Really great bowl of ramen! We were looking king for noodles on New Year's Day and found Osaka. So glad we stopped in. We ordered two Miso ramen and one Tan Tan. They were really tasty with all the right fixings. I really appreciated that the pork in the ramen was slightly seared which gave it a bit of a crunch and extra flavor I haven't seen often in ramen. I loved it! We also ordered two cucumber salads and one gyoza order. Delicious! We had Japanese green tea (hot), a soda and a lemonade. Service was friendly and efficient. The interior is tastefully decorated. Nice, clean. They very effectively turned a strip-mall space into a to a small, intimate Japanese dining room. I even liked the bowls and the chopsticks! A former coworker of mine always raved about this place and even went at least once a week. So, I knew that, eventually, I'd have to check it out for myself. Was it as good as he said? Definitely! Excellent service, great food, and an atmosphere that looks like something straight out of Japan itself. My boss and I went on a Thursday to check it out. The place itself is rather small with only about six tables, but don't let that fool you, because what it may lack in size it makes up for in character and flavor. The menu features lots of tasty appetizers, ramen (of course), rice dishes, and soups and salads. No sake but that's okay because I was on the clock anyway. We started out with an order of gyoza, an order of shumai, and two green teas. Both the shumai and gyoza were cooked just right and delicious. As for our ramen, my boss got the seafood bowl and I got the shio (because I love bok choy). We didn't wait long at all before everything was ready and it really hit the spot. Hard to beat good ramen on a cold winter day. Overall, for the price, it was a really good deal too. If you've read any of my other reviews, you likely know what I'm gonna say next, and yes, I'm likely gonna visit here again sometime with my lady because I know she'll enjoy it too. This it's a quick and easy dinner in option. Not too busy and take out is available. I wouldn't normally spend that kind of money on ramen, but it's good.I guess it's the new fad. My friend has Katsu, which I was unfamiliar with. She let me try and I think it was better than my seafood choice. The seafood was good as well. Ate lunch here with a friend today, the dining area is small but very cute! I had the chicken teriyaki bowl and my friend had the curry bowl, both were nice portions and tasted delicious and fresh. Our server was very nice and attentive. This is a hidden gem for sure. I'll be back when the weather gets colder for the ramen. 3.5 stars! I had a hankering for some ramen since it's been getting colder and found Osaka ramen house! Yelp and Google ratings were pretty high so this was where we chose to go. First off, I want to just put out there that I'm from Socal and have had a lot of good ramen as well as Ramen from Japan. So my taste buds could be very different from the locals. Anywho.. we ordered the karaage, gyoza, and tonkotsu ramen. The karaage was pretty good! I know each establishment has their own recipe for karaage and I really enjoyed this one. It was simple, but still juicy and flavorful. Gyoza was good, nothing too crazy there. I thought the Tonkotsu ramen was good, it satisfied my ramen craving, but it wasn't anything super amazing. The broth wasn't as rich as I would like, but it felt light. The chashu was very different from what I'm used to- it looks like they seared it first which I found interesting, but it was a nice additional texture. The restaurant itself is super cute and has such a vibe which I love. Service was great and timely - I definitely will come back here to try their other ramen. read more

Favorite pick-up location for excellent Japanese food to go. My go to menu item is the Tan Tan Ramen and I love that I can customize the order by adding more bok choy and removing a couple of items that I don't care for. I will say that I can never eat all of the ramen noodles in one sitting, so if you like carbs- this is your place!! The dining space is rather small, but intimate and the wait staff keep the food running at a good pace. The restaurant is tucked away in a small strip center adjacent to Beechmont Avenue. Blink and you might miss it! Look for the nearby Subway and Dairy Queen as sign markers to lead you to Osaka. read more

After our first several visits, I thought Osaka Ramen House had to be the best restaurant in the history of Anderson Township. (We've been in town for only 15 years, so I say that half-facetiously. But only "half.") Truth be told, that's probably not a very tall order, and if you've spent much time dining out in Anderson Township, you probably know what I'm talking about. But those were five-star visits by any measure: Tonkatsu ramen, seafood ramen, and Tan Tan ramen were some of the best bowls of broth/soup/stew I've had in any Cincinnati-area restaurant. I'm admittedly kind of an ignorumus when it comes to ramen. Over the decades, I've had hundreds of bowls of pho, though, and was always puzzled when ramen freaks said ramen is even better, because that hadn't been my experience. Of course, they're apples and oranges, but the bottom line is that Osaka's stuff really opened my eyes about ramen: deeply flavored broth, and that tonkatsu had *three* different types of pork that were all very different and deliciously prepared. Really superb. And only 11 or 12 bucks at the time. The appetizers at Osaka have been excellent as well. The gyoza here are probably the best dumplings of any sort I've had in the Cinci metro. But things have dropped off noticeably in the last couple of visits. As Covid has waned, the tiny restaurant has become more crowded, yet the staff has gotten smaller. The single server on duty (she's working the register and doing takeout, too) has been frazzled. That's understandable; it's happening everywhere in this chaotic post-pandemic economy. But the food has slipped a bit as well. The last couple of bowls of ramen haven't been nearly as good as those first three. The broth isn't quite as rich, and some pork has disappeared from tonkatsu. So I'll average it out to a solid four stars for now. Hopefully things will sift out in the coming months and Osaka will return to the greatness it had over 3 or 4 visits for us. All that said, Osaka Ramen still might be the best restaurant in the history of Anderson Township. read more

I had an overall good experience here. I know I will frequent this place more in the colder months. I am SO happy with the fact that they serve potato croquettes here and it doesn't have meat. From what I saw, it only had potato, onion and a little bit of carrots. It came out so fresh that it was worth burning my tongue over. The chicken katsu curry was good but I definitely had to add a lot of spice to get it to the level of heat that I want. Overall it was nice and mellow. I know next I'll try to see if they have pickled ginger for me to add to the curry. It went amazing with the potato croquettes. The chicken ramen was good but I definitely had to add spice to it. Lots of spice. I am sensitive to pork from time to time so I am glad they had a chicken broth ramen available but it was definitely on the more mellow side. If that seems to be the spice level that they are going for, I can't really knock them for it. I'm just glad there were options such as chili oil and this spicy powder that was on the table to bring it to my preferred level of heat. Overall good experience, will definitely be back. read more

But we were dying of hunger, and looking down the barrel of a five hour concert at Riverbend, and we had been dying for some good Ramen. Yelp led us this place and we were not disappointed. We were greeted immediately, and seated promptly. Our drink order was quickly filled, and our main order was taken. We had a hot steaming bowl of Ramen less than five minutes after we ordered. I've had a lot of Ramen, and this was excellent. They did not skimp on the extras. Slices of seared pork belly, mounds of sprouts, a perfect portion of noodles, and the most delicious broth I've had in a while. Soak me in a tub of this, and I would be a happy woman. Even though it is located in a small strip mall among all the other millions of things on Beechmont Ave, if you go anywhere to eat, it should be this place! I have been dying to go back since I finished my meal and cannot wait to try ALL the other menu options! I arrived on a yucky rainy and cold evening because whats better for that than a hot bowl of soup?! I opted to place an order for take out as there were quite a few people dining in. The restaurant is small, but somehow still has plenty of seating. There is a large bench to wait for your table or your takeout order. I was greeted by a friendly woman who took my order and let me know it would be ready asap. I love the decor and how bright it is there. For my food I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen. When you do takeout they put the broth in a separate container for you. I liked this procedure. The broth alone was amazing. I truly could have just eaten that with nothing in it because it was so savory and rich. Each of the ingredients in the bowl were so flavorful.. especially the pork and the hard boiled eggs. I dont know what they do to those eggs, but they were to die for. The only thing that did not have flavor on its own was the ramen itself. As a side (although it could make for an entire meal in itself) I got the Osaka fried rice. The rice was done just right and not greasy at all. Each protein included in it was cooked perfectly and not overdone. I have to say there was a uniqueness about this rice that really sets it apart from any other ive ever had. An adorable little spot tucked away in a strip mall in Anderson Twnshp. I have a thing for eating ramen on rainy days, and this was one of my favorite finds because the restaurant is so cozy, so cute, and so comfortable (comforting!). Loved everything about the presentation and decor. I'm still learning which style of ramen I like best. I leaned heavily on some Yelp reviews and got the Shio. I also tried my SO's Chicken Katsu ramen. I think I prefer mine because of the pork belly. Next time, I'll try the Tan Tan. We also had the edamame. They were fine. Maybe a little too salty. they have done an absolutely amazing job of transforming an old carry-out Chinese spot into a really good-looking ramen noodle shop. It looks like and feels like factual composed sit-down restaurant with tights eating and a small set of booths. This is where you come in make new friends, sit next to strangers, and enjoy a warm bowl. I tried both the seafood and the chicken katsu ramen, as well as a few appetizers and salads. The seaweed salad was way overdressed and had a bit of a fishy flavor, while the house salad was just about perfect with the dressing on the side. The shrimp dumplings were tiny, and relatively under stuffed. There was a good amount of them for an appetizer price, but I wasn't a fan of any of the flavors. The spring rolls were extremely overcooked and very hot, with no real delineation between those or any frozen mass market spring rolls. But the ramen! That is why you come to a place like this. Fortunately the ramen was.... pretty good, the broth had good flavor, there were plenty of fresh vegetables and a large amount of noodles. The noodles did not have a very good flavor on their own, but did a good job of absorbing the liquid around them. The chicken katsu was one of the best pieces of fried chicken I've ever had, light and crispy, with a crunch they surprisingly held up well in the soup. the seafood was... Kind of disappointing in the quality of the meat. It was basically imitation crab and tiny scallops. Although I'd asked for extra of each to make up for now shrimp, the amount of meat still seemed to be less than what was in the katsu, and I had to pay extra to add an egg. But the egg was worth the money for sure! All told Osaka Ramen House is a great addition to the east side, and I look forward to returning as the weather necessitates some serious soup, but I'll probably skip the appetizers and stay with the katsu instead of seafood. read more
