Patio Bar

Brand new brew pub behind main drag of Erie St. in downtown Willoughby. They opened 2 weeks before our visit. They currently offer 6 beers they brew on tap, and Yuengling. Full bar with mixed drinks is available, and pub food such as pizza, nachos, and sandwiches. They don't have flights, which is a bit disappointing because we'd like to try all their beers. We were able to get samples, which gave us an idea on where to start. Overall, it was a nice little addition to Willoughby.

Had the Sky burst IPA. Very good. Hubby had Vedett which is a guest Tap. He liked it. Ordered SPO pizza and Sausage stuffed peppers which had a little kick and. was just right for us. Pizza was good as well. Server (Destiny) was hostess, bar keto and server all in one and she did a great job with all of it. Very friendly.

3 IPA's on tap. From left, their West Coast, there 7% IPA, and then their Tricky IPA. My personal favorite was the West Coast.

Had a free evening and decided to visit this new brewery. Depending on which way you come into the parking lot you may see the old sign of the previous Willoughby Brewing Company still up, but on the entrance side of building there is the Tricky Tortoise Brewing name in huge letters. Was a Saturday eve, the parking lot was full and with the weather being great their patios were busy. We came in and were seated fairly quickly. From the moment we sat down we were constantly checked on for service which was fantastic. We ordered a a few beers to try and had a couple of the ones we preferred. Ordered food and was not disappointed. The food, beer and service will have us return. We hope it stays that way. Also love that beers appear to always be Happy Hour price vs other breweries which is nice.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the friendliest staff and your sense of smell is pleased by the delicious aromas permeating from the kitchen!!! The service was incredible and our server Steph was excellent! The food and drinks are fantastic and get a 10/10! I would highly recommend coming here and enjoying all the hand crafted cocktails, delicious food and incredible service!

We decided to try this place as it was new to DTW. We first ran into the issue of parking; be prepared to pay $6 for parking in the restaurant's lot. The restuarant itself is quite bland inside (I noticed someone mentioned the broken blinds, and I did see those as well), but the service was pleasant. I got the Blueberry Lemonade cocktail, and it was quite good, well-balanced and you could actually taste the drink it was meant to be. They have a limited beer list, and the food menu is your average bar menu. I felt as though we should've had an appetizer evening instead, but we wanted to try the actual meals. The pulled pork sandwich was dry and limited on BBQ sauce, and you should be able to taste how it was "cooked in their own brew," but it didn't quite hit the mark. Next, the pizza was okay; it was cooked well, but you could tell the crust wasn't homemade or fresh. It would be interesting if they had just a few specialties that separated them from other bars in the area, but it could be a good hangout every now and again. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I probably won't go back. Parking: The parking lot for Tricky Tortoise, Sol, Barrio, and basically that little strip are private property, not public parking. The sign says "all day parking $6," but we only spent about an hour in the lot. Kind of awkward that you need to pay to be a patron of the restaurant.

First time trying Garage Bar and was pleasantly surprised. Greeted warmly by Sarah behind the bar…read more And then met the new owners who were very friendly and welcoming and are trying to improve the kitchen and liquor offerings as well as the reputation of this establishment. They've cleaned it up and seem to be trying very hard to make a nice establishment. We enjoyed the food which is typical bar food offerings but done well. Give it a try and forget about what it USED to be!

WOW!!! First time patron... last time. This place needs to be on TV show "Bar Rescue" because of…read morethe shenanigans performed by bar tenders! The one bartender with blonde super curly hair was wearing a stripper outfit and twerking with her barely there mini skirt and easy to see thong on for all the men at the bar. Not to mention the two handfuls of shots she did with other patrons only added to her belligerent behavior. The other bartender was clearly picking up the slack but was also drinking heavily. Both were very pleasant with us but not very attentive. Food was good. Witnessed multiple people coming to the bar and waiting to be served and leaving without being helped after several minutes. The bar was not that busy and had many open seats mind you. I will mention, I put myself through school being a bartender and I know that letting loose with regulars helped build lasting friendships but I could never imagine getting that intoxicated while at work. I'm hoping that the owners of this bar aren't loosing their asses on giving away merchandise. If I was the owner, I would literally fire everyone but the cook. if you want a freak show.... This is your place to go. BTW... giving 2 stars because my food was good and beer was cold.
