    Spring drink menu

I haven't been able to find anywhere else in town that makes a Juicy Lucy. I think some places used to, but they no longer have them on the menu. And of course, they're easy enough that you might be able to talk someplace into making it for you. Or, make one at home! It's not hard. We used to do it all the time. I think we just called them stuffed burgers. Put your own cheese inside, or whatever you like. Anyway, I've been thinking about getting one, and coming here, for a long time. I've been hanging out in German Village more, so I have already tried most of the restaurants around. Not this one, not yet. It's a bar/restaurant, and when I went at 6 PM on a Thursday they had a steady stream of people, but were not busy. Service was very good, although a little slow because there was only the one bartender to handle both drinks at the bar and any food orders at the bar or at tables. But she stayed on top of things, and I saw other people getting what looked like above average bar food like wings, etc. And then I got my burger. It was huge. They take two good sized patties and put the cheese of your choice in between there. Of course, your choices are only feta and American I think. I went with feta. There was a lot of stuff in the middle, and it turned the whole concoction into a very large burger. I wasn't quite able to finish it. It also comes with a big pile of pretty darn good fries. And a pickle, which made a nice counterpoint. I really liked the whole meal. The burger was cooked up well, a little crispy on the edges. The cheese was semi melted, but still intact to some extent. The whole thing held together well. It was on a good bun. I was very impressed, and I would get one again. Plus, there are a few other things on the menu that look nice. I honestly didn't even look closely at the bill, so they may have charged me all the extra things that other people are complaining about. And then I put a tip on top of that. But the price seemed reasonable for the very good, very large portions of food. The place is pretty cozy inside. Lots of wood, TV screens, bar seats, and tables and booths. It's not huge, but it's big enough. I bet it gets busy on weekends. They do have a three season room out back.

My wife went here about 8pm on a Saturday night. They were not busy, just some people hanging out at the bar. The service was excellent and the prices were quite reasonable. The food was great too. My only complaint is the automatic 18% gratuity added to EVERY check. I always tip more than that anyway, but they must have had an issue with customers not tipping? Requiring a tip feels like an odd choice. I had to look it up on the menu afterward and it does say it online, but there was no mention of it in our time there. I could see a lot of people missing that on their check and unintentionally double-tipping. I would probably return here. It's a bar/restaurant, so plenty of options for food and drinks. I am glad they had a veggie sandwich and their french fries were great! My wife liked her salmon sliders and we enjoyed the fried pickle chips too.

Excited about going to a new place and I really really wanted to like it. Website had me make reservation but when we walked in they didn't even care about reservation.our server was so sweet so personable. The place had about 25 people with 1 server, 1 bartender, and 1 in the kitchen. My husband and,ed if she could wipe off the table as it was sticky and she said that was from last night! I thought most restaurants lean up before closing . Food was meh- again great service. Also our soft drinks were served in plastic cups like for take out and we were given plastic silverware. Hard to cut chicken with a plastic knife. At these prices I would have expected real glasses and silver silverware. The food was not good. .A$15 burger should not taste like something I would cook at home. Trust me you would not want to eat something I cooked . My biggest beef were lots of hidden charges when we got our bill . #1 Service Charge $1.00 #2Gratiity was added on 20% for a party of 3. $8.60 #3 Credit Card Surcharge 2.82%. $1.36 #4and they wanted an additional tip !!!!

Double Take is a nice bar downtown. Amosphere is nice and comfortable the drinks well made. There's I love the lighting that gives it kind of a tavern like effect. There's a nice little patio out in the back with a wall waterfall in the summertime. They do a variety of different events depending on the day. Friday night is R&b night currently burlt there's also a delicious brunch on Sundays and karaoke some nights. The restaurant is not usually crowded but that's depending on what's going on but a nice place to hang out on any day and really good food.

I was looking forward to trying this place out and ended up walking out after a few minutes. This location is the former Jimmy V's Grill & Pub in German Village and was really exited after seeing this and browsing the menu. Last time we tried to eat here it was closed but that was on me for not checking so have been planning a return. We found easy street parking and went inside. Sign said seat yourself so after a couple mins we asked a server if we could sit up front and she said yes. There was No greeting when we walked in or any other conversation. This was at 6:30pm and after sitting in the front window for a few more minutes without a hello or any kind of "I'll be right with you" or acknowledgement I asked my partner if he just wanted to leave. There were about five people drinking at the bar but no other customers. Just wasn't inviting and thought why spend our money here if this is how dinner is going to go and if this is the experience we are going to have. So we left without so much a drink, a greeting, or a menu or goodbye. Maybe it was just that one person working but a lot of room here for improvement. I so every rarely give a one star but honestly can't justify anything higher. Doubt I will give it another shot based on first impressions.

Wandered in for dinner tonight and tried Double Take for the first time with my partner. We were literally walking up High Street visiting and this looked like a cool spot. I have to admit that I was taken aback a little by having my ID scanned and being patted down by security to enter a restaurant to eat dinner but we didn't let that deter us. Just made us question a bit. But it was all good as their security officer was very friendly. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly by a nice bartender/server and were pleasantly surprised by the full bar and great draft beer selection. So of course I had a yummy IPA. As for the food, it was pretty great! We started with 10 Boneless wings. First off, they were huge! After cutting each in 2 we pretty much had 20 wings. 5 were the Armenian sauce which was basically a hot wing sauce with blue cheese melted into it. Truly delicious!! The other 5 were Grippo dry rub. Yes, the same seasoning as the Grippo potato chips and they were also delicious! All the "wings" were incredibly juicy, tender breast meat and I'd come back just for them! We shared the Chicken Philly sandwich with fries and again we were delighted by how delicious this sandwich was. We were a little disappointed as we really wanted Cheesesteak but they were apparently out tonight. But, the Chicken was awesome. Cooked nicely on the flat top with onions and bell peppers with cheese melted all between a fluffy baguette. Finally, I really didn't care for the automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill, not because I didn't want to tip but more so because I'm normally a better tipper. I feel like the servers are missing out by doing this as many people tip more than 18%. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Double Take and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

The #Wife and I took my Mother-in-Law out for casual #dinner last week to @doubletakebarandgrill . It was Wednesday a little after work, but they weren't very busy at all. Since Momma doesn't hear great we sat at a table away from the bar. Everyone else was at the bar. They have plenty of TV's, I'd like to come back for a game. I had the #blackened #salmon #pasta. Gotta say, it was some of the best #alfredo I've had out! It was seasoning the way we make it at home. Needed nothing extra. The salmon was juicy and delicious. Our servers were nice, but not very attentive this night. Probably lost out on a couple more drink sales. A heads UP!! They automatically add a gratuity regardless of party size.

Ordered at the bar. The bartender was great. Laid-back, helpful. They had birria tacos as a special, which sounded really good, but I went with the bacon jam burger that everybody talks about. And it is an excellent burger. Great bun; great burger, thick and meaty. Gouda cheese, lettuce, and onions and tomato. And the bacon jam, which was more subtle than I expected. A nice layer on there, adding some sweetness and saltiness, but not overwhelming. Blended well with everything else. There are several other appealing burgers on the menu, and I am interested in what their specials are since this one looked good, so I'm sure I'll be back.

We got the giant meatballs from South Village and 3 different types of sushi from next door. Quite the spread but all of it was good!! I come a lot here - for months I used to come every Sunday night get the wings and hummus. Whatever the old wing sauce was - it was sooo good. They have now switched to buffalo and to be honest other places make it better. Still try the hummus. It's delicious. So is the incredible meatball. Drinks here have always been really good. Quality. Pizza really goood - get the Hot Honey pepperoni. They also used to have one of the best calamari plates in the city - and I have Italian parents who ALWAYS order Calamari. So if you ever see it - get it. Small tv in the corner by the bar - enough to be seen, small enough not to kill the vibe but definitely don't come if your goal is to watch a game. Said it was delicious. Mine was equally as delicious. Maybe not quite as big but that was fine by me. I actually quite enjoyed that they served the 1000 island on the side. It made it way easier to eat. The cheese was nice and gooey. Just perfect. The onion straws were good too. I shared those with my husband. They were actually just as good on their own as they were dipped in any kind of sauce. That's big coming from me bc I love dipping! We got a box for our leftovers and headed out happy with a great first time experience here.

My wife and I started dinner at 5:45 and didn't leave until 8:45 and it was a lovely evening. We chatted for hours, sampled some absolutely delicious food, and just generally relaxed. We had a lovely server, but to say it was just a single person would do the staff injustice. I feel like every single employee in the place waited on us. All of the staff were knowledgable and gave off pretty cool, chill vibes. Three hours is a long meal, but the pacing was superb. Courses didn't come out like beats on a metronome. Rather, the pacing was changed to meet the waxing and waning excitement for the next plate of an absolutely enormous amount of food. The appetizers came in at a measured pace, the mains slowed, and then deserts were served rapid fire. Between courses, staff might stop by for a quit chat before moving on to the next pressing matter. Lots of staff offered their thoughts on their favorite dishes or suggestions on how a plate my be best enjoyed. The whole experience lacked any pressure or pretense. There were fine dining touches such as replacement of my wife's napkin after she stepped away for a break, but it felt more like eating at a cool friends house than it did eating in the ballroom of a palace. Do you know what I mean? You aren't going to Agni for opulence. You are going for a cool exciting food adventure that you aren't going to get many places and certainly very few in Columbus. We had the Midwest Tasting Menu. 11 courses? Something like that. It was expensive, but I don't even mind it. We loved the "Health Sodas" that were curated by the bartenders. My wife had a coconut, lime, and guava concoction and I had some else that was sweet and fruity and tart. The first few bites of pani puri with spiced ginger and then the "happy meal" and salad course really set the tone of a kitchen that puts out excellent dishes with balanced flavors. For me, the best bite of the night was the Thai noodle salad. It was just a perfect amount of spicy with lots of textures. Mine was served with tofu since I'm not a seafood lover and it was the best tofu preparation I've ever had. My wife's favorite was the "soup and salad" course which is hard to describe, but I agree that it was delicious. The low point of the evening's food for me was in the seafood course. My wife loved her actual seafood, but my vegetarian replacement was a miss. They served it with a piece of baby eggplant that was nearly raw; crunchy and practically inedible. I will forgive them, but I think that one needs to be rethought. The end of the meal had lots of little fun touches. The bill comes in a giant lego minifigure head. The restaurant provides a souvenir menu that lists all the dishes that were tried. There were some curated, store-bought candies for take away. All-in-all, it was just an excellent experience. Do yourself a favor and try it, but go hungry and maybe don't try to eat every bite of every dish so that you aren't hurting by the end of the night.

I was surprised with a birthday dinner at the most brilliant Agni! He chose the "Midwest Nostalgia"…read more12-course tasting menu which is so creative and modern, fusing midwestern favorites and Avishar's signature "fast food" with all sorts of global flavors. First, we need to tell Avishar we are SO thrilled that his restauraunt graces our city! It's so special. It's a destination. It's unrivaled in its cleverness. I've had a handful of meals over the past 25 years that have burned indelible food memories into my brain... lamb tagine in Marseille; a Cretan feast in Istanbul; and now Joya's insane seafood jahl in Columbus. We've been to Agni before, but the current menu is so worldly with a few flavors new to us, yet familiar with the Midwestern vernacular built into each of the 12 courses! And let's be clear, it was more like 15 or 16 courses, given that some of the dishes had three or four components. Dan and I always try to sniff out fusion food when we travel, but we can't think of any place we've been to that is this broad in the interpretation and combination of cuisines and flavors. Simply fabulous! The cocktails are unique and the somm's wine suggestions of cava and a beautiful pouilly fumé were the perfect compliments. The service is top-notch and the ambiance is totally cool. Agni is an incredibly special place that Columbus is lucky to have. The atmosphere is We love how he cooks with his heart, soul, travels, and shared experiences. What a treat!!!
