So very disappointing. I used to love Red Lobster and I hadn't been in years, so I brought my husband. RL has gone through a lot of changes over the past few years and I understand that. However the food quality of my meal was awful. The steak was very tough and gummy, and the Mac and cheese pretty flavorless. Even the cheddar bay biscuits they bring out of free tasted more like cheeze it crackers than cheese biscuits. The service was also very slow, even on a for a quiet Tuesday. Came here on Christmas Eve. It was very busy, but we were seated immediately, as we had reservations. Can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. Everyone was in a great mood and very attentive. Difficult to do on a busy holiday night! I wish I got our server's name, as she remembered everything from extra ranch, to extra tartar sauce & sour cream. The margarita flight and mango martini were a nice surprise. Great balance between fruit and alcohol. Our biscuits took awhile to come out, but our server was great about communicating that with us. When they did come out they were very fresh! The staff was amazing and catered to our birthday girl beyond expectations! Not only did they provide a birthday sundae but a card signed by the staff. I came in today for lunch and was greeted very rudely by the hostess Megan. First of all, no one was at the hostess stand for a bit and she came up and acted like she had better things to do. She threw our silverware on the table and walked away. We waited for a long time before anyone came up to greet us. Our service was mediocre at best. My husband and I used to come to this location mutliple times after we first got married for date nights, so we wanted to reminsce and returned after nearly a decade. I must give a shoutout to the staff from the hostess to our server, super friendly all across. We were acknowledged from the moment we stepped in and our server checked on us throughout the meal. As far as the restaurant, I think the interior could use some rejuvenation. As for our meal, we left satisfied. The cheddar bag biscuits still hit the spot. I got the shrimp trio. I asked for two porions of the coconut shrimp and one of the shrimp scampi. I thought they were delicious. My husband got the salmon bowl. He said he enjoyed it and the salmon was cooked nicely. Arrived at 5:15 Saturday night (1/31/26) and was sat immediately. From start to finish it was a 10 out of 10! The service was excellent, the place was clean and the food was on point. From the stuffed mushrooms to the house salad and on to the Ultimate Feast everything was delicious. My step-son wanted to go here for his big "hurrah" dinner before school starts. Personally - I don't like seafood. He loves crab, so he was set, and he loved it. Red Lobster delivered. Their cheddar biscuits? On point, as always. All our food was good - brussel sprouts were solid, albeit a little sweeter than my favorites (like, I've paid more for worse sprouts in restaurants - these were good). I opted for a steak, salad, and a loaded baked potato. We also had shrimp scampi at the table! The (non-sea)food was good! Well worth the price. The steak was cooked *perfectly* medium rare. The seasoning wasn't my favorite (it's not bad! Just not as much as I'd like!). Lastly - the real reason for five stars? Our server, Zane. Dude was ON IT. I'm a fan of Red Lobster! The cheddar biscuits are always good even though ya gotta tell yourself not to eat too many! We came on Mothers Day weekend and it wasn't even busy! Albeit it was Saturday and Mother's Day was the next day. It was just before 3 and we got seated right away. A good amount of families here and there, but it never got packed. My mom got the New Orleans salmon while my sister opted for the shrimp and lobster tacos. I got coconut shrimp. Everything was delicious! Seasoned well and all that. I also got a Caesar salad and mashed potatoes on the side. Wasn't a fan of the mashed potatoes but the salad was fantastic! Not as good as Texas Roadhouse's but pretty solid. For sides, my mom got rice and broccoli while my sister got just broccoli. My sister said her broccoli was salty. Great service! Again, they weren't that busy so our server checked on us quite a bit. I was hungry for some decent seafood. Decided to try Red Lobster again since there aren't a lot of seafood restaurants close by. They really were not that busy, but had a wait. The hostess said our wait would be 20 minutes. I could see available tables in the restaurant. One couple asked about sitting at empty tables in the bar area but were told there was no service there. Took right about twenty minutes to get a table. Half the restaurant was in use. The issue was more they didn't have the servers. I ordered the Bar Harbor Pasta Bake with a house salad. The house falls is basically iceberg lettuce with a slice of onion, tomato, a little cheddar cheese, and homemade bread crumbs. Simple. There is nothing to particularly write home about. Lots in the pasta bake, however! It had petite Maine lobster tail, shrimp, petite Bay scallops, mussels, and some diced tomatoes on a bed of linguini in a garlic and white wine sauce. Sauce was VERY heavy on the garlic and butter! I enjoy garlic, but this was a lot. Service as well as food coming out of the kitchen was pretty slow ... might be another reason why having to wait on a table. First time eating at this location. Inside and outside was very clean. Staff friendly-our server Jamie was the highlight of the visit. She was very attentive, friendly, and provided 5 star service. I came in grumpy at my family and her pleasant attitude immediately improved my own. Now to the food-I regret that I forgot to snap pics before everyone started eating!! My sister enjoyed her $20 crab special (Tuesday's only) meal with brussel sprouts, my brother enjoyed his fish & chips meal. We also ordered crab dip, bbq chicken flatbread, and mussels. I drove up to the northern part of Metro Columbus to give this chain one more chance and it was worth it. This quality of food is what I have been use to for over 30 years. Started with the salad, perfectly made with extra French dressing and even more cheese than I normally get. The biscuits was just the great balance between crunchy on the outside and done on the inside. I ordered the same lunch Grilled shrimp, wild rice, and broccoli. When it came out, there was plenty of correctly cooked rice, GREAT looking broccoli seasoned just right, and shrimp with grill marks. Enough of each to take half home. None of that great BBQ sauce, but my server suggest their Asian Ginger sauce which turned out to be even better. Only had 2 biscuits brought to table, but that helps the diet since those are addictive. Got an order of shrimp potstickers to take home but no fiery sweet chilli sauce. Too hot for me. That and my doggy bag from lunch rewarmed well. Server brought a bag without being asked unlike the location on Georgesville Rd. How could 1 site be so awful and another being the great as the norm?? The biscuits here are so dangerous. You eat one and before you know it, the whole basket is gone. Freshly made and extremely delicious! I built my own entree with scallops and salmon with broccoli and green beans for the sides. The salmon was well seasoned, but seemed like it could be cooked for a tad bit longer. The scallops were super yummy, especially in the butter! I was too full for dessert, but I definitely want to try the Key Lime Pie next time. Ah, Red Lobster. I have lots of past experiences with them, and preconceptions. Before we knew what foodies were (or even what gourmet meant,) it was the place to go for seafood. Often the only place within hundreds of miles. And it was "fancy" (expensive,) It was a place to go with family, on big occasions. Since then, I've had much better seafood, in Columbus much less along the seashore. I still go with family every few years, when they want to, but it does not pop up on my radar. This time, I saw a few commercials about small plates, which piqued my interest. And, I'd not been since they moved down the road on Sawmill. So why not? Walking up, there's an American flag, an Ohio flag, and a lobster flag... Inside is, yes, still a lobster tank. And that smell- not awful, just a slight scent of seafood, maybe a little past its prime, and disinfectant. Is that just the tank smell? Anyway, I remember it from every previous visit to Red Lobster, anywhere. Service was pretty good, all the way through. The place is dark, big, but comfy. Weird table layout, with lots of little jogs. Bathroom is hidden in the northeast corner (no signage till you get there, and no one noticed me wandering the whole place.) The biscuits come out quickly: hot cheesy salty puffy goodness. Those have not changed, except maybe gotten lighter and puffier? And now you can get them in a box at the grocery, but this way is better. I wanted a lot of things on the menu, a good sign, but then, I was starving. Went with the dragon broccoli, lobster roll, and sweet chili shrimp. The lobster roll was, well, disappointing. Overcooked lobster, not enough to stuff the roll, and the roll was just okay. The broccoli was pretty good- sort of a tempura batter on fresh broccoli, with a drizzle of zesty sauce (not really spicy.) The shrimp looked nothing like the picture on the menu. But, they were tender and plump, in a nice crispy batter, with a different, sort of Thai sweet heat sauce drizzled on. The plates plus biscuits were not quite enough to sate me, but as I said, I was starving. Should be plenty for most meals. Nothing was awful, but no real standouts. Kudos to them for trying, and changing up the menu. Better than I remember, fresher, more flavorful. But, there's a lot of competition, with much better food. $25 before tip and still hungry, but not a bad meal. We might come back. read more

Ok, I get it. It's Saturday evening. But, a one hour wait? This place is good, but not that good. Sorry.....

We dinned in Wednesday, December 6 around 6:20pm. When we first arrived no one was in lobby and waited about minute to be greeted before we decided to go to bar on right since no one was there. We did notice an employee in back booth eating/ chatting. I paid it no mind as maybe they were on break or something in guest view. Once we sat the bar the bartender-M greeted us right away which made us forget all about no one being in lobby upon arrival. (I will say as the night went on we noticed numerous people stand in lobby un-greeted for some time. Maybe short staffed- who knows). Anyway the delayed greet on arrival was no longer an issue. Our biggest problem came when we ordered our food. I ordered endless shrimp and my boyfriend order the Wednesday special steak and lobster. He ordered his steak medium and bartender said for a small up charge he could do a filet (my favorite so we did so) found out later that small up charge was $7. Our meals came out in decent time and his filet was completely over cooked well well done! Bartender seemed confused and didn't see the issue then asked what he should do; cook longer or start a new one?! Oh boy of course we asked for another filet to be cooked since it's over cooked. Meanwhile why we both patiently waited for the new filet the rest of our food (mashed, lobster, broccoli and shrimp) were getting cold. 10 minutes later we both began to eat in hopes new filet was coming soon. I ordered my second round of shrimp and it came up before his filet. Bartender said it should be coming up soon. I'm unsure of his definition of soon seeing how it's been over 15minutes and everything else on our plates is gone. I'm eating my dinner (3rd) while my partner still waiting for his steak. Bartender made a comment that kitchen is doing really well tonight and then manger comes out mumbles something to bartender about the food cost tonight. Seemed inappropriate and it was obviously directed towards us seeing how steak was over cooked no fault of ours. About 20/25 minutes later a sirloin not even a filet we ordered comes out very undercooked basically cooked blue almost rare. I don't know how you could mess up so badly. At this point we send it back and hope third time is the charm- WRONG! Steak comes back out 18 minutes later and it's medium well to well again. I figured it would be given the amount of time it took and no one in restaurant . Bartender said "oh that piece is going to be well done" no sir SMH. We no longer care and it was obvious the kitchen wasn't going to get right. My boyfriend obviously hungry and we're both disappointed with entire experience as we should be given we came out to eat for a nice meal together and that didn't happen. The purpose of ordering a filet and lobster is to enjoy it together just like going out to eat someone and either of them happened for us that night. Manger didn't once come over and apologize for a single thing- he didn't even acknowledge us for that matter. Spent over $100 to leave very disappointed. Just a very bad experience. Looking at all these negative reviews online I'm beginning to understand why. We had a nice family dinner here a few weeks ago. It was a little bit disappointed that the oysters were out, but other food were pretty good. The only reason I didn't give 5-star was the wine glasses were covered by the towel fibers. I know it is the standard that every restaurant should wipe the wine glasses with microfiber clothes but it is not acceptable when you pour Pinot Grigio into the glasses and see a lot of small pieces fibers swimming in all four glasses. Replace microfiber towels twice a day or get rid of old towels (require new towels from towel service company) would solve the problem. read more

We really are not picky or expect much but this restaurant must be on the verge of closing based on how bad the service and food was. We didn't even get a basket of the cheddar bay biscuits until we were almost done eating our meals, even after asking 4 times for them. Everyone eating there was treated like an inconvenience, even though there was very few of us there. We sat at the bar and the bartender walked by us 6 times without even acknowledging us and then she finally stopped and asked "oh were you trying to eat at the bar?" I was craving linguini, and my boyfriend was in the mood for seafood. I remembered that this place had killer linguini Alfredo so we went in. They no longer offer steak as an option with it, so we enquired about getting either the steak as substitute for chicken or the linguini noodles substituted for the 2 steak sides. The only way to accommodate this was $6 and change for a small side of noodles and we were told by the server that we would still be charged for the sides included in the steak entree. We got it for my daughter since she had her mind set on steak Alfredo. I got the " Cajun" chicken linguini, boyfriend got shrimp. The linguini Alfredo was like wallpaper paste. It was thick and seemed microwaved in both my meal and my daughters side. The "Cajun" was poorly advertised, as it was not spicy, or flavorful in any way. The chicken tasted undercooked like they had flash cooked raw chicken that had been sitting in a refrigerator entirely too long. My boyfriend asked to sub out a side salad for the fries in his entree and it was going to be a $3 and change up charge. His portion was 20 shrimp for $23. This place has gone down hill entiely in 4 months. Poor company choices, poor management and a poor kitchen staff. The only half redeeming quality was the waitress who tried her best despite all of these things out of control. Don't worry we still tipped her generously. For the price and what you get both with food and service I don't see this location remaining open much longer. read more

Both my husband and I ordered the 4 course entree deal. We got the soup, salad, main meal and desert. Basically making the waitresses job simple we got the same exact thing. Except my salad had a different dressing than my husband's. They didn't have Italian dressing so I had to go with the red wine vinaigrette. We also didn't eat all the cheddar bay biscuits because we wanted to savor our meals so look how simple we are as customers. You barely have to refill anything for us except the waters. Trust me I drink like a fish as my husband says. We first had the salad come out and I think because the waitress forgot we did the four course meal, she started bringing things out in two after that which made it harder to eat each thing together. I also got put next to a family with a screaming baby so I'm trying to talk to my husband but it's so hard with so much screaming going on. I think the only good thing was the desert which was the brownie with the ice cream and that was the only thing the waitress got right. Bringing that out last and so we can savor every bite of that sweet goodness. Altogether, I prefer the Polaris Red Lobster over this one. I just think it's because we always get better service there. The worst Red Lobster in the state of Ohio. Every time I go there, there's around 5 tables in the entire restaurant, yet the food always seem to take forever. I ordered the weekly deal but the server charged me the regular price. When I politely addressed it, she was very rude and disrespectful because I didn't say "I want the deal of the day". This location is probably the best location in all of Columbus when it comes to service and quality of food! The Hamilton location is probably 10 minutes from my home versus the 35 minutes to the Sawmill location and I will continue to choose the Sawmill location time and time again. I have been here several times over the past month and a half for endless shrimp and every dinner has been great! Each server has been phenomenal and on top of service and shrimp refills! I also noticed a manager was helping the tables around us and ours yesterday and that was awesome to see! I also like the new edition of the little "kiosk" on each table. It allows the kids to play an endless amount of games for $1.99. It also allows you to pay when you're done. You don't have to wait for the server. You can also split the check if you're with a friend very easily! I will continue coming to this location thanks to their wonderful customer service and great quality of food! read more

When you think about the Red Lobsters in Columbus, you realize that most of them are located in areas that were nice 20 years ago but not so much these days. The one on Dublin-Granville Rd and the one on S Hamilton Rd come to mind. Fortunately, this Red Lobster on Sawmill Rd is still in a nice location. The building is recently renovated, the servers are friendly, and there's ample parking. Unfortunately, the same can be said about their menu. It was amazing 20 years ago, but not so much these days. The food has been consistent, although never mind blowing. I do wish the chain in general can step up their menu. That's about as much as you can expect from a chain restaurant I guess. Overall, a 3.5 out of 5 but will round up since I've always had a pleasant dining experience here. read more

We visited last Sunday and called ahead to avoid a wait. That wasn't necessary as they were less than half full on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately but it took our server close to 10 minutes to greet us and longer to bring us biscuits. He was friendly but that doesn't make up for slow service. The meals seemed to run a little high but everything came with a salad and 1 or 2 sides, so that wasn't bad. I ordered the blackened Atlantic Salmon with a Cajun sauce. The salads came out quickly and were a nice size. Then the meals came out... It took a few minutes longer for my entre to arrive. I also ordered the firecracker broccoli... Which came out 10-12 minutes after my meal. The server said the kitchen prepared the firecracker shrimp instead. My Atlantic Salmon was tasty but it's wasn't blackened... there was a slightly darker section on top, but it looked more like grilled salmon... and there was not much Cajun-anything about it. I don't think the order was wrong, but the words "blackened" and "Cajun" creates certain expectations that went unmet. My wife liked her meal (one of the lobster-fest meals) and she said the lobster was really good. She's from Maine, so I'll trust her judgement. My sister wasn't impressed with her steak and shrimp (I knew the steak would be a bad idea). So we went 50% on the meals. When paying about $30 a meal I would expect more attentive service and better food prep. Ironically, I think the quality of the fish and lobster was pretty good. The meal was a disappointment due to poor service and poor preparation. These are fixable problems, but there's a reason Red Lobster is not doing the booming business they once did... I think there's a lack of pride in the brand and no interest in making the patron's visit special. I am unlikely to visit Red Lobster again, but if I do I will drive the extra distance to visit the Polaris location. read more

I went to the restaurant with friends from out of town to celebrate. We arrived at 9pm and were seated right away. The restaurant was not busy for a Saturday night. One person ordered a sangria. The picture on the menu had fruits and berries in the drink and was garnished with berries. This one had only a lemon cut up in it.... disappointing, sub par. We had to ask for cheddar biscuits, we waited about 20+minutes for them with drinks and nothing else to eat. We ordered the special captain morgan punch drink and oysters. We never received either. One guest's lobster bisque came, and our salads were delivered to the table next to ours. Our salads came out 10 minutes later, still no oysters or our drinks. The lobster bisque came and was cold. No servers in sight to send it back. The guest with the bisque went to go find someone. No hostess, couldn't get the bartenders attention at the bar...no one cared to offer help to a guest walking around with a bowl of soup..... Went to the kitchen and found someone to take the bisque to heat it. They didn't go into the kitchen but could see the staff was just cleaning up and breaking down, getting ready for closing....not taking care of guests. The bisque came back, same bowl, wasn't any warmer. Still cold. At that moment the table beside us was asking for their server to microwave their food!! 45 minutes into the experience we get up to leave - had enough. Poor service. Poor food, unsafe to serve seafoods not properly cooked or heated. Other guests were seated and getting drinks... so where were our drinks? appetizers? Where was the manager? Couldn't get any assistance. We will not be back and recommend that other Yelpers do not waste their time or money at this restaurant. read more
