    New total before cancellation

The delivery driver is the only bright spot about this company. Firstly I signed up an our Local Sam's Club. the representative was just that representing nothing but lies to get ppl to sign up. I spoke with customer support when the total i was told during sign up was doubled the following delivery. I was hung up on. When I spoke with someone else I told them to discon my delivery. I explained why and to get me to stay was offered 6 months at $4.99 per bottle and no delivery fee. I skipped a month because I needed water sooner so I went and bought more. When I skipped the month they sent me a notification saying they were picking up empty bottles and the machine. The representative told me even if I canceled my subscription the water cooler is mine to keep. We finally got that straightened out. I attempted to do a reorder today only for the total to be higher and included delivery fees again. Spoke with another customer support who said we had to up our prices due to quality products and services. I explained again about the discount he came back asking me how does $8.99 a bottle work for me. I said what works for me is honesty. Please come and collect the empty bottles and your machine please and thanks

Familiar with company through work and extremely unreliable. Never comes on time or when the notifications are sent out.

Beware: Overpriced, Misleading, and Unhelpful…read more I called A&F Plumbing for a $59 service visit to find out why my water heater was not heating -- seemed reasonable. The tech was polite. That's where the positives ended. He relit the pilot light and THEN told me it was $250 just to relight the pilot light -- something most plumbers include in the basic fee. After paying that ridiculous charge, my water still never got hot. He didn't check, wait to see - - just said he relit it. He did make sure he had a sales pitch though. Without fully diagnosing the problem, he jumped straight to recommending a $875 burner assembly or a $5,250 replacement water heater, (complete with estimates) claiming mine was 11 years old, but my house is only 9 years old. Either the math was off, or they were hoping I wouldn't question it. I paid $250 for nothing -- no fix, no follow-up, just out the window, whoever recommended them should be ashamed of themselves. Definitely a bait-and-switch. If you're looking for real solutions and honest pricing, I strongly suggest calling someone else.

Even though I have experience with basic plumbing projects, I didn't take any chances and had it professionally installed by a licensed plumber. The next day, we noticed it was leaking. The plumber came back and took out the filter, re-installed it, and it started leaking again. In his words: "I don't trust it." We just moved back into our house after 4 months when another water filter busted and flooded our home, so we had the Hydroviv filter removed. I'm not risking it and do NOT trust Hydroviv or their under-the-counter water filter products. I am posting a review here because I submitted the above review on their website but they censored it and won't allow it to post on their site. I have asked 6 times for a reason why and no one will answer my question. You cannot trust their website reviews when they only allow certain ones (overwhelming positive) to post. Their phone number doesn't work, their chat doesn't work, and the only way to communicate with them is via email, which, in my experience, takes 2-3 emails and a week before getting a response. Overall, one of the WORST companies I've ever dealt with. Because of their shady business practices, I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Four years ago, they replaced my water pressure tank and several failing fittings, and installed a…read morereverse osmosis (RO) system. Given the cost of this work, I expected durable materials, proactive recommendations, and transparent guidance. Unfortunately, both experiences have left me disappointed -- and more importantly, concerned about trust. Regarding the pressure tank: during installation, their team very likely observed an older, visibly corroded metal well intake pipe that had likely been in place for nearly 20 years under prior ownership. Fast forward to today -- I noticed heavy white corrosion on the 4.5-year-old brass fitting and an active water leak. Given the risk of catastrophic failure, I called for urgent service. To their credit, they arrived within two hours, which I appreciated. However, I was then told the metal pipework was not covered under the tank warranty and that it should be replaced with stainless steel -- which they acknowledged would last longer and resist corrosion better than the prior installation -- at a cost of $1,400. When a contractor identifies visibly corroded infrastructure during an install, I expect clear risk disclosure and upgrade options at that time -- not four years later when failure is imminent and the homeowner has little choice. Now to the RO system: at installation, I was told the filters were widely available commercially and easy to replace. I later learned the filters are proprietary and only sold through water system companies -- not readily available via retail as originally represented. That distinction materially affects long-term cost and flexibility. Years later, I called to ask how to sanitize the RO system myself. I was told it's something only they can do and that they would handle sanitization when delivering the next set of filters (rather than shipping them), which I accepted. After the technician sanitized the lines, he casually told me, "You know you can sanitize the lines yourself." That is exactly what I had asked about over the phone. I relied on their guidance, only to hear the opposite in person. For tradespeople working inside a home -- especially on critical water infrastructure -- trust and clarity are foundational. When guidance changes, material limitations aren't disclosed up front, or foreseeable corrosion isn't proactively addressed, it raises concerns beyond just cost. While I appreciate the prompt emergency response, the combination of reactive fixes, proprietary product limitations, and inconsistent communication has made this an unsatisfactory experience overall.

When the two techs came out, the lead tech said my pressure tank bladder needed air, and the switch was sticking on one side and overheating. After just going under the crawl space and futzing around (I told him there was no pressure after looking at the gauge myself), he recommended a $4,500 replacement of the pump, tank and switch - OR, I could upgrade to a better system for $6k ish. When I asked if he could just add air to the bladder with a pump so I didn't have to pay for another visit, he said oh no, he'd have to come back and also replace the switch if he did that. Funny, Phelps replaced the tank and bladder the last time this happened - 2017, I think. I wonder if I spent an unnecessary $750 on a new tank then, because they saw a "little rust" on the tank back then. Next time, I go under the crawl space to look at it myself. Ugh. Hmmm... He left me with several estimates...ranging from $700 to $6k and said I could do his recommended replacements or...do nothing until the next time it happened and spend more. They charged me $307.50 for NOTHING but a rip-off -just more money and an inaccurate diagnosis. Fast forward to a visit by JE Roberts, the next day (always get a couple of estimates) and the tech actually tested the water pressure by stressing the system - hooking up a hose to the tank - to mimic what might have tripped the water system off. He was patient, explaining why to me, and even took me under the house when I asked to show me the tank and switch (only about nine years old and he said NO bladder air issues OR switch overheating - saw it with my own two eyes). He said he couldn't diagnose the issue after testing for an hour, except to theorize that the capacitor in the pump might have a little glitch that when it hits that, the system shuts down - only every few years, and to call them if it happens again. They charged me $200 - well worth it for a honest test and feedback. Trust me - I'll call Roberts NOT Phelps. Ever. Again. Ever. I've spent way too much money "fixing" things they suggest without a real fix of the root cause issue.
