My friend and I came for lunch on the weekend. We split the karaage and I got Tonkotsu ramen. The broth here is rich and creamy and they let you customize your spice level. They even give you extra chili oil on the table to add in if it's still not spicy enough. This is one place that I would say finally give you enough noodles! The karaage was crispy and seasoned well. I went here for a quick lunch and it was amazing. I have only been to a handful of ramen restaurants throughout my life, I tend to make my own being a poor college student. This place was far above what I was expecting. I was seated immediately and there were a few tables in there, nothing too crazy though. The server gave me a menu and water right away and let me figure out what I wanted. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and added an extra egg to it, I love the soft boiled eggs in any ramen, and a spice level of 1. After ordering my food came within ten minutes. It was astonishingly fast. It came out hot and looked so good. The eggs were perfectly soft boiled, the pork was tender, the broth was flavorful and the perfect level of spice. The noodles were super good and all together it was a great bowl. The portion sizes were huge so I took the rest home for leftovers. My server checked on me often and was very attentive. She offered dessert but I was way too full. The service was super fast, I was probably in there for just over 40 minutes in total. Hubby and I both ordered tonkotsu ramen. He added spicy 1 and pickled ginger. I added spicy 1 and corn. It was so good! We've tried so many greater Cincy ramen places and this one is by far our favorite. The broth is very rich and luscious and the spicy 1 is just enough spice. I'd love to try the create your own next time with katsu chicken. Will be back! read more

I have been quietly enjoying this underrated gem without giving it proper credit, but I thought I would finally write a review. Their tonkotsu ramen is fantastic with that rich, creamy broth, jammy boiled eggs with ideal yolk consistency, and noodles that maintain just the right bite. The pork practically melts apart at first touch, and they nail the spice levels better than most. I raved about this local ramen stop after our first stop -- but a service mistake and an incorrect order (not vegetarian) make us hesitant to go back. For my first visit, five of us dined in. Everyone loved their ramen. The veggie gyoza was a highlight -- so flavorful and crispy. The waitress was helpful when it came to creating a Build Your Own Ramen bowl that was vegetarian. So delicious! Unfortunately, our takeout order a few weeks later was not so good. The cashier had our food ready, but said she'd accidentally charged a previous customer for our order. She was confused on what to do. My husband suggested he pay in cash for the cost of our food, then she can sort out a refund to the other customer later. Simple, right? Not to her. She was so overwhelmed by confusion that she left my husband (and our food) waiting at the register for more than 15 minutes. Once home, I noticed my "vegetarian ramen" didn't look the same as last time -- and the stomach problems that followed for two days tell me they gave me a meat-based broth (or similar non-vegetarian mistake). read more

5 stars for the Tonkotsu alone!! I add black garlic oil & the spice level 1 (on the side) & it's my favorite ramen spot in the Cincy area so far. I've only had it twice but I think it's really fantastic. I love their Menma (bamboo shoots) & also get extra. It's worth the 20 minute drive. The ramen is also always out quick. We had lunch on a Wednesday. The atmosphere was lovely, except the seats are wood and very hard. The service was efficient but benign. It just wasn't our favorite ramen place. Absolutely delicious ramen place in Blue Ash. The place itself is super cute, clean, and modern. It has a nice skylight at the front of the building that lets in a ton of natural light. The tables and chairs are pretty and look nicely constructed. There's an awesome large mural that takes up the entire back wall. My colleague and I were greeted upon entering and sat at a table. It was about 2 pm and there was no one else there. I feel like the woman who helped us was the owner. She was super kind and answered all of my questions about menu items. I was torn between unagi don and their terrapanteriyaki which I believe is newer on the menu. She suggested the teriyaki dish, which I got. It was just steamed rice, carrots, broccoli, scallions, meat, and either brown sauce or teriyaki sauce. I got it with steak and no carrots. When I tell you this was the most tender cubed steak I've had in a while! I was super surprised because usually small pieces of steak tend to be over cooked. This was not! It was perfectly seared and moist inside. The veggies were nicely grilled and the whole dish was hot. It came out quickly. I did end up asking for an extra side of teriyaki sauce to add to my rice since there wasn't much once I got to the bottom. The extra sauce was perfect. I was pretty full but couldn't stop eating this delicious meal. I also got a hot green tea which tasted good delicious. My friend did a build your own ramen bowl. She raved about the broth so I gave it a try. Very flavorful and creamy, which felt unlike most ramen broths that are thin and watery. The flavors inside this one were phenomenal. I'm not usually a big fan of ramen (I prefer Pho) but I would definitely return for that broth. Rokaru Ramen is absolutely delicious, quaint, and beautiful. read more

We tried Rokaru Ramen at element eatery this weekend and enjoyed it! Beware the spice levels are no joke. We can generally handle the heat but the 1 was enough for us! It was a little difficult to read the menu, we didn't know what some of the ingredients were and had to ask. The tofu was steamed and in very small bits. The veggie broth was flavorful and the veggie came with corn, bamboo shoots and tofu. We added mushrooms. Not sure how it is at the kenwood location but at element eatery the spoons Rokaru have just barely held the noodles and broth making it difficult to eat. Overall delicious food , just some minor logistics with menu and plasticware that could help! read more

From order to eating was 5-10 min max, super fast! I enjoy the quality control of this place over so many others. Egg perfect soft boil, color, and seasoning. Found a pretty authentic ramen place in Blue Ash. I love the decor and items in the restaurant that brings back memories of being in Japan from the vending machine to the Japanese condiments on the table. The service was prompt and my food was delivered via a robot. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen with a side of spring rolls. The ramen noodles were a little overcooked but the broth was delicious. Took one star off because the protein in the BYO was embarrassing. I ordered shrimp tempura for 2.50 and only got one piece. I would expect for that price AT LEAST 2 pieces, if not 3-4. My friend ordered tofu for 2.00 and got barely any, probably only 50 cents worth at most. They should reconsider the amount of protein they are including, or at least specify how much is being provided on the menu so customers aren't surprised when they get less than expecting. Otherwise, the experience was fantastic. The food was hot and came out quickly and the atmosphere is nice. Both the tonkontsu and veggie broth were flavorful and hearty. There were plentiful noodles. The marinated eggs were delicious. I will definitely be back, but refining my order. read more

We visited on a Monday during dinner rush and every table was occupied. Once a table was cleared we were promptly seated be a courteous staff. This fun atmosphere has action figures behind the counter, counter seating and a server robot. The have many options with large portions. Our group got the Mazesoba and the Chicken Katsudon. The Katsudon came with a starter soup, can't remember the name but completely yummy. Very swift service in a charming atmosphere. Will definitely return. The food here is so great. I came here a long time ago to get dinner and I was served by the best waitress ever. I can't remember her name but she was great, the only employee there and unfortunately the other customers were demanding her of so much but she took it like a champ and I was very impressed. My daughters and I dropped in to order make our own ramen and boba drinks. We were incredibly impressed with our to-go order, from prompt and kind service to the packaging and taste. We cannot wait to go back and eat inside the restaurant. My daughters saw the serving robot and loved the ramen and boba artwork on the wall. I love this restaurant has soy sauce salt which I've not found in stores or at other ramen houses. This seasoning adds even more flavor to these already delicious bowls! I loved that they had a skewer menu, something I have not seen in the ramen shops I visited. The waitress was not terribly familar with some of the items, but was more than happy to find the answers. I was disappointed that my bamboo shoots were absent in my ramen bowl, I had the spicy tonkatsu. My daughter loved the fried agashi tofu and my husband enjoyed his spicy miso. We both agreed the noodles were quite nice, little snap to them and not too soft. Double check your bill - we had to ask for a removal of an item that never made it.

The whole concept is incredibly efficient; you place and pay for your order at a kiosk, watch your food being prepared right in front of you, grab it when it's ready, and clear your own dishes when you're done. The system runs smoothly and keeps everything moving fast without feeling rushed. Our food came out in under 10 minutes and was hot and delicious. We ordered the Curry Bomb Tonkotsu along with soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. Everything was fresh, and packed with flavor. We like a little extra heat, so we added chili oil to the soup and it took it to the perfect spice level for us. Quick service, great quality, and a fun, modern dining experience. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. It's also the perfect stop before heading over to explore Jungle Jim's International Market next door. Easy 10/10.
