My children celebrating my 66 Birthday

A hidden little gem in Downtown Kirtland in a cute Red House "Rosa" with the most delicious Italian cuisine! The staff is absolutely fantastic everyone is happy to make certain everything is just right! The bar is very small... perhaps one day they will expand it has a nice quaint vibe with excellent libations!

Crème brûlée

As a lifelong New Yorker and self-proclaimed foodie, I can honestly say Casa Rosa completely blew me away. We were in town for a wedding and this place came highly recommended. Now I understand why. The restaurant itself has such a unique charm. We learned that it used to be a run-down house, but it's been completely transformed into a quaint, gorgeous little restaurant. You can tell a lot of love went into the renovation. It feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed without trying too hard. I had the sea scallops with risotto, and it was hands down one of the best dishes I've had in years. The scallops were perfectly seared, buttery and tender, and the risotto was rich, creamy, and seasoned to perfection. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish that he hasn't stopped talking about since, and I stole more than a few bites of their homemade pappardelle was also incredible, fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. And then... the crème brûlée. I'm still thinking about it. Silky, perfectly torched on top, and not overly sweet. Just flawless. Our neighbors at the bar also got a charcuterie board that had me tempted to reach over and sample, it looked so good. Beyond the food, the service was warm and genuine. Frank, the owner, checked in on us throughout the night and made us feel like regulars. Our bartender Jen was equally wonderful, friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what she does. If I could eat every meal here, I would. Casa Rosa isn't just a good restaurant for Ohio, it's a fantastic restaurant, period. Can't wait to come back.

Conchiglie Salsiccia Italiana

Everything at Casa Rosa was outstanding. The stuffed peppers with homemade sausage are a must-try. Our table ordered the Conchiglie Salsiccia Italiana, Tuscan Grilled Salmon, and the Chef's Cut 8 oz filet--each dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The chocolate cake was the perfect finishing touch, so don't skip it. The cherry on top was the amazing service we received from the staff and more specifically, Maria! We'll definitely be back!

Reis as well as the rest of the staff, amazing! Grouper with sweet corn done to perfection! Chef spoke four languages including Croatian! Be still my Croatian heart! Wine was perfect! What a great find!

Adorable little spot in Kirtland, very attractive modern decor. Wine options were good by the glass and the bottle, we tried to the Chardonnay and the Pinot Grigio and they were both excellent The service was terrific, our server Maria was very attentive and we witnessed her excellent service to other tables as well. The owner Frank made an appearance to say hi to the tables tonight. The risotto was so comforting and creamy and really hit the spot. I also really enjoyed the beet salad My dad loved the steak Diane special. Dessert was spot on, the Limoncello cake was perfect and the little chocolate house made on site was the cherry on top of a lovely evening. We caught sight of the chocolate cake, it would serve three easily lol. Prices are not inexpensive, but commensurate with the quality of the experience. People were in a range of sportcoats to shorts. I would recommend stopping in and/or making a reservation

The appetizers were delicious! Recommend the arancini, mussels, stuffed peppers, and the lamb lollipops.

Great service, disappointing food, and dirty wine glasses…read more Our first visit but disappointed. We made reservations and indicated that it was our anniversary. When we arrived, the hostess was not at the station so we alked in. Seated immediately by the sole wait staff/bartender. No one ever acknowledged our special occassion. If you aren't going to acknowledge, why ask? We were in time for happy hour and were very pleased with the happy hour tempranillo. Not so happy about those dirty glasses. Happy hour cauliflower was tasty. The steak was not a uniform temp. Edges were medium well and inside was medium rare. The chimichurri is very parsley forward. The fish was perhaps a tad over cooked. The rice, plaintains, & salsa were just ok. Jack Daniels bread pudding was bland. The sauce tasted more of cinnamon than jack daniels and the bread pudding itself wasn't flavorful. The chocolate cake was ok. We shared a few bites, then took it home. Took us a few days to get through it and we love chocolate! Service was amazing, especially considering she also was tending bar. There were several parties dining and so far as we could tell, she kept everyone happy. If you give it a try, go for the service ... the food is just ok.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. They deserve another try. You should give them a try and see for yourself.
