Good coffee drinks and yummy baked goods. Nice little coffee and breakfast spot on Walnut Street.

Where do I begin? I've been here a few times, I'm actually sitting here right now as I type this out cuz my frustration is building. Let me start by saying, I'm a waitress, at an extremely understaffed restaurant. If any one understands long wait times and a little bit of a frenzy during busy hours... it's me. I sit here on a Sunday morning dead smack in the middle of brunch hours. There's honestly no line, it's pretty relaxed. A couple people waiting for indoor seating but plenty outdoor seating that's first come first serve. My boyfriend and I walk in to 3 girls behind the counter (one making coffee and the other two I guess taking names) I dunno what kind of bad day they're both having at 10:30 AM but we were greeted with smug faces and the most unenthusiastic attitude. They told us to grab menus and seat ourselves outside and someone would come over to us. We sat at the table literally right outside the door, waited 10 minutes until my boyfriend went inside to order. Our order : one iced dirty chai, sweet scramble and breakfast burger medium rare. Waited another 20 minutes until we both realized I didn't get my drink. I go inside asking if the drink is ready , barista grabs it out of a fridge.....????? I proceed to ask "oh was I supposed to come in to grab it? And she says "no we thought it was an Uber order sorry" ..... ok??? Wait another 20 mins (so 40 mins total) for food which Honestly doesn't bother me, as I can sit across from my handsome boyfriend for hours and starve. I swear by the sweet scramble and THIS is why I come here. It's always good. But my boyfriend's medium rare burger was VERY well done. Like well done to the point it looks gray in color. And the bacon they use in the jam was burnt to a crisp (black in color). You don't give a man who runs red lights a well done burger. We didn't really want to wait for new food (not that a waitress ever came out to check on us anyways) so he sat there with his head down and finished it. We sit for ANOTHER half hour as we're simply just enjoying eachothers company, and realize this is the moment we can totally skip the check cuz not one person in an hour and a half has Checked on us. But my boyfriend is a much more honest individual than myself. Paid up and still tipped 20% on literally no service aside the food runner. Oh, also in the hour and a half sitting here, the table across the side walk from us has yet to be bussed. A plate of eggs and two drinks just sitting there attracting bugs. Now, will I return? Probably. Mostly due to trying to learn the sweet caramelization of onions on the sandwich I enjoy, so I can then recreate at home and not have a reason to return here. And to clarify, Not cuz the food is bad, the staff and service just sucks. Which is sad cuz they seem to hire attractive people, which is nice to look at, until you realize their lack of personality, which is necessary in the food industry. Some advice, try smiling maybe. UPDATE: we walked past red eye two hours after we left and not only were our plates still on our table, but the eggs were still on the table across from us... gave us a laugh. Maybe demote one of your waiters to bussers, that way they have an excuse not having to talk to customers. read more

This place has the best dirty chai I've had in a LONG time. Going here is always a treat. When I come for a meal the service can be slow, but the food is always good so my advice is just to plan accordingly if you're on a time crunch. read more

Very cute little spot! We stopped in for a post dinner coffee and dessert. The coffee was served in giant Friends style cups, and was delicious and plentiful. The deserts were tasty-- we had a banana bread, a Blondie sundae, and a cup of ice cream. All were nice, and enjoyed by the table. The vibe of the restaurant is awesome, cute and eclectic, very chill. It's a great spot for a date. There are also local artists who are featured on the walls, and those make for fun conversation. I'd recommend, it was a great experience. read more

Was very disappointed with my experience at Red Eye Cafe. We came early on a Sunday at 10 AM so we can go home and catch the 1 pm football game on a timely manner. However, our food came over an hour later, which is really ridiculous for some eggs and pancakes. I had to have them reheat my latte because they took so long. We ordered french toast, choco chip pancakes, and red eye hash. DO NOT GET THE PANCAKES. They were legitimately horrible. I don't know how you can mess up choco chip pancakes, especially when you're a brunch spot, but this place managed to do so. NASTY. The french toast was average. My husband's red eye hash tasted weird. We are never coming back here due to the insanely long wait time and horrible food. read more

Small little Cafe with the waitress that is very attentive to small details. There are alot of family with little kids so get there early. They would take your order but would make sure to serve the kids their food first. The red eye hash was good and actual pieces. Not like the ones that look out of a dog can food read more

Solid cafe. The space is cozy but it could take a while for you to get sat on a weekend because it's pretty small. Dirty chai lattes are super yummy and dependable, hot or iced and the sweet scramble is super flavorful. Overall great place for breakfast or lunch. read more

I've been here a few times and the service has always been very attentive. The coffee and food are delicious, the portions big, and the prices just right. Most people come here for the breakfast, but don't skip out on the lunch items. I had a sandwich and it was very good! Parking, especially on the weekend, can be very hard since it's street parking only. Also, expect a wait on the weekends read more

I get that places are understaffed and at times overwhelmed due to Covid. But our attempted breakfast here never happened. Ordered coffee which took 15 minutes to arrive. We placed our order and 30 minutes later still no food. We asked one of our two servers what was happening he went to the kitchen came back and said they're plating your food now. 10 minutes later we asked to speak to the manager , he went to the kitchen came back and said your order is up next. We canceled breakfast, paid for our coffee and left. The restaurant was not crowded so it made no sense why it was such a problem. Epic failure on Red Eye Cafe's part. read more

It's very good food but very bad service. I ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches for pickup at 2 today. Woman on the phone says 15 to 20 mins. I show up at 2:20 and she checks in the back and says they're just finishing up. Ok no problem I assume she is correct that she checked that it's almost done. Another 15 mins go by and a different woman who I assume is the manager says the tickets never printed to the back and they're just starting to work on it. Who knows whether that's even true. She says sorry and "there's slim pickings in the pastry case if you want something". It really wasn't that empathetic, but at least she said sorry. I just want my sandwiches, not your cookies that have sitting been in the case all day. By the time I got the food, it was a whole 45 mins to make 2 sandwiches. And this isn't the first time with this place either. There was another time in the past where I ordered food for pickup that was extremely late and I had to threaten that I was leaving without my order to get my food made. They just really need to hear this so they can get it together because as I said, in all fairness, the food is very good. read more

Nice neighborhood place to grab a coffee and breakfast . Can be a little difficult to park in the neighborhood

I was really disappointed with my visit this Sunday for brunch. I felt that the restaurant service was very slow, and disorganized. If you are not in a rush, this is the place to visit. We ordered the french toast, grilled cheese, and fruit with granola. All of the food was good. We weren't given utensils, and our food took a very long time to come out. Towards the end, after the bill was paid for, we were not asked if we wanted boxes (we barely touched our food). We were in such a rush for an appointment. read more

Came in on a Saturday at about noon and found an empty table outside for two. We ordered two sandwiches (grilled chicken and a cuban), fries, candied bacon, and two lemonades. It took more than 30 minutes to get our food. The candied bacon was sweet and gooey but honestly I couldn't taste the meat. It took another 15 minutes to get our check and leave. The fries were crisp and the sandwiches were nice, but we waited so long for our server to come back with anything. Ugh. We're not coming back. read more

Stumbled upon this cute cafe while in Montclair today and I cant wait to go back! We walked in and were greeted by the smell of good coffee. After seating ourselves outside we got an oat milk caramel latte and mocha, both were amazing. Finally we decided on the Pesto Broccoli Scramble and Huevos Rancheros as our meals. I loved the creativity and flavor of the scramble sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed each bite of the huevos as well. At great prices for everything, I'll definitely be recommending this spot to everyone I know. A special thanks to the employee who calmly moved a bee that was at our table! read more

Wow there's a first time for everything... Yelp finally let me down. I was doing a college visit at MSU with my daughter and decided to show her Montclair downtown area. She wanted a coffee and a muffin and this place had the best reviews. All I can say is there was a huge wait, girl behind the counter with a huge attitude for no reason, coffee was mediocre, bakery item was dry and not very good. Maybe their other food Is better but the attitude did not make me want ti even try. I guess if I was not expecting anything good I would just have not been impressed but the fact this place has so many good ratings is sus. Just saying. read more

A quaint cafe with a modern hip vibe to it. Creative and good food. Space is small so not great for groups but great for an intimate get together. Parking is not easy in the area as it's residential. I had the waffle with fried egg sandwich and a side of fruits, which was very tasty. My cappuccino was not very good and I wouldn't order it again. My daughter had French toast, with candied bacon and a side of eggs over easy and a glass of OJ, she enjoyed all of it. Overall, I would come back and try other items on the menu. read more

I have been enjoying the Red Eye Cafe since it opened and it's still one of the best coffee/brunch cafes in New Jersey. Great place for dates or catching up with friends. I always look forward seeing the artwork for sale hanging up all around. My go to beverages are the sludge coffee with simple syrup and Mocha with whip cream. The staff is friendly. The menu has amazing breakfast and lunch options to choose from. If I had to pick, the tarragon salad, heuvos ranchero, 2 eggs with corn-beef hash, and the blue velvet are my preferred options. I wish they were still open during dinner time. Next time you are in Montclair, check it out... read more

Came here for brunch on Saturday with a group of friends, and I had a great time. They did not take reservations, but they told me to come about half hour early to put my name on the list if I wanted to be seated at a certain time. Thats exactly what I did. They called me within half hour and we were seated by a friendly staff member. I love the cozy atmosphere and all the decorations including the books along the wall. The food was phenomenal, along with the coffee. The green eggs and ham was definitely not the taste I was expecting, but in a good way. Definitely unique. The roasted brussel with candied bacon was great as well. I tried the blueberry pancakes which were also tasty. I loved that they did not rush us out of there even though it was packed. It was nice, relaxing brunch with friends with good food. Prices were on point. Metered street parking. There was a farmers market in the area that we were able to walk around while we waited for them to call us back. Great spot! read more

Perfect for brunchin! The place was packed at noon on a Saturday, but the emolyees were welcoming and the wait was short. We got the popular Green Eggs and Ham and it was delicious! My boyfriend claims he hates kale, but he ate the whole thing because of the flavors of onions and guyere mixed in. The hot cocoa was homemade and awesome. The vibes were warm and unique with the counter looking like a bar and decorated with books. Reasonable prices for delicious homemade food. read more

Brunch is the word. Beautifully decorated and tiny shop front. For a party of 5 there was a half hourish wait on the weekend. No reservations so go ahead to put your name down. Coffee was a highlight. They have some signature drinks to choose from. I had the vanilla latte. For brunch I shared an order of the brussels, Shitake Salad with side of fried eggs and the chipotle cheese sandwich. The salad base was dressed kale leaves topped with roasted almonds and mushrooms. The cheese sandwich was a nice combo of cheese and other latin flavors. Nicely paired with a side salad. I do not see it on their website so it must be a new addition. Lots of people were enjoying it as I looked around. read more

Heyyyy we have loved coming to you guys for years we came there Sunday sat down in a few minutes which was cool and then one hour and 10 minutes later still did not have our food!! We got up and left I have never done that in a restaurant in my life! Honestly we saw more takeout orders fly out the door then I could even count you guys have to get your stuff together with the takeout orders leaving before people that made the effort to drive to you and sit down and even wait as long as we did and not get served:((( I understand everything is difficult but there was no reason why literally 25 takeout orders went out and we were sitting there over an hour. read more

I used Red Eye as a coffee shop where I could sit and knock out a few hours of computer work, but this definitely seems to be more of a casual cafe eatery than a beverage stop. Fortunately, employees were happy enough to leave me to my furtive typing since there were a few other open tables for the dining customers. Full service, though I'm sure you could grab and go. My cafe au lait was perfectly made with a nice thick froth. There was a selection of muffins, biscotti, pumpkin bread and brownies in a display case up front. Menu items included breakfast egg sandwiches, fruit salad, and other assorted lunch sandwiches and salads. Everything sounded delicious, and others in the shop seemed very happy. Very laid back, clean and cozy shop. Tables were mostly for 2-4 people, though could easily be moved together for larger groups. I love the tiling along the walls, and even the bathroom matches the decor and is super clean. I'd definitely return to work, grab lunch, or read for awhile on an afternoon off. read more

Been coming here for a while now, always for coffee and always to go. The food looked excellent every time I would stay while waiting for my coffee to be prepared, especially on weekends. Well, I finally decided to come out and grab brunch here this sunday. The wait was only 10 minutes which is amazing as its usually 30 minutes to an hour at these times. I attribute it to the rain. There is a little breakfast nook with newspapers that you can read while waiting for your table. Be prepared to wait if its packed as people do not rush out here and take time to sit down to chit chat and enjoy their coffee and breakfast / brunch. I came in determined to get the french toast which is my go to and it looked amazing when I saw it here. Once seated they had the Pastrami Smoked Salmon on the specials which completely threw me off and that's what I ordered. We also ordered the Huevos Rancheros which were huge and very tasty. Will go for the French Toast or the Waffle next time. Also, don't forget their amazing selections of latte and coffee especially the sludge! They offer free WiFi so ask anyone for the password. read more

The Red eye cafe is simply dope! We had this spot on our radar for a minute. Then my boy Jeffrey S got ROTD, so mi lady and I finally decided to dine in red eye style! Get it....? Hahaha late dinner. Anywho, I felt a bit off as everyone recommends breakfast and brunch here. Lemme tell ya, dinner is amazing as well. The establishment is cozy, friendly and artsy! On to the food! Omg dinner was great. I felt a little dash of salt was needed seasoning wise, but hey it's better to add than not being able to eat it! - Lentil soup - very good. Enough lentils to fully get your bean on and added a dash of hot sauce to kick it up a knock! - Shrimp and Grits - AMAZING! The coconut curry flavors were flawless. At first the portion looks off, but this dish is fulling folks! I would eat this again for sure! - Carrot cake - sweet, moist and creamy! An awesome way to complete a meal. - Dirty Chai - a world of awesomeness! Get the medium. It's chai with a lovely shot of espresso. Paired well with carrot cake and was a lovely finisher to my night! Don't sleep on this spot for dinner folks. I can't wait to try breakfast and brunch. Hope you enjoy them well. *** side note *** they showcase local artwork every month, so the decor constantly changing which is think is hella cool. read more

I need to update my review - because I am totally, head-over-heels, "is this the real thing?" kind of obsessed with the Red Eye Cafe. Oh, but why? Let's journey to the past and take a look at the present. Early June 2012 - "Lizard, where shall we go, in order to fulfill our need for a lovely late breakfast OR early lunch, on this glorious 100 degree and humid summer day?" "Well, my head is pounding, I think there is this cool little spot that has mega-caffeinated beverages which will provide a sufficient mask for a hangover, AND some cool music to relax my nerves and ease my pain... I like! You will too!!!" ....to November 2012 - "Hello? Is it me your looking for?"... or perhaps, "Yes, love. The real kind of love, not the middle school crush kind of love. At last!....I fell, and you were there to pick me up, never break my heart!!! NEVER!" Hurricane holy-crap-we-got-bitched-slapped of Halloween 2012 was... well, horrendous. Not just for Trump or Pauly D. You know what the deal was (and for some, still is, unfortunately.) Power = gone. I got school, I got work, I got to eat... Red Eye, oh my god, they saved my life. I spent about 3 days here. I ate everything on the menu. I drank 3 or 4 different varieties of tea.. The cafe au lait they brew.. in a word, godly. I chose this place because, well, it just felt right. Like, it felt like I was in the comfort of my best friend's house growing up when my parents were outta town and I had to go *somewhere* I could totally trust, a place that would make me feel normal and human, and keep my sanity in check. If you do NOT go to the Red Eye Cafe, order a Fat Elvis, and try a hot Green Tea with a little lemon and a little honey.... you do not know heaven. You will never achieve nirvana. This soothed my soul. I can not thank these guys enough - they helped me out when I needed it. I was not going to sit around and attempt to study or read or do, um, ANYTHING, without modern day electricity and/or heat. No way, no how. And freeze, freeze my ass off...I would be in suspended animation right now, ready to defrost 12 days later, post-hurricane, post-blizzard. I may or may not be exaggerating with that last statement. The shrimp and grits, oh my good lord.... Some serious - serious - noms. I can bathe in those grits. Perfect - seasoning, the consistency..... mmmm... warmed my soul and made me feel SO much better... one of those meals that reminds you of that one time, your momma made you some food, when she knew you were feeling like crap, and it just put your whole body at ease... you wake up the next day feeling like a million bucks. Home-run, baby. Get it. TOTAL respect and mad love for the guys and gals here. Do it. Do it now! read more

I wanted soup and found this place in my bookmarks. I noticed this place was known for brunch, but the soup was a calling me. So we went around 8 or 9pm to get a soup and sandwich, but did not go as planned. Instead we ordered something completely different...dinner! I ordered the crab cakes and my boo has the shrimp and grits. The servers are very attentive and service is quick. I have to admit was not sure how dinner was going to be because everyone was ordering dessert and coffee, but I was very happy with meals and so was he. The crab cakes came with arugula, 2 crabs cakes, 3 slices of avocado and a lemon capers mayo sauce. the combination was awesome and I really enjoyed the meal. I normally dont like mayo, but the sauce was seasoned well that you could barely taste the mayo. The meal was filling to me and allowed some space for dessert. The crab cake was seasoned well enough that you could taste the crab and it was fresh. Now for my ohhhh sweet dessert...brownie melt and vanilla ice cream with whip cream. The brownie was warm so it allowed the ice cream to melt a little bit. The size was just right to fill my stomach and feel satisfied after a good entree. He ordered a carrot cake and dirty chai. The carrot cake was so moist and fresh. The restaurant has artwork for sale that changes from time to time with different artists that is cool. The place is cool and laid back...place to grab a coffee, dessert...read book or type a paper. I love the portion sizes because it allows you to eat a little bit of everything and not feel overly stuffed. I really enjoyed coming here! The brunch looks awesome, but its seems you can only have breakfast early in the day. Also parking sucks in the area, which makes it difficult to come at certain times of the day, but would be willing try. Definitely recommend this place!!! Bon Apetit!! read more

5 Stars for amazing atmosphere and service alone, not to mention the great food. Food: My friend and I shared the French Press Coffee and it was so good I drank it black. Quality coffee for sure! I ordered the Green Eggs and Ham with Egg Whites: Kale, Gruyere Cheese, Shallots, and Ham. Very tasty; perfect flavor. I really enjoyed the Multi-grain Bread as well. It also came with a lovely side of fruit: banana slices, pineapple, and melon (all my favs). My friend ordered the French Toast and it came topped with Whipped Cream and Strawberries, I tried hers and it had a fantastic texture. There was this yummy cinnamon flavor throughout. Service: I REALLY appreciated the laid-back vibe. We arrived around 9am and around 10am we saw the place starting to get busy, some people were waiting for a table. Usually when this happens at places the server comes around and throws the check at you, but the opposite happened here, we had to ask for the check (very European of them, love it). We felt no rush what so ever. Atmosphere: Stylish, chic, yet casual. Spacious feeling for a small place. The decor was appealing and the bathroom was nice. Very clean. I will most definitely will be coming here again. I want to try dinner here one night. read more

Intelligentsia coffee? Hip coffee infographics? Unique and delicious menu? Please, sir, can I have some more?! And here I thought all the good food spots in Montclair were on Bloomfield Ave. How wrong I was! My husband and I waited only 15 minutes or so for a table outside, which was pretty stellar considering it was a Sunday, felt like summer outside, and the whole cafe was packed. Our cappuccinos were perfect. They carried both almond milk and soy milk, which always garners huge bonus points from me. The flavor was full and delicious and the mugs were ginormous! I ordered the Red Eye hash, a combination of parsnip, sweet potato and corned beef hash with two fried eggs on top, all smothered in Red Eye gravy. I usually share my meals with my husband, because I can never finish a whole plate, but this time, the food was so good that I got territorial and when he came in for a forkfull I defended my plate from pillaging! I probably would have eaten two whole plates if you put it in front of me. I can't even remember what my husband got, mine was that good. Who cares? Just go. As soon as you can. Get anything off the menu. I'm confident that you could eat a pile of dust from this place and it would taste incredible. read more

Great local brunch spot in Montclair! The inside is small, cozy and inviting. They also open up a small section on the outside when it warms up. The outside seating is also nicely decorated with plants, chalk board walls and in between the brick exterior of the other building. They will tend to get pretty busy for brunch so there's a chance you may have a short wait, but usually nothing too bad! The cold brew sludge coffee is solid. If you're the flavored latte type, the iced caramel latte is delicious! It's still strong, has coffee taste and not overwhelmingly sweet. They have the little coffee bar as well, so you could always grab a coffee on the go. As for the food, I always get the highlander. This is a scotch bahn mi. It has hard boiled eggs fried with pork and shrimp sausage and spicy mayo on ciabatta. It is amazing! The ciabatta is extremely fresh, spicy mayo gives a great touch without overpowering it. The hard boiled eggs have a nice coating and are lightly fried. This combination is amazing and something you don't see every day. *dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso; super good!!! I loved this, it was smooth and slightly sweet, I would have wanted more spice out of it regardless I did like it); *café au lait (simple, coffee had a decent body) *salted caramel ice cream (the ice cream had a nice texture, definitely salted caramel haha, I don't like caramel but for those who enjoy that kinda flavor, this ice cream is definitely for them; props to them for making this quality ice cream and it being a homemade ice cream); *sludge coffee (cold brewed coffee with spices over ice; I liked this, it was super mild for me and I liked the flavor, not my favorite but it was still decent, I didn't taste much spice and not sure what spices I was supposed to taste, I'll take Starbucks' orange spiced coffee any day) Super cute cafe, very cozy, simple yet sophisticated, unpretentious; good service, I would totally go back; read more

This is a nice spot and good alternative/competitor to La Sabuen across the street. About the same size and different enough. I like the the large selection of warm beverages here that sets it apart. I got the hong kong style waffles with homemade ice cream. Quite good. Very sweet. Waffle could've been fluffier but it was a nice size. The vanilla chai latte was also very sweet, very creamy but didn't beat the Earl Gray latte I had at the above mentioned. I tasted the spinach omelette which was all parts good, tasty fruit and the omelette was cooked nicely. The service was good but the water wasn't very cold and they filled us up a couple times. The best part is it wasn't too expensive. Two drinks and the 2 breakfast entrees for under $30. Decent seating and not too long of a wait. read more

Red Eye Cafe.... I saw a good number of reviews, a significant portion of which were ravers. So I enlisted my lil crew to go and enjoy some Sunday brunch nice nice. First impressions: Very cozy and nicely decorated space. Not so large so I imagine that it could be tough on the impatient with a large party (Lots of those in this town). We were three and it took about 15 min to get seated. Not so bad.. I will mention however that there were tables ready to go along with a fair number of parties waiting in the front area (which is a bit cramped). The front door also opens IN so they lose a good 4 feet of space in this already cramped area. I am not hip to the town ordinances but if they could it may be a good idea to have someone reverse the door so that it opens out. One fella responsible for seating also worked the register and everyone else seemed to be oblivious to the bottle neck that was forming at the front. All you have to do is look up people. Rookie mistake, and these guys I KNOW are not rookies... Anyhoo, we were seated by a pleasant enough hipster kid and cracked open our menus. I would characterize the selection as interesting, adventurous and affordable. There were several items on the menu that I wanted to try. Since the Fat Elvis ($7) appeared to be the thing that folks talked about , Larisa ordered one. She likes peanut butta... Banana, peanut butter & honey on toasted multigrain served w/ choice of cabbage-apple slaw or side salad (Made FAT by adding bacon). I honed in on The Highlander ($10): Open-faced Scotch Egg Banh Mi: 2 hardboiled eggs fried in pork & shrimp sausage, with cilantro, pickled carrots & daikon, (spicy) sriracha and mayo on english muffin I am not really a fan of hard boiled eggs but the combination of elements peaked my interest. My daughter Maddy did the Sunrise Quesadilla ($9): Chorizo & queso fresco quesadilla served with 2 fried eggs, topped with mild tomatillo salsa (basically like a juevos rancheros breakfast). The food (in a word) was underwhelming. The Highlander while interesting and ambitious, lacked a fundamental element to tie the dish together. It came out looking interesting enough presented similarly to an Eggs Benedict without the hollandaise sauce. The eggs are coated and fried in a sausage like scrapple that is very good but there is too little of it and with out a sauce or a hash to compliment it, I felt it just fell short. Great idea, poor execution... The Fat Elvis was good enough but there was nothing special about it that made me feel like I needed to make a trip just to have it. I could have made it at home. The Sunrise Quesadilla had a flavor profile that to me was indistinguishable from Juevos Rancheros. I am a big fan of JR and this was mediocre at best. I HATE to give bad reviews and I really wanted to like this place but i have to call it as i see it. There is so much potential for this menu that I am willing to give it another shot. It just felt like someone lost their passion for the executional (made up word) flare that is needed to pull off what I feel is a really interesting and fun menu. I just wish someone in the back had some fun with it. This place could really be something. I am being generous with three stars because of its potential. And because I haven't had the pancakes or waffles yet. Maybe that will turn me around. I sure hope so. Meh... No Nom Nomz here... read more

The lattes and food are great! Love the service and outdoor seating ! Also, love the toffee nut cookie.

So I came here because my girlfriends wanted to grab brunch in Montclair. There's no parking lot but only street parking so beware to look for open spots wherever you can. Once inside the amazing auora of coffee hits you like a blast. There's decent amount of seating so you get seated fairly quickly. The servers kind of hover though (they asked us if we were ready to order three times and even gave us our check before we even asked for it..rude). Anyways, I ordered the omelet but they gave me the wrong one (i ordered bacon and spinach but they gave me ham and spinach), the toast was burnt and they didn't give us butter to go with it. I've definitely experienced better for $8. The one thing I did like was their tea, it was a little under $2 for this huge mug (i got their white rose).
