We hosted our celebration in the Buckeye Room, and it could not have been more perfect. Our Buckeye fans and alumni were over the moon with the décor and atmosphere--it added such a special touch to an already meaningful occasion. The food was AMAZING, and Michael, our server, was truly top-notch! He was attentive, personable, professional, and made sure our group was well cared for throughout the entire evening. Our booth was spacious and comfortable, shaped almost circular so that we could sit close together but large enough there is plenty of space for more people. Our waiter, Sam, and his assistant, Brandon, very promptly arrived and introduced themselves. They brought amazing rye & sourdough bread in a basket with 2 choices of butter. Sam was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were on par with what we had in mind. We both ordered half salads, I ordered the Freddie and my husband had the Iceberg Blue. Both fresh and flavorful, neither of us could choose a favorite. For our entrees my husband opted for the Steak Collinsworth and I chose the pork chops... we both were impressed with the pork chops. Very flavorful and juicy with just the perfect amount of charring. We also ordered mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. It was all delicious! So we did what was recommended which was called ahead to let them know that we were coming in to dine and the host reassured us that the Chef would be able to accommodate for the vegan diet. Once we arrived and were seated, our server gave use the run down and proceeded to let him about the vegan diet to which he responded there were vegan options on the menu (which there are not), I let him know we were told to let him know so he could communicate with the chef to see what could be prepared. After checking with the chef he told me only one dish could be made vegan even though I was told they would be able to make off menu dishes for dietary restrictions. The executive chef came out only to agree with me that they could make Off menu dishes, but didn't provide me with what they could make but told me the tofu for the salmon dish would be blackened, seasoned and seared so I went ahead and ordered the one dish that I was told could be made Vegan. I then went to order a drink and wanted to know what the rotating IPA they had on draft was at the time... the server responded that the ipa was called "rotating" if I would like to order it, after telling him several times that's incorrect and asking for him to check with the bartender, he finally decided to go ask what the rotating beer was, s if I don't know what I'm talking about or how to order at a restaurant. The food finally came out and not only was my tofu not blackened, it was barely seared or cooked as the chef assured me it would. My mother also order her eggs to be overhard and they brought her a runny egg and had to take it back. I tried to suck it up and just eat my food but the lack of favor was disappointing so I asked about my togu not being prepared right which they acknowledged and brought me out JUST the tofu (blackened this time) without remaking the whole dish. They did eventually take that item off the bill, but the manager never came out to speak to us or to acknowledge all the problems we were experiencing. I am highly disgusted and shocked with this experience and the lack of professionalism and hospitality exhibited by the server, the management and the kitchen staff.
