Tried Randy's Donuts for the 1st time today! I must say the donuts were super fresh and delicious! Even my daughter loves them and she doesn't care for donuts! Would give 5 stars but gave 3 instead because of the service! I went about a week or so ago with my boyfriend and we were excited because it was our first time trying this place! As soon as we walked in we weren't greeted. The boy who helped us out looked miserable. When we would have questions about certain donuts he didn't know what we were talking about or couldn't tell us what the donuts were filled or topped off with. We ended up just getting simple donuts cause he couldn't answer our questions and it was frustrating. Seemed like he didn't want to answer them so he just acted like he didn't know what was in them. The lady doing our order at drive thru gave us the most disgusting attitude. And once we pulled up to the window she shoved our donuts in our faces and hit us and was tort all rude and disrespectful. She was snappy with us throughout our whole order and was very short with us. And so disgusting and sarcastic just very rude. I'm very disappointed in the service I received today, I've been here many times before and I'm not sure if I want to come back. I was visiting family for the weekend and we are coming from Coachella, we don't have a lot of donut places so I was so excited when we heard about this place. Now it is Sunday morning and I know it is going to be super packed, we pull up to the drive thru and we are greeted with a voice that sounds like they don't even want to be there. We asked for a minute seeing how the menu was overwhelming, and she stayed quiet didn't respond. When my husband mistakenly asked for a chocolate donut without specifying which one she corrected him with an attitude saying "well which one we have a lot". I was like whoa that was not necessary. We proceeded to ask for a breakfast sandwich and she continues with her attitude "how do you want it" "what bread" "is that it?" I was really upset and annoyed because I heard amazing things about this place and to be treated like that sucks. I gave this review 3 stars because the donuts are really delicious and the breakfast sandwich was also very good, but then again it's a completely different person making the food. I hope they give their employees more classes on how to treat their paying customers. read more

The time is a little after 9am and a first timer.. So many donut options. I ordered the fruit loops donut. I then ordered an iced coffee with cream... then I'm told " I'm so sorry, we are currently out of creamer. " It's like if McDonald's ran out of ketchup. Went to Randy's this morning about 10:00AM. Went through drive thru with no problem. Hadn't been before so needed to look at menu. Employee said "no problem, take your time and let me know when you're ready". Never had Randy's Donuts. Very good. Unbelieveable variety. Good service. Employees very polite. Drive thru took forever and the coffee sucked and was overly bitter with no real taste to it. Ham and cheese croissants were ice cold. How do you have ice cold croissants and not think to heat them up on a cold day before serving them. I'd have been better off going to 7-11 with how bad everything was at this place. I wont be returning. The randy's in LA is outstandingly better than this brand new one. Waste the gas and take the trip instead of stopping here. This is an embarrassment to an LA iconic donut shop. read more

I have only heard of Randy's , I saw em building it. I sent my staff over on the first day,knowing it was gonna be crazy. I waited 4 days to check it out for myself , I did buy 3 dozen for my office . I also ordered and was charged for 3 sandwiches. I did have to wait for the breakfast sandwich's cause the girl walked over and no one ever made them. So after waiting for 15 min I was handed a bag that was heavy so I assuming all were in the bag . When I got to my office there was only one . And the one was burnt very bad. The Mgr guy was not doing a good job delegating people . My staff loved the donuts, I hope they work out the kinks. Went this morning before work at around 11:20am, got a Carmel iced coffee. When I got to the window the lady gave me a black coffee, straight black, when I told her I think she gave me the wrong order she asked what I had got and I said a Carmel iced coffee and she replied with " Oh this is a Carmel iced coffee we just ran out of creamer ". To me that's just ridiculous, I should've been told there wasn't any creamer as soon as I ordered one not after I paid. Then when I checked my receipt it said I had ordered a regular coffee with no flavor added. Very disappointed today. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I personally was never crazy about donuts until I tried Randy's. (Even better than Voodoo Doughnuts for those of you who know what that is.) Not to mention the customer service is FANTASTIC! They are very nice and helpful, and you can't beat the prices for the quality of the food. I've seen some conflicting reviews, but honestly I wouldn't let those stop you. I've never had a bad experience with Randy's and in fact, they have always surpassed my expectations which is pretty impressive considering how busy they get (also, it's a donut shop after all, not a 5 star steak house). But moral of the story, if you're in the area and get the chance, treat yourself to some fantastic donuts served by some very friendly people!!! It's worth it. read more

Randy's Donuts is a Los Angeles institution because of the iconic oversized donut in movies and pictures; the donuts, however, lack that 'star' quality that one would associate with the famous landmark. Tried a Tiger's Tail, an apple fritter, a regular glazed and a chocolate glazed buttermilk, and a french cruller donut. The place was very clean and bright with nostalgic photos of the original Randy's on Manchester. Like most newer locations, there was little room for several people to view and purchase the donuts (just a design flaw that is a problem when masses arrive; putting needless pressure on the staff and customers). The service was friendly. Last night's server was considerate, but brings several things to mind should one would want to visit this donut stand. One: despite his promptness, needed to double check the order with the customer as I ordered both buttermilk donuts and got buttermilk bars instead. Similar donut stands with similar 'artisanal' donuts often place them in an open box while you order to guarantee you get exactly what you want (the former OC Donuts in Fountain Valley/Donut Bar in San Diego/Pinkbox Doughnuts in Las Vegas). Two: I ordered from the glass case, only to get donuts from a rack BEHIND the glass case. Not, this is not 'bait-and-switch', but it is not exactly helping the customer get what they order, nor help guarantee their specific order. Don't know if this is part of the company's directive to their employees, but do recall getting the same 'from the rack, not from the case' service in their satellite store in Culver City. Not the best policy in my opinion; Randy's can do well to learn from other donut stands regarding this process. The donuts, culinary-speaking, were hit and miss. The best was the french cruller with all the hallmarks of a well-made specific donut. Great chocolate glaze that covers the slightly crispy outer folds, while the inside is airy with a hint of pudding flavor in the middle. A definite must order on a visit, if you like french crullers. The apple fritter was decent, but nothing that made it stand out above other donut stands. A bit bready;decent glaze; some pre-cooked, canned apples in it; little crevasses; and not too burnt. The buttermilk bars were good, with a nice buttermilk batter fried well. The regular was very good, while the chocolate buttermilk had a thick and sweet glaze that kinda overpowered the dough. Mostly moist inside and out, as some that are fried would have a crispier texture outside. I think having the donut rather than a bar would make all the difference, but then again, I was not given much of a choice! The Tiger's Tail was lackluster in flavor, glaze, and texture. It was large, but the inside was bready; the cinnamon that is part of the 'stripe' was there in color, but not in flavor; and the glaze was pretty thin. Will I go back to Randy's? Although it is closer than most; but if anything, for the french cruller, but that's about it. There are other donut stands in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley, to the uninitiated) that serve better quality at a better price. read more

First time here. I was craving for something to eat. It was donuts and some hot chocolate. I came right after I got off from work.. this location is open 24 hours and that's great. It helps for the people who want a drink or a snack after all the other donut locations are closed for the night. I was treated nicely. I ordered a hot chocolate in large size and a few donuts that have cream inside of them. I paid so fast that I was forgetting about my hot chocolate and I paid for it. I turned around after I just stepped outside and went back in and asked about my drink. The lady was nice enough to asked me if I wanted whipped cream on it. I didn't want none as I just wanted hot chocolate by itself. It was very great and tasty and much better than dunking donuts down a few blocks away who were closed. Like I said, not many different donut locations are open 24 hours. This location is nearby few places that are pinpoints to know how to visit them. They are nearby in-n-out burgers, the stonewood mall, nearby the Downey landing and the Downey Promenade. Try this location when you can as they're always open. You can't go wrong with a donut shop that's opened 24 hours. read more

I went to Randy's donuts after the kids begging we stop by .. I ordered 2 hot chocolates and a coffee and 5 donuts . I get to the window and they gave me my box with only two cups . As soon as I said I'm missing a hot chocolate a female Hispanic / chubby employee gives me the dirtiest look ever . I felt like I did something bad asking for my other cup , she even closed the drive thru window to talk about me asking for my coffee with other employees . Even my kids said mom she is talking about you . It was so obvious everyone laughed and looked at us . But I just ignored it got my hot chocolate and left . Now I am home and guess what I am missing a donut !!!! And my coffee has no creamer or sugar !!! Not to mention the bad experience the female made us go through . But to know I got charged for a premium donut I didn't even get . The donuts we're good don't get me wrong but after the service I won't be back . This is moreso about the service! Randy's Donuts are literally my favorite!! I went tonight. I completely understand that with all that is going on in the world, service should be the LEAST of my concerns. However Randy's needs to come up with a better way of placing orders. For one, there should be a way of telling people the availability of donuts, whether via their app, their website, or a large rolling live sign located at their location. We waited A LONGGGGGG LINE simoly to be told that they were BASICALLY out of everything once we reached the front!!I asked the young lady what they did have. She kept telling me everything they DIDN'T have! She was becoming frustrated and so was I. She wasn't answering my questions correctly! Meanwhile the long line is still forming behind me! So I get to the window and see that they had more than I expected so here we are changing our order in the front meanwhile the line behind me is becoming even longer. In the meanwhile, the 2 young female employees were frustrated because they were so busy and overwhelmed. Secondly, people need to know what they are going to order before they get to the front! The car behind me was still ordering after I drove off which was at least 15 minutes. More than likely it was because Randy's did not have the items they wanted OR two because the line is ONLY GOING TO keep getting LONGER and people will have to change their order because 1. MOST DONUTS are unavailable or 2. The employees don't answer your questions correctly because they are frustrated and overwhelmed!!
