Gus, the owner, is a good guy. I requested a plumber as my downstairs toilet was leaking and backing up into the shower. He immediately knew the problem was that the main sewer line needed to be snaked, and he sent someone out. That technician claimed he could not find parking and left. I reached out to Gus, who apologized and personally came out to take care of the problem. This is excellent customer service. What could have been a bad situation and review turned into a positive experience. But the initial technician needs a talking to. We had a leak at our main water shutoff. Gus came out within a day and did a thorough evaluation of our recently purchased home and helped us decide what to prioritize. We did a hot water tank reinstall and replaced the leaking area of pipe. Gus and Fedo were efficient and communicative. Had our kitchen faucet drain pipe leak from the old corroded copper pipe-PVC junction not having the tight seal. Called many plumbers but no one could promise they would be able to come on a very cold Saturday morning but Champion did. They were prompt, came within 2 hours, fixed the problem in under 2 hours. Owner was very responsive, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. Repair was expensive but we are glad they could get it fixed on the weekend rather than us having to take off work on weekdays. I reached out on Yelp for a shower fixture to be replaced and Gus responded very promptly. He knew what the issue was even before coming onsite. Once we confirmed the service date he ordered the parts as they were not something he had stocked. He communicated with me the entire time on timeline and delay as the part didn't arrive as expected. Gus arrived as he said he would and walked me through the issue. He and his helper were quick to fix the issues. Once they left we found that the hot and cold were backwards. I reached out to Gus and he apologized and scheduled a time to return. He came back as he said he would and fixed the issue. After a "friend" installed our garbage disposal three years ago, I have been having issues with the kitchen plumbing backing up ever since. Multiple plumbing services have come snaked the drain without clueing me in to the real problem- the garbage disposal was lower than the pipes. After being quoted $2000 by another company to properly plumb the kitchen sink and garbage disposal, I contacted Champion Plumbing and Drains. Fedo came out the next day and let me know the job would be more like $800-1000, due to the location of the pipe (behind the dishwasher). I agreed because I could certainly understand it was a complicated job (and still way less than the first quote I received). This was a tough job from start to finish! Fedo was willing to call another guy out to assist in moving the dishwasher out, without having to remove the countertop- this saved me more money and was greatly appreciated! It took 4-5 hours to complete the whole job, but I am so glad to finally have my kitchen properly plumbed! Everything is working well now and their work is guaranteed for three years. Needed a water expansion tank replacement and a t&p valve replacement due to a small, but accumulating over weeks, water coming out of the relief valve of the water heater, onto the drain pan. The tech came and also found that my main's water pressure was too high and tightened that valve for me free of charge. He also sealed a condensate line that was loose and dripping condensate onto the garage's floor, for free. Yesterday evening I was having an issue with my toilets and reached out. Gus answered right away and informed me that they could either come out that night for an emergency fee or the next day. Due to the situation I opted to pay the emergency fee. Gus actually called me back and asked me to send videos and stayed on the phone with me for 15 minutes asking me to try different things to fix the issue. We discovered our sewer line was backed up in the late morning on a Sunday, we were fortunate to find Gus and crew later that same day and they arrived at 6pm (on Sunday) and worked for 2 hours to snake the line and allow us to use our water again. They ran a camera and patiently showed us the results, and we had them back out a couple of days later to "chain knock" and flush the line. They were careful and respectful with our interior spaces, they had to pull a toilet twice to do the work and everything was spotless after they left. Initially I wasn't overly happy with the cost. $500 to replace the shut off valve to the outside faucet. But once the tech started, he ended up replacing several items under the sink in addition to the shut off valve. Even made a run to Home Depot for a part he didn't have (not related to the shut off valve). Long story short, he spent over 6 hours when the initial estimate said between 1-2hours. I fully expected to see a larger price, and was preparing to fight it, but it wasn't necessary. He held true to the initial price quoted. I'm sure this isn't normal practice, but the nice guy that showed up to my house was a very hard worker and obviously very knowledgeable in order to identify 3 additional items that needed to be replaced before they failed and I had a huge problem. This was my 2nd time using Michael & Son, and I won't hesitate to use them again. Great company, great people. read more
