I won't hire any other plumber other than Lyons. Had a leak at my water main shutoff. Reached out Dan and explained the issue to him and requested for him to send one of his guys out asap. He verbally quoted me a ballpark estimate to fix the issue but also gave me step-by-step instructions to troubleshoot & resolve the issue in case it was something very minor. Turns out it was and I was able to clear up this issue with Dan's help over the phone. Side note: turns out I did hire Lyons in the past for an issues with our bathroom plumbing in which they did a phenomenal job, were very punctual & communicative, and were reasonably priced. I also learned about some mistakes I made in trying to DIY the issue. Seems like the whole Lyons team are not only pros at their trade but also great teachers who are genuinely there to help. Giving 5 stars for Dan's professionalism, ability to detect my sense of urgency (a little desperation too, probably), and willingness to help a customer even if didn't help his bottom line. Honestly not sure how Lyons stacks up compared to their competitors on price alone, but my bet is that they're second to none in quality work and professionalism. As this post has been titled, I won't hire anyone else other than Lyons and I suggest at least talking to these guys for your next plumbing project/repair. read more

Honest and selfless with their advise. Price was top going but I was very pleased with their communications.

Price was slightly higher but they were available to get the job done same day. Quote was on the phone and they came later in the day to fix it. read more

What an amazing experience with Mark from Lyons! 5+ stars for service, quality, and value. My husband asked several plumbers for quotes, and Mark was the first to reply, right away. He gave us a fair estimate based on the problem description and scheduled a visit immediately. True to his word, he quoted the exact cost when he arrived. During his first visit, Mark was thorough, answered every question, and explained everything clearly. He fixed half the issue on the spot and returned the next day to finish the job. Because the old valve was badly installed and the surrounding "box" cracked when it was removed, Mark went above and beyond. He replaced the whole box and the new valves, a service that would normally cost an extra$200, but he didn't charge us a cent for it. He tested everything before leaving, and when I mentioned our weak‑pressure shower, he instantly diagnosed the cause, explained what caused it, and showed me the issue, and fixed it at no additional cost. I also asked about the slow draining sink, and Mark handed me a tool to remove the debris and showed me how to access the clog. Again, this was free of charge. Mark assured us that Lyons' labor and parts come with a one‑year warranty and that the components used are built to last. In today's world, it's hard to trust someone you don't know, but Mark made us feel completely comfortable and at ease. We're thrilled with the service and will gladly refer Mark and Lyons to anyone needing plumbing or drainage help! We will no longer be looking for another plumber again. read more

8pm ceiling leaking below bathroom I just changed faucet in. Yelp message out and Called and scheduled within 1 hour of request. Able to come hours earlier the next day than scheduled time frame. It luckily worked out. Fixed our leaking sink valve within minutes. Learned some lessons and great pricing and stress relief. Thank you. Would definitely hire them again. read more

Dan was really helpful I had an emergency and he spent time with me, on the phone, on a weekend night, and helped resolve the issue read more

The Lyons replaced our tankless hot water heater and did the work as promised for the quoted price, which was a good value. We have had hot water since then. I like that! I will call upon them again. read more

Very happy with the communication from Dan. He gave me an idea of the cost over the phone, which was reasonable & really helpful. We had another plumber here first who charged us for 3 hours and did not solve the problem. (Literally money down the drain!) Lyons had the right equipment & thankfully took care of the main drain clog. We had a slight communication issue with another employee, but that was resolved. I will keep their info if we have future issues. read more

5+ stars from an Elite Yelper with lots of home improvement experience. Cannot say enough about how honest, responsive and supportive they were in meeting our needs. Had a an L shaped pipe leak due to pinhole caused by corrosion at the joint; called a 10+ vendors most of which could not come out for days. Put in a request directly on Yelp and Dan answered within minutes, had multiple phone calls to diagnose the issue, and sent out one of his most seasoned professionals Mark. Mark fixed the issue quickly and was able to maneuver his press into a tight area rather than cutting drywall as other contractors had suggested. Pricing was not the cheapest but more than fair given overall experience and some of the inflated prices quoted by other firms. Highly recommend for any complex and urgent job ! read more

We had a dripping faucet in our tub. We had the cartridge pulled previously, so we knew it was the pipe that was the issue. My husband sent pictures of the faucet and they recommended a new faucet and handle. Mark came out a few days later and fixed the problem. Mark was friendly, effiecent and got the job done in a few hours. He also pointed out an existing leak on the drain. We had him come out a week later to fix that as well. I'm pleased with the work. read more

I contacted Lyons plumbing about a faucet repair, and Dave talked to me like I was an idiot. He insisted there must be an access panel to the faucet (there is not) and said he would call back after I sent him pictures. I sent the photos, but he never returned my call. Message received loud and clear-- my business was not wanted. Don't worry, I won't try again. read more

TLDR: prompt, professional, accommodating, and excellent. Kevin Lyons and Arvin Lange came to the rescue at my mom's house when she had a clogged sink for her aging house. Kevin and Arvin were super understanding when we had to reschedule and came out when they said they would and did an awesome job. I'm sold on the quality of their work and their commitment to getting the job done right. Don't often meet people these days who will follow through with their promises. Would recommend Kevin Lyons and Arvin to anybody else in my circle for honest and excellent plumbing work. read more

This was a very good experience from beginning to end. From speaking with Dan and getting an estimate and setting up an install time to working with Marc who performed the work. Both were very professional and explained everything to me. I had a sediment filter installed and they fixed a copper pipe that had a leak and was very thin and difficult to work with. I think the value of the work and what I paid was fair. The job took a little longer than anticipated but I would highly recommend them. read more

Amazing job for a very tricky problem. The plumbing in my upstairs (2 bathrooms side by side) backed up for the second time in 5 months. The first company I hired to come out to fix it needed a full day. They were very clearly stumped by the issue and could not figure out why they were not hitting the clog. They tried multiple times through one of the toilets, through the roof stack and finally tried hydrojetting it which cleared it but they charged me $1800. It was clear they did not understand what the problem was or how to address it. When I spoke to Dan on the phone, he immediately identified the problem and had some solid ideas on how to fix it. He sent out Kevin, his brother, and Arvin, Kevin's helper to snake the drain. It took them 10 MINUTES total to clear the drain and get the water flowing again. Major props to Kevin as his experience and knowledge made all the difference between an 8 hour job and a 10 minute job. When I have to replace the drain causing these clogs in a few months, I will certainly be calling Lyons Plumbing for an estimate! read more

Lyons recently replied my house and did other plumbing work. Dan and Mark were terrific. They explained everything that needed to be done before it was done including any options and their benefits/detriments, and showed me exactly what was done afterwards. Big shout out to Dan and Mark for allowing me to check one item of my Honey Dew List! I looked up Plumbers on Friday and received multiple quotes. Ultimately Dan's responsiveness and clarifying questions to fully understand the job at hand, made me comfortable to move ahead with the scheduled appointment on Monday. Mark, the plumber who arrived to perform the job, came earlier than expected, which I had no problem. He came to the door with his mask on, and I met him at the rear of my house. I previously cleaned out the cabinet so Mark could have the best, as possible, area to work with. My original faucet came with the house when I bought it. Between my kids and wife's need to turn the faucet on at full blast each time of use, water was leaking below causing rust and corrosion on the connections. Mark, said, "This is going to be difficult." He walked out to his truck, came back to saw off the original faucet, and the new faucet was on in what felt like 15 minutes. Mark informed me the hand soap dispenser that came with my faucet could not be out on because my dishwasher is taking up the last hole on my sink. No worries, we didn't use it anyways. I won't be getting a new dishwasher until the kitchen is funny renovated. Dan and Mark will be the first ones I call for the next project. read more

Can't say enough good things about Lyons Plumbing! We just bought a house in Hyattsville, and immediately had a problem with our basement bathroom. The first company we called came out, charged us $2900 for an escalating series of "fixes," and failed to fix the problem. Not only that, but they wanted $5300 to dig up our yard in yet another fix attempt! We decided to get a second opinion, and thank God we did. We reached out to Lyons through Yelp and were soon on the phone with Dan Lyons, the owner. He was good-humored and knowledgable, he took the time to understand our problem, and we were immediately at ease. Next morning, he sent out Kevin & Brad, who *actually* fixed the issue for just $500. Kevin thought there was an issue with our sewage ejection pump, so Dan sent out another employee the next day--but it turns out there wasn't a problem, and they didn't charge us for the visit. Lyons Plumbing turned our nightmare plumbing issue into a nothingburger. Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. I wish we'd called Lyons Plumbing first! Lesson learned. Next time, we definitely will. read more

Dan at Lyons Plumbing installed a new water softener and filtration system in my house in December. I tried to schedule a consultation and estimate with this company. I called, described my issue, and told the guy my town, to which he replied, "What neighborhood in that town?" What a strange response. He then stated that someone could come out to look at my place. I then asked if there would be a dispatch fee ( I wouldn't have had a problem with this). The guy said no and then asked if I've had other plumbers come out. I told him that I'm getting estimates. He then complained about how he didn't want to do the work of an estimate just for another plumber to get the job and stated that they wouldn't be coming out to do the estimate. read more

We hired Lyons Plumbing to have our whole house re-piped (we had polybutylene pipes). Dan Lyons and his team were very professional and responsive during the entire process. We called Lyons after hours to fix a leak in one of our bathrooms, and our appt. was scheduled for the next morning. After the inspection we needed repairs in both of our bathrooms, and this was resolved in about an hour. The person that repaired our toilets explained everything he was doing and gave us recommendations on how to maintain these repairs. Overall the service was great and we recommend Lyons. I'm giving them 4 stars bc the service was almost $500 to fix 2 toilets. One toilet needed a "major repair" including replacing all the parts inside the tank, replacing the screws and resealing. The other toilet needed replacing that chain thing inside the tank. I don't know if these are industry standard prices for this service. read more
