I was told good things about this place. My family and I went for lunch on a Sunday. I made reservations so we were sat timely. The issue was our waiter. He rushed us through ordering, was impatient when we asked for extra items (napkins, sauces, etc.) and rushed us to pay the bill. My cousin is a regular and was also shocked by the service. Heck's Cafe is truly a staple when it comes to brunch--you literally can't go wrong here. The menu has such a great variety, so there's something for everyone no matter what you're in the mood for. The food was really good, especially the home fries and sausage links--both were cooked perfectly and super satisfying. The French toast was a standout for me though. It was so flavorful and honestly tasted like a warm cinnamon roll... sooo good. Our waiter, Sarah, was really nice and gave some great recommendations, which made the experience even better. Conveniently located off of Chagrin Boulevard and Richmond RD. The evening was a Holiday gathering with friends. Our server Olivia was pleasant and helpful. The bar and restaurant were nicely decorated for the holidays. Five of us were putting a half booth. It was a tad cramped so we asked for a chair that we put on the end. Olivia was very helpful in moving a chair. This worked much better. I had the Merry Berry Cocktail which was like a margarita with cranberry and Rosemary. It came in a little bottle that you poured yourself. It was good, but could have had more flavor. It was a bit bland. For dinner, I had the Miso Gkazed Salmon over bok choy with sweet potato medallions. It had a cashew crunch dusting on top. It was good, but nothing special. Again, on the bland side. Very fantastic service and very solid food in a fun nicer spot in Beachwood! The Caesar salad was really good, I got a half portion with chicken and it was plenty for dinner for me. We also had brussel sprouts as a table which are very tasty and crispy. I think the fries need the truffle aioli or the other accoutrements, they're not great on their own but with the aiolis and toppings they are good! Our server was very friendly and accommodating and we felt like we were being taken care of. However, for a Monday evening, it was busier than expected and the speed of everything was extra slow. I had to remind and repeat some requests and questions for the server. Menu was straightforward and appealing. My burger was delicious and fries were crisp. The appetizer portions were on the small side. I wasn't impressed with their desserts. They were very pricey but the descriptions didn't match the content. The blondie sundae we ordered was overly dense, not particularly good and not really a blondie brownie. The chocolate flourless cake was also way too thick and sweet. On Monday January 19, 2026 I had a 12pm reservation. A young lady name starts with an "A" called me at 10:34am and notified me that they had no power but should be up and running by 12:30pm and was wondering if I could push my reservation till then. I stated yes, she stated that if anything changes she would give me a call. I called the other person in my party and we agreed to the 12:30pm time. I never heard back from the employee so I assumed they were open for business. At 12:34pm I pulled up to find a note on the door stating they had no power. It was really bad outside so I understand just wish the employee would have kept her word and called me back and saved me the 30 minute ride in the snow and cold. I've eaten at Heck's several times this past year. Yesterday our family decided to meet and have dinner at the Beachwood location. Our server took some time to greet us to get a drink order. After that she was attentive and provided us with a good experience. When at Heck's you get a burger or at least I do. I've tried several other different offerings and while they're not bad, they're not memorable either. There's only so much you can do with a burger. However, how you season and prepare it makes all the difference. Their restaurant was very dark and from what I could see fairly well decorated. Lots of greenery not for sure if it was real plants or not. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't a great one either there was nothing that would make me want to come back again. We had a mixed experience last night. The location is very nice with a casual atmosphere. We were seated quickly, and our server promptly took our drink order. I had a delicious bacon Bloody Mary. We ordered appetizers--roasted eggplant spread and calamari--which were both tasty and sized for sharing. For our entrees, I had the Beachwood burger, and my wife ordered the salmon burger without tomatoes. The food arrived quickly. My burger looked great, but my wife's had tomatoes on it despite her request. She informed the server, who took it back and returned two minutes later with the same burger, now without tomatoes. Since my wife is allergic to raw tomatoes, she asked for it to be remade. They complied and remade the burger. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium, but the meat lacked seasoning, which was disappointing for an $18 burger. Also my fries were supposed to be rosemary, but I didn't taste any. My wife enjoyed her salmon burger but noted that the seasoning was only on the outside of the patty. It might have been an off night for the kitchen, so I'll give it another try, but for now, it's a 3-star experience at best. We went here for a family dinner. While it was nice to spend time with family, I don't have to return. This place was just okay. Nothing over the top, just your typical restaurant. The place is nice, with a wide open floor plan. They have an upstairs, but I needed the opportunity to see what was up there. The one thing that did catch my attention was the floor. It was slippery, like it was covered in oil. I wonder if that was from the cleaner they were using or if the floors had an oily film from the back and forth from the kitchen. Our server was pretty cool, but he was working his but off. I can appreciate his efforts because he had two large parties, and he kept up with the pace and requirements of each party. The staff was friendly, so the place is really an okay spot. I just wasn't impressed with the food. We ordered calamari, lobster croquettes, the Market Burger, and the Lamb Shank, a special item. They were okay, but nothing made me scream, "I must try that again!" The lamb shank was underseasoned, but it was very tender. The market burger wasn't that bad and was a good recommendation by the server. I might stop by again, but that's probably if nothing else is available. read more

The pastrami was lumped on top and was not warm. The cheese was nowhere melted. Not one for complaining to a server or manager, I had hoped to see if my issues could be addressed quietly. No opportunity occurred since our waiter, who stopped by 4 times prior to our ordering in an interrupting manner for 15-20 minutes all the time I was looking for him. After eating 1/3 , I quit. Heck's is a solid 4 for me. The food, service, setting, was all good but not great. The lavender non-alc drink I ordered was 80% ice so I only got a few sips out of it but it was delicious. We shared the grilled peach and corn salad-- this was the highlight of the meal for me. I should have gotten this as the main dish. We both ordered burgers as the main course. I got the Ohio City Burger because I love mushrooms. The burger tasted overwhelmingly of the pesto-like sauce on the burger which I did not love, and the bun was dry yet drenched with burger juices, making it hard to eat. I will not be craving that burger anytime. The fries were just ok. If you love big portions, they definitely gave me a lot-- I could only finish half, and I came to the restaurant starving. Besides the food, our server was attentive and never made us wait too long to order, get our food, or pay the bill. As mentioned in another review, the floor of the restaurant is indeed a little slick. I think it's just the type of flooring they chose... not because it was wet or dirty. read more

We came with a party of 3 and sat at the bar and our bartender was amazing, recommending different dishes that paired well with my bourbon (which they had Wellers by the way). My favorite menu item was the baba ganoush which paired so well with their flat bread; although I do wish they gave us more flat bread with the dish. Their breaded cauliflower was also a favorite dish of mine, if you don't eat meat it's a great substitute for wings. Ok so I loved the service and the restaurant. The ambiance was nice. Beautiful decor. The menu sounded great. The food however was not good. I don't like the type of fries they make. They are/ taste burnt. A lot of places serve these type of fries and I don't understand why people like them. They are dry and hard and burned. The beachwood burger could have been better but the pastrami really saved it. It was good but could have been better with more flavor. The rice on the chicken kabobs was hard and crunchy. Rice should never be hard or crunchy. We asked for a new not so burnt order of fries and they came out the same. The burgers were cooked correctly but everything took a while to come out. The sauces were good and the pickle was good. We were hungry after a long day of travel so we ate less than half of our food. They replaced the rice with Brussel sprouts which also came out burnt! Hardly edible food. We spoke to the manager who heavily discounted our food. I really wanted to like this place but it was not a good first impression. I'd avoid it. read more
