We went to red lobster on a busy Friday night. We made reservations, but there was still a 25 minute wait. Kudos to the hostess because there was a really rude guy there that was upset that they took a 10 person party back before him and he said well we made reservations and she said well they did too and he started screaming at her about how he made him that morning. Apparently he doesn't understand the concept of when a 10 person table is open versus a two person table, but she handled it with grace. My husband and I did have to wait awhile before getting greeted and seated--however, our waitress was very sweet, attentive, funny and prebussed our table and brought out drink and biscuit refills promptly. It's been over 10 years since I've dined at a Red Lobster. It shows in my last review. It used to be one of my fave seafood chain restaurants back in the day. Since then, it's gone downhill. Except for the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Always fresh and on point. My mom gave us a gift card and this was the nearest location to where we live so we decided to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away. The menu was the same. It looked like a variety but not that much. More pictures featured than anything. I wanted the grilled founder (which was listed on the menu) but our server told us they no longer serve it. Just the fried and stuffed flounder. So I opted for the Atlantic Salmon with broccoli and baked potato and my Mr. ordered the stuffed flounder with orzo and broccoli. I was a little upset that I couldn't get the grilled flounder. They should have updated their menu. Our biscuits were amazing! Then our food came out in less than 15 minutes. It was okay, everything was a bit salty. Service was great! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Experience overall was alright. I don't know if I'd ever come back. Only if a friend or family requested it. I hadn't been to a Red Lobster in quite sometime, and honestly, it's not a place I actively seek out. If both for a gift card that my lady got from her mom I don't think we would've gone. Was it worth it even with that? Not really. It was okay at best. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. As far as ambiance, if you've been to one then you've been to them all. The staff were all friendly though, especially our server. The menu looks big at first, but it's mostly pictures and empty space with few real unique options. My lady was eying the grilled flounder, however, we were told by our server that they don't make it that way anymore. Why have something on the menu that you don't even make? So she opted for the grilled salmon instead with a baked potato and broccoli. I had the stuffed flounder with broccoli and orzo rice. We didn't wait too long before our food was ready. Everything was rather salty, even the broccoli. At least the cheddar bay biscuits were good, but it's hard to mess up biscuits. I wasn't a big fan before this visit, and I can't say I'm one now either. Overall, Red Lobster is simply okay at best. I'll stick to locally-owned seafood restaurants, gift card or no. read more

I had not been to a Red Lobster in about 20 years. Now I remember why! The place is simply horrible. Here are some random observations. * Inadequate draft beer selection. The usual, Bud Lite Miller Lite etc etc. They need to add a dozen offerings. Not one IPA. * SLOW service and they purposely make you wait for a table for at least 20 minutes hoping you spend money at the same bar that has Inadequate offerings. * ALL the food was bad and miniscule portions. Even the free cheddar biscuits that used to be good are now mediocre. Bad mushroom appetizer, bad lobster bisque, bad stuffed flounder. We hadn't been to RL in a while and went on a whim; we were promptly seated (and the hostess was very nice about giving us a booth because my partner had recent back surgery ;-) Ordered drinks, served quickly along with THOSE BISCUITS. We arrived on a Monday at 11, when they opened. Our kids were in school and my husband had a day off. So we took advantage of the free time. I was skeptical at first because the only other time I had been to a Red Lobster it wasn't the best experience (Kenwood Location). This location was much nicer and it was clean. We was the first customers there then a few small groups of elderly folks came in. The staff was more than accommodating to their requests, it was nice to witness. We ordered the bottomless shrimp. With mine I had the loaded baked potato, my husband had fries. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come out but I knew it was probably because of my baked potato being made (the restaurant had just opened). For my initial shrimp I asked for both to be coconut, they was coated perfectly and the shrimp was thick. The Pina Colada sauce was phenomenal and went so well with the shrimp. The baked potato was cooked perfectly too. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp scampi and Walt's favorite for his initial order. He said the garlic was perfect, not an overly powerful garlic flavor. The waitress kind of disappeared for a while after we received our first plate. We was getting annoyed having been there for an hour and not receiving any second serving of shrimp but, we assumed she must have been busy because there was one other waitress there (taking orders for 2 of the groups while our waitress also had two groups and one man), the host (whom was staying busy) and 2 employees in bar attire (not doing anything). Once she returned she stayed focused on our needs and this solidified it for us that she had to of been extra busy. A good meal and nice service! Friday night date night with my kiddo and she wanted to take mom to Red Lobster (thanks grandparents).... I had never been to this location so went in with an open mind. 20 minute wait although their app said 5 minutes. Literally half of the tables were unseated so I'm really unsure why we had to stand in the lobby for so long. But, we did. Once seated, our server was so kind the whole time and repeatedly mentioned his own kiddos; he clearly has a heart for family. Everything came out timely and was good! Biscuits are what they are, amazing. The pick two shrimp with scampi and fried shrimp really hit the spot, it was a nice sampler and I took home several shrimp. Salad was fresh, probably would pass on the mashed potatoes next time. Kiddo ordered Mac and cheese with fries. Fries are actually pretty good but I think the Mac is Kraft. If so, it drives me nuts when restaurants serve this. We don't want Kraft for 5.99 when we eat it once a week at home for $1. Our server comped us a kids sundae that was devoured in no time! First of all the biscuits were outstanding they felt like little angel pillows from heaven so savory. We ordered the ultimate feast that included two premium dishes and two classic dishes. We both got the same thing lobster tail and cheddar Bay shrimp, which was new and we devoured it. This was the best experience that I've had at red lobster they even told us that they kill the crabs before they boil them, but they said dispatched, the mayo slapped, and if we go back again, we will ask for Joe. He was amazing and he gave us an extra biscuit to go. The good thing was the restaurant was not very busy and the waiters had all the Time in the world to wait on his head and feet. We went on a Saturday night at 7:30pm and expected to find a mad house. We were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant in total control and not very busy. There was still a 45 minute wait but plenty of space at the bar so we opted for the bar. Ben the bartender was very good and attentive even though he was very busy. If the stuffed mushrooms had any seafood in them....I did not taste or see it. The lobster bisque was lukewarm at best. It was still quite tasty. The cheddar cheese biscuits never disappoint. I am pleased to say they were hot enough for butter to melt. I ordered the appetizer Coconut Shrimp for my entree. There are six in the order. The Pina colada dip is quite good. My husband had the Ultimate feast. It was just okay. Nothing was hot. The baked potato with the shrimp was very disappointing I would say keep your $3.99. I sent my sweet tea back. It just wasn't good. Our server was very friendly and efficient. We left her a 18% tip. The bathroom was being cleaned when I went in to wash my hands. We were not greeted when we arrived. We really enjoyed the experience here at Red Lobster. They have the clothes shrimp special and it's less than $20. There are about six different choices. The fiesta shrimp is fried in a crispy batter cooked with nacho cheese poured over it with diced tomatoes. I didn't like the taste. The garlic shrimp are juicy and taste great. Popcorn shrimp are kind of small and crunchy. Thre shrimp linguini has tini tiny shrimp in it. The sauce is great. They have an early dinner special each weekday, Friday being fried flounder. Went there about 3 weeks earlier and everything was quite good. Today, was a major disappointment :( Ordered linguini alfredo with lobster to go, which I've had numerous times previously. Late afternoon lunch. Promptly seated. Main dining room had a stale fishy smell that was unpleasant enough that I considered leaving before we even ordered. I wish we had. Apps were ok. Dinner was very uneven. My shrimp was tasty, but my broccoli was just short of uncooked. Another in our party had tough inedible shrimp, good salmon and broccoli that was so over cooked our server brought another serving without us even asking. She noticed how badly it was prepared. I never had Red Lobster, and my boyfriend was telling me that I should at least have it once because of all the rumors saying that it's going to go out of business. I'm also a hugeeee seafood lover, so it kind of made sense to go here. Okay, I have to admit, the famous biscuits are so dangerous. They came out hot, buttery, and flaky--yum! I was surprised because they're also bottomless--my boyfriend and I had to refuse our server multiple times because she was so nice about asking to refill. DAT TEMPTATION THO. Boyfriend got a pound of snow crab with a side of melted butter, and honestly, if I could reorder, I'd rather have had that. Don't get me wrong, my food was awesome, but I did NOT know that melted butter could make snow crab (which tastes fantastic alone), taste that good. I had the bottomless shrimp (grilled skewered shrimp, parmesan shrimp, hand battered fried shrimp). They weren't joking when they said bottomless--again our waitress was really good about keeping my plate full; she'd ask and bring out more even before I was done, even though I already thought my stomach was going to explode. The parmesan shrimp was kinda greasy (even though it was good), and the fried shrimp was just grease overkill. Next time i'll probably get something else.
