Lomo Sataldo
Jason H.

First time trying Peruvian food! The overall flavor of the Lomo Sataldo was great and I especially liked the onions and tomatoes but really wish the quality of the steak was much better. It was a bit tough and chewy to be honest. Counter service was friendly and the overall vibe is super simple and spacious. Not sure if Peruvian cuisine is just very basic or the steak quality was just missing but the overall experience left me feeling less than satisfied and secretly wishing it had been better...

This location is nearby Harmon's. I have always been able to find a parking spot in front of the restaurant. You do usually need to wait 15 or so minutes for your food here but it is worth it! My favorite dish is the Pollo Lomo Saltado. It is very flavorful. It has a lot of vegetables and the rice and fries are delicious. I love the green sauce that it comes with. They didn't have fry sauce but they were able to give me ketchup and mayonnaise to make my own. I didn't like that if you want napkins or extra forks etc you need to ask for it. I love that the restaurant is big and open. My family and I really enjoyed coming here to eat and we will be back!

They don't mess around here! This food is delicious. I love Peruvian food and no one does it better than Red Fuego. The Lomo Saltado was great. The fries were crispy and the veggies charred perfectly. I loved the pollo bowl. Wow. I'd come back again and again for that! Chicken is seasoned and cooked well. And I'm pretty sure they put at least a half of a very large avocado on there! Bravo!! Yuca was good. Maybe a little under seasoned but very yummy still. Will definitely be back here!

First time at Red Fuego and can't wait to go back! It's my new favorite. Interior/ambiance - 5. It's very spacious and the interior is lovely. Food - 5. The lomo saltado is fresh and delicious, everything down to the rice was perfectly cooked. Loved the chicken as well, it's so nicely flavored. For sides I ordered the sweet potato fries and plantains. Can recommend both. My favorite thing is the aji verde sauce! It is to die for!

We tried Red Fuego tonight for the first time! We ordered the 1/4 chicken plate and the fuego bowl. The chicken plate came with two sides so we got black beans and sweet potato fries. The fries were very good! They were cooked very well and were crisp on the outside. The black beans were average. There wasn't a ton of flavor and we wouldn't get them again. Nothing special. The chicken was very tasty! It was cooked to perfection. It was juicy and tender. The only negative was it really wasn't that big compared to other places where I've gotten a 1/4th. The fuego bowl was good but there wasn't much chicken. However, it was filling and good. We got the green sauce and it was very complementary of the chicken flavor. The atmosphere was modern and tasteful. The service was good and our food was ready in a timely matter. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely one of my new favorites and apparently I'm not the only one! A friend of mine took me a couple of months ago and I was blown away. The menu is actually quite simple, but everything is done to perfection and with a really unique twist that gives it its own Peruvian style. I wish they sold their special sauce in bottles. I think that you could put it on shoe leather and still have a great meal. I also want to give a shout out to the manager. Last time we went I ordered takeout. Upon getting home I realized that there was a fairly significant problem with our order and I called back just to let them know. They kindly remade our entire order made everything right and with absolutely no hassle. I really appreciate such excellent customer service.

Good Peruvian place. Their food has great seasoning. Their lomo saltado has too much onion and tomato for my taste.

The rotisserie chicken was so juicy and had so much flavor. I loved dipped it in the green sauce. I also enjoyed the Peruvian friend rice and all of the flavor that came with it. The fries were also homemade, crispy, and not super oily at all. The beef was seasoned great and had a lot of good flavor. Everything was super flavorful and tasty. It looks like they are expanding so I hope they make it a nicer interior! Overall, I will be back and I definitely recommend!

The flavors were perfect, the vegetables were well cooked and bright in color, the fries were good, and the rice was delicious. The only problem was that the meat was really tough, like, hurt my jaw to chew, tough. My husband had the 1/4 pollo a la brasa. It was well cooked, still moist, and well seasoned. The fries were pretty limp though. I ordered a side of fried ripe plantains and they were delicious. They were perfectly ripe and cooked all the way through with the right caramelization. Service was really lacking. They have "Help Wanted" signs and they really needed the help. It took about 20 minutes to get the entres and another 10-15 minutes to get the plantains and drinks. The floor and the tables were dirty. Hopefully they'll be able to hire help soon.

For food, the calmari frita it was called but it was squid, some kind of white fish, shrimp along with fried, thinly sliced red onion, bell pepper and jalapeño. GET THIS, one of the best things of the night! When you do get it, make sure you get bites of the chopped veggie mixture that's buried under all the fried goodness, thank me later. Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.

Red Fuego I visited…read moreRed Fuego at Traverse Mountain after hearing several good recommendations, so I arrived with fairly high expectations. When I got there, the restaurant was clean and well organized, and there were not many customers at the time, which made the atmosphere feel calm and relaxed. The service was average. It wasn't unfriendly, but it also wasn't particularly warm or memorable. I ordered the arroz chaufa, and in terms of flavor I have to say it was very tasty. The rice itself had great seasoning and a really nice flavor. However, the dish was a bit disappointing because it was almost entirely rice--the chicken was practically nonexistent. For a dish like this, you expect a better balance of ingredients, and unfortunately the main protein was missing. Sadly, this made the overall experience not the best, especially considering the positive recommendations I had heard before visiting. I hope they can improve the consistency of their dishes and the proportion of ingredients, because the flavor of the rice shows that the kitchen has the potential to deliver a much better experience.
