I haven't used Drain Works yet but wanted to post a review because their customer service is top notch. I have a Canadian brand water heater that most plumbers aren't familiar with. He was the first person to respond to my request on Yelp and offered to come out and diagnose the issue but recommended that I call the manufacturer to see if it's still under warranty and find someone familiar with the brand. He spent several minutes talking with me and it felt like he was really trying to help me with the best possible solution--not just get my business. That's rare these days and if I ever do need to replace my system or get other work done, I will be calling them! read more

We had a leak coming through our doorframe and weren't entirely sure the main source of why water was coming through. We were able to look at our tub connection after speaking with their team about what we'd seen and were able to have it fixed, tested and adjusted within 1 hour. They were already in our area, so they were able to come by quickly within the same morning I called them. Their team was professional, knowledgeable and could speak to what other things to be on the lookout for based on this particular job. I definitely would recommend Drain Works. I used the message function on Yelp to get an estimate and schedule an appointment. I had a leak under my kitchen sink and was able to schedule an appointment on Sunday night, for Tuesday morning (they had availability on Monday but I didn't). They gave a 2 hour window, and I got a text saying they were on the way about 20 mins before my appointment window. The technician, Jorge arrived within the 2 hour scheduled window and was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He was able to fix the leak by replacing some parts and my final invoice was the same as the estimate. He also used shoe covers when entering my apt (so no mess). Thank you! read more

Even better, he could come today to do the work and upgraded the 40-gallon I'd asked for to a 50-gallon heater for the same price. Jorge arrived on time this morning. Absolutely the best plumbing experience I've ever had. Jorge was first on my list to call when we were having issues with our upstairs bathtub drain, based on previous conversations about a problematic toilet (covered in a previous review). Called on a Wednesday to schedule them, and Jen was able to get me on the books for two days later (Friday afternoon) to address the tub as well as a lingering issue with the kitchen faucet. She gave me an very reasonable estimate with the appropriate caveats that it could change if there was more to the situation than their initial guesses. Jorge showed up promptly at 3 (actually a few minutes early!), and was able to fix both problems in just under two hours (including time needed for a quick trip to Home Depot for a part). The tub was a simple snaking; the faucet issue involved changing one of the shutoff valves... but Jorge went ahead and replaced both for the same charge just to head off any future issues and make them easier to handle in the future. Billing came in exactly as predicted, which was fantastic. Jorge was friendly and professional and even had a few friendly suggestions for ways to avoid future clogs... and with a kind offer to call if I run into any future issues. He clearly cares about his customers in ways you just don't see anymore, and goes above and beyond to make that clear. I would *highly* recommend to anyone in this area. read more

I can't recommend Jorge enough. You can't find this kind of plumber anymore - reliable, honest, fast, smart. I wish I had skipped other plumbers I hired for other problems last year. They costed much more money and did a much worse job. If you need a plumber and are not sure who to trust, be assured this is the person for you. We had several issues in our house -- leaky kitchen sink, difficult recurring clog our toilet, aging mainline pipe. Jorge gave us an honest and very competitive quote for the toilet, and explained how much it would cost depending what the underlying issues were. He did the job exactly as he promised and fixed the leaky kitchen sink as an added bonus and did not try to upcharge us because he figured out quicky what the easy fix to the problem was. I called for a main water line replacement. The phone ran for a while, then music for about 30 seconds then a person answered that sounded as if they were asleep - it was 1130 am. I know they are a home based business based on their address, but I was not concerned - everyone starts somewhere and they would have less costs to pass on. I asked about getting an estimate and let them know I was about 5 minute from them. I was told there was a $65 charge to give an estimate. There is no way I would pay for an estimate. read more

Bought a house with a pretty old looking gas fireplace. I was just hoping the lines worked - I figured I would need a new insert. I called Drain Works and they explained their process very well. The tech came out and got the fireplace working pretty quickly and showed me how to work the remote I didn't even know went to the fireplace. They explained how to the pilot and all other things on the set worked. They explained their refurbishment service with no pressure to purchase. I can't recommend this company enough! Our water heater went out on a Saturday morning and we quickly realized this was going to need to be a replacement and not a simple repair. We got quotes from a few different companies, and DrainWorks provided a very competitive price and the fasted turn around to fix my water heater. They were able to come two days after initially looking at the water heater. Unfortunately, the install ended up being a little more complicated than anticipated and they had to order one additional part. Despite having to come back the following week and do an additional FIVE HOURS of labor, they honored the original price. Great company, honest pricing, really nice staff. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! These guys will definitely be my go to going forward. read more

Our old water heater was starting to show its age (main issue being showers weren't getting or staying as hot) and we called Drain Works to come out to see what could be done. Very responsive in setting up an appt and was told the service call fee (think it was $59 or $69) was waived if we accepted the quote and went through with the repair/replacement. Arrived on time and was advised to replace our water heater with a new 50gal natural gas water heater, tank booster, 6yr extended warranty, and a pressure reducing valve. The total came to roughly $3,260, and the work was completed in about 4hrs. The process was as smooth as you can hope for when it comes to dreaded home repair. We now have water as hot as we want for as long as we want, plus the peace of mind that we are in good hands if any issues come up. read more

Drain Works installed a new gas water heater for us. The owner knows his stuff and gave honest advice which was in my best interest, not his. You can tell when someone is straight with you and Drain Works was certainly practical in their approach. I found other companies willing to do the job cheaper but when looking at their proposals they are simply buying something from Home Depot and slapping it in place. Drain Works deals with quality water heaters and the final project was well executed, with well done plumbing lines.
