then add on one $14 lobster tail to share. We also each got one cocktail- me, a yummy orange fanta dreamsicle boozy delight and him, a fruity mule. Our meal came with a dozen clams, which I did NOT like. So I ate 3 and my bf ate the other 9. Fortunately, the bbq chicken was tender and the sweet potato and cinnamon butter was hot and so so good. The corn, clam chowder, and garlic bread were wolfed down by us as well so we must have enjoyed them. The lobster was a skinny little thing and did not have enough meat to justify being $14. Overall, the food and the terrible wait were a 3.5. They should implement online reservations. My drink was a 5++, and the vibes are a 4. I am glad my bf got to try out this local neighborhood chain but I dont feel like we need to come back for a clam bake ever again. Maybe we will try their tasty looking pizzas next time! I visited Winking Lizard with some friends recently and had a fantastic meal. I tried the catfish po'boy from their Mardi Gras menu--it was delicious and very filling! Well I was at a table with 3 friends. Monday night we ordered wings. Hey usually Wednesday we go to B Rox for wings 50 cents and delicious. We decided to try lizard well not very happy with the service, or the manager Angel. I got my wings 45 minutes after I ordered and 25 minutes after everyone else got their food. When angel came over she told me I'm not refunding your wings. I gave them back and got a refund for their wings. Way to go angel your customer service sucks. I liked this place. The food was pretty decent and the beer selection was outstanding in variety and size choices. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and it was decent. I requested a side of their hottest wing sauce (fire in the hole) and it was fairly legit. I definitely recommend asking for it as a side, especially if you like hot food. One person in our group ordered the fried fish and said it was bad. Service was okay; they need more staff - hence the 4 stars. Oh, popcorn machine out front. Tons of televisions for game days. No thanks, there are plenty of other bars in the area. 2nd time trying this place and both times the service is uncomfortable, awkward, rude, and just plain obnoxious. Went there with a group of friends, and sat in the dining room section. Everyone else ordered their drinks and when it was my turn, I ordered my drink and she snarled her face at me and made a yucky face. Immediately I thought she was indirectly trying to tell me the draft was bad or something wrong w/ their batch right now. So, when I asked her what was wrong with my order, all she said was that she personally didn't like it. So, I asked her what her recommendation was, and she had none to offer. Like wtf is your problem with my order. I then immediately realized it was me and my appearance and who I was as a human being that she had the problem with. I am just appalled at discriminatory people working in service environments. Like what is the point of being a server if you're not able to check your bias before you clock in. Please find another job somewhere else, I am not interested in ever going back because 1st time service was garbage, and now 2nd time service is garbage. I left the standard 15% tip, (on a Friday afternoon 1:30pm ish sat in the dining room) because I understand serving is difficult, but I will never go back again. We went with family that recommended the place, we enjoyed the uniqueness of the restaurant. They have an iguana that appeared to be well taken care of. We were not happy with our waitress last night. We asked for water. She never brought it. I asked for wet naps to clean my fingers from my wings and she never brought them. We could see her behind the bar talking to a coworker. My husband got up to try to get her attention since we got the impression she was intentionally ignoring us, she snapped that she'd be right over. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. This was actually my first time at this location. My party of two was seated fairly quick. Our waitress, Diane came over promptly, but I think she may have forgotten us after we said we needed a couple minutes. She came back in 20. Overall she was very efficient and matter of fact. This wasn't your warm welcoming waitress experience, but she did get the job done. I feel this may be the culture of the location, because everyone we encountered from the hostess on was this way. We each ordered 10 wings and shared some potato skins. The food was very over cooked. Every single item was dried out and hard. I kept thinking the next piece would be different, but it never was. Hit this spot up last minute with some friends and was not disappointed. Place was packed at the bar but we managed to get 3 seats. Had no plans for it, but it was half priced rib rack night! The first time my wife and I went to this location the experience and the food was fabulous. A month later, we decided to return. The experience was TERRIBLE, but the food was ok. First, the server approached the table and said, "What do you want?" Usually, a server says, "How are you? My name is ___________. What can I start you with? None of this happened. The server's behavior reflected that he didn't want to be there, or just did not want to serve our table. After we ordered drinks, the server returned to take our order. My wife ordered a veggie pizza, but she asked for sausage to be added. The server made a smart remark about her order. He said, "It's a veggie pizza but you're adding sausage. Then, he laughed. Afterwards he said, "I'm just messing with you." My wife and I don't know the server well enough for him to make remarks like that. That's a remark that you make when you know someone well. He is suppose to be a professional and his remark was unprofessional and judging. Not appreciated. Once our food arrived, my wife's order was wrong. A cheese and sausage pizza was delivered, which was completely incorrect. The server checked his order input and tells another female server about the incorrect pizza delivery (I guess she was a server. She didn't introduce herself.) Our server then tells the female, "It wasn't me. I didn't put in the wrong order." No one apologized for the inconvenience. The female took the pizza back to the kitchen. About 10-minutes later, the female came back with the correct order. While we were eating, the server walked by the table and asked "You good?" Then, he kept walking. We said, "Yes." I'm not really not sure if he heard us because he kept walking. He did not come back to see if we need refills on beverages either. My wife and I were ready to leave because the experience was awful and felt completely disrespected by the server's behavior and lack of professionalism. We asked the server, in a polite manner, (hoping he would be polite in return) for a box to take the rest of the pizza home. The server left our table and wiped down two other tables, checked his phone, watched some tv then decided to bring a to-go box to our table. However, he didn't give us the to-go box. He just threw the to-go box on the table. That was it! My wife and I looked at each other, we knew his actions and behavior were not an accident. He was being rude on purpose. We have no idea why. I'm going to start off with my complaint I did ask for the burger to be a little bit pink but it came out more medium well.. not the worst thing in the world, it happens. The waitress was awesome. The drinks we ordered were great. Even the appetizers were good. I really enjoyed the outdoor patio it was great weather so you have to go outside in great weather. Love the environment at this Winking Lizard location. As always, great beer selection. The Chicken Cheddar Club is very tasty and the wife really enjoyed the Hanson Burger with onions, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. The outside bar tables are an excellent location for an outside feel without the full sun. Slow service on a not busy night is somewhat frustrating but the inconsistency in service is the norm for this location. Hopefully they can get it figured out soon. Good food, great beers, and a friendly environment always makes up for it! Completed 100 beers on the Tour of Beers at the Lizard. If you are a beer lover and interested in expanding your tastes, then this is a great experience. The range of beers based on styles and location is amazing. The list of options is overwhelming at times and has changed monthly. Received a cool jacket and gift card that essentially reimbursed my entrance fee. I've eaten at many Winking Lizard locations over the decades, and they do a very good job of providing consistency each time and across locations, which is really tough for restaurants to do. Service is always prompt and friendly at the Lizard, and they are always clean. The food is always good, but there is nothing that makes me say "that's one of the best (insert items) I've ever had." It's always a very great, very fun experience to visit the Lizard, but the food is never incredible. This particular location is off the street and not easy to find. It does however have an absolutely amazing outdoor space with multiple large firepits. All in all, the lizard is a consistent old friend that is always there when you need them. read more

Winking Lizard is not good... but it's consistently mediocre. They have a large food menu, big portions, and hit or miss service. We go to the Winking Lizard all the time even though it's just meh. The Pros: large draft beer selection, lots of food choices, can accommodate large groups, some locations have a nice patio, open late. The Cons: nothing on the menu is particularly good and sometimes service can be really shitty. It's the go-to spot when you're in one of those moods where you can't decide what you want to eat. And you are so hungry that you don't care anymore. Everything is just ok. You won't be disappointed if you adjust your expectations accordingly. You won't be blown away by the food, but it also won't be terrible. It's a solid 3 stars. read more

Went to Winking Wizard on Valentine's Day for dinner with my wife. Had a great meal and awesome service and thought this place is great. I returned on Tuesday for a quick bite to eat. It was about 7:15 PM. First as I was walking up, a group of twenty people were walking out. Thought nothing of it. When I get inside and ask for a table, I was told there was a 25 minute wait. There was a couple seated and waiting as well. I was also told I could go to the bar area. I was not too keen on that since I do not drink, but went anyway. Passing the dining area, i saw many open tables and went to the bar area where there were many open tables and sat at one. A waitress came and asked if I was seated by a server and I said no. She told me I would have to wait to be seated since the kitchen can't keep up with the orders. WHAT?????? I was extremely annoyed and walked out the restaurant and started to look up other restaurant but to no avail. So I went back in. I then watched as another 15 people leave the restaurant and there I sat waiting. I waited about twelve minutes and the waitress who told me I had to be seated was the one who was seating me now. When we get to bar area she guides me to table and I ask for the table that I originally sat at, which was in her serving area and she said that this table is being served right now by another waitress. I was so annoyed but hungry so I took the seat. Remarkably after I was seated, the bar area filled up included the next people that walked in were seated at the table I wanted. For the meal I ordered hot wings, loaded fries and Ice tea. The food was good and the service from my waitress great, but after that debacle I highly doubt i would go again nor would I advise others to go. I thought I found a great place despite some of the reviews but the reviews are correct. Either you have good experience or you don't, it's just a mixed bag and when you can get consistency elsewhere, I will choose elsewhere. read more

We came here after a disappointing experience with another restaurant. I've heard their wings were pretty good, so I figured what the heck, I'll give them a go! We walked in and they were pretty busy, which is a good sign. The hostess told us it would be 25 minutes and we waited probably 10, which is also a plus! We were seated and our waitress came over, who was very friendly. We ordered waters and then I ordered a beer. Holy Moley, their beer list! It's awesome! We ordered 60 cent wings and fries. The food didn't take long at all to come and our waitress checked in with us to make sure we didn't need anything as we waited. Our food was delicious. I enjoy this location a lot! The food is always good and the drinks are very reasonably price, and there are so many options for beers and whiskey's. The outdoor area is nice, I enjoy sitting by the fire and watching the games. There are enough tv's to be able to watch any game or event you like and I have always had my requests answered. I enjoy going here because it is convenient and a good environment. They also have different specials each month. I recommend for anyone who enjoys reasonably priced food and drinks. read more
