Delicious Holiday Menu choices
Rory S.

Tired of tearing off the lid of a yogurt cup for breakfast? Head over to First Watch in University Heights for a menu full of scrumptious choices. I met a friend for a brunch time "treat ourselves" and came away satisfied and full. Added to the regular menu, we were handed a Holiday Menu with sweet options for the season. I was intrigued and quickly chose the Cinnamon Chip Pancake Breakfast. 5 Star Yums. My friend picked the Triathlon, featuring an egg white omelet and lots of fruit. What a perfect place for a mid-morning sit down.

Enjoyed coming here for breakfast. It does tend to get busy with a long wait time, so come early or be prepared to wait. The service was quick. The food was good. They had many options for omelets and skillets. Their special's menu seemed like it changes often. I have to ding them down for a holiday cinnamon roll that was clearly reheated and was tough to eat. Maybe some of the other items would have been better.

We came here on a Saturday and it was a bit busy. They were able to seat us right away, and despite being busy we were helped very quickly by our amazing server (I think her name was Lisa). I had the salmon frittata and it was so delicious! I also loved the bread on the side and the potatoes. We both ordered coffees and were given a big pitcher of coffee to refill which was nice. The restaurant is pretty standard with lots of seating. Overall we enjoyed our experience here!

Great and quick service (also friendly). My brother and I came in a couple weeks ago and had a really lovely brunch ! The food didn't take long to come out and it all was delicious - first watch is consistent in their quality ! I got a great waffle with a green tea mango lemonade and my brother got the Italian sausage omelette. The ambiance was lively and cozy, a great combination!

I had an amazing GF DF TURKEY burger. Excellent service. My husband had a delicious chopped chicken salad. The food looked so good that we started eating and didn't get a photo!! Next time!

I've been here twice recently and each time it has been excellent. An unassuming location tucked by Whole Foods and the dollar tree. The menu is extensive for brunch. There are so many veggie options, and the ingredients feel so fresh. I like this more than many heavily publicized local brunch places. Service is fast. Definitely recommend.

Perfect for a quick breakfast, brunch or a family friendly meal. They have so many great menu options to satisfy any craving. Their seasonal menu will also feature new menu items that are always delicious and flavorful. Service is always great, the ambiance is great, welcoming and inviting and I always have a great meal every time I dine. They recently added alcoholic beverages to their menu also!!

For brunch, my go to is the biscuits and gravy. The gravy has a good heat to it and the biscuits are flaky and buttery. For lunch, the buddha bowl and chicken & avocado sandwich are both elevated classics. My husband raves about the fish sandwich - and the salad that comes as a side is anything but simple. When you enter, you'll order with the cashier and then find a seat with your number. Typical counter service - but what makes Northstar special is that the interior feels more like fine dining and the food is much much better than your standard fare. Worth a trip for its own merits, the fact that it's located in a nice shopping area is also a draw, especially for a weekend when you want to have a leisurely stroll.

You enter and order at the counter and then get a table. We were not planning on desserts but while ordering our food, they got fresh cookies and we had to order two. It was definitely the best decision of the day. Portions are good here and dishes are well prepared with perfect combination of textures and tastes. I especially loved the sweet potato hash. Frittata was good too. We also had hot chocolate and hot apple cider... Perfect for the cold January morning. Overall we liked this place and highly recommend it.

This time, I brought my family along for lunch, and it did not disappoint! We took advantage of their happy hour specials, which included half-off pizzas, select appetizers, and drinks. We started with the Street Corn Nachos and added grilled chicken. They were absolutely incredible--easily some of the best nachos we've ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was delicious. We also ordered the whipped feta, which was simply divine and a must-try. For our entrées, one person ordered the pepperoni pizza and really enjoyed it. I had the sausage pasta, which was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light while still being incredibly satisfying. The third entrée was the Thai noodles , and it was another hit. Everyone commented on how fresh and well-prepared their meal was. The service, as always, was impeccable. We were greeted immediately and seated right away. What really stands out about this restaurant is the teamwork. Everyone pitches in, whether it's bringing out food, clearing plates, or noticing your water glass is getting low. It doesn't matter if they're your server or not--they make sure you're taken care of, and that level of hospitality really makes a difference. The restaurant is also spotless, and I love that the open kitchen allows you to watch the team preparing the food. It adds to the overall experience and shows how much care goes into every dish. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or happy hour, this place consistently delivers. Great food, outstanding service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a beautiful space make this one of my favorite restaurants in the Cleveland area. If you're visiting the Pinecrest area, do yourself a favor and make this a stop--you won't regret it!

That fried chicken took us all the way back. We're old school, and that's exactly how fried chicken is supposed to taste--perfectly seasoned, incredibly flavorful, juicy on the inside, and fried to a golden, crispy crunch. It was absolutely phenomenal. The waffles were just as impressive--light, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with an amazing texture. Every bite was on point. The experience was so good that I knew I had to bring my husband back because he's a huge chicken and waffles fan. It was his first time there, and without fail, he had the exact same reaction. From the first bite, he was sold. He absolutely loved it. When a restaurant delivers that kind of quality to an entire group and then exceeds expectations again on a return visit, you know it's the real deal. From the food to the service, it was an easy 5-star experience. We'll definitely be back!

Figured we'd give Tommy's a shot, not knowing it's this long-standing institution with a devoted fan base. That fandom is deserved. Brightly lit, clean, friendly staff. We were seated immediately. Really interesting menu with a lot of vegetarian and eclectic choices. $5 basket of fries was wayyyy big and some of the best fries I've ever had - a nice crispness on the outside, while fluffy inside. Wife's spinach pie with muenster cheese ($11.85) was flaky and generous with the fillings. Loved my $3 phosphate. My DC falafel sandwich ($14) - with sesame seeds, cheese, sprouts and tomatoes - was crazy big and the falafel was perfectly cooked, with a nice crunch. Our server Kelsey was really personable. To my surprise there was a Restaurant in a glass atrium and gave me vibes of being back in Orange County, CA or LA. We had reservations at 11:30 am. and arrived at 11:15 am. We were asked to wait. There seemed to be a lot of employees walking around and many tables were open but seemingly still had to wait. So 15 minutes later we were taken to our table. The air conditioning was definitely on point so bring a jacket. Our server warmly welcomed us and wished me well for Father's Day. Shockingly the restaurant didn't do anything special for fathers as a complimentary gesture. The server took our drink orders and waters came within minutes and after that everything went into "SLOW MODE". My daughter's Cesar salad came in about 20 minutes from the order. Our main entrees came out (1) Hour after the salad and my lamb chops and potatoes were warm at best. The flavor for the lamb-chops were wonderful but the potatoes were very salty. I would skip on the green beans as they had no flavor and only topped with kosher salt. My wife enjoyed her breakfast plate and the sausages were HUGE. The pancakes seemed to be the big hit. They were sharply thin and had amazing vanilla flavor on their own and were wonderful without maple syrup. They didn't last long as my daughter devoured my wife's portion. My daughter liked her truffle fries but had some challenges with the Steak Sandwich as her jaws were hurting after eating the first half. The type of roll used is very chewy and unfamiliar as we are originally from Philadelphia. (I know, bad decision) but she had her choice. No sweet treats for us. The ambiance is amazing but I would say that we would return. The food was fine except for my temperature but our issue was predominantly the wait time. Happy Father's Day
