Met a friend here for dinner before the big game. My friend suggested eating here and I'm glad she did. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. We started with the queso appetizer and I had a cider that was on tap. The cider was super delicious! The queso was good, but the chips were a little bland. My gyro philly was over the top amazing! The meat, toppings and seasonings were so good on the fresh bun. This is a huge sandwich, ended up taking a little home. I also recommend the tots as the side. By the way, the tots are really good dipped into the queso. My friend ordered the chicken philly and ended up taking some hone too. The service was good, but it took a little while for the food to come out from the kitchen. We weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a problem for us. I plan to eat here again soon so I can try their other philly sandwiches. read more

If I could give it zero stars I surely would. My boyfriend and I walked in. Monday night. We grabbed a seat at the bar. There were maybe 10 people in the place. The so-called bartender didn't even look our way. She walked in the kitchen, walked back out, continuing her conversation with her friends... still, not even a look our way. She walked BACK in the kitchen and returned again. NOTHING! We sat there 5, 6 maybe seven minutes with nothing so much as a head nod. We got up and walked out. If she would have just said hi. Made eye contact with us. But nope. Money out of her own pockets (and everyone else that works there because we will not be back)! This is a place that we have frequented for a couple years. went to the basement to eat for a 2nd time in the last week,I wasn't gonna write a review but had the same issue at the bar with the same bartender both times. This time I sat at the bar and waited but no one helped me. I waved down the young lady with long blonde hair (pretty sure her name is fate) to help me. she had a terrible attitude AGAIN and even worse service. Eventually I got my drink. but when I wanted another, I was ignored again. the bartender just stood there talking to a group of people at the bar, other workers and even played on her phone for the longest time. I had to wave another worker down who wasn't behind the bar just to get another drink. this young lady introduced herself as tesla (like the car) she did help me and even checked back on me. So a big thank you to her. the bartenders or at least the bartender that I dealt with could use more training or at the very least, should have a better attitude toward customers. read more

Not even sure how to rate this one. It has nothing to do with the food because we didn't eat. It has nothing to do with their drinks because we didn't have any. It really has to do with their service because there wasn't any. We waited for almost 15 minutes and never saw anyone aside from the bartender. At first I thought, "maybe they don't serve food anymore", but the surrounding diners killed that theory. Maybe the staff were on break. Let me start out with a rant. How much does ketchup cost? I mean seriously, most restaurants stopped marrying ketchup in the 80s. It is absolutely disgusting, the ketchup floating around on these tables is so rank the malt vinegar is jealous. Don't even risk it. I have eaten here many times, the food is above average bar food and it is reasonably priced. The service is always friendly, but if you plan to eat and want decent service, I would recommend sitting at the bar, table service usually is understaffed and neglected. Update 02/07/19 - Service is really really understaffed and slow. No notable games on, place less than 1/2 full. One beer in 45 minutes...had to eat most of my food drinking my dates water. Servers almost avoid eye contact in case you might ask for something. Will not be back anytime soon. read more

The Basement has always been the place to go watch your Tribe, Browns, and Cavs! It wasn't until lately that I started enjoying their menu as much as I do. I walked in during a Tribe playoff game and the bar tenders were still attentive. I ordered 18 Wings- their famous Hot Pants Koluger double grilled wings. We live out of state and while in town, we met our friends here. The service was terrible. We had a group of 9. We all ordered food. It took an hour to get the food, and they forgot our order. I was disappointed because we had heard how great the burnt cheese folds were. Our server was leaving, so we cashed our tab out. The food we never received was on the bill. She did remove it, but we never received an apology for her error. The new server was horrible. I ordered Gray Goose, but she gave me well vodka. I told her of the mistake and she just said, ok. Again, no apology. We were all dressed casual as this is a casual spot. We watched as they turned black people away for dressing the same as us. They told them it was dress up night. Nobody in that bar, including the staff, was dressed up. We were shocked. We would not return to this establishment. We will try the one on Waterloo as I hear the staff is much better. read more

I came here the other night with my girlfriend, for a couple of drinks and to play darts and catch up. First off, I wasn't even greeted by a bartender right away, the two bartenders on staff was a blonde girl with shorter hair and a brunette with long hair who was wearing a jersey type shirt. Mind you, I had been sitting there for a few minutes and there was maybe 5-10 people sitting at the bar at this point. I was then greeted by a server, Victoria who was super friendly and nice, and who also had to take my drink order, and then pass it on to the said bartender on staff. Which was no biggy, honestly she was great! My friend and I both got a liquid marijuana, which I had first asked if they knew how to make correctly, because not everyone knows how to make them and we would have both gotten something else if they weren't able to make them correctly, but the bartender said she could, so we went ahead and ordered them. Let me tell you, I have had some awful drinks in my life but that has probably topped them all off, it was the most disgusting drink I have ever tasted. I had my card waiting for the bartender, and my friend had cash. The brunette dropped off our drinks and ignored both of our payments and walked away without a single word. I had waited around at the bar to see if I could get a different drink or if she could remake them, she completely ignored us, and then the blonde who was ending her shift I believe came rushing through and I blurted out and asked for the darts, and then she dropped them off and zoomed past me before I could even ask about the drinks. When I say these drinks were awful, I mean absolutely disgusting. At this point I had probably sat at the bar for 7-10 minutes and was completely irritated, so I picked up my card and went to the dart boards with my friend where we chatted. I went back up to the bar and mind you the bar was super slow it was a Thursday night, and it took her 2-5 minutes to get to me. No biggy, I ordered a Malibu and Coke. This girl then looks at me and says, you have a tab right? First off, No. Because a tab is to be opened with a debit card, not just an open tab. So I said, I'm not sure but I'm paying for this drink in cash now. And I tipped her $1 because the drink was okay but she was kinda slow making it to me. I went back to the dart board and conversated with my friend. She was so irritated with her drink she only had one. We went back up to the counter and asked about the first drinks we had ordered and explained nothing was ever spoken to us, even though she was the bartender and she knows that. And then we paid 6$ for that awful drink. No, I did not tip for this drink & neither did my friend. This drink was not made correctly, and there was absolutely no conversating done, and she couldn't even take my debit card. Who was to say I had only wanted that one drink? Or that I wanted to pay for that drink and go about my night. Regardless, she had a friend or a coworker who is sitting at the end of the bar, who then basically yells, "TIP YOUR BARTENDER" and the bartender then laughs, the girl says "oops did I say that out loud?" I then turn around completely irritated with my already bad service and said maybe she would have if her drink was made correctly, and I did tip for the one drink that was made correctly. I come here quite often with friends to get drinks, and I come and get food, and I honestly doubt that I will ever be back. I thought about reaching out to management but if they hire such awful staff then I'm not even sure if it is worth it. read more

So, we live in the area, and usually our go to spot is the Basement at the Lakes, and when we get a chance with our busy schedules, that where we end up at. We were on March 2nd in the evening/night hours. We decided to sit by the exit but changed our minds and moved over to the bar when seats became available and it didn't take long about five to ten minutes after we came into the bar. There was a waiter that greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink, after he brought the drinks we moved over to the bar. After that we had our 1st round of drinks and were ready to get a second round, it literally took at least ten minutes for someone to ask us if we needed anything else, which of course we needed another round of drinks and we were ready to order food as well. After we ordered the food took forever to come out, about twenty minutes went by and it was still not ready, a manager came out to tell us that supposedly their fryer shut down in the middle of cooking . So we finally got our food and we wanted to order another round of drinks before we decided to go home and that again took forever. None of the waiters acknowledge us in a nice way, there were two females and two males working, one of them was a manager and at some point when I asked a question he seemed irritated by it. They were rude and unfriendly, they didn't seem to care much about offering service to us, but sure did offer it to all the other patrons there that night. Why? I have no idea, but I sure did feel very unwelcome and unwanted there. The waiters even made conversations with certain people, but managed to forget us, even though all we wanted just a simple order of food as drinks. Oh and yes, the one female that works there, acts as if she owns the place, decided to turn the channel to something else, when we had asked about twenty minutes before to watch a specific game on a specific channel. Terrible night for us and for them I imagine. They were ether understaffed or something, but regardless we will not come back again. It saddens me as we use to love to come there! read more

First of all I always go the basement on Waterloo. Amazing food , service and the staff is wonderful I never had any problems until I walked into this place. We had to go get a waitress because no one cared to come serve me and my friends. After we had to ask for the menus that a waitress is suppose to bring to you no one would come take our order. After 30 min one of my friends decided to get the waitress and she came to take our orders (we also never got drinks by the way we had to walk up to the bar anytime we wanted a refill or drink) WE HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR FOR OUR FOOD. The place was fairly empty for it being Sunday football but there were 6 of us at the table so I was giving them some slack until they brought out everyone's food but my boyfriends who had to wait an extra 20 min for his fucking nachos to be brought out (idk about y'all but nachos is the most easiest thing to possibly prepare a horse could do it). On top of all of this the waitress was extremely rude and wouldn't bring me a to go box , water or napkins I had to ask several times. I was extremely disappointed & I will stick to the Waterloo location. ALSO ONE LAST THING- tell all your waitresses if they want to get tipped tell them to have manners read more

Poor service. Visited several times most bar tenders are usually have a piss poor attitude, but not all. I also watched the owner/manager have a casual conversation with the bar tenders and ignore my wife and I. After 15 minutes waiting to be greeted we finally walked out. Most recent after finishing my beer the blonde bar tender (one with the biggest attitude) never asked if i wanted another. This is the forth time in 6 months when we order a Togo order it isn't ready, ( at least a 2 hr prior order ) it's never ready or its wrong. I love this place when we go there, but there Togo ordering is pathetic. I've decided to eliminate your establishment overall. The Waterloo Rd location is just as bad. You really need a over hall of management at both locations. My opinion would be to shut both down and start over. I have a lot of friends that fell the same way. We stopped here while we were in the area because heard it was a great place. It definitely is has a sports bar feel. The food was great!! We had sandwiches and wings. Everything was very good! I didn't like that we had a few different servers. One would ask if we need anything and a minute later another would. Then recently I go and order a drink and it did not taste right and the color was very light, not dark as it should be. The only thing I could think of is it was watered down. FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR FOOD POISIONING BE THIER GUEST. My husband and I hardly ever get a couple hours to ourselves with 5 kids, needless to say never again will this be the spot we go. Simple order of chicken quesadilla (no onion or green peppers) and potato skins with shredded pork, only asking if the bbq sauce was spicy. that was it. nothing fancy in fact we ordered water to drink. This was not a busy night and even if the server who was only seen a few times in deep conversation with friends made it herself, would never imagine waiting 45 min for 2 appetizers. First came out was the quesadilla smelled the onions before even looking. peppers would have been tolerated, however asked to have it with Neither. the next to come out 5 min after sending back the 1st was completely wrong. I asked just incase I didn't know the difference between bacon and shredded pork. the server actually took fault with this one., asked for ranch before I got my quesadilla so she didn't have to make a extra trip. So 15 min later it came no ranch, but wasn't about to say anything, because then it would just seem like I was being to demanding. I'm not the type to run a server, and I am a firm believer in tipping well, I was a server, however when u take the lid off of sour cream it should not smell like rotten milk. it was soooo bad I lost my appetite. I really feel this was deliberately done. as if I was being one of those guests that expect high quality service from a fast food joint. no just bar food from a bar. My tolerance was gone, I kept my cool and had figured after us being there 2 hours waiting for our appetizers that both had to be sent back, and a attempted food poisoning, something would have been compt. No apology, no manager, no discounted bill. I asked to speak to a manager after our lovely server said have a great night!!!!
