    Cheddar Bay Biscuits
    Sandra F.

It's been over 10 years since I've dined at a Red Lobster. It shows in my last review. It used to be one of my fave seafood chain restaurants back in the day. Since then, it's gone downhill. Except for the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Always fresh and on point. My mom gave us a gift card and this was the nearest location to where we live so we decided to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away. The menu was the same. It looked like a variety but not that much. More pictures featured than anything. I wanted the grilled founder (which was listed on the menu) but our server told us they no longer serve it. Just the fried and stuffed flounder. So I opted for the Atlantic Salmon with broccoli and baked potato and my Mr. ordered the stuffed flounder with orzo and broccoli. I was a little upset that I couldn't get the grilled flounder. They should have updated their menu. Our biscuits were amazing! Then our food came out in less than 15 minutes. It was okay, everything was a bit salty. Service was great! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Experience overall was alright. I don't know if I'd ever come back. Only if a friend or family requested it. I wouldn't say it's horrible but it's okay.

Grilled Atlantic Salmon with a baked potato and broccoli. So salty that we didn't even eat the to-go leftovers.

I hadn't been to a Red Lobster in quite sometime, and honestly, it's not a place I actively seek out. If both for a gift card that my lady got from her mom I don't think we would've gone. Was it worth it even with that? Not really. It was okay at best. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. As far as ambiance, if you've been to one then you've been to them all. The staff were all friendly though, especially our server. The menu looks big at first, but it's mostly pictures and empty space with few real unique options. My lady was eying the grilled flounder, however, we were told by our server that they don't make it that way anymore. Why have something on the menu that you don't even make? So she opted for the grilled salmon instead with a baked potato and broccoli. I had the stuffed flounder with broccoli and orzo rice. We didn't wait too long before our food was ready. Everything was rather salty, even the broccoli. At least the cheddar bay biscuits were good, but it's hard to mess up biscuits. I wasn't a big fan before this visit, and I can't say I'm one now either. Overall, Red Lobster is simply okay at best. I'll stick to locally-owned seafood restaurants, gift card or no.

    Peach margarita ... yummmmmmmm

Maybe I'm just so grateful to be able to dine in or restaurant everything is tasting better to me... Very grateful. Normally I'd only give Red Lobster or three or four but today was definitely a five-star experience. It helped that was seeing my best friend who I hadn't been able to see for couple months do the corona .. but the food and the cocktail we're all very good. I tried something new the Nashville hot shrimp. It is really good and the peach margarita .... fantastic. Great service.

    The ultimate feast.

First of all the biscuits were outstanding they felt like little angel pillows from heaven so savory. We ordered the ultimate feast that included two premium dishes and two classic dishes. We both got the same thing lobster tail and cheddar Bay shrimp, which was new and we devoured it. This was the best experience that I've had at red lobster they even told us that they kill the crabs before they boil them, but they said dispatched, the mayo slapped, and if we go back again, we will ask for Joe. He was amazing and he gave us an extra biscuit to go. The good thing was the restaurant was not very busy and the waiters had all the Time in the world to wait on his head and feet. They even wipe their mouths for us when we had butter on them for this the restaurant was super clean even the lobsters were dust free.

People let me start of by saying I an not a seafood person. But when others in the family are you hope and pray you can get something good and healthy when you go off the grid.. lol! I even asked for it special grilled chicken with Nashville hot seasoning.. BAM!!! This was the Bomb over rice. With a couple of frozen drinks was a great experience.. anyone that is a non seafood eater co with the family and enjoy.

    Shrimp trio!

We went on a Saturday night at 7:30pm and expected to find a mad house. We were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant in total control and not very busy. There was still a 45 minute wait but plenty of space at the bar so we opted for the bar. Ben the bartender was very good and attentive even though he was very busy. The food was also very good and came out perfectly timed. I love the prawns that are new on the menu. The shrimp trio is a lot of food but every bite was tasty. We will be back to this location.

    My check.

If the stuffed mushrooms had any seafood in them....I did not taste or see it. The lobster bisque was lukewarm at best. It was still quite tasty. The cheddar cheese biscuits never disappoint. I am pleased to say they were hot enough for butter to melt. I ordered the appetizer Coconut Shrimp for my entree. There are six in the order. The Pina colada dip is quite good. My husband had the Ultimate feast. It was just okay. Nothing was hot. The baked potato with the shrimp was very disappointing I would say keep your $3.99. I sent my sweet tea back. It just wasn't good. Our server was very friendly and efficient. We left her a 18% tip. The bathroom was being cleaned when I went in to wash my hands. We were not greeted when we arrived. A server had to hunt for the hostess. It was a slow night for business. We parked close to the entrance. Service and cleanliness got the 2 Stars. Food was mediocre at best. Sad...usually Red Lobster is consistent. Will I come back? Probably. If my dining experience is the same I will not be back.

    Friday flounder fish deal

We really enjoyed the experience here at Red Lobster. They have the clothes shrimp special and it's less than $20. There are about six different choices. The fiesta shrimp is fried in a crispy batter cooked with nacho cheese poured over it with diced tomatoes. I didn't like the taste. The garlic shrimp are juicy and taste great. Popcorn shrimp are kind of small and crunchy. Thre shrimp linguini has tini tiny shrimp in it. The sauce is great. They have an early dinner special each weekday, Friday being fried flounder. There's so much that's it's a shareable dish. I love the tartar sauce. Angela was our server. She is top notch. She's on top of everything and extremely kind and friendly. You'll love her!

We stopped by after a visit to the Newtown Candy shop. We took some lobster roll kits and clam chowder home. They pride themselves on fresh seafood regularly flown in from around the world. Their pricing is double Jungle Jims and triple kroger. Can't say good or bad until we try the fresh fish. For example they have many types of Salmon from around the globe. $49.99 for Sea Bass is pricey for me. I think Halibut was $39.99 a pound and the salmon was $20-$30 a pound. They also make their own sides. The clam chowder had too many potatoes. On Friday and Saturday nights they cook a few meals out back in a small tent/room. Main items are Lobster Rolls and Fish n chips.

Unfortunately, this visit was very different. The food was still very good--our fajitas were flavorful and enjoyable--but the service really took away from the experience. While we did eventually get what we asked for, it took quite a while for simple things like extra tortillas, and overall the service felt slow and inattentive. The atmosphere also felt a bit tense, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. What stood out the most was the lack of basic interaction. My husband made a point to say "thank you, sir" when our food was brought out and even said "have a nice day" as we were leaving, but there was no response either time. At the end of the meal, what appeared to be a manager dropped the check on our table without saying a word and walked away, which felt abrupt and unwelcoming. It was disappointing, especially given how much we enjoyed our previous visit, but based on this experience we don't plan to return.

ALTHOUGH, when we went in for our reservations we were seated, in the back of the restaurant it was warm, like really warm. Come to find out that the AC was out, and appeared we were seated in the warmed part. Thankfully the table next to us left, and the server moved the box fans our way. Food; We started with the Brussel sprouts, and they were really good season and cooked to perfect. We did share the Chicken salad croissant, which I didn't asked which is my fault it is NOT all white meat chicken I did try it, and sadly I stopped eating it as not only was it mixed with white/dark meat the actual chicken salad was warm. I did ask the server if it the Chicken Salad is served warm typically, and she replied "no?", so I was a bit taken back and apparently the Kitchen AC was out too :(. The positive, we also shared The Figgy flat bread was very good, I would not have been mad if it had a bit more bacon. Bar; I ordered a Dirty Martini and it was one of the best I have had, the bar service was great. Service; Our server was so sweet, and friendly and HONEST. I was a bit disappointed in the couple things, but the service and cocktails I want to go back and try again with the AC is working. TIP if AC is broken, make sure to seat everyone is the coolest part first.

It came to the table very well done. I sent it back because it was inedible. After nearly 15 minutes I was finally brought a replacement. It was so rare that it was nearly raw. I told them it was fine. I figured it was better raw/rare than well done. The spice on it made it so spicy that I couldn't finish it. I love spicy food. Very spicy, in fact. But this had so much cayenne dumped on it that I couldn't eat it. We got a box for it but it was tossed. Also - my husband swore that his steak was not a ribeye. He said it was a cheaper cut and thought it a sirloin. My old fashioned cocktail was good - as was my husband's beer. The service was also good. The food, however, was not. Oh, and someone brought her dog to sit on a fluffy pillow to eat at the table nearby. Yup - not a service dog - a pet dog small enough to be carried in and then was sat on a fluffy pillow on the chair at their table. Then when servers would walk by with food the dog had to be controlled from leaving the seat to go for the food. I don't think I will return.
