Beautiful falls. Enjoyed our experience. Brat n tot truck has the best brats on a stick!

This brewery is so beautiful, unique, and tasty that I struggle to believe it is in western PA. I have been here during every season- spring summer fall winter- and every time it's stunning. The view is gorgeous. The tap room is cozy and serves great beer. There's lots of space for kids outside. The staff is always friendly. I know it's a bit outside of the city but I can't recommend this stop enough.

I was blown away by the setting of this brewery. The Cobblehaus team won the lottery when they secured this beautiful space in nature to open up a taproom. It's not every day you can enjoy a drink in the woods, overlooking a flowing waterfall, but here you can. There are so many little nooks throughout the outdoor space with tables and chairs, games, fire pits, all placed along a winding nature trail with twinkling lights lighting the way. Whether you just want to relax in nature or have fun with friends, there's a space for everyone. The building itself is also gorgeous with huge windows overlooking the waterfall and outdoor space below. They've placed lights at the base of the waterfall so you can still enjoy the view at night. I'm not a huge beer drinker but I do love my Germans and Belgians, which are the star here. I think their beer is solid. They also have seltzers and wine. Inside they've partnered with Gerbe Glass, whose beautiful glass art decorates the space and is available for purchase. Last but not least we really enjoyed the "brats and tots" food truck-- a German x American fusion truck that seems to frequent the brewery. Perfect pairing with their beer. I love this place but I'm also sad it's an hour from Pittsburgh. Looks like we'll be going on more day trips to have an excuse to stop here!

Totally worth the drive! So beautiful, great selections of beer. The waterfalls are easy to walk down too. Lots of seating spaces around the property. No food from the brewery but they had a German food truck on site and it was perfect. We drove from Buffalo and it was worth every mile. We will definitely be back next fall.

So happy to finally check out this fairly new brewery, perfectly nestled beside the woods with a majestic waterfall. The inside area is cozy with windows overlooking the falls. Even thought it was quite cold we grabbed beers in the building the ventured down to see the falls . It was beautiful and we will come back in the warmer weather to enjoy beers and the waterfall. Beer selection was a good variety . Hubby had ipa and brown ale . I enjoyed the blonde and lager.

There was no food offered when we went. There seems to be a food truck with a "coming soon" sign at the entrance. You do have to order your drinks at the bar, but the lady tending bar when we went was absolutely amazing. She took her time with any samples we might want and clearly explained their other options, such as local distillery offerings. They have comfortable couches to sit by the fireplace, and the view of the falls was absolutely stunning. Such a lovely way to unwind. They also have several family games available to play while you drink. Can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer, bring friends, and sit in the outdoor areas!

We stopped here on our back from Clarion. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The options were good- my friend loved his beer. But the view and set up they had to admire the view was my favorite part. It was so relaxing. They also have trivia on Thursday with dj trivia. And the owners wife has beautiful glass pieces for sale. And the taps are also her work. Would reccommend.

What a beautiful brewery! Overlooking a picturesque waterfall with plenty of windows to look out from inside or seating both above and below the falls, this is a great place to enjoy a cold beer and the outdoors. We did a flight of 4 beers:they had sours, ipa and lagers. We weren't super crazy about our drinks (maybe European beers just aren't our style) but the ambiance can't be beat. Would definitely go back!

What a hidden gem! The location is beautiful and the decor is eclectic in that they used the cases from the original jewelry store. When we arrived, we were quickly helped by the bartender, but it quickly filled!!! There was only one bartender pulling beers and ringing people out. Based on the long line, at least 2 bartenders were needed. They don't serve food, but do have food trucks. Beer is ok, and can be ordered on flights of 4.

I would have never known this place existed off the beaten path, but just a couple miles down the road from the Grove City Outlets. The view is spectacular from the wall of windows in the bar. There is a fireplace with cushioned chair seating & many bar stool areas which used to be jewelry cases when this was a jewelry store. Also low & high top tables. So pretty unique. I visited for the first time around 2pm on a Saturday when it was sunny but the temp was 40 degrees. There is a steep gravel path (with hand ropes) down to Leesburg Falls where there are picnic tables & Adirondack chairs, corn hole and a fire pit. If you like beer & nature this place is stunning!!! In summer it will be slammed. There is additional parking by the big yellow house. I had the Chasing Charlie chocolate milk stout 4.5% and it was delicious. This is NOT a restaurant but it looks like they do some food trucks. They also have seltzer & some mixed drinks most likely PA spirits. It's absolutely worth a look if you love beer & the outdoors!! Wear sneakers or sturdy outdoor shoes if your plan is to go down to the falls...and you'll get your exercise on the way back up!

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH 10/10!…read more Perfection. Everything about Talbots is absolute perfection. I eat A LOT of food, and one common denominator I see among top-tier restaurants is that the owners and management are a direct reflection of the overall experience, quality, and taste. Talbots is no different. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, like lifetime friends. Our waitress, Teresa, was fantastic. She passed all the vibe checks and matched our energy immediately, all the signs of a veteran server you want guiding you through one of the best eating experiences of your life. She gave us her recommendations and left us to decide. We knew we were here for the #hashtagyouwont 36oz ribeyes, but we wanted to see what else was recommended since everything looked and sounded amazing. We decided to order a lot of food, almost everything that was recommended. This will be a bit of a long-winded review, but I'm sure the true foodies will appreciate it, so here we go: THE APPETIZERS The Brie: How can brie be so good that it deserves to be talked about first? I have no idea, but it was excellent. The strawberry-jalapeño jam, brie, candied pecans, baby naan, and fruit just worked so well together. An absolute hit. Pork Cheek Tacos: These melted in your mouth and exploded with flavor. They were also a really decent size, we were expecting little bite-sized tacos on a dumpling wrapper, but got two substantial tacos instead which was a pleasant surprise. Naan Bombs: Flat out delicious, and there were enough in the serving for everyone to have a few. Duck Wontons: So unique and flavorful. These were like little empanada explosions of flavor. THE MAIN EVENT: THE 36OZ RIBEYE When I tell you this was a perfect steak, this was a perfect steak. Cooked medium rare, oozing with flavor, and charred to absolute perfection on the outside. That is no easy feat with a cut this size, but somehow Talbot and crew made it seem like a walk in the park. Hidden under the steak, soaking up all the juices, are the house cut fries. I forgot they were even there because of the sheer size of the meat! By the time I discovered them, they were soaked with steak juice, but somehow remained crispy and soggy at the same time. It was brilliant, the fries almost had a poutine like aspect to them. Magnificent, completely unique, and made so much sense. As for the side of corn salad.... absolutely mind blowing. It just looked like corn with some sauce on it, nothing special at all. I am so sorry I underestimated you, Mr. Corn Salad. My God, this stuff was amazing. It didn't make sense to me, but I didn't care, I just kept shoveling it into my mouth. DESSERT We saved room for dessert (of course) and got three: The Chocolate Cake: A plate of pure, chocolaty goodness. Pecan Sweet Potato Pie: Spectacular. Coconut Cream Cheesecake: Wow. I am a sucker for coconut and cream cheese anything, and this checked every single box. THE VERDICT Throughout the night, we watched Talbot go up to each table to check in on everyone, and the chef even came out to talk to us. It was an absolute perfect meal top to bottom, start to finish. You can tell how much this entire establishment cares about what they do, and it is a direct reflection on the food. It's not often I can say a meal is flawless, so I have to give them their flowers in a long well deserved review. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a standing ovation for Talbots Taproom. P.s. Extra kudos for all the cool art and overall atmosphere. There is a ton of stuff to do outside as well but we were there on a chilly night so remained inside. We saw a patio, disc golf, and all sorts of other activities, even a tree house. We can't wait to make the hour trip again and enjoy all they have to offer once summer is in full swing!

Steak was well seasoned and cooked properly. I had the Asian BBQ, Nobody Likes a Party Pooper. Everything tasted pretty good but was all cool. NOTHING came out hot. Our server was Dustin (or Justin, we weren't sure) who was terrific (ask for him to wait on you, if you can!) I had the Italian Panini which was so yummy! Also the side dish of loaded mashed potatoes with gravy ..... They were just okay. It was quite a cold night, so 3 of us had nice hot cups of tea served in these quaint handmade mugs! And I had a glass of homemade root beer ..... ya can't go wrong! The prices are reasonable: my tea, root beer, and Italian Panini were $25. I think very moderate. Reservations are highly recommended. My hubby, who is an IPA enthusiast, was crazy over many of the IPAs, while I loved seeing a perfectly done Kolch on the menu, in addition to a great Pils and some darker favorites too. On a Wednesday evening in July, my fiance and I found ourselves in the Cranberry area. We found…read morethis place and decided to give it a try, as we had never been before. It is also a non-chain establishment, which is a plus in this area. Recon Brewing is located within the Meeder neighborhood of Cranberry. It almost feels like you are in the wrong spot when initially entering, but eventually you stumble upon the "town square" area with a big lawn, several storefronts, and lots of sidewalks, which make it very easy to walk to. Since this is quite literally in the middle of a neighborhood, there is not a dedicated parking lot. However, there are spaces on the street around the entire area where all of the storefronts are. We had no issue finding a spot on this particular night, but I could see it being slightly more challenging if there is a big crowd eating here. We arrived here a little after 7:30, and it was not busy. Our dog was with us, so we opted for seats on the patio. The wait staff came to greet us right away, and were attentive to us throughout the entire evening. Since this is a brewery, we started off with a few beers. I had To Live & Rye, which is a red/amber rye. I appreciated this as an option, as a lot of places do not carry reds or red-adjacents, especially on tap. I enjoyed it, and it was a great sipper throughout the evening. My fiance ordered the Sour Series - Plum. He thought it was okay, but could have been more sour. Since they brew a lot of their own selections, these seem to rotate and switch out pretty frequently, which is a good way to be able to try lots of different brews. For an appetizer, we split the Cheese Curds. The portion, for the price, is okay. They were tasty, and I liked how you could choose whatever dipping sauce you wanted. We chose ranch, and thought it paired well with the curds. We both ordered 10" Personal Size Pizzas for our entrees, which are cut into 6 pieces. I opted for the Hot Honey, which was more of a white-style pizza with chicken on top and drizzled generously with hot honey. My fiance ordered the Peppers & Sausage, which had red pepper, banana pepper, and chunky pieces of sausage. Both had nice flavors, but we were not particularly wow-ed by either pie. The portion was solid for a personal serving, but if there are multiple people in your party, I would order multiple pizzas. Our total bill came out to be just under $50. I do not think this is unreasonable given that we got 2 beers, an appetizer, and two entrees. I think that in terms of overall value, this is very standard compared to similar restaurants and breweries. I loved the ambiance of Recon! If we lived closer to Cranberry, I could see myself coming here weekly, especially when the weather is warm. The patio lights make it such a cozy and warm atmosphere at night. It was not operating during our visit, but there was also a fire pit. There was a ton of seating here overall - both indoors and out. This would be a great spot to meet a large group of people, or just for a night out for two. There is even bar seating on the interior. I can see this being a great spot for the neighborhood to walk to and enjoy often. In terms of activity, there seems to be a lot going on at Recon. Though not anything specifically during our visit, there was a chalkboard advertising their regular events - DJ Trivia every Tuesday, Karaoke every other Thursday, as well as special events - a Comedy Show, Patio Party with music and vendors, and DJ Bingo. I would love to return for an event in the future! Lastly, I love how nice they were to our dog. He got a giant bowl of water with ice in it! The staff and patrons were friendly and welcoming to both us and him, which is a big plus when we bring him along on outings. There was even a donation box inside benefiting the Butler County Humane Society, so I know the treatment of my dog was not an off-chance occurrence. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to Recon Brewing at Meeder! This truly is the perfect spot to be able to walk to and socialize with neighbors, grab dinner or a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance that they provide. Plus, there are plenty of events and fun activities that seem to be happening regularly to keep patrons coming back. The staff were all kind, and we enjoyed our food and drinks. I look forward to another chance to be able to enjoy Recon, hopefully partaking in one of their many events.
