Met some friends here for dinner on their back patio...the weather was lovely and there were 7 of us - we were seated easily which was great! Service was friendly and the right amount of attentive, making sure our water glasses were full and checking in on our party. Food options are mostly bar/pub type food (understandably so) but they have a couple of salads. Not a ton of vegetarian options unfortunately, so I ended up eating appetizers and tried their fish sandwich. That said, the fried pickles were amazing (they put dill in the batter which I loved) and they came with an excellent dipping sauce. The onion rings were good but super greasy and the breading was a little thicker than I would prefer. The giant soft pretzel was SO GOOD...I wish I'd gotten a photo of that but we demolished it! Fish sandwich was decent but nothing to write home about...pretty thick breading there too but the fish was good and it came with a huge serving of fries. Stopped here on a Tuesday night recently and had beers and dinner cheap! Caston's red ale is $2 off before 6 o'clock. It was much better than Caston's IPA in my opinion. I had the flatbread which was 1/2 price if ordered before 6pm and was good not great. Pepperoni, cheese and sauce. It is nice inside with a rustic feel. My fish and chips were moderately warm, not really a problem even though they weren't busy, my problem was we didn't see the server for awhile. When they brought the bill, we were charged $38.00 for the $24.00 new york special, and they tacked on an extra $3.08 to my my fish and chips order. Honestly have been here before and it was amazing the bartender was awesome, this visit however has made my husband and I rethink coming here again. We get there at 650-7:00pm got seated and ordered drinks, got our water, and sweet tea, my husband ordered a gin and tonic and we didn't get it until 40 mins later, also didn't use either gin he asked for and waitress was no where to be found, we ask to speak to the manager, who comes over and takes our order, we order Mac and cheese for our son and three appetizers to share. Our son got his food a good 10 minutes before we did, and they gave my husband a tall drink not his normal gin and tonic, we see us and one other table not get waited on and finally get our check and not one thing was discounted or taken care of. Husband asks to speak to manager again, who acts like he had no clue how to fix this scenario and then went on to completely annihilate this waitress, but it was overall bad service all around. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant in this area. My family and I made a reservation for 16 people, weeks in advance and when we got there it took 30 minutes to receive our drinks, an hour to place our food order and it took around 2 hours for us to receive our food which was honestly mediocre. I enjoyed the beer pretzels but even then, they made several mistakes to our food orders and drinks. We were there for a total of 3 hours. The waitress did not stop by frequently enough and when asked why the tip is automatic in quote she said "because for a party over 7 it is automatic since I bust my ass serving 3 people and they dont tip". She easily could have just said it is company policy. Honestly very unprofessional, disrespectful and several times she used vulgar commentary. She also did not bust her ass at all so I'm not sure where that came from. The manager and servers could all use some better customer service. We never received our to-go boxes either after promised they were coming for over 20 minutes. I live in the area and have been to this establishment for over 8 years. I went today with 3 of my friends and this was by far the worst experience I've had here. Initially was told what NOT to order on menu, ALSO no soda was available, and that food isn't that good bc they continuously run out of things. We came bc we thought it was under new ownership. Tacos were ok, wings DO NOT come with FRESH celery or ranch, burger is overcooked and gross. Server doesn't want to be there, drinks take forever and the water like always, taste like they grabbed it out of the reservoir and squeezed a fish in it. Yikes poor brunch experience. Sold out of almost everything. Service was mediocre. Should probably let customer know when items are sold out verses having customers order multiple times due to items being unavailable. (No waitress fault but poor communication from kitchen to up front staff) Ended up with eggs over easy which came over medium and their chicken and waffles. Chicken and waffles was sold as having a signature butter, syrup and jalapeño waffle. Well none of that was true. Not to mention the chicken was grossly over cooked. Ordered mimosas and those were excellent but way over priced. $35 for a pitcher, maybe for 4 glasses out of that. read more

I've been here several times with mixed results, but once I made the owner aware of my first sub-par experience, he made appropriate changes and things have improved greatly since! The people are great... both behind the bar and on the floor. The food is good.. it could come out faster, but as long as it's hot, I'm good. Caston & Main is nice because it's one of the only restaurants in town that isn't a pizza place or fast food. That said, if you're coming for food, it's just okay. The food was extremely expensive for what it was, and it didn't taste that great. I spent more on a salad here than I've spent on salads in San Francisco, Chicago, or NYC. I felt like I had to eat it because we spent so much, but I threw half of it away. We had a big takeout order for my family, and they missed a few things. Which is fine-- things happen. The only item I got a picture of was their pretzel, which was the best thing we ate. Staff is nice. The ambience is great for the area. Location is good. Food tastes was ok; however there was several issues. Two of our three party meals came out cold, which was a surprise as the food was served in decent time. The baked potato was small and cold. Don't even look at a menu for brunch, you MUST get the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes. Probably one of the best brunch dishes I've had, The hollandaise was PERFECTION. First time going to this place. The service we got was terrible (waiter-Brandon). Got every order at our table completely wrong, we waited an hour, we had to ask for our server to come to us as they never came back. When we finally did get our food, every plate was wrong and the food was cold! To add insult to injury to all of this was that Brandon (the server) and the manager did nothing to try to make it right. Just said, "oh sorry, and walked away." The pics of the eggs were suppose to be sunny side up. The breakfast burger (support to come with an egg) came out after she was done with eating the burger! The pancakes-were suppose to be normal pancakes came out cold with chocolate chips in them. The Breakfast Platter my dad ordered was supposed to also have sunny side eggs came out hard fried and cold. Then to top it off, one person at our table didn't even get their food because he didn't order it! Like how does all of this happen? This waiter should be fired. At the end, my sister-in-law asked for a little box for the egg they brought out after her dinner. The waiter brought a styrofoam container with the lid half torn off and (once again) just said, sorry. I usually don't like leaving scathing reviews like this and like to give businesses a chance. But, given the fact that they didn't seem to care or want to make it right, I thought it best to do this review. I will never be back and would never recommend this kind of disrespect to anyone. I went to Caston & Main Brew Yard for the first time last night (on a first date with a fella). They have a considerably long beer list and bourbon list, as well as a craft cocktails list (including a margaritas flight!), and then a monthly cocktails list. Being that it's April 2022, the monthly cocktails list had a springtime/Easter theme with drinks such as "Cottontail Martini" and "Tipsy Tulip". Their food menu has everything from soups and salads, burgers, appetizers, entrées, and desserts. It has a great atmosphere! When we first arrived, the parking lot was packed (very good sign!), but we lucked out and found a great parking space. The sit-down area looked quite full, and the waitresses were very busy, but there were a few open seats at the bar, so we plunked ourselves down there so we could be right where the action was! Our bartender was very attentive and gave us a few suggestions. We went for one of them, the giant Brew Cheese Pretzel, for the appetizer. It was delish! In fact, thinking about it makes me want to drive back there and get another! It comes with brew cheese and whole-grain honey mustard to dip. I preferred the brew cheese and I think my handsome date liked both the mustard and the cheese. We ordered two different beers to wet our palates, and we tried each other's. They were both really good! I got Great Lakes Brewery "Lake Erie Monster IPA" and he got Thirsty Dog Brewery "Irish Setter Red Ale". For dinner, even though I had been craving steak, I suddenly went vegetarian and ordered the Quesadilla (without meat). The lime crema (to dip it in) was amazing! One suggestion I would give them is to sauté the green chilis before putting them in the quesadilla, at least if it's a cheese only quesadilla. The texture of raw chilis and melted cheese wasn't as appealing as it would be if they were cooked. Perhaps with shrimp inside the quesadilla, it would be better. My date got the fish and chips and it smelled delish! I tried a bite and it was perfectly flaky and moist without compromising the integrity of the breading. Anybody who has tried to cook F & C knows that it can be hard to get the breading perfect while maintaining the moisture and flakiness of the fish. Good job, chef! We waited for quite some time before anyone came over to take pur drink order. My bf ordered a 16 oz beer and the glass was less than 8 oz! We ordered fried pickles, shrimp and grits and chicken tacos. The first 2 were awesome, tacos were ok. We had to chase the waitress down for more drinks. My 2nd margarita was in a smaller glass than the 1st and my bf had to remix it bc it was terrible. Then the bill was $94! $50 of food and $44 of drinks???? What?? We won't be back! read more

We were there this morning for brunch to celebrate two birthdays with a group of 5 people. First, the good: The food and beverages were fantastic...what they had of it (more on that in a bit). The patio space is gorgeous. Seating was comfy and overall it was a great vibe. The bad: Made the reservation online and the form asked if there were any special notes, and I noted that we were celebrating birthdays. Nobody on staff mentioned anything about it. Not that big of a deal, but played into the overall experience. Everyone at the table agreed the water tasted like it had come out of the lake nearby. Not good. Several of us ordered alcoholic beverages and we went ahead and ordered brunch at the same time. It took a very long time for the drinks to come out (15 mins+). I had also asked for lemon (in hopes of fixing the bad water) and that did not come until we were almost finished with our meal. I attempted to order one meal only to be told they did not have that item. I ordered a second meal, only for the waitress to come back about 10 minutes later and advise they didn't have that item either. I basically had to pick something I didn't really want, with no offer of a discount or anything else. The menu is not that large, so it seemed strange for them to be out of multiple things. At 55 minutes after the time we had arrived (abt 45 mins after ordering), the food for two of us was delivered from the kitchen. At 10 minutes after that, we still have not received the food for the other three people. We had a choice, whether to be rude and eat our food in front of them while they had nothing, or let our food get cold and wait until they received theirs. I went inside to speak to the manager (and ask for our lemons), and she basically stated it is what it is, they had "two people in the kitchen and 1 waitress", yet there were 4 employees standing around watching us as she and I were having this conversation. Also, they were not even that busy. The patio was not full and there were only a few tables occupied inside. In addition to this, when I mentioned that I had made a reservation, she essentially told me that wasn't possible, because that feature had been turned off weeks ago. And she wasn't sure who took my reservation over the phone. To the contrary, I made the reservation online yesterday and have an email confirmation. Her attitude was poor, to the point of barely even making eye contact. On the sole merit of the food, I'd like to give it another go, but I doubt I'll be able to convince anyone in my family to go back after our experience today. Someone in my party ordered a single mimosa afterwards and it wasn't all that much bigger than one of the flight samples, and the cost wasn't that much less than the entire flight, so you're better off ordering another flight. The two best meals were the shrimp & grits and the chicken and waffles. Both were outstanding, and will be ordered next time without even needing a menu. The Brew Yard smash burger was just okay. Nothing wrong with it, just didn't live up to the expectations the description (smash patty, chorizo, hot pepper cheese, chipotle aioli, fried onion straws). Stopped by on a recent weekend, in-between kayaking in the morning and a round of golf in the afternoon. Brunch was decent, but nothing to really write home about. I shared both a buffalo chicken-n-waffles (that had too pungent a blue cheese butter but good waffle) as well as a chicken skillet (filled with chicken, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes, scrambled eggs, provolone and hollandaise sauce) which unfortunately lacked any depth of flavors. We had a part of 7 for 6PM on a Saturday evening. we arrived on time and the host was very nice, they sat us in the main dinning room, at first it was fine. but you have a bunch of moms who haven't seen each other for a while, it may get a little loud. Are server came to great us. Not the best great i have ever had. Not sure if she knew what she was doing but asked us if we just wanted water. As we sat there for a moment, i noticed there was a bunch of children around so we decided, lets see if there is a seat in the bar so we dont disturbed the family's in here. I go asked the manager, he said yes there is a table go help your self. So we packed up are stuff an headed to the other table, Our server at the time seemed very confused and didnt understand why we were moving. We just explained to her to be respectful to the other family's it would be in the best interest if the restaurant that we would move. We went to sit down at the other table, Are server never brought us our menus, so we had to ask another server for the. we finally got our Martinis, one by one 20 mins later. They looked small, and very watery, in fact we asked for Titos and we were given rum. We informed the server about this and she just laughed and didnt do anything about it. The Service was horrible, I had to ask the bartender for Silverware, and he was not happy he had to do that, side plates and extra napkins. At the end of the 2 hour visit, we were ready to check out and the server could not be found. She finally came around and didn't have anything in order or the check, she goes and i assume you are all separate and i need to separate all the orders. This took 30 MINS. She had no idea what she was doing. She was taking so long i had to go to the bar AGAIN to ask for a to go box. I was trying to give them one last try bc we have had the same sisituauon happen before and they still failed us. I don't understand why the service is so bad and they cant get good servers in there. Dear Yelpers, Although the name may be simple, the place is EXTRAordinary. They kick off the menu with appetizers that will spoil your tastebuds and leave you wanting more! We've been multiple times and I don't think there is a bad appetizer on the menu. (Which is virtual now because, COVID) I recommend the Brew Yard Balls or the Flatbread. Both are sure to start the meal off right. I enjoyed the Brew Yard Burger and the chorizo with the house chips. Simple yet delicious! And of course, no meal is complete without a great drink selection. If you are a bourbon connoisseur, this place will make your heart sing! If not, don't worry, they have plenty for you as well! My dear friends had a wedding reception at Caston and Main this past weekend. They were assigned the back patio and the back bar. They served veggies, fruit, and cheese and cracker trays, as well as flatbreads of all kinds. Also, it was an open bar for beer and wine. I don't even know where to begin my review. This is a beautiful facility with one of the most amazing staffs I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Amanda the manager was so sweet, and kept the party moving and organized. The bartenders Jill, Jaime and Jenny kept the party going, making sure everyone always had a drink and were so personable. The food was top notch, especially the flatbreads. The kitchen staff was polite and very quick. We never had to wait for anything. I would recommend Caston and Main for any party. And I'm very excited to go back for dinner and drinks! Wings were crispy outside, tender inside, and were actually hot (temperature), not just warm, had Garlic Parmesan. Homemade chips/dip also good, but would be better warmed. Great house brew red beer.
