Really surprised by the rating and some of the reviews here. My wife and I stopped by Cheers this afternoon for dinner and had a great experience. The cheese curds were excellent. My wife ordered the lettuce wraps, and I had the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Everything we had was 5 out of 5 stars. Met a friend for an early dinner on 4/16 she had the cheesesteak, I chose the chicken cilantro lime bowl. Food arrived quickly, however one look at entree's I knew I was wrong for suggesting this place. Presentation was lacking, portions were small, flavor ... nonexistent. 90% of the bowl was white rice topped with a tsp of corn, blackbeans,1/2 tsp of chopped tomato, less than a 1/4 cup of chopped chicken, sliver of avocado and a sprig of cilantro. Dressing spicy good but no lime. I asked for more cilantro, but what I should have done is send it back. I asked for more soda and waitress brought back water. The food is excellent here. Many gluten free options! The lettuce wraps were very fresh. The lettuce was crispy. The chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly for lettuce wraps. The sauce was delicious too. Also had the cauliflower appetizer. So good! Cheers is a great place to meet up with friends and share appetizers. Our server checked on us frequently. the bartender did bring me my food when ready, though she was alot more interested in talking to her friend next to me than engaging with the clients. someone called her Carolina. She made it clear she was leaving in an hour and trying to make evening plans. The reason for the 2 stars versus one is the fries are really good. The burger has absolutely no flavor what so ever-- even with alot of toppings. SKIP their burgers even if the toppings sound good. I've had veggie burgers with more flavor. Food tasted so bad your using your drink to force it down. Never had food that horrible. Took what we couldn't eat (we hate waste) most of our dinner home gave to our dog. He let it sit in bowl over night and didn't eat it. Threw away this morning. Also bartender was sick and working now we are under the whether today. Not sure if we are truly sick yet. Everything was BURNT. The burgers. The buns. The pierogies smelled like vomit but also had no salt. The "cucumber salad" is huge chunks of veggies and some pink dressing came with it. Does not seem like the correct dressing. Pretzel was a frozen one from a box microwaved too long it was tough and stiff. I wouldn't recommend this place. I ordered the soup and salad and the salad was great, but the soup was barely above room temp so I asked the bartender if she could just have them heat it up a bit. When it can back, 5 minutes or so later, it smelled burnt and it was so hot, it was like they (chef or bartender, not sure who) wanted to punish me for asking for warm soup - I stirred out the heat for several minutes, blew on a spoonful and still badly burnt my mouth. I've recently moved to the neighborhood and I have to say that The Town Tavern at 3900 Medina Rd., Akron, OH, 44333 is quintessentially the dopest, most heartfelt, feel-good establishment in all of Summit County. I give them an A all-around. The staff is awesome, the food is awesome, the vibe is great, the clientele is great, and there are really no bars in a good 20 mile radius that even comes close to the charm emanating from this place. A rare find. A New York City quality establishment that we are truly jackpot-level lucky to have in the area. Watch Richie when it's slammed, dude is a maestro. The place is a run down $&@() hole. I've lived in the New Castle area my whole life and had high hopes that this place would be great. Not so. The music is the typical, so loud your ears bleed. The food is frozen food straight into the fryer with no flair for actual food preparation. Most of all the staff is rude and the whole environment just plain scary. read more

Went here to hang out with my cousins after dinner and was immediately excited when we found Uno cards on the table. What better fun than drinks, Uno and music. The atmosphere was very relaxed. Music playing, TVs on and people having a great time. We ordered drinks and played uno for hours. However, I ordered an Amoretto sour and had to send it back because it was way TOO strong and didnt taste like the usual drink that I get. She took it back and made it a tall and added more sour and it still didnt taste good so I canceled the entire drink. My other family members ordered drinks and one other also had to send hers back because it was too strong as well! After that we barely received service for the remaining time that we were there, however, the Uno games were so intense that we hardley notice. Bartenders were rude. I know I'm older (50s ) but treat me like I'm welcome please. Us older are able to tip well at least!. I went outside for a business call and the person next to me said they would let the bartenders know I would be back shortly. The person next to me guaranteed they did exactly that and yet drinks gone when I came back in. They said nothing when asked about this ( with person who told them I'd be back). This is a very cool little bar/restaurant. I like the way it is decorated. The waiters are friendly and there is music playing with a touch tunes machine making it fun. I ordered the frenchie burger and asked them to sub the burger for a veggie patty. I am taking a star off because when the burger came out it was completely plain with no toppings. Then I had to wait another 10-15 minutes for them to remake the whole thing (not sure why they didn't just bring out the toppings on a separate plate). However the waitress was very apologetic and nice about it and even took the burger off of my bill. And when it did finally come out it tasted great!! read more

Had gone here for carry out several times because they run a 1/2 price burger on Monday. So placed an pick up order today and they tell me $45 for the order on the phone and when I get there they tell me it is $63 because 1/2 price burgers are only dine in. I ask them then why have I been charged 1/2 price every other time I have been here and why today was I told $45 over the phone and now you are trying to charge me $63. The waitress asks if I would like to talk to the manager and I say sure, she goes to get her but comes back and says she couldn't find her. The place isn't that big for her not to be able to be found. So I pay, leave and then call back when I get home and ask for the manager, she comes on and proceeds to tell me she could hear me being mean to her waitress, I never raised my voice, just kept asking why was I quoted $45 and now charged $63. The manager then told me the waitress never came to get her, so either the waitress was lying or the manager was. I then ask here if that is there policy that 1/2 price burgers are only dine in why was I quoted $45 and then charged a higher price for someone mistake and she told me it was my fault. With these kind of employees will never be back. There are too many places close by that have great food and good customer service. Go somewhere else, you will be glad you did. On top of that of the 4 cheeseburgers somehow they forgot to put cheese on the 2 towne tavern burgers, so horrible service and they can't make the food right and all the tater tots for all 5 orders were cold. read more

I've been here several times. A few times to eat lunch and a few times to just get a drink. The last time i had lunch i had a turkey club with fries. My few complaints were that the turkey seemed to be lunch meat you would buy from the grocery store (not the deli) but like the already boxed up turkey. The cheese tasted like processed cheese. it wasn't too my liking but i am very particular. beer selection is decent. they had a summer shandy on tap. french fries were really good...food was hot and the waitress was very nice. it can be a fun place to go to on the weekends. it appears a lot of locals come out to david b's. they have a dj on the weekends, as well. read more
