    Pretzel Appetizer

On the way home from Hocking Hills we decided to try this place out in Bolivar. It's a nice little spot not to far off of Rt 77. The inside isn't overly large, but they do have a pretty big outside area as well. FYI there is a nice little area for purchasing t-shirts and various other Lockport items. Anyway, my cubano was good, albeit not as large of a sandwich as I would have liked. The pretzel appetizer was very good (loved the cheese). These breweries are always so loud inside for some reason, but other than that the vibes were good. We started with one server and for some reason we wound up with another, but both were friendly and attentive. I don't usually frequent Bolivar for eating, but I'd eat here again.

Lockport Brewery is a decent stop for good craft beer. I've been to their original location down the road. This new (ish) location is tucked right up against the golf course and has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. They closed up the patio and brought in heaters, which is where my group sat on Thursday night. It was decently busy but not packed, which was more than fine by me! The drinks never disappoint. I had both the Pale Ale and IPAs brewed in house. Lockport beer is always delicious! The food is nothing to rave about. I had the "Pizzanini" as shown in the photo. My group split the buffalo cauliflower. None of it was bad, but it all felt like something I could have easily made at home without much thought. Their focus is obviously not directed at their food, but you'd expect just a pinch more with a full menu being available. I felt the same way about the service - not bad by any means, but not overtly quick or friendly. We often had to wave our server down to order additional drinks. The wait time for our food was probably around 25-30 minutes. All in all, you will likely have a good time at Lockport, especially if you focus on keeping the drinks coming!

Great stop for lunch and unique beer!! I got the cheeseburger and their rosemary aoli fries are the best. You need to get them!! Has some cute decor around the bar too! Great spot to watch a game!

Lockport is a great small brewery. It's one of the few fun things going on around it. They have a good variety on tap. It also has a small food menu. They often have weekly events like trivia. It's located in the town of Bolivar. It's an area with a large Amish population. The brewery is right off of Interstate 77, so it's not hard to get to. It looks like the building is pretty new. They are not a big place, meaning it may get real crowded at times. I had the Fort Laurens Amber. It's about $5 for a pint. This is an amber lager style. It's smooth and not bitter. They have some food too. I had the basket of pretzels. It's about $3 for a basket. This comes with homemade mustard. It's another unexpectedly good small brewery. It has good variety in their brews. The food is good too.

Visited this brewery on the advice of a local and she wasn't wrong. They have great beer here and at a good location with an outdoor deck overlooking a golf course. Be aware when you google this place it's to their old location. Bolivar is small enough to where you will easily find the new location pretty much across the street. They have a great selection of tasty craft beer and a good menu selection as well. We had the pretzel and beer cheese which was a great late evening snack. Service was slow at first but steadily picked up as we ordered more drinks, ironically.

Great new brewery, with a patio on the golf course, ability to see the brewing area and now food! They have relocated from their first location to a remodeled restaurant down the street on the golf course. Big area for bar seating, tables, and lots of windows. They had a wide variety of choices from red ales and porters to IPAs. Although they are still working out the bugs, the staff is friendly the beer is cold and the crowd is very diverse. Hipsters, AvgJoes, and several young at hearts. It is chill but fun. A few TVs, but doesnt dominate the atmosphere. Everything here is brewery - even the restrooms are decorated with kegs. Great stop for a warm up, cool down, or primary stop for the night. Give it a try.

Lunch special. Grilled cheese and tomato soup.

This is a fabulous place to relax and grab a drink or a bit. I stopped in on my lunch hour and they were fast and the customer service was unparalleled. But no need to hurry here. The atmosphere is a great place to relax and socialize for hours. It provides an upscale feel and taste without the sticker price. I would highly recommend anyone to try them out!!

Beer was good but the burger I ordered medium came out well done and tasted like a thick mcdonald frozen patty. Fries were great though!

Love the friendly staff and the vibe. Food is great although I'd like a couple more gluten free / dairy free options.

Thumbs up on the food, thumbs sideways on their beer. They have a nice outside area for corn hole and darts.

Can we bring our 12 yrs old son here?

We've been there often and at times there were babies and children up to at least 10 years old. This was before COVID19. It always seemed family oriented. We've never been there late evening on the weekends, so I can't speak for that time of the… Read more

A Hidden Gem Brewing with Heart and Hops in Toledo, OH…read more We were about 30 minutes southwest of Toledo on April 5, 2025, when we decided to check out a local brewery we'd heard great things about--and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like longtime friends. I had the pleasure of chatting with Lisa Bauman, who owns the brewery with her husband, Mike. Both are proud Toledo natives. Mike, a retired police officer and military veteran, has been brewing beer for over 30 years--and it shows. What started as a dream became reality in July 2023 when they opened the brewery after completely transforming what used to be a dentist's office (yep, you'd never guess!). They bought the building in 2021 and spent years renovating, building on, and navigating the complicated web of licensing. Lisa mentioned the TTB was manageable, but Ohio's state licensing was a different story. Still, their passion, grit, and commitment carried them through, and the result is a beautiful space pouring even better beer. Now let's talk about the beer--because WOW. We kicked things off with a sampler and were seriously impressed: River Rat IPA (6%) - A juicy hazy IPA brewed with locally grown malt, Zythos and Azacca hops. It's got citrus and tropical notes, but with a softer, smoother body than your typical hazy. Super drinkable and fresh. Red "Knight" Ale (6.75%) - This red ale has a great depth of flavor. Notes of caramel and raisin from a mix of malts (some local) make it rich without being too heavy. Balanced and satisfying. Happy Pillzzzzzzz (6.69%) - An Imperial Pilsner that lives up to its clever name. It's a classic German-style pils with a crisper profile, slight sweetness, and smooth malt finish. Dangerously easy to sip. Meg B's Blue Light Special (5.5%) - A blueberry ale that completely surprised me. I'm not usually into fruity beers, but this one was smooth, not overly sweet, and incredibly well done. A total standout in its category. Then came the big winner: I was planning on getting a glass of the hazy, but Lisa offered a taste of their Scottish ale, and--damn. It blew me away. Tipsy Kilt (7.75%) - A Scottish-style "wee heavy" ale that instantly became my favorite of the night. It's rich, malty, with just the right amount of sweetness, brewed with English malts and hops. The name is as perfect as the pour. This brewery is the real deal--from the quality of the beer to the story behind it. Lisa and Mike have created something truly special here. It's not just about hops and barley--it's about community, dedication, and a whole lot of heart. If you're anywhere near Toledo, make the trip. This place deserves to be on your beer bucket list. Cheers to the Baumans and everything they've built--can't wait to come back!

Every table was taken as were most seats at the bar. Someone was hosting a birthday party and had pizza brought in from an outside establishment. The beer menu was expansive and included a few seltzers. The consensus from the group was that these are heavy hitters! The ABV seems low because after a couple, you're definitely feeling it. The staff were friendly. You really get the small town feel here, as most of the bar staff knew the patrons on a personal level. The bathroom was clean and I loved the Christmas decor they had up! Prices were fair for the quality and alcohol content. They also have flights of 4 5-oz pours for $10.
