They also gave us bread with EVOO--it looked perfectly crusty on the outside and soft in the middle, and it tasted just as good as it looked! * Mains: I couldn't decide between lamb and salmon. We had a dinner around 8pm on Friday but the restaurant was not busy at all. It appears it used to be a cuban restaurant but v the owner changed and became a Mediterranean. The menu was very simple and it was a BYBO. We told our server that we wanted to share every dishes. We really liked the hot crusty bread served with a spread and it also tasted good with babaganoush. The pita bread was stale and burnt which came out with the babaganoush. The beet goat cheese walnut was refreshing. The fried calamari was crispy and went well with tahini based sauce. The lamb shishi kebob was tasty but the portion was very small and it was chewy. I came here for a party and I wanted to jump on here and give a review. I'm so surprised how this place has such a high ratings. We sat in the back. It seems so un kept. The floor was sticky and dirty. There was cob webs on the ceiling and things kept falling from the lighting. While sitting at our table. It was extremely cold and uncomfortable. Def not temperature regulated. We had apps on the table. Instead of being hot or warm they were cold. The shrimp had a weird red color to it like they were dyed. I would say the apps out of everything was the best out of this whole mess of a meal. Empanadas was salty but good. Shrimp over tostones was good although the weird red color. Steak quesadillas ICE COLD. But decent and a salad that mushy that I wouldn't touch.. We had four entrees to choose from steak with rice and beans, chicken with a spicy sauce, a mustard encrusted salmon with a fruit salad? Weird and a shredded pork We all got a different dish. The salmon was ice cold. Like right out of the frig. And the "sauce" tasted like apple sauce". And a fruit salad that had cantaloupe in it. I thought cantaloupe was recalled? I visited here with a group of 24 for a celebration on a Thursday night. We had the room in the back which was set up nicely. Parking was a bit of a struggle because it is only street cleaning. We ended up parking about 3 blocks away. We had a pre-fixe menu for our group. The waiters went around and informed us of our options for the main dish. The appetizers and desserts were family style. The restaurant is BYOB so make sure to bring your drinks. The appetizers were great! The flavor was perfect. The avocado salad - OMG I have no clue what they added to it but it was so good. The appetizers were decently portioned. The main entrees seemed to be hit or miss. Everyone had different opinions on their meals. I was one of the lucky ones who really enjoyed the churrasco. It was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The only downside is they did not give the chimichurri sauce until we requested it. That was also something that not everyone was fond of. The sides for the dinner were disappointing. The sides (rice/sweet potato) were family style and tiny portions that was not enough for us to share. I tried a tiny amount of the morro and the sweet potato. Both were good. The sweet potato had a kick of coconut which was odd but I kinda enjoyed it. Such a wonderful ambiance. Dim lighting, candles on the table. Very intimate. The service was great. This place is BYOB but they do provide wine. We ordered the Rosita wine with the Tropical Fantasy Sangria mix. It was very refreshing. A great pairing. The appetizers were amazing. Have mixed reviews that's a combination of yummy food and less than helpful service. Service - firstly, the parking situation is confusing and limited (I think). When I called upon arrival to get advice on parking, I was told there was "no parking". When I pushed about getting clarification about whether I could park in certain lots and was told that they were only for a condo, I managed to find street parking. When we arrived, they first sat us at a table directly next to a rowdy large party. We then asked to be moved, and they gave us a table inside the gazebo area, which was beautiful! Like why not seat us there from the get go? Next, we were told that it was a BYO establishment but that they sold bottles of wine. We specifically asked for a wine that was not sweet and was verbatim told "this is the opposite of sweet." Since their wine menu didn't list actual wine names - just vague descriptions we had to go with their advice. Well turns out, it was super sweet like a moscato. The server and manager both kept insisting that they had already opened the bottle and had to charge us, even though we were mislead. They ultimately turned it into a sangria, which they didn't charge us for which we appreciated. At least it was relatively edible. Note - just bring your own bottle if you intend to drink. The food was good. The guacamole, shrimp enchilados (though the shrimp was slightly over cooked), and salmon were good. Note that each entree comes with a rice, and you can choose the mixed rice so it has rice and beans . For a party of 2 people, they automatically added gratuity. Because of covid we decided to keep it small and intimate so we rented out the small room that fit around 12 people. We had our own space which was great! The space was cozy and cute. For private dining/ parties they have 3 different types of menus to choose from: a $35, $45 or $55. We decided to opted for the $55 menu and it was so worth it! The food was delicious. We got appetizers which were family style (empanadas, salad, and guacamole) then for the entree it was a la carte so everyone got their own plate. Lastly for dessert it was also family style but my favorite dessert was the flan! It was delicious. The meals came with appetizers guacamole with plantain chips, and tostones with shrimp, pico de Gallo, and empanadas the main course (choice of meat/fish -- options were churrasco, salmon, chicken, or lechón/Pork). They brought out sides for the table white rice, congris (Moro or black bean and white rice), and mashed yams. Lastly, but certainly not least they brought out desserts for the table. I came here Saturday night by reservation. I highly recommend making a reservation because when I called around 9pm to see if they had seats available the only time they had open was 10:30. The restaurant is beautiful. It's nicely decorated and a really nice spot to take pictures. It is a good spot to celebrate an occasion. We ordered shortly after being seated, but unfortunately had to wait about a full hour to get our food. They did provide bread and then plantain chips while we waited but at 11:15pm we really just wanted our food especially after waiting so long. Our waitress and another employee was really nice about the situation and assured us it was coming. At one point we thought maybe they forgot about us. When the food itself came it was okay. I'm extremely disappointed in my experience at Rebecca's for my daughter's first birthday party as I had high hopes in everything turning out great. There were so many aspects of things that were discussed that weren't produced in my event and the customer service from Sonya was terrible!!!! When first viewing the place to rent for my daughter's birthday Sonya was extremely unprofessional discussing how unhappy she was working at Rebecca's as she received new job duties and that she wasn't getting paid for the extra work. She talked about her plans to leave and continue about how unhappy she was to work there. Her attitude about her unhappiness of working at Rebecca's reflected poorly on her customer service the day of my event. When arriving at a restaurant to decorate, things that were discussed before the event wasn't set up correctly which delay the time of decorating for the event and made it that we were still decorating during the beginning of my event. She had breached the contract that we had. There were 2 packages for drinks of the event the 3$ per person or the 6$ per person. I had picked 3$ per person as I felt it fit better with my event. Sonya never gave my guest any drinks apart from my package. She didn't offer any drinks to my guest but was charging people for things that weren't part of my package. She was offering people drinks from 6$ package and charging me per drink that was ordered randomly. This had brought my bill higher than it should've been. This is extremely upsetting because not only did the majority of my guests didn't drink I got to be charged more for drinks when I shouldn't have. I got less for what I paid for and was SCAMMED! Another issue that I feel was extremely heartbreaking is she didn't allow my cake to be cut and told me that she won't be able to cut it because there are only 30 mins left to the event. I was never told a cutoff time to cut the cake or anything. If I was told a time I would've worked accordingly to that time which I was never provided. This had ruined my event because who doesn't cut a cake for a birthday and it's my daughter's very first birthday. I was so pleased with how the place was decorated and the style of restaurant which had led me to do my daughter's birthday here. I could've chosen any place to celebrate her birthday but I chose this place because I had such high hopes as it would be perfect. I did enjoy the food as it was delicious. My major disappointment for my event would have to be the customer service I experienced at this place. Sonya and the other female who worked with her were very rude and unfriendly. Sonya was very unprofessional and unorganized. She is in a role that she can't handle and it is reflecting so poorly on this restaurant. I wish guacamole has some tomato or some kind of red color, but it's still good. Salad with chorizo and chickpeas is also amazing. I usually don't like chorizo as I find them overly salty but their chorizo was chopped and wasn't too salty where I can actually taste and enjoy chorizo and went really well with the marinated chick peas. Deception is the reason why I wrote this review. I can understand their struggle post-pandemic, but I won't tolerate deception. Was here today for Mother's Day. I was disappointed but was not going to write this review of a restaurant likely struggling to bounce back post-pandemic, but felt compelled when I noticed that we were deceived more than once by staff. When we made the reservation over a week ago, we asked for outdoor seating. When we arrived, there was no outdoor space. It was a solarium type area in the back of the restaurant. At our request, a sliding door was opened and window across the way, but this was not the level of ventilation I was seeking. I wish that the restaurant had not misrepresented this information. When we received our check, we were not told that the tip had been added because we were deemed a "large" group. We were a party of 5 people, but our receipt indicates that we were a party of six. This seems intentional to justify the mandatory tip that was added. We did not realize that the tip was already included, and gave them another tip; they were double tipped. The inside of Rebecca's is really cute. It's classy, trendy, and contemporary and has a really nice outdoor patio area in the back for the summer. I had wanted to check this place out for awhile, so I was pretty amped when someone suggested it. We brought with us a nice bottle of wine for dinner, and something told me not to make sangria with it, but we were convinced otherwise. There are a few options for the sangria and we went with the first one. I have to say, I was really disappointed with the sangria! First off, they didn't even use real fruit. They used canned fruit. First time in my entire life I've ever had sangria with canned fruit. Canned peaches, and canned pineapples. Yikes. Overall service was okay, not great, but not terrible. Nothing I would write home about. When we sat down they gave us cold bread with butter (a bit of a pet peeve of mine...why can't you just heat up some bread?!) Anyway, we started with the cilantro shrimp which had a nice flavor profile. Tasty, but didn't blow my mind. Then we did the guacamole and plantain chips. The guacamole didn't have much flavor, a bit bland in my book, and the dish came with a ton of plantain chips. They were certainly premade, nothing special about them. For dinner, I had the coconut shrimp savannah with a side of coconut mashed yams. The shrimp was tasty and the coconut mashed yams were my favorite thing of the evening. I highly recommend them. For dessert, I asked for a cafe con leche and I definitely got a cappuccino. I was really looking forward to having a Cuban coffee at a Cuban restaurant so this was a bit upsetting. We got the beef empanadas for appetizers and they were delicious. They were piping hot so I knew that they were fresh. They were seasoned well also! The rest of my table ordered the jerk chicken, red snapper and a shrimp dish, and they enjoyed their meals as well. Also, this place is BYOB, FYI. They even provided us with an ice bucket for our wine which I appreciated. I really wish I could remember our waiter's name because he was awesome! So personable, attentive and very friendly. Come to think of it, we had pleasant interactions with all of the employees here. They are definitely all about customer service. This place has amazing food, service and ambiance. The pork, ropa vieja, and salmon (pineapple and mango) were all delicious. It is a BYOB which is awesome if you know that beforehand and bring a bottle. We didn't so we ordered a bottle of wine (it was late and they only had white wine left). We think it was spoiled so we returned it and they took it off the bill. My advice is to BYOB but if you don't then just forego alcohol. I wondered why this absolutely terrific restaurant didn't have a better rating because the food was delicious and after reading a lot of the reviews it's mostly because of other issues, not the food. read more

I read the reviews before coming to Rebecca's and my expectations were really high. However, I am so disappointed. Let's start from sangria. We found a little bug in our sangria, I did not make it a big deal but my husband got so disgusted and keep putting flashlight to check every bite of his food afterwards. Our waiter did not offer to change and give us a new sangria mix after we told him that we found a bug in it. However, in the end he told us he did not charge us for the sangria mix. I ordered churasco steak and it did it have any flavors at all. I expected it to serve with chumichuri sauce but our waiter told us they give chumichuri sauce if you ask for it. But he told us after we complained to him while paying the bill. My husband order shrimp meal and again his shrimps did not have any flavor at all. Server was friendly and nice. However, we got really bothered by the server stuff talking to each other really loud. Especially we were the only people sitting inside and instead of enjoying our romantic night we had to listen them chatting in their native language. It wasn't professional at all.
