Hello we went to Mentor Ohio location yesterday March 13 for my son's birthday. I ordered create your own platter my husband had a bowl and my son had Cajun pasta. I ordered crab legs which were tiny and overcooked, yet cold. Overcooked crab legs stick to the shell and fall apart. The shrimp scampie I did a double order. When our waitress brought out my plate I noticed that they have brought out the breaded shrimp. She asked is everything okay and I said no I'm supposed to have scampi and not the breaded shrimp. She said oh I go get the right shrimp. 5 minutes later she comes back wearing black rubber gloves and as I'm cutting some of my meal reaches onto my plate and grabs the breaded shrimp. I was stunned by this! You reached into a plate of food I was actively eating I couldn't even speak. I'm sure someone told her to do this. Serenity was a nice waitress but the behavior was over the top A good 5)10 mins later the Scampi came out. At this moment I'm furious over the entire situation. I'm not even sure that passes health code standards. Awful experience and honestly what we spent on the seafood and service is disappointing read more

I called the Red Lobster in Mentor for a call ahead reservation for a party of five. When I got there signs were posted on the door stating only taking parties of 4 or less. When I walked in the hostess told me my reservation was ignored because we had a party of five. Instead of calling me they waited until we drove out there. I told her I was calling the corporate office. She told me to go right ahead she wouldn't seat us. I did call corporate and spoke to Tammy who informed me a Director of operations would contact me. No one ever contacted me, over a week later. Thank goodness Mentor has so many other great restaurants, that have great food and staff. Good luck to anyone who schedule's a reservation. read more

When I recently visited Red Lobster, with my family, we experienced THE WORST service ever. Our orders were incomplete, when they were bought out to the table. The Servers were unsure, and mixed up, as to who was suppose to actually wait on our table, when we were first seated. We asked for drink refills, several times and never received them. Also, I asked our server to bring me a Crab Cracker--several times-- so I could open my Crab Legs, but he NEVER did!!! I ended up taking the Crab Legs home, because I could not crack them open due to NOT HAVING the proper utensil!!! Additionally, they had a lot of MAJOR renovations going on at that property--so it should not have even been open for business, until the renovations were completed. Furthermore, the lighting above the tables was dark and dreary. And the TVs that were above the Bar area were not working. read more

Well, we decided to give red lobster another go since they split from darden. I was kind of shocked how messy the floor was when we went in but someone came out and swept it. We ordered iced teas. Fiancée got aim and I ordered peach. The first glass was very flavorful but the refill was weak. We got crab artichoke lobster dip for an appetizer and it was tasty. I got the broiled trio for dinner, my fiancée got the coconut shrimp. Both entrees were ok. I must mention our server Jenna. She was sweet and attentive without being intrusive. Very nice young lady. We were too full for dessert so nothing to review read more

Good RL, good service, good food, and fast, Eddie was a very good waiter, we were a table of eight with four kids and he handled it very well, two thumbs up Eddie! read more

Sat relatively quickly. Got drinks relatively quickly. Even got an app relatively quickly....without silverware. Then it went downhill. Our drinks were NEVER refilled. Took us 45 minutes to get our entrees (and our utensils for the appetizer......which means we ate cold apps with our entree). Our airhead waitress didn't do a damn thing for us. She was hanging out at the hostess area yucking it up with the other young girls...no doubt talking about how dumb all these customers are. The busboy was loud and obnoxious and I watched him clean the table next to us by taking his arm and pulling everything toward him across the table. No solvent, no rag....... Whoever manages this place can suck it. read more

Waitress was very pleasant. Food was mediocre. Rest of staff was very unprofessional. Watched a hostess try to seat a party and the waitress whose section it was in told him not to seat them there because she was too busy. Kitchen staff and wait staff loitered by the register near our booth and Nigga this and Nigga that was all that came out of their mouths. read more

The hostess ruined our visit. She worked hard to seat the two parties that arrived just moments before me, as quickly as possible. She then told me and the couple who came in behind me (both parties of 2) it was going to be a 20 minut wait. 10 minutes later a party of 5 came in and was immediately helped. The folks helped immediately were white, and the folks not helped were black. Totally ruined my appetite. read more

Really nice ambience and the food was great too. Stuffed mushrooms, shrimp alfredo and the chocolate stuffed cookie were my favorite. Service was excellent too. read more

I am going to keep this brief and to the point. I tend to write more about experiences that I like. Look Red Lobster is a National chain (almost enough said) The prices are really high for the food quantity first and quality second. So on this visit went with friend and daughter. The daughter ordered Coconut shrimp. They were butterflied so they LOOK huge but paper thin (Not kidding anyone). Secondly TONS of breading and super sweet. Friend ordered steak and shrimp skewer. Shrimp never came and the steak was 1/8th inch think and dry. I ordered TWO orders of tacos. One with Lobster and one with Shrimp. There are only three tocos to an order at 14.00 (that is a lot for three soft shell toco's. Well twenty minutes after I ordered they informed me that they were out of taco shells. So.... I did not technically have dinner. I had my bowl of clam chowder tastes like cream, no real taste of clam 10 bucks. Also we had an appetizer; a lobster pizza. It is what it is really. The thin crust was kinda tasty. The cubes of tomato and fresh basil had a nice flavor with the sprinkling of cheese. I saw little flakes of what looked like crawdad's on the pizza I guess that was lobster? Anyway no hint of lobster flavor; even remotely. Tasted the tomato however and they were pretty good. I also noticed that snow crab was 20.00 per half pound. Snow crab shell is heavy so a pound of snow crab is really more like 4oz meat if you are lucky. There is an all you can eat crab place down the street (30.00 all you can eat). See my reviews of bumpers. Looking at the menu I can tell you they are experts at making a little LOOK like a lot. Rather than relying on the flavor of the fish they drench many of their dishes in some kind of sauce, or cheese. I guess it is not my thing. I absolutly LOVE crab and crab needs nothing more than maybe a little butter. read more

I've always been a fan of decent seafood on a budget, but after my last visit I'm certain that Red Lobster just doesn't fit the bill. The environment is off-putting from the beginning -- tables are placed so close together that there's little sense of privacy, even from other diners, and the walking areas are often clogged with traffic jams of patrons and servers. Fortunately, our server was incredibly nice and attentive to our needs. The quality of the food generally hasn't changed in years (that is to say, it'll do), but prices have risen while portion sizes have shrunk, and there is no longer any real value. The premium lobster bisque is $5 for a cup that isn't even full; salads now come on a long rectangular plate to disguise the fact that they're at least 1/3 smaller than before; lobster tails look as if they were cut from little baby lobsters; and the side dishes are simply insulting. No more Red Lobster for us. For the amount of money we spent on a meal for two, we'll find a real seafood restaurant that isn't afraid to give us more bang for our buck. read more

I've always avoided Red Lobster only because I think when it comes to seafood, I'd much rather spend the extra couple minutes on Yelp searching my options and spend that little extra on food that, if not fresh, can make you instantly ill. Now I never got sick at a Red Lobster and will go back once Discover Card sends me more $10 coupons, but until that happens, sorry Red Plopster, I will be passing. This location seems dark and gloomy, with out dated decor and slow service at the bar (based on 3 separate trips). One highlight that is worth mentioning is their Lobster Nachos, I do love those things. If you get the calamari, expect a huge platter of veggies too, kind of a mess, not very good presentation. They do have a lobster machine so you know that's fresh. Anyway, go to Red Lobster if you want seafood on a budget. Otherwise, take a scenic drive to Pickle Bills or look online for a local restaurant serving similar dishes, you'll be surprised on what you find. read more

We ordered to go and already arrived later then our due time. We had to still wait another 15-20 minutes for our meal to be done. Whats the point of ordering ahead of time? Employees were nice though, especially up front. read more

I know what to expect from a Red Lobster, having eaten in quite a few before. For the most part, this one lived up to that expectation. Delicious cheddar bay biscuits, decent drinks, and ton's of affordable seafood. What brought them down to 2 stars then? Fruit Flies. After killing 3 between the two of us, we saw numbers 4 and 5 (at least) buzzing around. Frigging disgusting. Eat here at your own risk. read more

We came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and the restaurant was next to empty. Our food was mediocre at best and the service jaw-droppingly bad. We had to ask for basic things like silverware and bread. Some other items like lemons, which should have garnished the seafood entrees, we had to ask for several times. The server didn't know to clear our dishes--so when there was no room to set down our dessert--she literally just handed it to us. Later, she mixed up our check with that of another table. When the manager came out in an apron to help, she appeared at the table drinking a soda. She was definitely a sweet girl who had not been trained to wait tables. As we were leaving, the manager and server exchanged an off-color joke about anal sex in earshot of everyone. This was once a nice restaurant, so sad to see it like this. read more

It wasn't busy when my boyfriend and I went out to dinner on a Saturday night. (Surprisingly) but we waited a long time for our food, while other patrons who came before us got served. My food was good, however boyfriend ordered shrimp scampi and it was just butterfly shrimp in a garlic butter and not the actual dish. He also ordered lobster mashed potatoes, which weren't hot. The server was friendly, but the overall food and service was subpar. I guess it's gone down hill in recent years. read more

While on a business trip, we decided to have dinner at this Red Lobster. Leah was our server and she was great. Her eagerness and personality made up for the bad mojito. She recommend good food to order. We didn't have to wait to long for the food and the food came out hot and tasting great. Leah was the highlight. Her customer service and personality is a true asset to the restaurant. Since I know management reads these reviews, please give her a Pat on the back. Everything was great, and she was the all-star that put it together. read more

Its was horrible our food was over cooked the server was terrible I had to get my own silverware. My muscles were burnt like a chip then they brought us out next door that wasn't even editable and the server told us it was a bad day for lobster. We eat at Red Lobster very often and have a good experience. This time we were there at 4:30pm and were seated immediately. The sever was prompt and friendly. My appetizer, clam chowder, was excellent as always. But, when my main course arrived it looked as though they were running out of shrimp and shorted my plate. In addition my baked potato was so cold the butter wouldn't melt. When I asked the sever about these concerns he dismissed me like I was bothering him. This was the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant and would not return if there were another within driving distance. Very disappointed. read more

Red Lobster - Breaded shrimp and popcorn shrimp. Pick 2 meal. Potato was so cold it would not melt the butter. - Seafood Near Me - Mentor, Ohio

Had the ultimate feast. It was anything but ultimate. First of all, the messed up the order. Then the lobster was rubbery, and the crab legs were ice cold. Worst Red Lobster experience ever. If you wanna have good seafood, don't stop here. read more

I mean... mostly Red Lobsters are what they are. I will say that when I compare this to other Red Lobsters it is def a 4, but if you are expecting a fine seafood restaurant it is more of a 3. So, I will say I dont like seafood. I will eat fried fish and scallops, but otherwise it just isnt my cup of tea. My husband though loves seafood. We had giftcards from Christmas and figured we would try Mentor since the Orange one was hilariously awful. So, there were many big parties so they told us 15-20 min, but were seated in less than 5. The hostess was actually friendly. We got a server who was also friendly. She seemed extremely busy and had a large party, but she tried her best to be attentive. I am a fan of the 3 course meal, where I got the Chicken Alfredo. I didnt think they explained you get a half order, but i honestly think it is more than enough food. My husband got some lobster feast type meal. He did eat all of it and said it was good. I also enjoyed the brownie dessert even those the brownie was a little rich (I think there can be too much chocolate, so it is a personal preference). The one thing that was annoying is they have you pay on these electronic things and our was dead. It just slowed things down. read more

I went to red lobster yesterday with my bestfriend, the food was so good and hot just how I like it. The server yesterday morning was a little rude, the restaurant could of gotten 5 stars out of me, but what deducted points from me was her attitude. My friend was on a important phone call, and she was rushing him to order. She didn't even say "excuse me" While he was on the phone. I understand she was trying to get his order but she could of word her question about ordering better. She could of said it in a better tone. Then her body language was speaking like she really didn't wanna be there. But other than that she was a fast server but a fast server is not always a good server. read more

Red Lobstet is a excellent restaurant for seafood. The service is good and I would recommend this resturant to my friends

Upon entering the restaurant , the hostess was running her fingers through her hair , she sat us and presented dirty menus (greasy fingerprints all over and pages that were sticking together). I ordered the rock lobster tail , after a lengthy time our food arrived , the lobster was tough , and had a poor gritty texture . It was overcooked . Manager David argued with me while listening to my concerns , took the lobster , came back to the table to assure me that he inspected and tried the lobster , he said it was not overcooked and that I don't know lobster and should not order rock lobster in the future , he proceeded to add that the muscles that were not open is OK to eat " they are precooked and come in frozen and offered to take them back and open them. Stacie was a great server , very attentive and apologetic . read more

Totally the worst experience for ordering a delivery I have ever experienced!ordered 3 dinners and Door Dash delivered. Only problem, one dinner was missing. Called Red Lobster and I was told the 3rd dinner wasn't prepared in time for Door Dash to bring to me?! They have it sitting there if I want to come pick it up? Huh? Why do you think I had it delivered? So I asked for a credit. Told I could only have a gift card no credit. I asked to speak to the manager VALERIE. VALERIE said since we ordered through Door Dash we don't get a credit, only a gift card. Why don't they tell you if you have it delivered and there is a mistake you don't get your money back. I became upset and told her I didn't want a gift card, I wanted my credit card to be credited. She said nope, don't do it that way. By now I was irate and told her I would dispute the charge and she said (laughing) Go ahead! Then she said Byeeeeee. So totally unprofessional I was blown away. I will be telling all my friends and posting this review every where I go. You need a new Manager with a healthy respect for customer service. Byeeeee. read more

This location is very rude, the quality of food is poor and the customer service is nonexistent. They do not care about the person who is ordering the food all they care about is making money. It takes 10-15 mins to get someone on the phone and when they do answer the line they are unhelpful and try to rush you off the line. The management is a joke and they seem to be only preoccupied with the diners and not the phone/online people ordering who are just as important as anyone else. They will NEVER get my business again. read more

Service is terrible, I don't know how Red Lobster can let this place slide. Others are good. Not this location. After waiting for 20 minutes at our table. I had to go to the front desk to ask for the bread. When my meal arrived, the mashed potatoes that I had ordered, were not with my order. The potatoes arrived when I was almost finished with my meal. I ask for the check because I didn't want to have to wait long periods of time for anything more. When the check arrived, I looked it over and realized that the check was for another table, not mine. Again I had to wait for my check. Don't go to this location unless you plan on spending the day there. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a Tuesday night at 8:30 pm. They told us the wait would be at least 15 minutes... Just looking in we saw 6 dirty tables and the whole 22 minutes they made us wait no one cleaned any of the tables. It's always such mixed reviews when I come here. The last two times I have been in the service has been less than stellar but today it was absolutely incompetent with a pick up order. I went inside after 35 minutes, and they said it was ready 15 minutes ago. I get that new years is a busy night, but that is not normal. read more

We will never go back! Should have been a clue that we were seated immediately on a Saturday night that many people feel this way!! Started off with the server not listening to what we were ordering. They removed the flounder for some cheap white fish that is horrible. Fish should not be tough and unchewable!! When we told the server he told the manager (who btw never came out) said since half was eaten they couldn't do anything about it. We told him to tell the manager we won't be back then. We can get a better fish dinner (and cheaper) at the Market Street Family Restaurant!! Ordered a bake potato with butter then had to wait for the butter to come when the potato was getting cold. 2 of the three shrimp dishes on one plate were lukewarm. My chicken (yes I know it's a seafood restaurant) was so tough the steak knife was barely cutting it. read more

I don't know why, perhaps it was the lure of fuel perks for getting the gift card to eat here, but we decided to give this place another shot. It was Saturday evening and it was busy, but not overly crowded. We used call ahead seating, but really didn't need to. There were plenty seats available. The place was messy inside, but they were working on cleaning soon after we were seated. It was about 7:30 in the evening but there were still a lot of families with kids so kind of noisy. We ordered the artichoke, crab, lobster dip for an appetizer and it was flavorful. I ordered coconut shrimp for dinner and my fiancée got the broiled trio with tilapia, crab stuffed shrimp and garlic shrimp. We both ordered the lobster mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. No room for dessert. As a nice touch, our server Jenna gave us a couple iced teas for the road. She is a terrific server, very nice, friendly and provided good service. read more
