Sampler platter with a mild sausage smothered in cooked onions and peppers, a cabbage roll, and a pierogi.

This place is the definition of a hidden gem! Eat in or take out. If you eat in it has a bit of a cafeteria feel- Go to the counter, tell them what to fill your plate with. Find a seat. The counter staff are cheerful and warm. Don't door dash this one. The way this little restaurant smells is part of the experience! It closes at 2 pm, but perfect to get to go. Pick it up for dinner. The to go containers are foil pans, so it's perfect to pick up in the afternoon and heat up in the oven. Don't sleep on this one. I recommend the sampler platter with a side of the paprikash, get the cheese cake too.

Hidden gem found while visiting family in Akron and wanted some pierogis. Restaurant is connected to the market but easy to find. We had two sampler plates and the pierogi plate. It was so good and the ladies they run the place were so friendly. Can't wait to come back

This place is a true gem! I didnt think id find any authentic food in Barberton but this is it, probably the best restaurant in town! I had the lunch special which is $7.99 and is an entree with 2 sides. I had chicken paprikas and green beans, mashed potatoes. My husband had the chicken paprikas also with sauerkraut and spicy sausage (yes, the sausage could be a side!). We were so happy with our meals. The price was amazing for what you got. Portions huge and flavorful. Would definitely come back!

This is a restaurant that takes you back to a less stressfull time. Decor is a throwback to the 40's and 50's diner. It seems the price of a good lunch is too! We each got the sampler plate with different choices so we could share, bread and a drink for $17 and change. The kraut and sausage was some of the best I've ever had. The Paprikash was delicious. Stand in line to order from the delicounter. If you show up closer to 2pm they give extra size portions...but you risk the chance that they may run out of certain menu items. Everything is made fresh! If you like great Hungarian food...try Al's Corner Restaurant!

Fantastic place, always good. One sampler can feed two people. It's simple dinning at its best.

Service was friendly and the other couple seated near us were regulars and said they've never had a bad meal there. We ended up deciding to try the western omelet and a pancake with added blueberries and a biscuit on the side. After we ordered, the owner came and talked to us and said that they are famous for their eggs Benedicts and hollandaise sauce... If I'd have known that before ordering I would have tried one of those. He did bring us a little hollandaise to sample though and it was amazing! He also brought over a piece of baklava for my husband and I to try and we agreed it was the best we have ever had! Delicious and flaky and not too heavy...the owner said they make it without honey. My husband really enjoyed his omelet (it did look super fluffy and delicious) and my pancake and biscuit were good as well. They only brought out syrup packets though; I wish they had a syrup pitcher/jug but that's just personal preference. They also charged for the tap waters we ordered so that was definitely strange. Food was solid though and everyone inside was nice. I would go back and try an eggs Benedict and get some more baklava for sure! Thank you, Enchanted Cafe, for a nice Saturday morning breakfast.

I don't think much has changed as far as decor goes since changing the name. The place was mostly empty. There were a few people eating lunch. The bar tender, who was also our waitor, was very pleasant and got our drink orders right away. We each ordered a different item. I ordered the fish & chips. My coworker ordered the fish sandwich with fries and the sandwich was huge! He was very happy and said it tasted great. My other corworker ordered the mushroom & swiss burger and said it was bland but she was happy with the fries. They really loaded us up with fries. My lunch came with coleslaw which was excellent! I don't like creamy coleslaw so I was happy to see that it was the poppy seed kind with no cream. I don't expect to get fresh fish for $7 so I wasn't surprised to see that the fish in the fish & chips was diamond shaped fish filets. They tasted good! I grew up on frozen fish sticks and such so to me it was pretty good! The tartar sauce was good too! Tasted homemade but I'm not 100% certain. Overall, we had a tasty, leisurely lunch for an affordable price.

Lots of different seating options, huge booths, intimate tables, cool bar area and looked like nice outdoor patio for warmer months. Our server was SO nice and attentive, offered suggestions of her favorites from the menu. The spirit of a drink I wanted was out of stock so she suggested great alternatives. Both of our sandwiches were good and flavorful, and fries well seasoned. Good portions. Would like to try more things in the future. This is the kind of place that feels homey, like your grandma is in the kitchen and your family is all sitting around talking. If you're expecting out of this world decor and fusion food, this is not the place for you. It's cozy comfort. Our only con was that the side pickles were not good (I prefer crisp they were pretty soggy). Would definitely come back with family!

Nothing super major went wrong, but many little things added up to a not great experience…read more First, the restaurant was colder than we expected, and the bathrooms were absolutely freezing. It was a cold night (20 degrees or so), but I was surprised the restaurant it self was chilly. I'm not usually cold, so it was surprising. Second, I ordered the "Build an Entree" and chose the pork chop and broccolini as my side (it comes with two sides, but I asked for extra broccolini because of my diet). The pork chop comes out covered in this glaze that I find out is a bourbon glaze, but there are onions in it. I cannot eat onions at all (allergy), and nowhere on the menu is it listed that there is a glaze. The broccolini was cooked but was no longer warm. I mentioned these things to our server, and she said that their pork chop has always come with that glaze and it is mentioned on the menu. I asked to see a menu, and the only place the pork chop is mentioned is in this "Build an Entree" section, and no glaze/sauce is listed. The pork also looked slightly undercooked for medium, but maybe that's just me. They cleaned off the glaze and reheated everything, and the food was good. My wife had the salmon and very much enjoyed it. Finally, the check came and everything was priced 4% higher than the menu prices. When I inquired about that, they said it was because of credit card fees, and if we paid in cash, they would remove that fee. I understand the need for credit card fees, but it's not listed anywhere on the menu that they have such a fee, and the fact that it came out with such a fee built in already makes me question whether or not they reduce it unless someone asks specifically. All in all, it just wasn't the quality experience we were hoping for on a date night. I don't think we'll be back any time soon.

I have never once came to Cheers without either one or both being presentand friendly to my husband and I. The food, especially the pizza, has always been fabulous. We usually order and eat at home afterwards. Food is reasonably priced and drinks do tend to be on the higher compared to other local pubs but I find the property is much nicer, well- maintained and well- kept. Also this tends to keep out the "riff raff" and young troublemakers that like to start trouble that I prefer to not be around especially when alcohol is involved. Therefore, I dont mind paying a little extra if i can avoid these situations. I have never felt my drinks tasted "watered down." The barmaids, especially Aubrey, are always super friendly and quick to provide pleasant, accurate service. They either have a DJ or decent band, without cover charge on the weekends, a lighted dance floor and 2 nicely kept pool table areas. One review stated "owner allows people to leave drunk" (isnt that what most folks do at a bar anyway?) and i can personally attest that Steve once made sure my spouse had transportation one evening when he had a little too much drinking mad and alone alone. Never a good combination lol. This has never happened at any other establishment I've been to in 15 years I've lived here. In fact, I've requested a cab called several times locally and the barmaid looked at me like I was crazy. I believe 90% or so of folks leave a bar over legal limit. At least in my area I call home. Reference to the review posted about "drugs being used in the parking lot." I am fairly certain that ALL bars in the area have patrons that use drugs all over the entire property. I once witnessed it on the actual bar itself! I never have witnessed visible drug use there. I also have been present many nights during closing hour and witnessed bar, tables, floors and bathrooms being scrubbed meticulously with bleach. Ive been to just about every establishment in town and definitely would say this is one of, if not, THE CLEANEST in the city. The barmaids are either cleaning, serving or preparing something. I also have never witnessed the bartender drink while on duty. Never once. I like to call J.W. Cheers "my bar." I dont go out much...once a month if that, but I always visit Cheers and say hello to the folks working and the occasional regular ive spoken with once or twice before. I feel welcome at Cheers. As i mentioned previously i have been a patron at Cheers since i was once that obnoxious young kid or with accompanied by one/many, lol, since ive been a customer for over 15 years. I also live 2 blocks down the road and this is a decent, clean older neighborhood. The owners live on the same property as bar also. Well maintained space. The actual reason i visited this page is because of a post on fb i saw about "my bar." A gentleman whom is a disabled veteran with a service dog stated he was not allowed in the bar with his dog. I would first like to extend a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service for ours and my own freedom and I do not mean to offend you in anyway at all by my comment. I am just thinking that maybe the owners are not educated properly on guidelines for service animals? Especially since this is the 2nd time in our area by a locally owned and operated business. Is it possible that they just aren't aware of these laws Please dont be offended by this next statement. Again I am only trying to find some logic as to why my favorite pub would have treated you so poorly. I mean no disrespect but i did read some previous reviews of yours and some comments on fb. (where I originally read about this so your story is getting around in fact 4 of my friends shared) I noticed some swearing and could sense the anger you felt. ( I am not a saint and also swear too especially when im mad) Im just thinking that angry words might have been used between the 2 of you and it escalated quickly into a power struggle? Maybe the service dog was used as "an excuse to make you leave bc I feel stupid or angry and cant think of anything better so im going to one up you?" I cant say because I wasnt there. I am curious as to exactly what happened. I didnt hear any play by play details as to exactly what happened.
