We called Lyons after hours to fix a leak in one of our bathrooms, and our appt. was scheduled for the next morning. After the inspection we needed repairs in both of our bathrooms, and this was resolved in about an hour. The person that repaired our toilets explained everything he was doing and gave us recommendations on how to maintain these repairs. Overall the service was great and we recommend Lyons. I'm giving them 4 stars bc the service was almost $500 to fix 2 toilets. One toilet needed a "major repair" including replacing all the parts inside the tank, replacing the screws and resealing. The other toilet needed replacing that chain thing inside the tank. I don't know if these are industry standard prices for this service. read more

I contacted Lyons plumbing because my water pressure was not building from my well pump. The gentlemen who came worked quickly to tell me my well pump and tank were defective. It would cost me close to $5000 to replace both ($1500 for the tank, $3000 for the well pump replacement) I called another company who quoted me $3000 to do both. The gentlemen who came out, diagnosed my system, and told me my tank and pump were both fine and that it was likely a check valve that was bad. He pulled out the pump and showed me that indeed the check valve was bad and that he would charge me $400 total to repair it. I went ahead and had him replace the pump since it was 12 years old anyways. Everybody makes mistakes, and Lyons company was nice. I dont think they were actively trying to deceive me. However I think the Yelp description for 2 stars is appropriate... "Cloud've been better". read more

I had a leak coming from my shower into my living room. I went through Yelp and found a couple of businesses including this one. The owner was very responsive and communicative. I scheduled an appointment and the plumber arrived on time and was very pleasant. He had mentioned to us that there would be an additional fee for him to try to find where the leak was coming from. We explained to him that we knew where the leak was coming from but he completely dismissed that and said that he would need to do a leak test. We agreed and paid the additional money. I'm not really sure what he did but he ended up telling us that the floor in our bathroom was rotted underneath. He said that we would need to contact a general contractor and have the entire bathroom floor lifted. He did some minor caulking around the shower exterior door. We ended up paying $225 for the visit/service. The very next day the pipe was leaking again so we contacted a family friend who is also a plumber and was in town visiting. He cut a hole in the ceiling and confirmed (what we had originally thought), the leak was from the bathroom shower and showed us the exact leakage from the pipe. He said for a "quick fix" we could go to Home Depot/Lowes and purchase Flex Seal. We did that the same day and the leak stopped. A few weeks later the pipe started leaking from another spot. We contacted another plumber in the area and they came out the very next day. When I scheduled the appointment they were very upfront with their cost and what the cost would entail. This other company came out and was able to fix the problem same day only charging us $160 total. I would not recommend Lyons plumbing. As other people have stated, I think they are just "money hungry." I don't feel that the $225 we paid was realistic or fair for what we received. read more

I want to recommend Lyons Plumbing and Water Treatment. We had a number of "little" plumbing problems that were related to our faulty water treatment system. They came and surveyed the system and were able to reset the controllers and made a couple of simple suggestions. They also were able to take care of 7 little problems that were weeping or about to weep. We only knew of one of the problems. There schedule for service matched our requested service times and date. Dan was quick to respond to my Yelp quote request on the day after July 4th, a Sunday. The water heater in my rental house had sprung a leak and made a big mess right when my poor tenants were moving in. The quote was in line with other numbers I was offered and he could get to the work on Monday so I scheduled with him then. He and his crew showed up in the agreed upon window, unfortunately I was in the basement and didn't hear them knocking, but once I let them in it was a quick diagnosis, some draining and hauling out the old tank. In came the new tank and an up-to-code gas shut off was installed too. They all appeared competent and were professional throughout the job. The price was exactly as quoted. DISHONEST PLUMER my last 2 water bill were $420 and $860. I turned off the running garden hose. WSSC recommend to hire a licensed plumber incase repair needed. I call Dan explained as above details. He told me "don't worry I work with WSSC, I will help take care of WSSC for you" when he came to my house, 1st he flushed all 3 toilets upstairs and no sign of leak. Then he flushed the 4th toilet in the basement, took me straight to the water meter and show me that the meter moving slightly. when his plumber came in he rechecked all 3 toilets upstairs and went down to basement. At this time , right after he flushed the toilet he pour a blue liquid into the tank . He said " you got an over flow ". Then he told me adjusted the flapper. When I asked for the bill. Dan asked me do you want a licensed ticket or non? At this moment ???? are running in my head.I hired a licensed plumber When I contact him. He hand me a written ticket for $250. Then he also mention if you pay cash less 3%. Now I am kind of shock. He had not mentioned about his price of service and I didn't ask. Lesson live and learn for me. The descriptions from plumber wrote was 1-adjust 1flapper 2- inspected for water leak ( I think. I don't remember how he wrote it) So I lost my ticket. I ask Dan sent me the copy of my receipt. Instead of the original receipt he send me a type out one . The descriptions had change to 2 flappers were adjusted. I contacted Dan bout the over charge by phone and texted. I needed a plumber for a new leak I had. I contacted Lyons Plumbing and they replied quickly. I was able to give a brief description of problem and they said they could repair. They were very quick and responsive to all my questions and especially very professional. I was informed that the leak was from an old faucet and the brand would send a replacement. Again Lyons Plumbing informed me of this. How honest is that, not trying to sell a part. I cannot day enough on how great they are. When they came to work on the leak they were on time. A quick review of the issue was discussed. The issue was resolved and part was installed. They noticed another issue and resolved that by replacing the catch inside of the sink which had been worn out and leaking as well. In all this company is honest and professional. Called for a leak in a bathtub faucet. Turns out it was a very old model of faucet that required cartridges. The plumber who responded only had 1 cartridge in the truck, but recommending replacing both (one for hot water, one for cold). Unfortunately, because he only had one cartridge in the truck, it would be another $200+ service call if we wanted to proactively replace the 2nd cartridge. I'm happy with the service provided, but what would have earned a 5 star review is if the plumber offered to get the missing part from a hardware store and come back and install it. I'd be willing to pay a little extra for that, but a whole additional $200+ service fee seemed excessive. read more
