Nice little menu to sit down for date night or to gather with some friends. They have a lot of different wines and you have to check back periodically. When the seasons change so do the flavors. Very flavorful and we ended up grabbing two bottles to take home. During the summer they will have special nights where they cook out on the grill maybe ribs or burgers but you have to sign up for reservations if you're planning on doing this. We got lucky the night we went and they were nice enough to give us the burger special since the rib dinner reservation was all booked up. I first discovered this little charming cidery and winery from my partner who had tried the cider elsewhere. Returning from Erie, he found that we'd be passing Knocking Noggin so we swung by. We've made the trip three times now. We've only been disappointed once when my partner and I bought 4 growlers for a gathering we were having and none of them tasted good. Something happened where they were either mixed or went bad in a matter of two days. I reached out to management, and they quickly responded with apologies offering to provide us with complimentary refills. We brought our growlers back just as promised and they were refilled at no charge. Some of my favorite ciders have been the seasonal ones including Butter Beer, Pineapple, and Chocolate Strawberry. Pineapple is my top one hopefully coming back in the summertime. If you have the chance, visit this place during a town festival or even when nothing is happening to just have a wine slushy or glass of wine out on the patio. Everything is order at the bar. Take drinks with you, and place a number placard on your table for food delivery. You can keep open a tab as they physically hold your card, or pay as you go. We went right at opening (4pm) on a Saturday in August. There were storms on the horizon so all the table reservations were held inside. We were still able to get a nice table as walk ins. Actually it was a perfect table near the stage. Too bad we were way too early for the live music. There were a couple of large groups celebrating birthdays in the back room by the fireplace.

A Long Overdue Return to Mastropietro Winery…read more We finally made it back to Mastropietro Winery after seven years--and what a perfect day for it. It was a quiet winter afternoon, but with a surprising twist: a hot and sunny 77-degree day that felt more like early summer than mid-winter. Naturally, we took advantage of the weather and enjoyed our wine outside, soaking in the sunshine and peaceful atmosphere. I realized I'd never taken a photo in front of the iconic Mastropietro sign--so this visit felt long overdue in more ways than one. We sampled several wines during our visit, and I was really impressed. The Vidal Blanc stood out right away--off-dry, estate-grown, with just a touch of oak that gave it a subtle, elegant complexity. The Riesling was bright and delicious, and the Cabernet was smooth and easy to enjoy. But the real star for me was the Chambourcin--absolutely fantastic! If I heard correctly, it's 100% Chambourcin and estate-grown as well, which made it all the more special. Mastropietro continues to impress, and this visit reminded me why it's such a gem. Cheers to great wine, unexpected weather, and coming back to places that feel like home.
