Update: went for wing night again just a few nights ago. A completely different experience. The wings all tasted like fish sticks. The service was subpar at best, the beer selection cut in half and 5 or so wing flavors were crossed out on the menu because they didn't offer them anymore. We won't be back. So sad to see a restaurant go down in quality so quickly.... You know I love me some cheap wings. I have been to the Firehouse location in Talmadge and had no clue there was one literally right around the corner from my house. This could be a problem every Tuesday...... wings at at Firehouse make my heart smile. What a cool little location. Set in an old building, this place is brimming with charm. Sure, it is small. But, he fantastic service makes up for the size of the building. Our server was absolutely fantastic, attentive and friendly. We sat in a really cool corner booth too! The wings were cooked perfectly and came out super fast. Parking is plentiful here was well! Just thought I'd throw that in here. Will be back for sure! read more

Have gone here my entire life and is definitely a hometown favorite. Best fish Fridays hands down. However... I haven't gone in a long while due to the sewage smell that comes from their bathroom. If you sit on the bar side it's not noticeable but I couldn't eat on the restaurant side the last two times because the odor was so bad I lost my appetite. I hope they fix it. read more

This place is amazing! The food is to die for. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING! The staff is so friendly. And the food comes out FAST,and i do mean fast! i love this place! they have a nice sized menu and a full service bar. they also have deals every day of the week so definitely look online to see what they have! they always have seasonal drinks which are very good! and one of my favorite parts is the tvs at every table so you can watch your sports game! the servers are always so nice and very accommodating. Fridays they do tend to get busy due to the all you can eat fish deal so prepare for that but it is so worth it i highly recommend!! read more

Some places are restaurants with bars, others bars with restaurants. Restaurants with bars tend to have better quality food. Bars with restaurants tend to have restaurants which serve bar quality food. Firehouse is the second of the two. One of my wife's rules for restaurants is that if it smells bad, we walk out. We walked into a restaurant which smelled like a urinal cake, but stayed. Bad choice. The Wednesday special is adult beverages half price. It seemed as if the alcohol content was also half off. WEAK! Wife and I ordered burgers. The were tiny and tasteless. Fries were limp. Sauerkraut balls were balled up sauerkraut which was breaded...nothing special. I enjoyed the nachos, the only bright spot. Probably served the worst beer ever! After being served a $5:50 Christmas ale I kept smelling a strong cinnamon smell. I then noticed cinnamon smeared inside the glass. Upon mentioning it to the bartender she tried to tell me that the glass must have brushed up against the container that held the spice.I showed her is was not on the outside and smeared,but she dispelled it and walked away. They really didn't want to replace the beer or even correct the dirty glass. Beware of the dirty glasses that they serve frozen. I fully doubt that the bartenders there even wash their hands after a poop with the level of serve I received. read more

Ordered a steak. Asked for it to be medium well. Got my steak. It was completely rare. Looked like all they did was defrost it. I wont be returning to this restaurant. The flatbread chicken ranch sandwiches were terrible and inedible. Seriously inedible! The french fries were hard and overdone, probably cooked a long time before our order. The sever was indifferent and never asked how our meal was, we decided there was a reason fot this. People probably don't have anything good to say about the food. I voiced my opinion since she didn't ask, and said I would not recommend this sandwich to anyone. She said a lot of people like it and that was all she had to say. I have had a better flatbread sadwich from a frozen Stouffers box. I feel they could care less if the food is good or not. I can sympathize with other reviewers. I ordered WET cajun wings and they came out dry. Waitress said that is how theirs are done. I said I would not have ordered them if knew they were dry and that they didn't know how to make them. Asked her to have cook toss them in some hot or mild sauce so they are WET cajun wings. They came back still dry, but in a pool of butter. She said that butter is what they are tossed in. (Not anywhere else that I have been!). She made no attempt to correct the bill and said that other customers like them. I doubt it! Seems like a future Kitchen Nightmare episode. I didn't eat ONE wing and left them on the table instead of putting in carryout container as preferred to nuke a leftover burger in my fridge instead when I got home. All of these Firehouse Grill & Pubs in Akron area are NOT the same. For proper wet cajun wings and good service, go to the East Market Street location in Akron. The place is a bit shabby, but the food and service is much better. The bar at Rootstown location is dark, dull and filled with regulars who get there 2 hours before most people leave work. If you like sitting in the dark and staring at a wall, sit in the bar. Drive 10 minutes to Kent and pick just about ANY bar and the food/service will be 5x better, plus with something more pleasant to see than a bunch of "sausages on stools". I won't be back to the Rootstown location. Will stick to only the East Market Street location from now on.. read more

I see that the reviews for this place is fairly good. I wish I would have had the same experience. The service was poor and the food wasn't edible. We stopped in tonight after a long trip and ordered their special which was a ribey e steak with a potato. We also ordered sauerkraut balls. The waitress brought our food and did not bring the sauerkraut balls. She also brought one steak knife for two steaks. When offering drink refills she wanted to refill the same glass that I had already used. Due to covid-19 I personally do not feel that this is safe. Because if I had Covid and it's on my hands and it's a push spout on the pop machine then any germs on my hand transfers to the spout. Hence the next glass, would have my germs. I would recommend that they begin using a new glass every time. We were only able to order french fries with our steak because they were out of baked potatoes and mashed potatoes. The steak was mostly gristle. I took approximately seven or eight bites of the steak after trying to cut through the gristle and did not get a bite without the gristle. I understand for the price of the steak which was $10.99 that I wasn't getting a top of the grade steak. However, I did expect it to be edible. Me and my daughter both opted to take our steaks home and fed them to our dogs. Based on this visit I would not go back again. however, if I were with people that wanted to go here I would give them a second chance. read more
