A hidden little gem in Downtown Kirtland in a cute Red House "Rosa" with the most delicious Italian cuisine! The staff is absolutely fantastic everyone is happy to make certain everything is just right! The bar is very small... perhaps one day they will expand it has a nice quaint vibe with excellent libations!

As a lifelong New Yorker and self-proclaimed foodie, I can honestly say Casa Rosa completely blew me away. We were in town for a wedding and this place came highly recommended. Now I understand why. The restaurant itself has such a unique charm. We learned that it used to be a run-down house, but it's been completely transformed into a quaint, gorgeous little restaurant. You can tell a lot of love went into the renovation. It feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed without trying too hard. I had the sea scallops with risotto, and it was hands down one of the best dishes I've had in years. The scallops were perfectly seared, buttery and tender, and the risotto was rich, creamy, and seasoned to perfection. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish that he hasn't stopped talking about since, and I stole more than a few bites of their homemade pappardelle was also incredible, fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. And then... the crème brûlée. I'm still thinking about it. Silky, perfectly torched on top, and not overly sweet. Just flawless. Our neighbors at the bar also got a charcuterie board that had me tempted to reach over and sample, it looked so good. Beyond the food, the service was warm and genuine. Frank, the owner, checked in on us throughout the night and made us feel like regulars. Our bartender Jen was equally wonderful, friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what she does. If I could eat every meal here, I would. Casa Rosa isn't just a good restaurant for Ohio, it's a fantastic restaurant, period. Can't wait to come back.

    Conchiglie Salsiccia Italiana

Everything at Casa Rosa was outstanding. The stuffed peppers with homemade sausage are a must-try. Our table ordered the Conchiglie Salsiccia Italiana, Tuscan Grilled Salmon, and the Chef's Cut 8 oz filet--each dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The chocolate cake was the perfect finishing touch, so don't skip it. The cherry on top was the amazing service we received from the staff and more specifically, Maria! We'll definitely be back!

Reis as well as the rest of the staff, amazing! Grouper with sweet corn done to perfection! Chef spoke four languages including Croatian! Be still my Croatian heart! Wine was perfect! What a great find!

Adorable little spot in Kirtland, very attractive modern decor. Wine options were good by the glass and the bottle, we tried to the Chardonnay and the Pinot Grigio and they were both excellent The service was terrific, our server Maria was very attentive and we witnessed her excellent service to other tables as well. The owner Frank made an appearance to say hi to the tables tonight. The risotto was so comforting and creamy and really hit the spot. I also really enjoyed the beet salad My dad loved the steak Diane special. Dessert was spot on, the Limoncello cake was perfect and the little chocolate house made on site was the cherry on top of a lovely evening. We caught sight of the chocolate cake, it would serve three easily lol. Prices are not inexpensive, but commensurate with the quality of the experience. People were in a range of sportcoats to shorts. I would recommend stopping in and/or making a reservation

The appetizers were delicious! Recommend the arancini, mussels, stuffed peppers, and the lamb lollipops.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. They deserve another try. You should give them a try and see for yourself.

Service was amazing as always, and we never had to ask for anything. We tried a few appetizers: calamari, bacon, truffle fries and salads. Everything was delicious, the calamari was especially perfectly light and crispy with cherry peppers. Chef's kiss! All our steaks and sides were cooked perfectly, though we felt the steaks could have been seasoned more. We had filets and a strip. Sides were all delicious: mashed, truffle fries, creamed spinach, and Brussels sprouts. Will definitely return to this location if I'm in the area again

Unfortunately, it just does not feel like the same place anymore. First, the addition of high tops really changes the atmosphere. What once felt upscale and classic now leans more "sports bar with expensive steaks." Maybe that is just me, but part of the appeal was the elegance and experience. Then came the steaks. We ordered three expensive steaks medium, and before they even came out, the waiter realized the kitchen heard "well done." We politely asked for it to be corrected before the food hit the table. Somehow, one still arrived well done anyway. Thankfully, someone at the table took one for the team and ate it, but when dinner runs around $600, you hope the steaks and the temperatures are both memorable for the right reasons. At one point, a side dish was dropped on the floor. Accidents happen, no big deal. But we did have to gently clarify that yes, we would still like the dish... just preferably not the "farm to floor" version. The disappointing part is that I had promised a fantastic worker and his amazing wife a really special night out. This unfortunately was not it. I genuinely hope this was just an off night, because this place used to set the standard. For now though, we will probably try another steakhouse next time.

I also asked for a lemon wedge, not a slice, since you can't squeeze a slice. Next came our espresso martinis, one for each of us. We actually felt the bang for our buck -- strong, well-balanced, and worth every penny. For our appetizer, we shared the gluten-free BBT meatballs. It was delightful. Then our Cobb salads arrived, each with shrimp added. We requested a side of extra-virgin olive oil -- not a blend -- and the kitchen got it right. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake, minus the graham cracker crust because my friend is gluten-free. I would have preferred the kitchen plate it for sharing and provide dessert silverware with it, instead of us having to flag someone down. I'm also industrial seed oil free, and Hailey was attentive to both of our dietary needs throughout. The manager, Chris Nichols, stopped by to check in and ensure we were satisfied -- a clear sign the restaurant is customer centric. I actually thought Chris was the GM. Kudos to the general manager, Ben Lano, for inspiring great teamwork. Lastly, I give the ambience four stars, simply because we don't have a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ohio.
