You have to try this! Take the drive, stay local and love the beer/food! Joined friends on a little road trip to Minerva, solely to try out Sandy Springs (SS) brewery. Besides having a interesting story behind this little small town brewery (look it up online), it turned out to be an incredible 'Hidden Gem'. Located on a street corner in downtown, it has a cool side street patio and a back alley Igloo/picnic area as well. We visited during the winter, so inside was only option but seating options, bar/tables, were plenty. We visited many breweries and many dont have food. SS has great beer and great food too. We enjoyed the Gobbler Panini (turkey) and the home made Mac & Cheese (Asiago Cheese) plus can substitute Hummus/Veggies for Chips if they aren't your thing. Both delicious but didnt compare to the Pigs & Waffles our friends got. Luckily got a taste of this incredible sandwich. Pork Ends, bacon, gouda with maple syrup on two fresh waffles. Yum Yum! Brews - the have samplers, growlers, etc. Started with a sampler of Vitamin P, Help Me Helga, Kilty Pleasure, and FROSTY THE STOUTMAN. Vitamin P and Kilty were both good, but FROSTY WAS INCREDIBLE. It is a White Stout - with great taste and not heavy. Bought several to go after the fact as well. So - give it a try. Servers (especially Angie), Interior, management, food and brews were all incredible. AND - if you plan it out, there is a AirBnb/B&B in the building and attached. Small microbrewery with great beer & food. I had a panini & a Bohemian Pilsner. Good sandwich w/pickle spear & a bag of chips. Sandwich was good size & tasty. The Pilsner was great tasting! Passing through town and found this place right along US30. It has the appearance of an old gas station yet it's a brewery with very tasty food, and beer. Service is kind and attentive. They have a good selection of tasty beers, and their food selection is great. We had such an amazing experience at Sandy Springs Brewery. We decided to reserve an igloo to have our own private area. We were immediately greeted by the friendly staff working behind the bar. They took us to our private igloo and explained all the features available to us. We had a cute little remote that would turn on a light to to signal to our server that we needed something. It was a cute little fireplace/heater in our igloo and comfy chairs. We all tried a variety of beer made on-site and nibbled on some of the items from the food menu. The pretzels and beer cheese will not disappoint you. The flatbreads were loaded with toppings. The to-go beers are large and in charge coming in at 32 or 64 oz. but it was nice to be able to take home some of their quality drafts. They have a Brewers quarters available to rent if you want to spend the night which is a great option for those visiting from out of town. We can't wait to go back in the summer time and hang out on the patio or in the beer garden. Definitely stop and check this place out! read more

Wow! So excited for Minerva to get a place like Sandy Springs! I am from the area and when I go home to visit, it is difficult to find a fun place to have some drinks with friends, which is exactly what a brewery can offer. My friends and I swung by when I was home for Thanksgiving break and had a great time. Not only was the beer excellent, but it was great to meet the folks behind the brewery, we learned a lot about the family and their story. Now on to the beer - excellent! The Christmas styled ale (the name escapes me) was great and my ultimate favorite was the Dalai Mama (I am a sucker for an IPA!). The food was good, it was nice to be offered a variety of things to munch on while you're trying the beers. I will definitely be back, each and every time I am home to visit! :) read more

We loved the ambiance but really disappointed by a few missteps that really are no brainers. 1. They insist on grabbing your credit card as soon as you walk in the door. Come on really, we can't sit down at the bar and order beers AND a meal without giving you a credit card in advance? I understand that maybe you once experienced a few sketchy people that might come in and try to steal beers, but to treat all your customers like they are potential criminals? How about hiring enough employees to wait on your clients and keep an eye to see that they are not walking out? There were definitely not enough people working there to take care of the customers. So grabbing everyone's credit card on the way in is a poor shortcut for providing lame service. We ate at the bar and had to wave our hands and try to beg for everything we needed (beer& food) 2. Beer was not cold. When we asked about it, one of the bartenders said, "Yah, all of our tap beers are not that cold." Ok, so what beer do you have that is cold? "Nothing". Solution=turn up the temp on the refrigeration. 3. We ordered two meals. One keto burger served on a big bed of lettuce. Other was a sandwich minus ranch dressing. When we asked for a small side of dressing for the keto bed of lettuce, we were asked to produce our credit card to pay extra for that. Sorry, but a smile and a tablespoon of salad dressing would have been an appropriate response. This brewery might be the only game in town right now, but treating customers like atm machines will eventually drive us all away. Hope the absentee owners read this and make some changes. read more

Their are no servers and not a large place for seating. Very loud but I suppose most bars are. I had the maibock at 7.6 alcohol content very nice. Wonderful little spot right in downtown Minerva. There isn't a lot of parking available, but it's not a big spot. I recommend the outside seating. The food menu is short. Sandwiches and salads, with a few odd items. Everything we had was delicious and well priced. The beer was fantastic. I highly recommend getting the sampler so you can try four different ones. There were a few that really stuck out that'd I definitely get again, James Blonde and Hello Sweettart. None of them were bad though. read more

Made it here on a weekend trip from Cleveland area, so well worth it! I was impressed with the location, vibe, beers, and bites! My partner and I shared the Turkey panini and Ahi Tuna kale broccoli Salad. Sooo delish, fresh ingredients from local farms/ dairy. We sat outside since the weather was perfect. Yay so excited about this place! I come to Minerva now and then to visit my grandma, and let me tell ya, you run out of good places to eat real quick. Minerva is a pretty small town so this is an AMAZING addition!! They have an amazing selection of beers and the food is delicious. I would definitely recommend getting a flight - that way you can try several different ones! The atmosphere is fun. It definitely has a brewery vibe, but it's not over done. It feels cozy and comfortable. The service is wonderful (shout out to my girl Kristen) and everything was brought out promptly and tasted great. I've never really been to Minerva before, but after visiting SSBC for the first time last night I'm pretty sure this will be the primo hot spot in the area for quite a while. The taproom is gorgeously adorned in re-purposed wood and looks like a cross between rustic and new-age. The patio contains two old-school gas pumps and back-when fixings reflecting an earlier age in town history. It's going to be nice out there when summer hits. The menu is fairly deep with flavor and varying sizes ranging from flight to growler. I found a few brews I liked well enough like the Dalai Mama, Vitamin P, & Kilty Pleasure. Sampled the Market Street Flatbread and it tasted great. The only drawback I could see was the taproom is slightly small and there were a LOT of people there on a Friday evening so try and go on a weekday if you can, otherwise you may be waiting a bit to order. Again, the patio is going to be super-useful in the summer. It's going to be a popular spot for a while. I will be coming back. read more

If you love craft beer- this is the place for you! Their beers are the best my husband and i have had! But this place goes beyond your expectations - it's a super cute/hip environment (including the bathrooms -- super clean), their food is amazing, and great service. Too bad we live 45 minutes away-- but we do get here as often as we can. It's located downtown - which by the way is a brick road - awesome local murals. I just got back from Sandy Springs Brewery and wanted to immediately Yelp the great experience we had!First off, the architecture is so cool and we were so fortunate to meet Julie(the owners mom)and she told us all about the history of the materials used and she was great(Lots of beautiful rustic wood from there rustic 100+ year old barn that burned down)Then we sat and enjoyed samples of great beers and tasty flatbreads taken care of by 2 great bartenders Leacon and Abby..This place is a must stop if your ever near Minerva OH,I was visiting from San Diego and whenever Im back to OHIO to visit family I will definitely be stopping in!!!!!!!!!I wish it were in SD!!!!!! read more

Sandy Springs Brewing is worth the drive to Minerva. They just opened in November 2017 & my fellow home brewer & I really enjoyed the beers. I am a certified beer judge & the beers were all accurately made to style. This is not the case with many newly opened breweries. Went early on a Sunday afternoon. The ambience is wonderful and I liked the varied seating with the benches around the wall. Not sure about those really low back stools but loved all the decor. The outside patio looked really cute too except being real close to the road. Good small menu, which I like; I had the Gouda morning egg sandwich that was delicious and properly portioned imo.
