The major regional plumbers showed up and the quote with their "discounts" was $2359. Campbell's was able to come out this afternoon and complete the repair. They were great from start to finish. Before every appointment, they send a text with the tech's name, photo, and even a little bio including their hobbies. The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. They are a well diverse (continue reading below) plumber and like many craftsmen, auto mechanic, and even doctor, once you find a really good one there is no need in looking any further. (1) The first time my wife and I used D&M was to repair a burst pipe on my sprinklers system. (2) The second time I used them was to replace the hot water heating elements and thermostat. (3) The third time I used D&M was to install a Sears Whole-House Water Softener, Conditioner and Filtration system. Not only did they install the system but they installed a by-pass on my main water line which would allow for easy maintenance when needed and provided for future expansion (e.g. connecting a water line to the refrigerator or a reverse osmosis water filter system). Now that's looking out for the customer. In addition, I mentioned I did not want Check Valves anymore because they are becoming difficult for me to turn the round knob. What D&M did was change out the Check Valves for Ball Valves and what a difference it made. The work was very impressive. (4) The fourth time I used D&M was to replace the kitchen sink and under cabinet dishwasher. The work was done correctly and they left the work area nice and clean. (5) The fifth time I used D&M was to install a separate Whole House Filter Water system. Again, the install included adding Ball Valves for easy maintenance. We are currently in the middle of updating the kids' bathrooms and you guessed it, D&M easily removed the tub (replacing with walk-in shower), toilet and capped off the waterlines. They coordinated with the tile installer to run new waterlines prior to the installation of the Durock drywall. I solicited quotes from three companies to reline my 80+ year-old sewer line. One never delivered; Second quoted but was near impossible to get questions answered regarding the quote. Drain Guys quoted on the spot, and was extremely responsive regarding follow-up questions. The CIPP liner process is technically complex, and the team experienced some unforeseen complications. However, the skill, positive attitude, and perseverance of every team member when things got tough truly impressed me. I submitted a project request for clanging pipes through Yelp and a rep from the drain guys was the…read morefirst to respond within 2 minutes. They were able to come out first thing the following morning to take a look at the situation, turned the water valves all the way on, and sent me a detailed quote while they were still there (unfortunately they initially sent it to a wrong number so someone has my personal data :/ ). Pricing was on the higher end of what I expected, and I was planning to get estimates from other companies that responded on Yelp to compare, so I let them know I would be in contact. Later that evening, I went back downstairs and noticed a leak coming from the main water valve, which was not leaking prior to the drain guys' visit. I immediately sent a message with a video via yelp, and the rep responded saying they would contact the plumber and get back to me. It's been almost 2 weeks and I still haven't heard back, which is interesting as they were so quick to respond when I was potentially giving them business, but ghosted me when I held them accountable for causing a leak. Thankfully, a plumber from another company that responded to my yelp project came by and was able to tighten the valve to stop the leaking. Turns out the drain guys plumber had loosened the entire pipe/valve when he turned the knob all the way on, so it was a simple fix but something that they should have looked out for in the moment. Had I waited for the drain guys to come back my basement would have been flooded. I'm utterly disappointed in their lack of accountability and communication, and have no trust in their services if they were able to let me down on such a small matter.
