I lowkey love this place because it's huge donut on top ! lol. I've been coming here since they first opened. You can either go through the drive thru or you can park and go in and order. Parking isn't too bad at all. I came in on Thanksgiving morning. It wasn't too crowded at all. The iced caramel machiato omg, it was so good. Not too sweet but I could also taste the espresso which is the reason I get a macchiato ! Now off to the donut. I settled for just 1 donut. I got the pumpkin cheesecake and oh my, it hit the spot. Truly hate writting this review. Im not a donut person, but if I have one, it has to be Randy's. Anyhow, stopped by to pick up a couple of donuts for my parents, unlike most, I paid cash. The same hand and glove that grabbed the cash, register and everything in its surrounding, grabbed the donuts. Apparently no tongs are used, and person there changed out glove, after I addressed it, without washing hands. What is the point of gloves if you are grabbing everything? Which made me think, how are donuts handled when not at eye view? I cancelled my order and asked for my money back. At the very least, one person should handle the register and another the donuts; not the same person. It's truly appalling and unacceptable. I have witnessed small mom-and-pop donut shops have better hygienic standards. read more

My family LOVES Randy's Donuts, it's a 10 out of 10. They have a drive through, which is great especially for those who don't like to walk in. We recently got donuts for our family night & our kids love to get off the car to see the big donut on top of the building. The workers are nice & welcoming. Our son picked the blueberry donut, my daughter & I love to get the pink sprinkled one, as for my husband he loves to get the vanilla crème filled ones which were the LA & RAMS one on each occasion. This place is old school a legend back in the day. I stopped by after a Dr visit in the area Located off Firestone and Lakewood blvd small lot with a drive thru. I already know what I want because I get the same thing no matter what shop I visit. I order a raspberry jelly donut and a glaze donut the server was pleasant I paid and was soon on my way. The raspberry was filled with a nice amount of filling that was absolutely perfect it was so good I ate that bad boy while I was driving my only regret was I should have ordered two and would have one for breakfast the next day. 10/10 Glaze donut Deliciousness this one was thick and tender with a nice light glaze I was tasting slight notes of vanilla and it was very good. 10/10 I haven't eaten Randy's Donuts in years and they tasted just as I remembered it was a nice nostalgic dip into my memory of old school donut deliciousness .. definitely a rare treat nowadays. These are my favorite donuts. Since they opened 5 years ago I come here at least once a month. Their donuts are so fresh. Mind you I get the yeast raised ones, I prefer them over the cake ones. I also love that they have mini ones that if you want just a little bit of a donut you can order those as well. They are always friendly and I'm so glad they came to Downey! Got my attention when I saw in the news they're opening in Japan. Out of curiosity, drove to their Downey location. Staff is welcoming and nice. I got a mix of classic, deluxe and premium. It's made fresh, just the right sweetness and the dough, that's what it made different from others. Not a disappoint at all. I also had their hot macchiato. Perfect pair with the donuts. Visited this location via drive thru as I'm from the area and stop by here and there for a quick treat but today was the WORST experience I've had. The guy working had NO sense of urgency and seemed to prioritize walk ins vs drive thru (or maybe doesn't know how to multi task). We ordered as usual and after 20 minutes of waiting had not one not two but all three cars ahead of us leave without receiving their orders items. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited our turn at the pick up window but did not expect to have this guy mean mug us at the window and quickly look away once he noticed both my partner and I were staring back obviously frustrated something so quick could take so long. Hire more people when this guy works, it's obvious he needs the help. read more

I've loved Randy's for many years. Even got a t shirt. Lately the service has been no bueno. They don't carry the m&m rounds at this location even though they have a picture of it. They made a huge deal because I asked for a box for my 16$ 1 1/2 dozens rounds. It's just a box, I don't understand why I would get so much attitude to get a box. I grew up with Oakland people, Stockton people, SJ people, Santa Ana people, Long Beach people, and Inglewood people. Everybody out there knows about Randy Donut's. It's probably as recognizable, as the Hollywood Sign. It's Iconic. It was featured in a few Movies. And it's part of, American history. I knew I had to do this. Today, I'm in Southern California. Changing up the scenery. Believe it or not, this my first time at Randy Donut's this evening, and this one is one of the newest locations in Downey, I don't know why it took that long, but I'm finally here. The shape of the Building stands out, it's intriguing, because it's in a shape of a Doughnut. I got me another Box of Doughnuts. The selection here is cool. This a blueberry Iced Cake, Raspberry Jelly Filled Doughnut, Lemon Cake Doughnut, Chocolate Cake Doughnut, Maple Raised Doughnut, and Cinnamon Crumb Raised Doughnut. I just had a Chocolate Cake Doughnut earlier, and it was really good. I was thinking this was going to be a 3.9-4.3 stars, but I give this 4.3 stars. read more

Red velvet usually has that sort of taste as its the nature of the flavor, but some are better done than others. I have yet to try the breakfast sandwich from this location but I tried it elsewhere and it seamlessly combines sweet and savory for a breakfast sandwich that is sure to hit the spot. I recall it being quite filling. Proceed with caution and expect an extended digestion period after consuming this bad boy. Expenses: 1/1 Standard prices for non classic donuts. Location: 1/1 Clean with plenty of parking available. Staff was polite and I was able to complete my transaction using a debit card. I had Randy's for the first time in Resorts World in Vegas and I fell in LOVE! I was given a fresh and warm donut. I remember it being pillowy soft and it melting in my mouth! I was really looking forward to my second time around while in the LA area and this was the closest location to me. I stopped by around 10:30 am. The workers were polite and helpful. I was offered a box or a bag. My friends and I selected an assortment of different types of donuts. My personal favorite donut style is a basic raised with a topping or a glaze so I was disappointed that all the raised donuts we were given were cold like they were just taken out of the refrigerator :(. They were stodgy and not very satisfying. Due to the raised donuts being cold, I only enjoyed the lemon glazed old fashioned donut. Such a bummer because the Nutella and butter crumb tasted wonderfully. The texture just killed it for me! Anyway, I recommend trying Randy's at least once. The bacon and egg sandwich is really good and is very cheap. Typically, when I go here, I get the Texas glaze. My 14 year old son had a water polo tourney just down the street at the high school, so as has become our custom for these early-morning weekend trips to exotic places like Downey, we always sugar the kid up with donuts before he gets in the pool. When I was a kid, my dad occasionally had to drive down Lakewood for work, and he'd take me to the old Randy's for a donut and a chocolate milk. The recognizable giant donut is one of several around LA, but considering this one is also just a block close or two from an old school McDonald's, there's a nostalgia and a camp to the whole thing. Inside, the case is overflowing with fresh, delicious donuts, including some specialty ones. The kid ordered a dozen donut holes (they make them big here, and offer several types of frosting on them), along with a chocolate old fashioned. Dieting and donuts don't mix, so I passed, but the look on the kid's face as he chowed down was all the endorsement I needed to offer a five star review. Nice guy behind the counter took good care of us, even early on a Sunday morning. The attractive young ladies in front of us in line seemed to be taking lots of photos for Yelp, too, so if you read this, I'm a Libra/Scorpio cusp with Leo risings, and I like long walks in Downey and old musicals and... oh wait, nevermind, I'm happily married. Unexpected delicious on the go breakfast. Drive thru was empty and service was great. Ordered a breakfast sandwich with well done bacon on an English muffin and it was oh so good! Didn't realize the hash brown was inside the sandwich but I wasn't disappointed! Everything was perfectly cooked from my well done bacon to the egg and hashbrown. It's always great when you take your first bite and it's actually hot, showing it's freshly made. Also ordered a chocolate raised donut and caramel macchiato. Finally went here, but to find out it's all hype. Donuts are good; however, it's not the best I've had. Reminded me of a cross between a mom & pop donut shop and Dunkin Donuts. I prefer Pinkbox Donuts in Las Vegas and Donut Touch in Mira Mesa, San Diego. Donuts are huge and reasonably priced, while the texture is soft and chewy, 8/10.
