We had suspected gas leak months ago when we called to schedule a refill we told them we aren't using the gas this fast and they never told us they tested it at all. I found the leak myself and they came out to repair it, I lost hundreds of dollars in lost propane over a few month time and they still charged me for the repair, apparently we own the gas line running from the tank to the house. This was very disappointing because we asked them to check for a leak and they never did, we have a half empty tank AGAIN. We are billed for the repair and we are also stuck paying for all the lost gas. Sorry to say but we will be shopping around before we refill this time.

Copied from my Google review: I'm going to vent a bit. I got…read morea fill up today, 04 March 2025, and they charged $6.21/gallon. The EIA dot GOV websites states that the Maryland delivered to home cost per gallon as of 24 February 2025 is $3.785/gallon. Another local company, Taylor Gas, is currently as of today, 04 March 2025, $3.30/gallon. It blows my mind that Suburban is so simply robbing customers in Southern Maryland. After I called and complained, they gave me a 20% discount (now $4.968/gallon). That is still 50.55% higher than what Taylor Gas charges. If you have the option to go to just about any other provider in Maryland, maybe you should. But... but, if you have a tank with Suburban at your home that you bought with the tank already installed, you are stuck in their lease (which costs roughly $48/year). That is not bad, right? You cannot buy your way out of the lease in order to use other suppliers for much lower costs. You are stuck. If you want to cancel service with them, then you will have to get that tank remove (out of the ground) at your cost. Why can't you buy out of the lease, because their lawyers gave them the great idea to state that the tank is used and they cannot sell it to anyone. Where is D.O.G.E. where you need them? This sounds like a bad dream and it is. Suburban Propane should be avoided at all costs...

I put in a call to the 888 number explaining I was switched to automatic delivery but was told I was will call . JESS B. was the representative who assisted me and a LIFE SAVER ! Not only was she compassionate, she was extremely educated on her profession and explained everything perfectly on how to handle it. SMO had brought 10 gallons to pull me through and it only took a few hours for them to arrive ! I was a wreck and She was able to get my tank filled by delivery team in 2 business days and I am eternally grateful for it ! I'm staying with SMO because of her and her Amazing Customer service skills ! Please keep her and never let her go SMO. She truly deserves a raise in my personal opinion and saved you from losing a client . The other ladies were not near as helpful or acknowledging on services, delivery and everything in between. Thanks JESS B. I truly appreciate you !

It truly is a left hand right hand issue. We have cancelled our service multiple times and they still send a bill to renew. I ended up paying them $100 even though they said in November that everything was fine NOT to pay. Just save yourself the hassle and do not sign up. Note to ones self....they are also $1.50 more per gallon versus Murphy Oil. Just think on a 250 tank fill that is $375 more. I rarely post negative reviews.....but this one had to be done.

I have always had relatively good experiences with Valley Energy. However, I'm now done based on…read morethis past experience. I guess it does take only one bad experience. Poor management when questioned. I had an issue about whether 800 gallons was actually delivered to my home. I have a 1,000 gallon propane tank -- when I got to about 150 to 175 gallons, I called for a refill. When I received the refill, they refilled to 800 gallons (which is typical -- 80% total). They gave me a bill for exactly 800 gallons delivered. I questioned the invoice because I knew I called in when there was no less than 150 gallons, which means if I had 150 and they put 800 in that I'd have 950 total. They said they put in 800 and my tank must have been completely at zero and that my gauge must be wrong. I check my gauge every week and know it was not at zero or even close to it. My email was initially ignored, then it was clearly misread when it was responded to and not sent to management. I had to call to get a manager (or I think they connected me to a dispatcher), who tried to placate me to get me off the phone with the understanding he would follow up in a couple of ways, which he never did. When I finally followed up a few weeks later by email, the assistant contacted the the manager (or dispatcher) who told her to pass along that the driver who made the delivery was contacted and said that there were in fact 800 gallons delivered and everything seemed ok at the time of delivery. My emails to Valley Energy and my discussions were clear in that I was not seeking not to pay for gas I did not receive. I was interested in finding out if my gauge was wrong to have it fixed, or to learn if the gas truck that did deliver to my home reported the wrong amount as being delivered (they track all amounts all day) -- I indicated perhaps at the end of the day there may have been an extra 200 gallons on the truck. In any event, they handled it wrong and they lost a customer. I was with them four years and will be no longer. This experience leaves me with a taste of mismanagement, possible dishonesty and siphoned gas in my mouth. I'm not suggesting Valley Energy actually billed for gas they didn't provide to me, but the way they handled this incident, it gives me great pause to consider whether it is just bad customer service. I've lost my faith in them.

Enter…read moreBoothe's Heating, Plumbing & Electric, who swooped in with their "83 or Free" special -- and didn't charge me a dime for the initial visit. Yup, free. Before every appointment, they send a text with the tech's name, photo, and even a little bio including their hobbies. It's like getting a match on a dating app, only this time the person actually shows up and fixes the problem instead of ghosting you. The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing. They made an unpleasant situation downright educational and pleasant -- and that's a rare gift.

Mike Kimble!!!! Exceptional Service!!…read more I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mike from Boots Plumbing, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and treated me as if I were family. What impressed me most was his compassion and genuine care--he even went out of his way to call my granddaughter so I wouldn't have to walk down the hallway, since it's difficult for me to get around. That thoughtful gesture touched my heart. It's rare these days to find someone who not only knows their work inside and out but also treats people with such respect and kindness. Mike truly went above and beyond, and I deeply appreciate everything he did for me. If every employee at Boots Plumbing is anything like Mike, then this company is truly exceptional. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services! -Ms. Smith
