I had an amazing chicken sandwich. I definitely would go back. It's a little bit pricey, but the macaroni and cheese is amazing.

Warning: I'm not sure if they've fixed their system/website yet, but the opening hours listed are wrong. Their website allows you to order online for pickup/delivery past their opening hours, "confirms" that your order's been placed, but since the restaurant is closed, your food won't actually be made... They do provide refunds the next day though! My boyfriend and I still decided to give their food a try despite the order mishap, and I'm really glad we did. The chicken sandwiches are expensive, but have HUGE portions and are very tasty! I love the Korean Fried Chicken sandwich and their mac and cheese, which has an amazing consistency and taste (although it's expensive for portion size). First time here! I was greeted immediately with a smile and a hello. There are so many eateries in this area. Today I decided to try food I hadn't had before. I pulled up the Chicken Ranch menu online and decided I would try them. It is a small establishment. Tables were clean. There is seating inside and two small tables outside for diners. The manager was explaining they make everything fresh and offered to answer any questions I had. I took a look at the specials then decided on a two piece crispy tenders meal. It came with a jalapeño corn muffin. It was 10 dollars and I chose a chocolate chip cookie with caramel and pecans in it because, why not. My chicken was delicious. I chose hot honey sauce because I was curious. It was so spicy and cleaned my sinuses right up. The sauce came on the side, thank goodness for that. The muffin was OK. It would have been better warmed. The cookie: sooooo good. Because I was being nice, I gave my kid a piece, but next time I will eat it in the car before I get home, like the pros do. read more

While I nearly had a heart attack at the $16 price for just the sandwich, when it came out, hot and ready, 10 minutes later, I suddenly understood the high price! I'm so glad I stopped in. I tried something new and I liked it. It was the Cleveland hot chicken sandwich. Similar to the Nashville hot but Cleveland style. If you don't know, Cleveland is known for its ginormous sandwiches. I was not let down with this one. It was beyond a normal chicken sandwich with all of the fixings and flavors one could ask for. The service was fast and friendly. I was not sure what to order so the cashier gave me a few suggestions and I appreciated that. The menu was pretty inviting to try everything to a hungry soul. Brownie is more like cake than a brownie. Cookies are caramel chocolate pecan and super thin yet super caramelly and sweet. The vanilla bean sweet potatoes were fantastic. Not too sweet but definitely sweet. Tender chunks throughout the creamy mix and a bit of vanilla or honey flavor in there too. The corn cake was not dry but just sort of there. Tiger shrimp was tail-on and had great spice without much heat which I appreciate. The mac n cheese was delicious! Great flavor, little bit of chili powder for heat, super duper creamy and cheesy. I've been here twice now - I've gotten the tenders and the Nashville sandwich. The batter is super. There's no dispute there. I mean, the food itself is solid. Yet something is holding me back from recommending this joint at a high level. Maybe it's that the chicken is, in parts, chewy. You expect your teeth to sink right through the chicken when you bite into it, but instead sometimes you find that you've hooked a chunk of the chicken and pulled it out of the batter. I think the great flavor masks the quality of the chicken breast, which isn't at all bad - you just don't get the texturally perfect experience that other restaurants that specialize in fried chicken products often manage to deliver. But also, the price. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is $14. That's high to begin with. But consider the actual price you'll be paying depending on how you deal with the tip screen, 15/20/25% default choices, employee still standing at the register waiting, your food yet to be prepared. This practice, while obviously no longer unusual, is not present when you buy a $4.99 no-less-delicious chicken sandwich at the Popeye's less than a mile away. True, the sandwich here is bigger, but not 3x. This is a small place set up mainly for take-out, but it has a few tables that you can bring your food to and eat if you want. I like dingy little restaurants intended for the masses, but the masses - at least, in the future, this mass - are going to be priced out. read more

The only thing that was underwhelming to me was Mac and cheese, fine but nothing special for the price. everything else was so amazing it was a surprise lunch hit. Solid new addition to University Heights! I'm generally not a fan of food in this area, but Chicken Ranch impressed me. We came specifically to try the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, but also ended up ordering the Cleveland Hot Chicken Sandwich with a side of jalapeño corn cake. Chicken is tender and juicy with crispy but not-too-greasy breading served on brioche with a light and vinegary coleslaw. These sandwiches are massive, with super generous chicken and slaw portions. Sauce selection is comprised of a whopping 16 different flavors, which always gets bonus points from me at chicken shops :D We tried four: comeback sauce and chili mayo (on the Nashville Hot and Cleveland Hot, respectively) plus 2 extra sides of Black Garlic Toum and Maple Tahini Yogurt. I personally liked all of them, but heads up that the maple is ridiculously sweet and probs too much for most people. Our only complaint was that both of the "hot" sandwiches had just barely the slightest hint of spice. Both the Nashville Hot (rated 5/5 on their scale) and Cleveland Hot (4/5) had absolutely zero kick and would've more appropriately been rated 0/5 and 1/5 imo because neither the accompanying sauces nor the hot oil rub were spicy whatsoever. Honestly even Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich packs way more of a punch than this! Personally I'm not much of a cornbread person but loved the flavorful jalapeño honey butter spread that our sides came with, though I wished this had been actually spicy as well. Really wanted to round this place up from 4.5 stars bc the food was quite enjoyable but unfortunately spice level was disappointing. I realize that they don't exactly specialize in hot chicken here but when I order an item labeled "Nashville Hot" with 5/5 flames on the menu, I expect to feel at least a little bit of heat. Would still recommend checking this place out though for the tasty chicken and fun sauces! read more

LOVIN' this place! Now that Chicken Ranch has expanded their hours, we were able to visit and boy was this enjoyable!! The Tenders were huge! Crunchy and meaty. The bleu cheese and buttermilk dips were both fresh and tasty. Nice chunks of bleu with that expected tang. Nothing is better than creamy Buttermilk dip on fried chicken. It was also wonderful on the shrimp, a nice addition to the menu. My wife enjoyed the crispy buttermilk chicken sandwich, claiming only she thought there was a bit too much salt. The White Cheddar Mac & Cheese was good, my wife liking it more than me. If you've been to Lox, Stock &Brisket in the same spot, you'll feel at home. Very cute little place with great service. We had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. They were huge but a bit oily and the batter kept coming off the chicken so I was not a fan. We also had the tenders which were well seasoned and delicious however when I go out to dinner, it's not for chicken tenders. That said, the Roasted Tiger Shrimp were absolutely divine and completely unexpected at a chicken restaurant! I'd definitely return for those. read more

Saw this place on New Day Cleveland. And we're driving and literally decided to stop and get dinner when we saw it. You can't eat in. They have room but looks like Covid shut down that. Tables are all blocked off. So you can only do take out. Menu is large. They have a sandwich board up with specials. And the regular menu is over the counter. They have tenders, all types of sandwiches, and more entree items and side dishes. There is a lot on the menu, plus desserts and lots of drink options. We went for the special cleveland hot dog. Hot dog with pickles, a homemade slaw, and french fries. I was going to get chicken but couldn't decide. The cost of the dog was $10. It was really delicious. Honestly. The dog was grilled and split. Bun was toasted and good. Filled with pickles and slaw, and a ton of fries. They have a hot sauce too that comes with but we opted out of that. I would get it again. It's a fork though. I couldn't pick it up and eat it without making a mess and not really eating it. We also ordered extra, large fries to splits the fries are good. Crinkle cut with a seasoning on them. You get more than enough to share in the large. Crispy but since it's take out they were a bit cold by the time we ate them. Still ok though. And we did get a banana cannoli too. That was amazingly delicious! Very light and creamy. It's located in a strip plaza on Cedar. By Warrenssville. Closer to Dunkin than Whole Foods. Right in the middle of all food choices. Parking is 1 way so you have to enter and exit correctly. Enter next to Dunkin side. The menu is pretty large. Lots of choices. The prices are on the high side, I thought. 3 chicken tenders are like $8. Not sure how big those are and they don't come with anything. 5 are like $12. They have a million homemade sauces that look very intriguing to try. Sandwiches are in the $10 range and more and they don't come with anything. Everything is all carte. Sides are $4 and higher. I am a combo girl. I like ordering something and for $3 more you get a drink and fries. Not here. I know the cost of good fresh cooked food is costly. And this is that. But then this is a once in a while place not a once a week place. Our dinner with 2 dogs, fries, and cannoli that we split and it was $31. No drinks. So it's like a sit down. It was good but again on some budgets not a 1x a week place. Staff was nice and helpful. We asked about the sides. Sides are very unique and sound good. They were working hard behind the scenes. Chicken Ranch has THE best hot chicken sandwich & fried chicken in Cleveland and is the sultan of sauces. I had Chicken Ranch saved as a place to check out for months. I was doing some Christmas shopping at Macy's nearby when I decided to finally give it a shot and my only disappointment was not going to Chicken Ranch sooner. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy, juicy and flavorful. We got a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, 3 tenders, Mac n cheese, jalapeño corn bread, and a bunch of sauces (Cleveland Hot, Comeback, Honey Mustard, Black Garlic). The sauces were all banging. I would watched off a shoe as Guy Fiery would say. The sandwich was a giant spicy bite of deliciousness, hands down the best I have had in Cleveland. And, I couldn't get enough of the white cheddar mac. They also serve canned beer which was a pleasant surprise. The Bell's Two Hearted paired really well with the spicy chicken. Can't say enough good things about Chicken Ranch! After trying their chicken sandwiches and jalapeño corn cakes just once, I'm eager to return for more. I got their Cleveland Hot Sandwich while my friend got their Korean Fried Chicken. First thing to note: the portions are VERY large. Each sandwich (I believe) has a whole fried chicken thigh which is perfectly crisped and seasoned- pictures don't do it justice. Though both were spicy chicken sandwiches, they had distinct sauces and toppings that made them unique. The large size of the chicken, in addition to the generous toppings, made the bread soggy and it was difficult to eat with my hands. But overall, very delicious. We also ordered the jalapeño corn cakes, which came with a spiced butter. Wow. Both the Cleveland and Nashville chicken sandwiches were more like giant, crispy, succulent pieces of chicken barely being restrained by their buns; I love the chicken-to-bread ratio here! There's a good amount of tangy slaw and pickles so that the oiliness of the chicken isn't too overbearing. Ok full disclosure I have only had takeout from Chicken Ranch so far but I will update this review when I return for dine in sometime because I will most definitely be returning. This was hands down the best fried chicken sandwich I've had in Cleveland, especially impressive considering I didn't eat for 20+ minutes after picking it up! The sandwich had a huuuuge piece of chicken on it, so crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I got the classic crispy chicken sandwich, but friends have gotten the Nashville and Korean sandwiches and said they were also excellent. Highly recommend getting a side of honey mustard, and the Mac and cheese was although deliciously rich and creamy. Plus, it is well priced for the amount of food you get! The staff was clearly busting a** to knock it out quickly. Unfortunately, the food was not as great as I thought. My son ordered chicken and waffles. Although he liked the waffle (what kid doesn't?) the tenders did not have much flavor. This was true of the Cleveland Chicken I ordered as well. The portions were huge and the chicken looked like it would be great but it was just flavorless. The sandwich had so much sauce on it that, not only did I feel like I needed a shower immediately after, but it all became one monotonous flavorless mess.
